"I took Lamisil for about 6 weeks. My toenails started looking better right away. I could see the new clear nail pretty quick. I started having bad heartburn and stomach pains. Everything started smelling and tasting the same and terrible. I lost 10 pounds and could barely keep food down for 3 weeks. It has been about 6 weeks since I stopped taking it, and I am still having loss of taste and stomach acid problems. Liver tests came out normal. I have never been allergic to a medicine, but unfortunately, I was in the 1% of people that got the side effects from this medicine."

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "I've been using Terbinafine, generic Lamisil, for 5 weeks so far, and my toenail infection does not appear to be improving at all. It actually looks like it is worsening. This is my second time trying this treatment."

For Tinea Pedis "It took 3 weeks after I saw the improvements in my feet. I've been suffering from this every time my feet get wet, especially on rainy days, but after I had Lamisil, tinea pedis doesn't exist anymore! Thank you, Lamisil!"

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "I took 250 mg Lamisil for 5 weeks! I quit after 5 weeks due to having an altered taste! My mouth tastes like salt and food tastes like dirt! Horrible! I have read a lot of forums, and people are saying the experiences are the same, side effects which were lasting 6-8 weeks after discontinuing the pills! I haven’t eaten much at all, and my stomach is always upset due to the salty saliva!"

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "I've been on Terbinafine for almost a month. I haven't noticed any results yet, but haven't really looked because I didn't think it worked that fast. I've recently developed queasiness at times and lethargy, which could be from a variety of sources. Not sure. I have not experienced any side effects other than those. I'm hoping I lose my taste for foods. I'm hoping it causes weight loss. My luck, I'll be one that doesn't suffer that. I have no doubt this will work, which is why I gave it the highest score already. I'll report back in a few months."

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "I'm currently taking this for toenail fungus, bare in mind my case is relatively minor compared to many I've seen. I had hoped to see some kind of results after a month because mine is just a small area on both big toes only, and read it may take a couple of months to see a noticeable difference in major cases. It's been 2 months and NOTHING has improved, and the small spot areas haven't budged. Not one tiny bit at all! I have SLE, which makes it riskier to take. I've got one more month left and seriously doubting it will clear me up by then. Luckily I've had no side effects that others are claiming, just makes my lupus cause more feverish spells."

For Tinea Pedis "I got athlete's foot from the shower room at camp in 2006. From then, I had it off and on for years. Finally, after years of discomfort and pain and so much itching that I would literally get open sores from it - I finally looked up the best product for athlete's foot. And in a few days, years of pain and discomfort were permanently gone! Don't ask me why I didn't try it sooner. I love this stuff. It's a little pricey but well worth it. You only need to use a small amount of product, so the tube (I bought a cream) lasts for a long time. I believe it says to use it for a week - DO SO. Similar to an antibiotic, you have to use it even after you think it's gone. I didn't, and it recurred a week later. Used it for a week, and it hasn't come back since."

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "I have just completed the 3-month treatment, however, my nail fungus is still growing out, probably 1/4 way to go. Should I get another prescription? Strangely, I have developed a fungal groin rash while on Lamisil, it seems odd, and I have to treat it with a topical antifungal cream, it's very persistent. No other side effects to report."

For Tinea Pedis "I can't believe how well this medicine worked! I had athlete's foot for five years on my left foot and for six months on my right foot. My entire left foot on the bottom and sides and in between my toes itched like crazy at times. Every day, I suffered with my foot itching in the shower or whenever my foot sweated. I scratched so hard in the shower that my foot bled, and I really felt like I was suffering, and that wasn't too strong of a word. I tried a few things that I read online, and nothing helped. I finally tried Lamisil 1%, using it twice a day for six weeks and missing a few doses. Directions are for two weeks. It finally cured my athlete's foot! It's costly but worth every penny. I still use it occasionally to be on the safe side. I rate it 10!"

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "I've been taking it for two weeks now and I've noticed that my toenails aren't building thickness like before. I keep them trimmed away and have always. Now I'm noticing less and less trimming. I feel like I'm on the road to success!"

For Tinea Corporis "This medicine did not help me at all with my ringworm issue. I have not noticed any difference before and after the usage. I was using it for 3 weeks. Before, I was using another brand with terbinafine hydrochloride, and it worked really well. But you don't have that spray in the UK, so I decided to try Lamisil. It's a fail! Hope it helps someone."

For Tinea Cruris "I was prescribed Lamisil to use for 2 weeks to treat mild jock itch. After the first week, the symptoms got much worse (swelling, burning, itching, and spreading). The second week I started losing my taste and smell, and the symptoms did not improve at all. I started using another broad-spectrum antifungal cream, and the jock itch was completely destroyed within 3 days. I will not recommend Lamisil to anyone!"

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "Two days after starting the first dose, I developed the worst headache of my life, followed by diarrhea, then bloating, very gassy, and nausea. I immediately quit the medication, but bloating on an empty stomach, shortness of breath, and itching has lasted. It is now a week after I quit the medication. I can’t give a -100, but I wish I could. This drug is not worth the risk."

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "Did not work! Used the 12-week treatment. Saw an improvement, and after cutting off the whole nail, it looked like it was growing back healthy. Fast forward to now, and the other nail is doing the same thing the first one did. Not only that, but the first nail is still not growing back properly and is starting to turn yellow...again! It's like the medicine didn't even kill all of it. Now I have to figure out something else, as the second stupid nail is turning yellow and starting to have the same issues as the first."

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "Took Lamisil for 4 days. I'm stopping it immediately as I had diarrhea from the second day of use. Awful pill, instead of fixing a health issue, it brings you more issues. I can't wait for it to get out of my system, probably diarrhea will persist until then. I want nothing to do with this drug. Also took two sets of antibiotics and have used Fucidin, and the swelling persists. My nail hasn't grown the tiniest bit in four whole months. I don't know what to do, and I did not go to my doctor's appointment because all of these pills that they have recommended haven't helped me at all. I'm done and frustrated."

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "30-year-old female. All 10 toes were affected, and I couldn’t find anything at all to help and spent a fortune on over-the-counter topical treatments. So, I ended up giving in and going to the doctor. I’m on my 7th week of taking these tablets, and the improvement is already really clear to see. New nails are growing out completely clear and are very strong already, and most nails are almost completely clear. I’ve been suffering with my toes for over 10 years, and this is so exciting to watch. I can’t wait to finally be able to feel happy with the nails. The only side effect I have is that caffeine takes a long time to come out of your system, so it makes me feel really sick, so I just switched to decaf coffee."

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "After 5 days of taking this drug, I began to notice a burning sensation in the back of my throat as well as my upper esophagus…as if they were on fire. I initially thought it was acid reflux, but after taking very potent anti-acid medication without relief, I realized it must be this drug. So I looked at the prescribing information from the manufacturer. It states that dyspepsia (heartburn) as well as loss of taste were effects noted as higher than placebo. But what concerned me was it also stated that while these conditions can be reversible, in some cases, these symptoms were not reversible. Simply Google: Oral Lamisil prescribing information. And then even more ominous: It states that the drug has shown to be toxic to the liver… and this was not one of those very rare effects that pharmaceutical companies must mention. Conversely, they state it is not a rare phenomenon."

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "I've been taking Lamisil for 10 days, and I haven't really seen a difference. I have two nails infected on one foot (little toes). I was wondering if the people that have cured their infection, how long did it take to see improvements? A little more detail on what the nails looked like before. In my case, my nail lifted on the nail bed and turned white. Since a year, my nail has barely grown, and when it does, it's covered by white fungus at the cuticle, so basically no toenail since a year. The other toe just got infected. I also have blisters, and the toe itself is peeling, and I see white, moldish-looking spots around the toenail. Anyone have this same fungus?"

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "Terrible, after having consumed half a packet, my lips started cracking, peeling, nothing helped. My skin was itchy around the neck, waking me up at night. I suffered for about a month until I needed a repeat, and that's when I read the side effects. I blame the doctor. He should have warned me. Unfortunately, I worked it out myself after 42 tablets. I can't even imagine how my liver is. Don't take it."

"I am 33 and have been suffering with toenail fungus and athlete's feet for over ten years. I have tried everything OTC with no results on the nails and good results on the athlete's foot, but it always came back. Like many of you, I don't go out often with open-toed shoes unless I wear socks. I am in my first 30 days of Lamisil, and I can already tell a difference in my athlete's foot, not quite sure about toenails yet, it's too early to tell. So far, no side effects."

For Tinea Pedis "My diagnosis was initially gout since an infection started in my big toe on the left foot, and for over 2 weeks, the infection spread into smaller toes on the right foot and the bigger toe on the right foot, then more toes on the left foot as well. Both feet had itchy cracks between the toes and a crusty texture around the foot too, and even on the heels the skin thickened, along with the bottoms of my feet really burning, and it started with a lot of difficulties walking. Then my diagnosis became athlete's foot and I sent pictures to my doctor who agreed! I have used Lamisil 1% cream for about a month and then I burned my fingers and had to heal them. I stopped using the Lamisil, also thinking my athlete's foot felt a lot better, and after a week, the athlete's foot came back, and I am reapplying the Lamisil 1% cream. I am glad my fingers healed so that I could get back to getting rid of the athlete's foot. This is the first time I ever got athlete's foot and I never went to a gym either."

For Tinea Pedis "Lamisil works from the first application. Fungal infections are slow to get rid of, you have to be patient. But Lamisil has cleared my athlete’s foot on two occasions and my paronychia (fungal infection around my fingernail) once. The other brands only half work. Writing this in relief!"

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "I started taking this drug because one toenail was very thick and yellow. I started having diarrhea almost immediately, and it continued until I stopped the drug after a month of use. Now none of my toenails on that foot are growing, they just completely stopped. The drug is awful, my ear has been plugged since I started the drug, and 3 months later, it is still plugged."

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "I have had this infection of the toenails for about 12 years. Ugh! So embarrassed to ask the doctor. I have gone through the misery of not ever wearing sandals or open-toed high heels. I work in an office environment and would love to wear sandals with some of my outfits. I recently went to the doctor and I finally told her that I have toenail fungus, and she easily wrote me a prescription for Lamisil. I started taking it about a week ago and have not seen any changes, but I will definitely give it time and check in and give my review again in the next few weeks."

For Cutaneous Candidiasis "BEWARE! I started taking terbinafine in December 2020 for a 12-week prescription. I developed acute pins and needles in my feet and ankles. I went to Emory University Hospital-neurology, rheumatology, infectious disease-to determine what was going on, they could not find the cause. I flew to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. They did multiple tests, including a sural nerve biopsy, to confirm that I had vasculitic neuropathy that is damaging my peripheral nervous system. The disease spread over eight months at my legs, over my knees, with pins and needles into my hands, wrists, and lower back. I’m now on chemotherapy and prednisone to try to get the inflammation and reset my immune system with a prayer that it will go into remission. This seems to be something related to the gap junction and the way the medicine blocks chemicals in the axons from working properly, that is my best guess. Please beware of taking this drug. In 12 months, this is the only drug I was taking for a rash."
