Tenapanor "Next month marks my 3-year anniversary of starting Ibsrela. Ibsrela has been a life-changing experience for me. I have had chronic constipation my entire adult life, and like many reviewers, I tried everything without consistent relief. I was so relieved to finally have BMs that I tolerated loose stools and occasional severe bloating, especially at night. This certainly was better than being constipated. Two and a half years into my Ibsrela journey, I began having severe diarrhea. It was so bad (sometimes more than 12 times daily) that I was afraid to leave the house. I tolerated this for six weeks and then finally contacted my GI office. The NP advised me to stop taking Ibsrela for a few days to give my intestines a chance to reset, and then to resume taking it once daily or every other day until regularity was restored. I followed her recommendations, and for the past 2 and a half months, I’ve been taking Ibsrela once a day, and it works like a miracle."

Tenapanor "I have been taking this med for about a month for IBS-C. This is after I've been on basically everything else on the market, all of which eventually failed me for one reason or another. Anyhow, this med causes me diarrhea. A lot, and often. It was at its worst the first two weeks. Not ideal, but better than never going at all. Aside from that, no side effects whatsoever. I'll probably have to supplement with some sort of soluble fiber to calm the runs a bit, but overall, I think Ibsrela is worth a try. Just be sure to drink plenty of water, and possibly some Gatorade or something to help with electrolytes."

Tenapanor "I started by taking Trulance, and it helped, but after my insurance would not cover it, my doctor gave me a sample of Ibsrela to try, and it works even better than Trulance. I’ve even lost 12 lbs since taking it daily. I will say that the side effect of diarrhea has still been the same but is manageable as long as I take it as prescribed! If you need help with co-pay, look into Ardelyx Assist. They have helped me cover my medication fully."

Tenapanor "I have had a life-changing experience with Ibsrela. Unlike any of the other drugs for slow transit constipation and IBS-C that I've tried, without efficacy, I must add, Ibsrela continues to be effective; daily, weekly, monthly, etc... All the others I've had experience with - Zelnorm, Trulance, Amitiza, and Linzess - stopped working after taking them only for a short amount of time. I highly recommend Ibsrela. I did not have to go through insurance at all since I was among the first patients among my GI specialist's patients in a trial at Cleveland Clinic for Ardelyx, which is the pharmaceutical company that makes Ibsrela."

Tenapanor "I have hit the year mark with no side effects. It has helped me tremendously. Would highly recommend staying with it for at least a couple of months to see the best results. I have tried most medications for IBS-constipation and my results have been life-changing since starting this."

Tenapanor "Any other medicine for constipation triggers my colitis. IBSRELA is the only one that makes me go without pain, cold sweat, and cramps. Unfortunately, IBSRELA is not on my insurance list. I am glad my doctor gave me some simple to try. I highly recommend."

Tenapanor "I have been using it now for one year. It started with severe diarrhea and needing to know where bathrooms are at all times. Now, I feel it has stopped working. I have no urges to go. I am not having complete bowel movements and am back to using senna tea, chewy Dulcolax supplements, and even enemas. I have bloating and feel very uncomfortable lately. I have an appointment coming up in May and am not sure what they’re going to do. I’ve tried 3 other popular drugs for this."

"Having struggled my whole life, the last couple of years have been very hard. I have tried everything in the books and still struggled. Trulance stopped working and was never predictable. IBSrela has given me hope. I eased my way in and have settled on once a day and skipping two days a week. Every day was too harsh, and I can’t take it if I have to be somewhere during the morning. It works in 30 minutes, usually 2-3 times, so I need to be close to home for a couple of hours. So sometimes that means taking it at lunch or dinner. The best part is I am not having that horrible sharp cramping I had before. Such a relief to feel like I have some control now. I do start the day with two Fibercon and a full ten ounces of water. I also take two probiotics a day, drinking plenty of water. I am hopeful for the first time in decades."

Tenapanor "I have been taking this for more than a week. The first two days, my stomach was assimilating the medication and was mildly constipated, but the next days, I started going every day. I don’t get cramps or diarrhea, just a normal reaction to use the restroom, and I feel fine for the first time in many years dealing with IBS-C. This medication has given me the chance to go out with no worries of having to go to the restroom immediately. I feel like it’s working. I will continue to monitor my progress. If you have trouble with insurance, get it through Ardelix Assist, they made Tricare cover it fully. I got $0 for copay, thankfully."

"I started this medication about 2 weeks ago. I feel that it has helped me. Nothing else has worked, and if they have, they stopped working over time. My bowel movements are starting to come more regular, but I noticed my pain and bloating have decreased. I would recommend. The MD sent my prescription through Ardelyx Assist, and the copay was $0."

Tenapanor "Have been taking Ibsrela once just before the evening meal. Seems to be helping with pain, but do have a lot of gas within an hour of taking it. Like someone mentioned, it does work a little too well if consuming too much fiber foods, otherwise, by morning it works fine, gentler than Linzess, I think."

Tenapanor "Ibsrela was offered to me by my gastroenterologist to help control my IBS-C symptoms. I have been taking the recommended dose as directed for about 7-8 months. It has provided relief from constipation with daily monitoring of how my gut feels. If I take in too much fiber during the day, the result is an early watery bowel movement the next morning. Ibsrela has significantly reduced the pain that had been unmanageable prior to starting this regimen."

"My doctor gave me samples three days ago. I was hoping for the diarrhea everyone talked about, but I got nothing. This is day 3. I woke up 4 pounds lighter, as I’ve eaten less because this pill makes me feel full all day. My stomach is flat, so my bloating is gone. I do get mild nausea about 3-4 hours after I take my morning pill, no big deal. I do feel like I gotta poop all day long, but when I go to the bathroom, I can push out a bit, but no diarrhea, no huge amounts. So I don't know if this is working or not to help me poop. I'm gonna keep taking the next 4 days' worth of samples to see if it helps."

"I like the fact that I do have bowel movements on Isbrela, but the diarrhea is bad. I started cutting the pill in half and it is better, but still have diarrhea. I get pain on my left side and a lot of bloating. I want to continue because this is the only way I can have a BM. I have samples and will finish them. I hate having the pain and bloating."

Tenapanor "I've been taking Ibsrela for a couple of weeks. I started out taking 2 pills daily. But that was too much for me. I was in the bathroom a lot. I dropped to taking it one day or 1-2 the next day. Or just taking 1 a day. I have been dealing with the rare side effects of nervousness, rapid heartbeat, confusion, panic attacks, muscle weakness, and my legs are very heavy. I have also been having muscle cramps throughout my body, especially in my abdominal area. I have gas and cannot pass it because my stomach hurts all the time. I had issues with that before this medicine, though. But it has gotten worse since taking Ibsrela. I took 1 pill this morning and hope it will help relieve the pain and help me go again. I will try to take it on a daily basis, but maybe just once a day until my body adapts. Taking 2 pills was too much. I do feel that it helps me and I just wanted to give an honest review. I can say it does cause diarrhea, but I would rather go than not."

Tenapanor "Tried for a month and a half. Samples from the doctor. 2 times a day. First two weeks gas/bloating but movement that wasn't forceful or cramps like laxative. Then it really kicked in and I felt so great. Very natural. 2 bowel movements a day. Wasn't forceful and didn't spend hours in the bathroom like with laxatives. Ran out of samples. Insurance won't cover, and I can't afford 2k a month. Also sometimes you may not want to chance it with the gas. You don't poop yourself, but a little 'residual' may come out with gas. But tolerable."

Tenapanor "Like others, I have tried many medications, like Linzess and many others, but sooner or later they quit working. I’ve been on Ibsrela for 2 months now. Initially, some diarrhea, and it worked great, but after a month, I needed to add a small supplement with it, and that combo works. But if I add too much supplement, then bad diarrhea. But overall, it really helps me despite some side effects occasionally."
