Telotristat for Carcinoid Syndrome Diarrhea User Reviews

Brand names: Xermelo

  • Janet

Xermelo (telotristat) "Prior to starting Xermelo, I was experiencing carcinoid syndrome diarrhea at least 5-7 times a day. Along with taking Creon and cholestyramine, I had to be very careful with my diet. Within 2 weeks of starting Xermelo, that frequency went down to 4-5. I have been on Xermelo now for 11 weeks and the frequency is now 2-4. My stools are also solid most of the time. I do have some flatulence, but that existed prior to taking Xermelo. I have tried higher amine foods that I previously avoided and have not had any negative effects. I find the benefits far outweigh the regimen of taking Xermelo 3 times a day. It really is not difficult to follow and well worth the effort! I feel better physically and mentally."
