"Heated up a wok of oil for a quick stir fry on a new induction hob. Realized the oil was smoking after only a min, so went to pick it up off the heat, and as soon as I touched it, it burst into flame. I dropped the pan and got boiling oil over the back of one finger. Ran it under cold water for half an hour, but the skin was grey and waxy, and a massive blister started to form. Long story short, dressed it each day with a load of this on, and it healed perfectly in under a week. They thought I might be looking at a skin graft at first, or at least a very nasty scar and a long healing process, but this did an awesome job!"

Silver sulfadiazine topical "I have been taking Prednisone, which caused my skin to become very thin. I easily bruise, and any scrape will take a good layer of skin off. I fell and did a good swan dive belly flop on my driveway and skinned my lower left arm. My doctor prescribed SSD for me to put over the bare, bleeding arm instead of my normal antibiotic creams. The SSD not only caused my wound to heal faster than the normal creams, it stopped the itching that usually accompanies the healing process. I did not incur any side effects. I now use it on all of my injuries that include cuts or scrapes."

"I was prescribed SSD a few years ago for a second-degree burn and thought it worked OK. It hurt for a very long time. I recently wound up with a larger second-degree burn and was prescribed a honey product made from a certain type of bee that has strong antibacterial and antifungal properties. While it seemed strange at the time, the honey worked twice as fast, the pain was greatly reduced, and it cost about 1/4th of SSD. According to my doctor, SSD is inferior burn care, and I have to agree."

"It is wonderful! I burned my left hand and my stomach with boiling water, and it was really painful, but applying silver sulfadiazine cream on the burned areas subsided the pain and healed it quickly. I had been prescribed to apply the cream twice a day."

"My husband is military, and one of the corpsmen had some of this Silvadene cream available and gave it to him since I am going through a tattoo removal process. This has shortened my healing time exponentially! Not to mention the fact that it has taken the heat out of the burn as well as calmed the skin enough for the blisters to be reabsorbed into the healing surrounding tissue. I only wish it were available OTC because I'm almost out!"

"I was just coming from the hospital from being seen for a severe viral infection in my chest that had been going around. My throat was hurting, so my mom pulled into a drive-thru and got me a hot tea. Only they didn't put the tea bag in the cup of hot water. My mom pulled over, and as I'm trying to get the tea bag out, the cup spills on my lap. Second-degree burns on my thigh. My mom urged me to go back to the hospital because it blistered up so fast, but I refused. I just wanted to treat it with antibiotic ointment and cover it with gauze so I could pull my pants back up. The next day after work, I noticed it looking worse, so I went to urgent care, and they prescribed me this miracle cream. Just one day and it's healing so fast!"

"My son stepped on hot coals some idiot dumped from a grill in a public space. 2nd and 3rd degree burns on top and bottom of his foot. He was in so much pain. The ER put this cream on his foot, and within minutes, he had calmed down."

"I was boiling some water to make tea, a big 5-gallon pot of water, and it got dumped off the stove all down my legs. Luckily, my grandmother had a container of silver sulfadiazine in the medicine cabinet. I grabbed it and rubbed it on my burns immediately, and it didn't leave any scars, and the burn completely went away."

"Found out about this stuff when my son had a severe muffler burn on his upper thigh area from a motorcycle accident. Amazing stuff, no scar. We used the rest and it was the go-to. Ran out of it and purchased some in Mexico. Well, I burnt my inner wrist pretty bad from boiling rice with water. Put this on and within a few minutes, it helped with the pain and healed like it never happened. Amazing stuff!"

"After driving my truck for several hundred miles, I stopped at a roadside park to check a problem. When I had both hands and arms deep in the engine compartment, a sensor came out and blew superheated water all over both hands. We got ice from some people there, and I already had large blisters forming. We rushed to a hospital, and the doctor spread Silvadene on them and wrapped them. I was almost in shock, and my wife drove home. The next day, the burns were almost gone. I couldn’t believe it, but my hands were fine in a few days. I’ve used it since then for multiple injuries, and they heal incredibly fast. I have some I’ve saved, and it’s years out of date but still heals just as fast. It’s wonderful."

"Got second-degree burns on all toes and halfway up the foot. Raw, blood-red skin laying across his toes was awful. Long story short, after hours sitting at the ER screaming because they suck, they put this cream on my foot, wrapped it, and sent us to Columbus. It healed quickly, no scar at all, but it didn't relieve the burn much unless covered with gauze and pads. But it did heal nicely. Horrific ordeal, though, with the foot. I have come to find out mustard works on taking the burn out much better and faster. This cream is great for healing, 9 stars, because it didn't take the burn pain out."

"I just was prescribed this for my 2nd degree burns incurred in a bad ATV crash. The minute I applied it, it instantly cooled the area. No more Vaseline or Neosporin: this stuff feels amazing. Have yet to see how it heals, but based on the reviews, I'm sure it will work like a charm."

"While acid washing a pool, I burned a nickel-sized indentation on my left hand. Went to the E.R. and was given this med. I applied it liberally, put on a loose bandage, and immediately felt relief from the pain. Within days, the healing had started. Based on the depth of the injury, I assumed there would be a scar... There was not! Various sources mention keeping the wound covered and staying out of the sun to prevent skin discoloration. Descriptions of silver sulfadiazine mention that it kills germs and protects the wound from infection. My experience says it does a lot of actual 'HEALING.' P.S.: This is available in Mexico without a script (and is very cheap)."
