Cosentyx (secukinumab) for Psoriatic Arthritis "One week after the 5th loading dose of 300 mg, my lips swelled to twice their normal size, became itchy and then erupted in blisters. My gums became sore, itchy and throbbing. I got a very red eye and began having itching on various other body parts, starting with my toes."

Cosentyx (secukinumab) for Plaque Psoriasis "I've had psoriasis since I was 5 yrs old the moderate to severe form of them. I developed Psoriatic Arthritis on top of my already moderate to severe psoriasis after being abruptly removed from Stelara in 2016 when I was diagnoised with thyroid cancer. After I had the thyroidectomy I developed Psoriatic Arthritis Flare its believed to have been brought on by Endocrinologist abruptly stopping my Stelara injections (most doctors don't understand biologic medication). I started Cosentyx Sept 2018 and I have been 100% clear ever since self injecting is easy peasy 30 minutes on counter top and couple minutes under my arm pit (yup) no pain only mild bruising. I have to say for me Cosentyx has not been a miracle for my psoriatic arthritis flare that has been on going now for 2.5 yrs attacking my tendons and now knees. This disease stinks and has left me house bound alot...awful. Remember all magic comes with a price!"

Cosentyx (secukinumab) for Plaque Psoriasis "I just need to tell people if you have mild Psoriasis, live with it, because if you take strong medication, later you will end up with all body covered with Psoriasis, during my 30years with Psoriasis I had very small spot on my leg & because I wanted it to disappear, I follow all kinds of medication and now I am 90% covered with P, anyway this is my advise to new patient with Mild or little, when it is little, it does not hurt, I know it looks bad, but live with it, it is a monster, when you have too much of it you will wish you didn't start I use to be on Enbrel but it failed after many years, now I had 5 weeks of cosentyx , first 3 weeks I had so much spots may be 60% of my body because I stopped Enbrel and I had so much pain , and so much skin on my floor after the 4 weeks I feel better, little pain, very little skin shedding but all the spots are not cleared yet, I hope it will be cleared in next month , I let you know I put 5 stars because I am still starting"

Cosentyx (secukinumab) for Psoriasis "Experience is different for everyone. I started taking prefilled pen injections for over a year and it is a miracle worker. I had severe psoriasis that affected my life and prevented me from being happy. It covered everywhere, legs, arms, head etc. This medication my doctor gave made it ENTIRELY go away. No more constant creams, just once a month injections and I'm free. The only side effect I have is getting respiratory sicknesses more often (which is to be expected and warned about). But nothing that I couldn't handle. The pros outweigh the cons by a lot and I'm so thankful to the scientists and doctors that made this possible."

Cosentyx (secukinumab) for Psoriatic Arthritis "Excited to be starting this Biologic as hospital team assured me it was really suitable for the effective treatment of my psoriatic arthropathy and psoriasis. By the fourth weekly injection I had had two chest infections and the most horrible urinary tract infection. Three lots of antibiotics and a 7 lb. weightloss due to being so sick, I admitted defeat and didn't take the 5th dose. Admittedly the arthropathy eased slightly during the injection period but this was more likely due to the enforced bed rest due to being so ill than to the effects of the Cosentyx. Goodbye Cosentyx. Going back to Arcoxia."

Cosentyx (secukinumab) for Psoriatic Arthritis "55+ years of psoriasis and 10+ years if psoriatic arthritis. In the past with Enbrel (caused multiple shingles breakouts), methotrexate (minimal impact on the arthritis). 2 1/2 years ago started on Cosentyx with amazing results for the first 18 months. After that overall health declined. Started with loss of taste which progressed to severe pain on swallowing, debilitating ear aches, runny nose, oral blisters on gums, swollen gums, thrush. Made the decision to stop Cosentyx. Gradually the impacts from the toxicity of cosentyx are dissipating. All the psoriatic symptoms are back, as was expected, and worse than ever. I'm giving my body a year to re-set before I try anything else. It's a setback physically with the joint pain, but the side-effects caused by Cosentyx as it built up in my body were scary. Stumped multiple specialists about what was going on as much of what I was experiencing was not listed as known side effects - they are now."

Cosentyx (secukinumab) for Psoriatic Arthritis "Getting ready for my third 300 mg dose. I get nausea all the time. I just don't feel right. I have IBS and have been under control for some time. It has flared up now. I know its just been three weeks, but my fingers are no better and very painful. If this continues after finishing the recommended dosing of 4 weeks, I'm not going to continue. Not worth it if you have to deal w all the side effects and still have pain."

Cosentyx (secukinumab) for Non-Radiographic Axial Spondyloarthritis "I am a 65 year old white female. I was diagnosed with nonradiographic axial spondyloarthritis two years ago after experiencing both peripheral and axial arthritis symptoms and enthesitis. I was first prescribed Cimzia in 2019 and was on this drug for 9 weeks with slight improvement in my back but then began having worsening of symptoms in my feet, ankles, and hips. After six months off any medication I tried Cosentyx. There was no improvement in my symptoms and in the 11th week (6 shots total) I again experienced a worsening of my symptoms in my SI joints and my feet and ankles, with acute pain from plantar fasciitis and milder Achilles tendonitis. I am waiting for this flare reaction to the drug to subside before trying Enbrel. Hope and pray the third biologic is the charm."

Cosentyx (secukinumab) for Plaque Psoriasis "Plaque psoriasis started when I was 22 (13 years ago). Used steroid creams but it got to where it covered so much of my body, it was impossible to treat - so I simply maintained. About 18 months ago, I finally decided to get a dermatologist. We started on Otezla and after about 5 months, there was no more improvement (which was very little). After 1 year of Otezla, asked my derm about Cosentyx. We started that March 2018. After the first month of loading doses, I went from about 60% of my body clear to 75% clear. After my May dose, I am now almost 100% clear. It did leave behind discolored areas of skin where the larger plaques were but that is slowly fading away with tanning and continued Cosentyx injections. Easy injectable pens and little to no side effects. Definitely worth considering. "

Cosentyx (secukinumab) for Plaque Psoriasis "I’m now 40 and I just started to have psoriasis at 36. I started Cosentyx in February and it’s now May and the plaques have lightened a lot but haven’t went completely away. My biggest concern is that I’ve been actively working hard to lose weight since November and had lost close to 35lbs when I started Cosentyx. I’ve been on a strict diet since November and exercise program working out 5 to 6 days a week starting January. February I started the starter doses of 2 shots a week for 4 weeks of Cosentyx, I’ve gained the entire amount of weight back mainly in my midsection, regardless of how much I try to lose. I’ve taken the monthly dose now for 2 months and keep gaining. I’ve talked to my dermatologist about it and he just keeps referring to the companies claim it doesn’t cause weight gain. I disagree because that’s the only thing that’s changed in my regiment. I think I’m going to stop taking. I’d deal with the psoriasis than to keep gaining."

Cosentyx (secukinumab) for Plaque Psoriasis "I started Cosentyx after my Dermatologist did a biopsy on 2 spots & it came back psoriasis. She also suspected psoriatic arthritis due to my complaints of joint pain. After expensive lab work to check for TB/hepatitis, I was started on the 5 week starting dose of Cosentyx @ 300mg/week. After week 3-4 I noticed more sinus trouble than normal, developed an acne like rash on both sides of chest, psoriasis developed in ears/lobes, and scalp worsened. It did not do a thing for me & I do regret taking it. I found a new dermatologist who told me to d/c Cosentyx, gave me topicals & wants me to start Humira to treat PA and psoriasis. I’m nervous due to the reaction & lower immunity but told I need to treat PA or joints will worsen. For years of not knowing I had psoriasis, then getting diagnosis & treatment has been life altering. I feel the Cosentyx made things worse & was not for me."

Cosentyx (secukinumab) for Plaque Psoriasis "I was put on consentyx about five weeks ago before that was on remicade. I had no blood sugar issues until now. Please just for your safety get your blood sugar checked. I had no issues on remicade and went for routine physical and blood sugar was 500 mg after fasting should be in 100-112 range. It can cause big health issues. They are trying to figure it out now. I’ll keep u posted. I am not bad mouthing the drug because I am grateful they are finding better treatment - I just think they should look into this. Search for this online and you will see."

Cosentyx (secukinumab) for Plaque Psoriasis "I had very mild psoriasis, it was mainly on the scalp had 6 or 7 small lesions on different places on my body. I started consentyx 6 weeks ago. I started with a loading dose of 150 once a week for the 1st 2 weeks. Cosentyx (secukinumab) for Plaque Psoriasis "My grandma had it bad. Then at 49 I got it bad. Tried humira, no luck. Now I've been on cosentyx for about 14 months. The thick plaques are gone. Dr did have to up me to 450 mg a month as of last week. It kind of makes my stomach hurt, but I'd rather have a tummy ache than be itching to death. I never knew how tough granny was. This stuff isn't cheap but I was ready to just die. Feel better now."

Cosentyx (secukinumab) for Psoriatic Arthritis "I have been on Cosentyx for almost 3 years and it has done great for my skin but not much for my psoriatic arthritis which attacks the tendons throughout my body, mainly the lower half (ouch). I have experienced palpitations for a couple of days after injecting the (300mg) and only a couple of hours worth of palpitations after injecting the (150mg) and both injections cause golfball size injection lump that itch. I do believe this drug also interferes with my thyroid levels (I'm thyroid-less)so definitely pay close attention to your thyroid health and thyroid symptoms while on this biologic and any biologic. The weight gain is definitely real no matter what the manufacturer or your Doctor says."

Cosentyx (secukinumab) for Plaque Psoriasis "It’s an amazing medicine. I’ve tried so many treatments for my psoriasis and they would work only at the beginning, I’ve tried the ointments, the UV lights, the pills and nothing was really good enough for me, plus they had bad side effects. But since I’ve started cosentyx my life got much better , I’m 99% cleared from psoriasis, with only small side effect ( running nose ) which I consider is nothing comparing to previous treatments .. I’m so happy now I feel like I’m a new person just started living my life."

Cosentyx (secukinumab) for Plaque Psoriasis "Been living with psoriasis for over 20 years. Tried everything from pills to ointments, it help a little but nothing like cosentyx. I am still in the early stages, just finished my weekly shots and I already see a huge improvement. The itch is completely gone and I can see the redness is clearing on a daily bases. Even my arm hair over the plaque has started growing again. I am thankful that I have insurance as I hear it is quite expensive ..10k per dose....I strongly recommend this treatment, it might change your life, it did for me.."
