For Parkinson's Disease "I've been on Neupro for 4-5 years, and for me, it works like a wonder drug. It smooths out my movements and makes me feel almost normal again. The price, however, is stupidly ridiculous. I just found out that if I want to continue taking this, it's going to cost me close to $800.00 per month. Say goodbye to Neupro. Thanks, UCB, you bunch of fartbags."

For Parkinson's Disease "I am using these patches for 18 months, and it has been very effective. But severe psychiatric side effects, like increased sexual urges, compulsive chatting/internet surfing, fast driving, etc., are making me reconsider the use."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "My last 5 years with RLS has been one big circle - trying to find the right doctor who really knows something about the syndrome, thinking I found that doctor, changing meds which help for a few years then back to the nightly walks around the house, no sleep for days then the 'crash sleep' when the RLS eases off, the miserable grogginess after the crash... Then I found a Movement Disorder doctor who prescribed NEUPRO patches. They also worked wonderfully for a year or so, but I'm back into the 'circle.' The NEUPRO patch is probably the best med I've tried so far, but, unfortunately, it augmented too. We're now trying a new form of Gabapentin in addition to the patch. Hopefully this will do something to ease the nerves."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "I've been taking Neupro for 3 weeks, and although it has been great reducing my RLS by allowing me to sleep through the night, which I haven't done in years, I feel like a zombie all day. I can't focus, I feel like I'm in a daze, and all I want to do is sleep."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "I have suffered with restless legs syndrome for years. Tried Requip, and it made me horribly sick to my stomach within 30 minutes after taking it. Then tried Mirapex and still had major symptoms. Then came NEUPRO! WOW! I could live again! It has changed my quality of life extremely! But the patch doesn't stay on well, so I use paper tape to keep them on the whole 24 hrs. Was able to get a reduced payment on medicines for $10.00 a month for 12 months for a 30-day supply. Insurance would not cover it."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "Tried several meds before the patch, but have Crohn's, so they just gave me diarrhea. I was excited about the patch, hoping it would not interfere with my colon. It has not. Although at 1 mg sample, I feel huge improvement, still not sleeping through the night, may have to go up a bit. But already feel much more awake. It seems to give me headaches, so I take the patch off in the morning and just re-apply a new one before bed. It makes me fall asleep so fast, sometimes I don't get the CPAP machine on for sleep apnea, so the doctor can see what's going on."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "I have used Neupro 6 mg for 5 years. It was prescribed by a neurologist at an academic medical center on the West Coast. I started it after 6 years on Mirapex due to the fact that I was starting to have daytime symptoms. It works well most of the time as long as I remember to put it on. If I forget, it takes about 6 hours to start working. If I'm sitting in the evening and start to feel a twinge, realizing that I haven't put a patch on, I am generally up until around 3 am before it kicks in if I put it on that late. I'm planning to see a specialist at another academic medical center where I live now to see if there is another 'emergency' medicine I can take when I forget the patch or it gets knocked off. I'm starting to have slight symptoms during the day now, so I'm concerned that augmentation is starting on this medication."

For Parkinson's Disease "Neupro has helped my tremors. I have been using patches for three months, 2 mgs. My only complaint is that they do not adhere well in this Florida humidity. I have to retape them several times a day. The price of this med is ridiculous. Hurts the budget!"

For Restless Legs Syndrome "It worked great for me. I thought I found the answer to all my misery until I started breaking out from the patch. I got a rash all around where the adhesive was. I was fortunately still using samples, so I had not put any $$ for. I will try it again if they can make the patch hypoallergenic or something."

For Parkinson's Disease "Our dad has been on Neupro for only two weeks now. We have seen a great improvement, however, he now seems to have developed insomnia. That can be a bit rough for us caretakers at night. Hopefully, sooner than later, he will return to a better evening sleep pattern."

For Parkinson's Disease "I have used the patch for nearly 2 years, receiving it from Europe before it was released in the US. Quite honestly, it has been life-altering. I am now able to complete tasks I was totally unable to do before. Now that it has been removed from the US market, it is like taking away the oxygen required to breathe. Someone should do something to at least get the compassionate use thing going."

For Parkinson's Disease "Neupro seems inappropriate for warm-hot climates, especially in high humidity. My experience in Sydney, Australia, is that I must replace patches 2-3 times/day. Frequently, I'm unaware that the patch has fallen off, so for a large part of the day, this medication is useless. Last year during a Pacific cruise, I used so many patches that doctors on board agreed that I'd overdosed. Advice contained with the medication tells us not to 'store' Neupro at temperatures exceeding 25 degrees centigrade nor leave it in a damp place. How is that possible when the outside temperature is around 40 degrees centigrade with high humidity?"

For Parkinson's Disease "I have Dopa-responsive Dystonia. I take Sinemet and use the 6 mg Neupro patch. I moved up by 1 mg every 3 days until my diurnal tremors, rigidity, slowing, and tripping over things eased up (that was at 4 mg). Then I attempted to cut back on my Sinemet, which increased those symptoms, though milder than before Neupro. It was increased again by 1 mg for 3 days, then another until 6 mg patch. I reduced the Sinemet again. It worked! I was able to decrease my Sinemet by HALF. I no longer spill food all over myself when I eat, and I can get up the stairs to my bed. My only side effects have been some weight gain because I have an appetite and mild insomnia. I'm underweight and good at napping, so no big deal. I'm so happy with this."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "I've had occasional bouts of RLS since my late twenties, and it's gotten severe in the past two years. Day and night, multiple limbs. The neurologist gave me samples of Neupro, and I saw no changes at the 1mg or 2mg levels. Once I hit 4mg, however, my RLS has gotten even more severe and shows up daily to the point where I can't sleep. It has raised my blood pressure, caused strange flickering in my eyes, and I am utterly exhausted all day. I so wish this medication would have helped. Fortunately, I've been on samples and have a savings card that brought my copay down to only $10 per month."

For Parkinson's Disease "Since being diagnosed with Parkinson's about two and a half years ago, I started getting anxiety, then about 12 months ago I started getting panic attacks, and I haven't been the same since. I suffer terrible anxiety ALL THE TIME! I am on two different antidepressants and Sinemet. I also see a psychologist and a counselor. I finally saw a neuropsychiatrist, and he seems to think it's the Parkinson's (low dopamine). He put me on 2 mg, and after a week I thought a miracle had happened, and I felt relaxed, but that didn't last long. I have been on 4 mg for two weeks. Again I thought it was helping, but the last couple of days my anxiety has been terrible. Plus, my sleep has not been the best. I have an appointment this week, perhaps 6 mg may work? Cross fingers. On the positive, my movement is better."

For Parkinson's Disease "I have been on the 1 mg for over a year, don't think they help much, maybe the tremors are a little better. I find them a nightmare to keep on, and it's a nightmare changing their position every time. When on my stomach area, they really itch and leave like burn marks. They don't stick well either. Trouble is, half the time, you don't know they've fallen off."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "I was diagnosed with RLS and possible Parkinson’s a year ago. The neuro started me on Neupro 2 mg, and it worked very well, except I am allergic to adhesives. The PRN saw me and put me on 4 mg of Ropinirole, which worked for a few months but made me very sleepy. Then I had severe anxiety and depression. Finally, back on Neupro 2 mg and doing somewhat better, but it will take time! I feel the Ropinirole was at too high of a dosage. I just want to feel normal again."

For Parkinson's Disease "The Neupro Patch was a life changer for us. My husband was initially diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia. He was actually suffering from extreme apathy, which can be a symptom of Parkinson’s. Levodopa (Madopar) appeared to do nothing. He was attending the Movement Disorder Clinic at one of our major hospitals here in Australia. After discussions among the neurologists, they decided to try the Neupro Patch. Wow…after a few weeks, he showed signs of engaging more, and a few more weeks on, he was back to normal cognitively. He was then re-diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "Diagnosed with severe RLS at 23 years old (now 40), but symptoms started at age 7. Countless doctors and specialists, spanning internal medicine to neurology to sleep medicine. Gabapentin, Requip, Mirapex, and Klonopin completely ineffective. Experienced augmentation on Tramadol after a couple of months. Moved up to hydrocodone, OxyContin, and then to methadone (longest life) for 7+ years. I responded VERY WELL to these opiates but was cut off by my latest neurologist. I couldn't find a single doctor elsewhere who would prescribe any of those anymore. Tried CBD...useless. Kratom helped because it acts like an opioid, but I needed way too much PER DAY of the 'red Bali' species. You also build tolerance fast for Kratom and then suffer severe augmentation. I'm posting this on Day 1 of Neupro 1 mg. Sweating like crazy, but I can feel a bit of relief. Might need to use another patch if I can't sleep through the night. Best of luck all."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "RLS earned me the nickname Manic Mike at a very early age. I have RLS really bad, and it prevents me from sleeping for days on end. After surviving stage 4 cancer, I tell most people that cancer is child's play compared to the problems I have in my battle with RLS. Neupro is my main defense against RLS (and I take quite a few other drugs along with it). Just make sure that your insurance plan covers it; my new one does not. At around $700.00/month, paying for this drug alone gets to be a burden."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "I feel more rested than I have in ages. Over the last 20 years, I had used two of the four approved RLS medications, and they worked for years until they didn't. I had tried the third, and it worked for RLS, but it caused total insomnia. Neupro was my last hope at this time. My only issue is it didn't stay on the first night, so I suffered. The second night, I wiped the application site with alcohol. I still had to try different tapes and methods for it to stay on overnight."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "I have extremely severe RLS. It occurs every night and some during the day. I’ve used Neupro twice in the last few years. The first time I used a 4 mg patch, and it worked well. Major irritation at the application site. Gradually, it quit working well. I have just started it again and need a 6 mg patch. A lot of irritation at the application site. I think I’m beginning to have augmentation with it."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "I have used the Neupro patch for over a year. I have got red patches on my body from where each patch has been, plus they have left blisters, like from a bad sunburn on these squares. My doctor insisted I continue the treatment. My visit was a Zoom, I even showed her my places where the patch scarred my skin. But I was still to continue treatment. The medication in the patch works. I have RLS so bad, I ended up with a stress fracture two years ago in my foot from banging it on the floor to get rid of the awful itchy, crawling feeling inside my legs and arms. But something is wrong with the reaction I'm having to the patch itself. I'm afraid to not use it, but I'm running out of places to put the patch."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "I started taking ropinirole 2 mg, which worked for a while, but then it stopped working and made my Restless Legs Syndrome worsen. I switched to the Neupro patch 1 mg, but it provided no relief. The dosage was increased to 3 mg after two weeks, and I was able to sleep for 5 days for the first time in weeks. Unfortunately, it has now stopped working. I am waiting to see my doctor and hopefully can increase the dosage to 4 mg. This is causing me a lot of frustration. I don't pay for patches as I am over 66 and live in the United Kingdom on the NHS."
