Yutopar (ritodrine) for Premature Labor "Please note that there is no discussion of the side effects in the babies born to mothers given this drug. Research Yutopar aka Ritodrine and see what this drug did to our children. Starting in puberty (usually, sometimes earlier) they start experiencing mental and emotional issues such as depression, anxieties, panic attacks, bipolar, OCD, schizophrenia, suicidal thoughts, actual suicide, ADD, ADHD, autism, paranoia and many others along with physical symptoms. There was no long term research done on these children. If you took this drug during the 80’s and 90’s for preterm labor and your child has experienced (and continues to) any of these issues, please research what other mothers and their children have to say about how it has affected their lives. Yutopar aka Ritodrine"

Yutopar (ritodrine) for Premature Labor "Drug caused jitters and sleeplessness in mother from weeks 32-36. Drug discontinued. Baby born at 37.5 weeks. Never consolidated sleep ; could not self sooth; lifetime of anxiety anger mood management issues and ADHD. Difficulty throughout adulthood. Want to connect with others who used this drug. If you google "Long term effects on children whose mothers were given ritodrine during pregnancy" I see it comes up with Q&A from drugs.com which looks interesting "

Yutopar (ritodrine) for Premature Labor "I can't say as to how I ended up on this site today, but I did. It has led to trying to research this topic. Two of my pregnancies involved the use of Yutopar. One in 1985 and the other in 1988. After looking at some of the information I have seen today, it would explain some things I have experienced. During the first Yutopar pregnancy, the drug was only used for about 3 weeks, the second for about 4 months. In looking at symptoms for the babies, I don't think the first pregnancy with the drug was impacted, however it would appear that the second was. My second son who just turned 32 in December has experienced some of the issues listed in various conversations. There were motor problems fine and gross, learning problems (Dyslexia, Scotopic Sensitivity Syndrome) and heart issues."

For Premature Labor "Took for two months + to prevent premature labor in 1985. Caused anxiety in me; son born 35 weeks 5lb 11 Oz with a good Apgar score, had difficulty self soothing as infant & toddler; developed more severe issues starting c 12, ADHD, poor impulse control, adolescent drinking & drug use, falling grades despite being in gifted program. Has struggled with job & relationship issues, alcoholism & anxiety all his adult life; now severe despite rehab and naltrexone."

For Premature Labor "My mom took this drug, oral form, I do not know if it was the generic version or the original. Third trimester. Both of our heartrate's were tachy throughout, it's odd that few studies ever mention that. Perhaps it's cause the mother's heart rate is speedy? Severe depression and addiction as well as mental illness has plagued my mother, me, and my little sister. Does this effect 16th chromosome as well as modifying the way a fetus develops dopeamine receptors. If you live in China, Australia, or India please consider this before allowing your physician to prescribe you this medication. There are safer alternatives that should be considered."

For Premature Labor "I was on Ritodrine after going in to preterm labor at 27 weeks. 1984. My first born (now 38) suffers from severe anxiety and panic attacks and food allergies. I have 3 other biological children who do not suffer from any of this. There must be a direct correlation."
