For Angina "Have been taking this drug for over five years. Had a great drug plan so the $50.00 for a 90 day supply didn't bother me even though I never thought that the drug did anything. Have had two heart bypass surgeries and four stents placed in my coronary arteries in the past 20 years. Cardiologist prescribed this drug cause he ran out of options for my angina. Like I said, never did anything. Recently I lost my good drug plan and now my new Part 'D' prescription drug plan has me paying $225.00 per month for this drug........ridiculous. The manufacturer offers discounts on line which is just another 'rip'. Their own product literature says that 'we don't really understand how it works'.....well guess what; it doesn't. This drug is a scam"

For Angina "Comment to the one that is taking simvastatin with the Ranexa, I read earlier that was one of the medicines that was not to be taken with Ranexa or at least some people need to reduce the simvasatin dose. My dad takes the med for his angina and I was just looking at side effects. His could be from Ranexa but not sure."

For Angina "Five stents and put on range a almost immediately. Very good but I still had angina. Last summer, my cardio put me on Norvasc. Absolutely terrific drug for angina. Angina pretty much disappeared. When I ran out last month, for five days, I started having attacks again. Do inquire about it. I am going to talk to her about getting off Ranexa. Super expensive, too, for a retiree, or actually anyone! $1200 a year. I am also going to call the company regarding financial help. Sometimes, they provide it. Only attacks I now have are when I walk in the cold. But spring is coming."

"Have had Afib since May 2016. Been on Multaq and Metopralol for all that time. Have been cardioverted 11 times. In May 2019 saw a general Cardiologist and added 1000 mg 2 x a day of Ranexa (now Ranolazine) in addition to the 400mg of Multaq 2x a day. Doc told me if I go into fib take an extra Ranolazine (mid regular doses) for up to 2 days and if I do not self convert call his office. I call Ranolazine my miracle drug. One extra dose has converted me every time between 3 hours and 40 hours after taking. The Ranolazine has made my PACs which I had most of the time to be now nonexistent which was an added benefit. There are articles on the internet about the use of Ranexa to treat Afib. It is mainly used for angina. Doc told me that people who had angina and Afib were found to have fewer Afib bouts after starting Ranexa. I know a patient of the Doc who uses Renexa as pill in the pocket for her Afib and it works great for her too."

For Angina "Had 4x bypass 20 years ago (48 yo) and three stents about 10 years later. Was fine on Metoprolol 12.5 mg and isosorbide ER 30 mg in the morning. At bedtime took rosuvastatin 40mg and lo-dose aspirin for 10 years. All of a sudden this year I have Angina in cold weather, after exertion and after an evening meal. Took Nitro 0.4 mg and settled things down, but every evening the same. Angina getting worse and had angiogram last week with 2 blockages of 70% that can’t be fixed apparently. Dr. prescribed Ranexa 500 mg twice a day. Didn’t take it in the morning, but started taking one 500 tablet evening before dinner. No side effects at all and seems to eliminate Angina after meals and mild exertion. I’m happy to have things somewhat stable right now. Going for a second opinion soon."

For Angina "I am in moderate systolic heart failure and I started having angina this year. Since starting on Ranexa, I am experiencing less pressure/angina. I haven't noticed any significant side effects on my dosage of 500 twice a day. My cardio wants to increase it so I can be more active and avoid any discomfort at all, like slight pressure when walking faster or bending over/lifting. I am not sure and waiting to decide if I should double it to 1000 twice a day. I am turning 73 but was fairly active even with chronic pain. Tricky time of life. But I still have things to do!"

For Angina "Ranexa stopped the angina, and I felt much better, but the side effects were awful. Severe confusion, memory loss, vomiting, increased urination (so much so I was up every hour or so at night)."
