For Stomach Ulcer "Rabeprazole is the only one of all the PPIs I can tolerate, and that's very good! My entire story started with having a gnawing, painful stomach ulcer, and I have tried all of the other PPIs! I don't know which was worse, Pantoprazole or Omeprazole! Well, they both gave me severe pain in my abdomen and heart palpitations. But the pain in my abdomen was so severe that I thought I had IBD. (I even got a colonoscopy.) Sadly, no doctor recommended this wonderful little pill named Rabeprazole to me. So I told my doctor to prescribe it to me, and I'm so happy that I did! Now I am taking it about three times a week, and I have no side effects. I want to prevent the ulcer from coming back."

For GERD "I have successfully used brand name Aciphex for years for severe reflux and Barrett’s esophagus (having failed every other medicine I tried), but my health insurance excludes it as a non-covered medicine, so I pay the $440/month which is applied to my $6,000/year deductible just for medicines. The generic is covered at $0, so I thought I would try it again. Within 3 days of starting the generic, I feel like I am taking nothing and don’t know how I will eat dinner or lay down to sleep tonight! I’ll be forking out the $ tomorrow for brand name Aciphex. How can a generic be this bad?"

Rabeprazole for Duodenal Ulcer "I've been sick every morning for over a month, often vomiting, and cannot eat until late in the day. And no, I'm not pregnant. I've only been on Aciphex for about a week, and it is the only thing that has made me feel close to normal again."

Rabeprazole for GERD "Medicine appears to be working. On my second day, I have no heartburn. I am a little concerned about my headache that I have had all day today. I am hoping that this is but a small price to pay if my esophagus will benefit from this medicine."

Rabeprazole for Erosive Esophagitis "Was relieved to see that someone else has used this drug even longer than I have. I've been on it for 9 years with erosive esophagitis. I've rarely had any symptoms and can eat anything. I haven't been able to find any studies of long-term use."

Rabeprazole for GERD "I have taken every medicine out there for my acid reflux, and I am so grateful to have found Aciphex works well. I still have bad days, but I've tried to skip days without taking my Aciphex and can tell a huge difference."

Rabeprazole for Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I was put on Aciphex after antibiotic/PPI treatment for H. pylori, and it does really work. It has been 1 year, and I can feel the difference. The doctor put me on 12 straight weeks of it at first, and now I am taking it 2 days on, 1 day off, 2 days on, 1 day off, etc., and it is keeping the reflux and pain away."

Rabeprazole for GERD "I am just on the second day of starting generic Aciphex and cannot believe how great I feel. I have been in pain and diarrhea for a month due to taking multiple meds for a heart issue. Aciphex has been a blessing!"

For GERD "Was on Aciphex PRN for 11 years. New insurance will not pay for it now, even though they know I was on it for years prior. Now taking the generic, rabeprazole. I had to go through all the over-the-counter meds as well. Rabeprazole gave me some relief, but not for long. Heaven forbid I miss one dose. It never relieves the symptoms fully. I would take Aciphex maybe 5-6 times a month with full relief. It's like a wonder drug. Without it, I'm back to propping the pillows up at night, stomach pain, diarrhea, belching, bloating, gas, vomiting; basically feeling miserable most days."

For Erosive Esophagitis "I tried a number of over-the-counter medicines and Prevacid, but found no relief. After my fourth EGD, I was prescribed Aciphex 20 mg twice a day. It worked. I can swallow, eat anything, and rarely get heartburn. I've been on it now for nearly eight years."

For GERD "I tried multiple OTC drugs for GERD, including Prevacid, which gave me horrible diarrhea. I went to the GI doctor who prescribed me AcipHex and said that it was less likely to cause GI issues and would take away the GERD and belching from my hiatal hernia. It solved the GERD but not the belching, but I had horrible rashes pop up, and I couldn't figure out why I was so itchy. Then, I realized this was the only new thing I added recently. Side effects are rashes, itching, SLE, and others. I was having an allergic reaction. I had rashes all over my back! I had to take Benadryl. I have stopped the AcipHex and will be calling the doctor on Monday. :("

For GERD "Rabeprazole worked great for me for the first 10 days, and it has worked wonderfully for my husband for 2 years. Unfortunately, on approximately the 13th day of treatment, I developed severe and fluctuating blood pressure (198/118 top noted), panic and anxiety attacks lasting for hours, facial numbness, chest tightness, dizziness, etc. I'm not on any other medicines. I stopped taking it, and after 3 days, symptoms slowly dissipated."

Rabeprazole for Erosive Esophagitis "In my experience, Aciphex proved far superior to the generic brand I was given. I don't know the technical difference, but Aciphex (taken once in AM & once in PM) alleviated the painful burnings in my stomach and up to my throat within a few days. The generic form seemed not to work as well or quickly, and I suspected as a possible cause of simultaneous depression (which may or may not have been related...)"

For GERD "Started taking this in May 2021 because omeprazole and esomeprazole gave me headaches and stiff muscles. It was great at first, although my muscles remained stiff. Once I increased the dose at the request of the doctor, I ended up with some awful side effects. Terrible bloating and distension, even tighter muscles, head pressure, headache, dizziness, nausea, basically feeling like I was dying. I came off it for a while and tried lansoprazole, but after a while, it all came back on that drug. I ended up back on rabeprazole, but taking it every other day. It seemed to be going well until the side effects slowly started to return. I've now been off it for one week without any heartburn. I'm taking famotidine at night only, as well as ginger, probiotics, magnesium, multivitamin, extra B12, quercetin, and loratadine. All these things help reduce esophageal inflammation and restore nutrient balance. I'm feeling better after one week, a little bit each day."

Rabeprazole for GERD "I started taking AcipHex a while ago for GERD. It is working quite well. What interests me is that all of a sudden, the plantar warts on my feet that I have struggled with for years are retreating rapidly, with no new sign of spreading. I have heard that cimetidine (Tagamet) is sometimes prescribed for warts."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I tried OTC meds for a couple of years for my tummy before they found the H. pylori bacteria was causing my ulcer. Rabeprazole was added during triple therapy with antibiotics, and within a couple of hours, my searing pain from abdomen through to my back was gone. I should only have to take rabeprazole for 2 months, but insurance will not cover it. I agree it works really well and should be covered by insurance. I complained to the insurance and told them OTCs are not the same and don't work the same, but got nowhere."

Rabeprazole for GERD "I was taking Omeprazole 40mg at night, and it stopped working. I have been suffering with GERD for a few years now, and it got so bad that I started having bad chest pains and couldn’t sleep at night. I went on Pantoprazole Sodium, and it gave me bad side effects, so my doctor switched me to Aciphex. From the first time I took it, it helped immediately! I am so happy I can actually feel comfortable again. This is definitely a 10/10 drug."

For Barrett's Esophagus "Rabeprazole B683 tan/yellow pill works great. I have used it for many years for GERD. I get my medication from Walmart, and they switched to a green pill. The Rabeprazole green pill 07 does not work very well at all for me, and I started gaining weight. After persistent Walmart agreed to fill my prescription for Rabeprazole, my GERD went away, and I have started losing weight again. Rabeprazole B 683 is distributed by Advagen Pharma Limited, 666 Plainsboro Road, Suite 605, Plainsboro, NJ 08536, USA."

For GERD "I have been taking rabeprazole 20 mg daily for about 20 years. Occasionally, I have had short periods of gastritis, but they have not lasted very long. Fantastic for 20 years. However, over the last 2 months, the drug appears to have stopped working and no longer brings any relief. Back to the GP tomorrow."

For GERD "Switched from Protonix 40 mg to rabeprazole (generic) 20 mg, and my heartburn came storming back. Rabeprazole 20 mg is supposed to be a dose equivalent to 40 mg of other PPIs. My doctor said it was stronger, but not in my case."

For Stomach Ulcer "Kremers generic is a great product replacement for the AcipHex brand. I highly recommend it, works even better than the AcipHex brand for me. I've taken AcipHex for 11 years and Kremers generic for 2 years. I do have blood tests for kidney function twice per year (blood pressure meds), and my kidneys are fine."

Rabeprazole for GERD "I have taken Aciphex for about a year now, and I cannot live without it. Forgot it on vacation and paid the price. Will not make that mistake again. I, like many others, have tried various prescriptions as well as over-the-counter medicines, but nothing works as well as Aciphex."
