For Agitated State "I have BPD, severe panic attacks, and anxiety. Use as and when needed. Promazine for myself works to make me tired, my thoughts slower so I can be less anxious. When I'm in an agitated, suicidal state. It doesn't work fast enough to always help. It can take one hour to 1 hour and 20 minutes to take effect. It can help stop the cycle of repeated panic attacks and calm and makes me drowsy. I can sleep a few hours on this or as long as 12 hours. It can make me trip over my words and have a dry mouth. I feel doped up. But it is preferable to the alternative of a highly anxious state. I don't like to take any medication. So it has to be severe for me to take it. The liquid form tastes vile. The tablets are small and preferable, but harder to get prescribed."

For Psychosis "Sedating drug, prothipendyl is related to it; it can break a major crisis along with benzodiazepines, more powerful for physical agitation (and possible self-harming tendencies) than, for example, Quetiapine. Chemical hammer, but if used daily (more as a sleep aid than for psychosis), you get used to it, but still, it's powerful (no fast tolerance like with benzos). No bad hangover next day (like I get with Quetiapine), but a nice relaxed state. Not a wonder drug, not so bad; it's useful with other medicines to stop paranoia and psychotic states, but not on its own. I take it with Lorazepam or Clonazepam to stop a major crisis, but I get useless for a couple of hours. Still prefer that to being completely mad and doing wrong."

For Psychosis "I've been taking this with mirtazapine for around 2 years as my depression caused psychosis and chronic insomnia. It says you start to see effects after a few weeks, but I noticed a change after about 5 days. Within a month, I was able to function again and wasn't delusional anymore. Everything was going perfect until one day I couldn't pee and had to go to the hospital. This drug lists urinary retention as a common side effect, so be careful. I had to have my dose cut from 15 mg to 4 mg, and flow is back to normal now, and I haven't experienced rebound psychosis."
