For Restless Legs Syndrome "I agree with it working. I had Rest Legs Syndrome and didn't sleep good for a month. After being put on other medicines that didn't work, the doctor decided to give me Mirapex. Oh my. I sleep every night and wake very clear and not groggy. I truly do not know where I would be if it weren't for this medication."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "I have a 90 year old home care patient who was started on Mirapex 4 days ago. She suffered with restless leg syndrome and leg cramping nightly. She informed me that since starting this medicine she has felt great and slept soundly for the first time in years."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "My RLS came out of nowhere in 2/2020. It was bothering me 24/7. I was constantly kicking people. No one wanted to sit next to me. It was embarassing. By 6/2020, I had had enough! So I saw a neurologist who started me on Mirapex. After a month or so, he would increase the dose. At one time I was taking .25mg, 3 of them, 3 times a day. It really helped me. I now take 2 tablets twice a day. It still bothers me slightly when I get in bed, but once I'm asleep, I'm fine. I have been eating more sweets than usual and put on a little weight. Don't know if this is the Mirapex or the fact that I stopped drinking."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "I have never had any side effects to the Mirapex but I have all of a sudden started having a gambling problem at the age of 47. It is listed as a side effect and I wonder if it is the medicine contributing. Requip has the same side effect listed. I have to take it for my restless legs syndrome or I cannot sleep."

For Parkinson's Disease "I believe the dumbest thing that a pharmaceutical company could do is what they have done with pramipexole, it's the tiniest pill I've ever seen. My mother has Parkinson's which causes her to shake. This pill being so tiny continues to be dropped from her hands almost daily. Not a very brilliant design."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "My Doctor prescribed Mirapex for my Restless Legs Syndrome and it made me extremely sick! I couldn't even get out of my bed for almost 24 hours and felt like a train wreck! I went back to Sinemet and it works great and is very inexpensive with my insurance."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "This has really helped me. I have had RLS all my life off and on. The RLS is worse now, I am 74yrs. I have been on it almost a year. I believe I may be getting some side effects lately. I am so tired, and can't seem to think straight sometimes. I realize that could be from other things, but I am going to talk to my Doctor on next visit. It is a God send if you haven't slept for nights."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "I had RLS in the evening and while sleeping for years. Finally brought it up with my doctor. I now take 0.25 mg Mirapex morning and evening. It works for me. If I run out for a couple days, the restless legs and fidgities come right back. No negative side effects that I know of."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "I took Mirapex for a couple of months with my severe restless leg syndrome. It seemed to help but I would wake up in the middle of the night and in the morning before work and have severe nausea and vomiting. I am now taking Requip and it has been doing the same thing. "

For Restless Legs Syndrome "I have been taking Mirapex for a couple of weeks now. It doesn't seem to be helping that much just yet. I was diagnosed with restless legs syndrome about 6 years ago, which was a problem at night time. In October, I suddenly started having severe symptoms during the day, so I went to my doctor and she put me on Mirapex 0.125mg a day. I have noticed that I will suddenly feel very sleepy at times, while I've just been completely alert, which I see might be from the medication. Hopefully, with time it will relieve my symptoms for good!"

For Periodic Limb Movement Disorder "I have been taking Mirapex for a number of years, and it has worked best for me. I take 1 tab during day, 2 in early evenings. I had taken a high does of gabapentin/Neutontin, but some suppliers have a huge pill that was just too difficult for me to take."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "I have had mild RLS for about 20 years. But over the past 6 months, it's increased to the point of symptoms most nights. I was exhausted and sleep deprived so the doctor Rx Mirapex. It does work very well to control the RLS but I have been struggling with overeating! I have gained 6 lbs this month. I would describe it as, almost, not realizing how much I'm eating, not feeling full or satisfied, and eating though I'm not hungry. Feeling compelled, if that makes sense. Right now, I don't want to stop the Mirapex because it works so well for the RLS and I don't have any other side effects or problems, just overeating. I'll likely see what the doctor suggests and check out forums for some advice. My advice is if you want to try this drug, realize that you might get some behavioral side effects and have your family be aware it might be a possibility so it doesn't get out of hand."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "I’ve been taking Mirapex for ten years, without side effects, and it has changed my life. I can sleep, take long car rides, both of which were impossible before discovering this medication. I’m so sorry for those who have experienced changes in thoughts and behaviors, but for me, I wouldn’t want to be without it."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "I have severe RLS that is a problem during the day as well as night time. I take Mirapex 0.25 mg twice a day, which greatly increases my comfort levels and the ability to hold relatively still. Note: I am confined to a wheelchair, with idiopathic polyneuropathy, along with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (and numerous additional diagnoses), and currently take 29 other prescription medicines, so I am unable to comment on side effects. I have tried other drugs for RLS, including Lyrica, Klonopin, Neurontin, and clonidine. For me, Mirapex and Lyrica relieve RLS far better than the others."

For Parkinson's Disease "***DO NOT TAKE*** If you do take it then pay close attention to the reviews of Mirapex/Pramipexole, you will notice a common theme. * Those who recently started taking it have found it a miracle drug. * After being on it for weeks/months/years, side effects become unbearable. * Users of this drug become addicted and cannot stop taking it. The side effects become excruciating if you reduce your dose. My opinion is that Pramipexole/Mirapex is more difficult to stop than opioids. * The longer you take it, the more you need it. * You will find very, very few people who have successfully quit. Try to search the internet for someone. I will wait. * Edema of the feet, ankles and legs. How would you like for your lower extremities to become Elephant sized? Take this medication and see. From my research, between 25% of Users of Mirapex/Pramipexole experience moderate to extreme Edema. Sound like a medication you want to take? Please study up before getting addicted."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "Was prescribed this drug for RLS. Suffering for over 30 years. Was trying to switch from Rivotril. I’m not sure what happened, but I watched a commercial with slot machines. Ended up gambling $80,000 and ruining my future, present and past. Was never advised that Mirapex had a side effect listed as pathological gambling, and that it could be an issue and of course it was too late by the time I got the courage to tell my family. Been back on Rivotril since, suffering probably for ever as the dosage isn’t high enough anymore and I don’t want to increase. I exercise, sometimes making it worse. I don’t wish RLS on anyone and be careful on Mirapex."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "I'm writing this to warn bipolar people who are taking pramipexole (Mirapex) for something. You need to be aware that it can induce mania even at small dosages. I took it nightly for my RLS for many years and it worked really well until I finally figured out I was having small, sneaky manic episodes every time I took .5 mg or more. I switched to ropinirole and felt a HUGE difference the very next morning. I felt at peace inside like I hadn't felt for many years. I'm telling you it was nothing short of amazing and I still feel that way now 2 months later. Looking back I can see that the prami was giving me this like "dirty energy" inside all the time I was taking it, even the next day, which was messing with my stability in so many ways. Please be very careful if you're bipolar and taking pramipexole/Mirapex as well. There are alternatives out there to try."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "I’ve been in Mirapex for about 10 years now. I started with 0.25 but went .5 a couple of years ago. I’m very happy with how it controls my RLS. However, I fall asleep quickly but wake up frequently during the night. Don’t know if Mirapex has anything to do with that."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "I'm 55 years old and I've had RLS since I was probably around 8-10 years old. Pramipexole is a lifesaver to me. I've taking it for 5 years. I don't take it every day I take 0.5 mg only when I feel RLS coming on. I would rate my RLS as severe when it happens - normally in my legs but sometimes in my elbows too. I have no side effects. I also take Gaberpentin for back and joint pain. I also take antacid Prilosec and Tums daily for 25+ yrs. Both Prilosec and Pramipexole are essential to my daily life. No side effects."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "I had RLS in my late teens, for many years I would move my legs while in bed, but it did not seem to affect my ability to fall asleep until years later and then I heard about Requip treatment for RLS and it seem to address this condition that doctor's failed to diagnose for many past years. I started out with Requip starter kit, I don't recall what the maximum mg was. But I had gastro issue with this medication and my doctor prescribe Pramipexole ( Mirapex) 2mg before retiring. The medication seems to be very effective in controlling RLS symptoms but does come with some unwanted side effect, not compulsive gambling as some claim, but others issues that could be a result of taking this medication, day time drowsiness is common, I can't imagine how those who have parkinson's disesase stay awake as this medication is prescribed at much higher dosages."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "I took mirapex and requip for about 4 years. I had to stop taking it because I was climbing the walls horny, it was all I could think abut and want to do. I felt like my whole body was tingling and every touch just drove it further. I contacted my doctor and he gave me some suggestions. For instance I recently got put on lomotil for IBS and colon polyps. The active ingredient Diphenoxylate is an opiate. Opiates will always relieve RLS in like one hour but of course all Drs think we are opiate addicts. I hate Drs. I get refills any time I need them on lomotil. I threw out my requip and mirapex. I only take mirapex when I want to be super horny for my GF. I’ve had no RLS in 4 years. It’s especially good if you have klonopin to take too. I’m a nurse and work 56 hrs a week and come home and I’m asleep instantly. Because of the opiate epidemic Drs won’t prescribe meds that help. Only meds that will cause you problems."
