"Before I took Invega injections, I was motivated about life in general. Ever since, I've experienced erectile dysfunction, emotional numbness, blank mind, memory blankness on 150 dose and 75 dose. I wouldn't recommend this drug, maybe only to people who have drug addictions. The side effects outweigh the gains."

"Invega is a great medication. I can speak more clearly and think more thoroughly. I've felt better about myself in almost 2 years, and I've been on this medication for about 2 weeks! I would recommend it to anyone with this diagnosis!"

"First, schizophrenia is a hallucination disorder caused by a defective gene responsible for glutathione S-transferase, which detoxifies a naturally occurring hallucinogen in the body. I showed my shrink a nutraceutical program that maximally cures schizophrenia. He said, go to med school. The tranquilizer does not address the hallucinogen, but it does plug up all the neurotransmitters that are affected by the hallucinogen. I’ve been taking Invega Sustenna for 5-7 years, and yes, half-life is a month; it causes brain damage, and nobody has enough money to file a class action. It gives you limp dick or broken menstrual cycles, and relapsing off the medication causes withdrawal syndrome that is more dangerous than crack withdrawals. The alternative to any drug like this is living on the street and under bridges, living with emotional variety from lunatic to fanatic, losing touch with reality and terrorized by hallucinations."

"Have taken Invega for about 15 years for schizophrenia, then for depression, have tried others, but always quickly come back to this. Has a calming effect, but I still sometimes feel angry, which I have to use a thought-challenging app for. Unlike with the other antipsychotics I tried, I'm able to watch movies and read with this one. I feel very unmotivated often, though, and I've got some bipolar hypomania. Maybe I should try Vraylar, but trying to switch has been a terrible experience for me."

"I had been on Haldol before, which I am allergic to, and it caused wasting away disease. Invega was my last option, and it helped fix what Haldol seemed to have ruined and took away a lot of the scary stuff I was dealing with, like seeing people in my room. The only thing is I am still hearing voices, but they are mostly nice. I am on 234 mg a month."

"My wife was diagnosed with schizophrenia and non-specific psychosis. Hearing voices... telling me I killed someone and as he was speaking to her from the corner of the room, telling her where he was buried. 'Can't you see him right there?' About 18 months of this and worse, a very dangerous situation. Sectioned 8 times through 2018. A therapist helping me mentioned a client that would throw TVs through windows, fighting, hearing voices, seeing things... Invega completely cured him. My wife knew she needed help and tried Invega. Within a couple of hours of taking the pill, she stopped hearing the voices, could read a book for the first time in years as she could finally focus. She is now taking shots along with the pills. She is better than I could have ever imagined. I couldn’t recommend Invega highly enough. There are very few side effects and her head is clear."

"Was doing well on 4 mg risperidone but wanted to try an injectable long-acting med. Doctor suggested I start with Invega oral to be sure it would work. Tried 6 mg Invega for a month but never felt as good as with risperidone. Made me depressed, tired, insomnia, and even had some breakthrough delusions. So glad I didn't go straight to injections. Restarted risperidone and feel good again. It must work for some people but not for me. No data anywhere comparing Invega to risperidone, which is odd because the drugs are related. No evidence this is a better drug than risperidone."

"Been on Invega for two weeks, 9 mg, weigh 130 and 5' 8''. Just started my loading dose of injection, 234 mg. Does not help me sleep, I'm on rendering 15 mg for sleep. Had heart palpitations only once and hope not to have it again. Since starting the shot, I've been OK. Paranoia is at a minimal and mood is stable. Seems to be going good."

"Feel very demotivated, forgetting words more often. Took most of the voices away for most days but would still have spikes on certain days. Not sure if I would recommend this or not after reading the rest of the reviews. Been on and off it for 2-3 years but took it for a consecutive 8 months."

"I have been using Invega for less than a year. The reason I appealed to this medication was because it was the only extended-release medication on the market. What this means is that the medication slowly released into our body within 24 hours. Other medications, when you take them, hit our body straight away to the top and gradually decrease the medication in our body. I find that it is good as it gives less severe side effects, as the medication in our body is at a constant level. I don't have any major side effects from this medication other than depression and insomnia, but that is in general related to my unresolved personal life issues. My prolactin level is lower compared to when I was on Solian. Less lethargic and sleepy."

"About to depart Invega, so I felt the need to document my experience. Five years have been good on Invega. The pamphlet said, 'as clean as we can make it' or some such, and sure enough, the mind felt cleaner. If I was in a room all day, I would feel like my brain was drenched in depression. Invega made it fresh. I was able to take an interest in new things and grew over that time. Male sexual function: 9 mg said goodbye, 6 mg hints of life, 3 mg oh my God, I thought it left forever. Thank you, God. Weight: kind of hard to manage diet and exercise. It's like you need a scientist to work out satisfaction vs. calorie control. Beyond me, though weight training helped me feel good. Tiredness: very tired after work on all dosages. Hard to motivate to exercise but very rewarding."

"I was put on this med while in the hospital. I started having breathing issues (thought I had bronchitis) and rapid weight gain. I went to refill the med after the first month, and the pharmacist noticed that the Invega had bad interactions with one of my other meds and refused to fill it. I'm stepping down, and the breathing issues are lessening, but I'm still having problems with the weight. The days I take it, I am insatiably hungry. It made me feel better mentally, but the rest was rubbish."

"After years of taking Invega 6mg, I could fool the doctor at the health center (I am being followed in the hospital) to prescribe me Invega 3mg. Best thing I've done. I know that I cannot stop medication, but I wanted to try a lower dosage. I am more active and have started bodybuilding as well, instead of being on my smartphone all day like before. When I told the hospital doctor, she tried to convince me to take the shot. I did not accept it, and she told me that they are not responsible anymore. However, sleeping was a problem, and she prescribed 25mg of Quetiapine before bed. It worked, and I am very happy and feeling well in this phase of my life. I am 46."

"Invega did work to keep me from relapsing into psychosis. Also, the injection makes it ideal for people who might tend to forget or stop taking medication. I have had some minor issues like diminished sex drive (also times when I couldn't produce any semen), blurry vision, and weight gain. However, soon after taking this medication, I developed a depression. My depression has varied from severe mental agony for entire days to its current more anhedonic state. It is debilitating, to say the least. After holding on for five months, I will try to switch back to Seroquel, which in the past has left me more stable while also getting rid of any symptoms related to psychosis. I am, however, not sure how much of the depression was caused by this medication."

"This medicine has been a lifesaver. I was on older generation antipsychotics, and they stopped responding. I began to hallucinate, I was convinced my wife was raped, went to the White House to talk to the Secret Service. It was a mess. Anyways, INVEGA saved my life. Unlike older medicines, I do not have any negative side effects like being sleepy and out of it all the time. I have never felt better. I am having the best year of my life, working on getting my family back. I have the energy to work out 4 to 5 days a week. My thoughts are normal. I have never been happier."

"This drug ruined my life and took all of my joy from me, turning me into an emotionless, uninterested, depressed person. The side effects are deep depression, apathy, severe anhedonia, severe lack of motivation, restlessness, tooth decay, muscle spasms, random pains, heart pain, muscle tension, and there’s probably more that I’m forgetting. I used to be happy and have lots of interest, now I have no interest in anything and am depressed and suicidal."

"This is one of the worst experiences ever. I feel like I've been poisoned every morning, notwithstanding the parkinsonism, which was abhorrent as well. Someone under 50 should not be dealing with extreme motility disorders. I would cancel every prescription of this drug, it's been a nightmare."

"Invega Sustenna is making me sicker and sicker. I cannot keep food down anymore, and the doctor will not change it. Find a doctor that knows the Walsh protocol. Using the Walsh protocol, you can put an end to your illness. Dr. William Walsh made the protocol, and it has become widespread in the UK, Ireland, and Australia. There are a rare few doctors who do this over the internet, but you need a little bit of money for them. I am going to try and educate my doctor about the Walsh protocol and see what happens."

"It works very well for the positive symptoms like the paranoia, delusions, and hallucinations. It's also good for being hassle-free since you can work up to getting one injection every six months. Personally, though, the sexual dysfunction killed it for me, so I had it changed. You should personally weigh the pros and cons and see if it's worth it for you."

"I hate this because my last dose was in July 2020, and I still can't feel the effect of ADHD stimulants anymore. The notion being presented by the commentators here that this drug has long-standing and even semi-permanent effects after discontinuation is absolutely true. In the quest to temporarily limit my dopamine receptors, Invega ended up destroying it, with no appeal."

"Had a marijuana-induced psychosis, put in hospital, given this drug, and have had tinnitus and headaches for over a year since one injection of 150 mg. Would say why did you need to give this to a 40-year-old with no history of mental health issues. Would have sorted myself out if I was told that it was highly possible that it was due to smoking too much marijuana, and this can cause psychosis."

"After your first shot, you’ll feel a lot better. After your shot the second week, you’ll start noticing symptoms going away daily. This is the best schizophrenic drug I’ve used. Just make sure you stay with your schedule. They even have a 3-month and 6-month shot, so you won’t have to come as often. Love you all and stay healthy!"

"Stuff is great, works very well, actually makes you work on problems in a more sober state. Definitely increased my sex drive. Life is getting better and better with time, the longer I'm on it, the better I get. Works overall for about 98% of the hallucinations. The voices are still ongoing, but they're a lot better now, only sometimes bad, for the most part not."

"I used to have extreme rapid thoughts about what people were apparently thinking about me and that people were bullying me by gossiping about me and leaving me out. Due to isolation, abuse by my ex, and my funding being cut off at school, I had a psychotic episode and ended up in the hospital. I took medication including Invega because I felt forced, but noticed my mind wasn’t working as hard uncontrollably, so I chose to stay on it. Due to stress and lack of complete support (I have some), I take my medication as prescribed but would love it if I could function off this medication, my dad was still alive, I could be the parent I want to be, I didn’t have to be in the hospital in the first place, and I didn’t have unwanted thoughts of being abused. Please reach out to someone on meds today."

"On this for Bipolar 2, and I can honestly say this drug has made a huge difference in my life. I'm on 4.5 mg daily. I could use more, but I experienced a lack of vaginal sensation when I took 6 mg. I have more energy, my suicidal ideation is the lowest it's ever been. I do feel a little foggy sometimes, but I'd rather deal with that than my symptoms. Within the first couple of days of taking it, I had the most productive days I had in months. I actually keep my place a lot cleaner now. It's easier for me to do things like go to work and meet goals. My breasts did get a little bigger, just enough to need a bigger bra, but small enough that the bigger bra is still a lot too big, lol. I have not experienced lactation like a lot of others have. I do experience vaginal dryness as well, however, in my opinion, the positives of this drug outweigh the negatives. I love this drug and recommend it."
