Invega Sustenna (paliperidone) "Suffered from delusions while awake for 4 days. I am bipolar. Got admitted to the hospital after the police brought me in. Was given about 8 days of Zyprexa and felt relatively normal. The MDs sold invega sustenna as a way to stay free of psychotic behavior and to not have to take a daily pill. My biggest side effect is sedation. I find it incredibly hard to stay up past 8pm and then stay in bed as late as I can (11am). It's like all my dopamine/serotonin is just gone, feel like a zombie. I received the initial dosage intra-muscularly on Dec 14th (234mg) and the second initial dosage on intra-muscularly Dec 19th (156mg). It is now the 28th and I have felt horrible every single day I have been on it. Will be discussing with my psychiatrist. If the half life of this drug is true, this should stay with me until June. If you are not schizophrenic, do not choose to take even the initial dose of this drug, you are signing up for a horrible ride with no going back once it begins."

Invega (paliperidone) for Schizoaffective Disorder "I was diagnosed with schizoaffective order in June of 2020. Since then I have been on numerous antipsychotics and Invega is by far the worst. It caused brain damage, turned me into a vegetable, and I’ve put on 50 pounds. Everything nice in my life is gone. The adhedonia is the worst thing about it."

Invega Sustenna (paliperidone) for Schizoaffective Disorder "I was placed on invega Sustenna after having a violent psychotic episode. I attempted suicide in a very violent manner and went back to the psych ward after surgery. They placed me on 156mg injection once a month. Since being on the injection I’ve experienced slight weight gain, loss of euphoria I used to get from using drugs like alcohol, weed, amphetamines, benzodiazepines, and also the inability to “trip” from using psychedelics. Also, loss of sex drive. Most importantly though...I no longer have the constant thoughts of wanting to end my life or hurt others. All things said though, I have decided to remain on invega injections, sacrificing all the wonderful highs I used to get from dope because I’m afraid that if I stop taking invega I might have another psychotic break, and that the BEAST inside me could drive me to commit violence on myself or others. If invega makes me non-violent, non-sexual, docile, and stable then I say it is a good drug."

Invega Sustenna (paliperidone) for Schizophrenia "DON'T GIVE UP. I have autism asperger's ADHD PTSD OCD. I am an artistic recluse with an IQ in the top 1% . I am terrified of doctors nurses + hospitals I was sleepy + tearful. They noted two facts and said I was delusional and deprived me of my freedom. I had 2 injections without a formal diagnosis. The 1st caused anxiety, depression, insomnia, agitation + hyper vigilance. My second in my arm caused extreme pain in neck, slurred speech, frequent drooling, constant pain at base of skull, blood in urine, swelling of ankles and face, extreme physical fatigue and sleeping 15 hours a day. I forgot what I was saying, was unable to spell and was curled in a ball shaking with fear. And a few months ago I wanted to swim out into the ocean at sunrise .. BUT ..i read these stories + knew i just had to wait. I did everything I should as a discipline. I ate though I had to force the food down. I cried for the person I knew I had been - optimistic + resilient + creative + productive. It destroyed me beyond repair . I may never trust a human being again."

Invega (paliperidone) for Schizophrenia "It was and still is an absolute nightmare. I am bedridden since the 3rd shot. I was given this for my first Psychosis episode. I should not have been given it in the first place because I never heard voices I just had strange thought. I have brain damage. My IQ so dramatically reduced that I am unable to live alone. I have very severe anhedonia. I can't listen to music, watch TV or read. I can't sleep. It is like being buried alive. I left the medication 9 months ago with 0 improvement. Only people with severe schizophrenia should be given this"

For Depression "Honestly this has ruined my IQ, personality and I am left to have no thoughts or emotions. I was detained and sectioned (2) in London and subsequently misdiagnosed as psychotic - despite the fact that there were clear signs that I was already depressed, but I was not having hallucinations nor hearing voices. Does anyone know if the effects of this drug go away? or if my brain will function the way it used to ? I don't know what to do."

Invega Sustenna (paliperidone) for Schizoaffective Disorder "Since I've been put on this medicine I've had a difficult time socializing. I have trouble with conversations and everyday activities seem very overwhelming and hard. Work has become increasingly difficult to perform. I'm also very easily tired compared to before taking this medication. This drug shouldn't be allowed to be prescribed to people. I now fear having to talk to people. I also have a very difficult time being sexually aroused."

Invega (paliperidone) for Schizoaffective Disorder "Been on Invega ER for two months; so much better in the head, sorted the acute psychosis out, organized my thoughts in a new and helpful way, slight orthostatic hypotension and drowsiness is easing - overall, this has been a saviour re paranoia and hallucinations etc. AND I am more motivated to do things; continuing with Pristiq at 200mgs and paliperidone 9mg good."

Invega Sustenna (paliperidone) for Schizoaffective Disorder "I was misdiagnosed with schizoaffective disorder and received the booster and initial shot of this medication. I had terrible side effects including 60 lb of weight gain. I also slept a lot and had little energy. After 6 months of discontinuation, I finally started losing weight and returned to my normal weight. I had to take a gap year during this time and this drug wasted a year of my life."

Invega Sustenna (paliperidone) for Schizophrenia "I've been on this drug/medicine for about two years and it has caused a lot of problems in my life. It barely helped with the auditory hallucinations such as the voices and paranoia. I feel like a zombie all the time, really tired, drained of energy, and like my brain is slowed down. I've had little to no sex drive (Sexual Dysfunction) and have no pleasure from sex. Within the first couple weeks of getting the injection of invega sustenna every month. I get muscle stiffness in my neck, arms, and hands. I feel like I can't breathe along with a rapid heart beat and a fever. I become confused, unable to function, dizzy, and lightheaded. This happens two to three times a month within a few weeks after getting the injection. I believe it might be because of NMS (neuroleptic malignant syndrome) which is a rare side effect of the drug/medicine which might cause death. This is a horrible drug/medicine for me iIm going to try a different medicine from a different doctor and hope for the best."

Invega Sustenna (paliperidone) for Schizophrenia "I have been on Invega sustenna for almost 2 years for schizophrenia. I’ve stuck with invega sustenna for so long because it is the second best option in terms of side effects (definitely not saying that it is a good drug). I have erectile dysfunction, insomnia, feeling of mental pain and loneliness, extreme fatigue, lack of motivation, worsened vision, and short term memory loss from this medication (all of the medications in fact). I’m showering about once a month, brushing teeth about twice a week and never exercising because I physically can’t do better on this medication. I used to shower and brush teeth daily in addition to having a six pack (abs). This medication is another antipsychotic that was marketed without care of how the patients feel physically or mentally while taking it. In short, current antipsychotics do work but the side effects are unbearable"

Invega (paliperidone) "I had a horrible experience as well from invega. I never needed meds. I was offered either go to long term care while in a psyche ward or just take the shot and be released. I took the shot cause the thought of long term care scared me. Worse choice in my life. I have had a terrible experience after given this horrible medication, hooooooorrible... Horrible, horrible."

Invega Sustenna (paliperidone) "First off, your psychiatrist only give this drug to you if he doesn’t like you. Threatened to sue my psychiatrist and argued with him while hospitalized before injected. After just one injection of this drug you will no longer get morning wood, you won’t feel anything in your nether region, and you will barely get hard with erection pills and you will also gain 50+ pounds and every woman will leave you when they realize you have the sexual function of a toddler. Your brain won’t know what “horny” feels like, you will lose all your friends, you will be unable to laugh or cry anymore. You will just stop caring about anything anymore. This drug doesn’t care how in-shape, or sexual you are. It will destroy your sexual function as a male for good and turn you into a slug with no purpose. Your dick and balls will go from being a grape into a raisin. Taking this drug is basically a life sentence that ends with you dying alone while everyone tells you it’s all in your head."

Invega (paliperidone) for Schizophrenia "I was prescribed Invega because my mother takes the injection, and it has helped her. I take the tablets. I'm so incredibly boring now. I don't find joy in anything really. I don't have motivation to shower. I'm emotionless. I've gained a lot of weight. This medication should definitely be a last resort."

Invega (paliperidone) "Many people who have taken LSD hear voices get delusions this happened to me but long ago. I had temper and I was given invega trinza. I had brain damage, difficulty in walking, impotence, weak muscles and more my symptoms had gone long ago. But I had abusive language and temper, it didn't help my temper. It's almost a year since I stopped Invega and I still have difficulty in walking let alone running. My ability to play chess has been affected this drug. For me there was no positive result"

Invega Sustenna (paliperidone) for Schizophrenia "Okay let me get started. Every social worker, psychologist, and mental health doctor shouldn't prescribe this drug to anyone. It is harmful in so many ways. I took it for 1-2 years because they said: I had said that I had bad schizophrenia. I did not have bad anything except a drug issue- which they already knew as they had tested my urine, but they didn't take that into consideration. If you take this drug you will sleep away your life. You will lose you train of thought every 5 sentences. You will probably 75% chance to lose your job in a fast pace environment. When you take this drug you will lose muscles, goals, and cause you too get depressed. "

Invega Sustenna (paliperidone) "Invega tortured me. My life was ruined. The drs (lowercase on purpose) will never admit the side effects greatly outweigh the benefits (there are none). It is a chemical lobotomy. It helps the same way getting part of your brain taken our helps with the symptoms. Severe akathisia, low testosterone for four months, feeling like muscles are dying (they shrunk a ton), fat gain, high prolactin, destroyed my metabolism, impulsive outbursts. My dr didn't even know the half life was as long as it was. It stays in your system for ages. There are so many tales of misdiagnosis. If you life in a state where they can force you to continue the torture at home then I recommend you submit a daily vlog"

Invega Sustenna (paliperidone) for Schizophrenia "I have been getting injections for 8 months now, and I have no energy, no stamina, I have a really difficult time organizing my thoughts, and any suicidal ideations I may have had before this medication, were nothing compared to the urgent need I sometimes have to kill myself. I know that these impulses are not what I consciously want, but I get trapped within my own mind sometimes, and start crying and cussing uncontrollably. I feel dizzy, disoriented, without hope or a lifeline connecting this dedicating husk of a man, to the passionate person who used to volunteer at the animal shelter and local charities. I was a productive member of society before this nightmare started, a good person who strove to remain productive and busy with day to day task. I cannot complete a sentence most of the time, and the doctor's refusal to take me off of this dangerous drug is bad for me. I can barely associate what I have become, to what I was."

Then our MD talked to me about "invega". It was God sent. the best medication ever. My daughter is able to have a life again. she goes out without being paranoid. It is worth every penny. some side effect but she is able to think clearly. If you are thinking about it. give it a try."

Invega (paliperidone) for Schizoaffective Disorder "Put on Invega and I started hearing voices which is something that's never happened. Panic attacks, something that's never happened. Always felt cold. Would wake up in the middle of the night as though I've been possessed. Invega contains fluoride, highly recommend finding medication fluoride-free. Not to mention it costs $900/month for the pill & $1900/month for the injection! Was on the pill for 2 weeks, went off cold turkey and it was hard, could only describe a really bad physical sensation. I'm trying Lurasidone next, seems to have much better reviews for schizoaffectives. Wish everyone the best."

Invega (paliperidone) for Schizoaffective Disorder "I am currently on Invega Sustenna 78mg, the monthly injection. The main side effect I experienced from Invega was sexual dysfunction. My sex drive dropped a lot, I became unable to get an erection, and when I did manage to masturbate (which was rare) I produced much less semen. Before I started taking this medication, I could sexually recharge in less than an hour if something was turning me on. After starting this medication, my dick became totally nonfunctional for days after ejaculation. I used to be able to get an erection just from looking without genital touching. Now the only way for me to get an erection is with genital touching, and only if it's been a while since I last ejaculated. Before I was on a higher dose and these sexual side effects were worse - at the higher dose I produced almost zero semen and my dick was almost totally nonfunctional. I don't actually know if it helped with my schizoaffective disorder because my symptoms come and go unpredictably. I also gained 30lb"

Invega Sustenna (paliperidone) for Schizoaffective Disorder "This drug has affected my personality and my ability to sleep restfully, causing me to have constantly bizarre dreams. I find myself speechless and unable to hold a conversation. My legs and entire body feel like they are crawling inside, and I feel the need to pace the room. Since starting this medication 6 months ago, I have had to move back in with my parents at the age of 36. I take the 156mg dose for schizoaffective disorder, but the recommended dose for schizophrenia is 117mg. I believe I am overmedicated, and this has caused me to have no emotions and no life. I don't like how this makes me feel and I wish I could stop taking it."

Invega (paliperidone) for Schizophrenia "I was on Risperdal and I was always sleeping, gained much weight and craved for sugar. When I switched to Invega my weight went back too normal, suffer few side effects such as restlessness and sometimes anxiety but it beats those other anti-psychotics because fewer side effects and no weight gain for me. I don't like any of these medicines but I look like I'm not on any, so far so good."

Most of my life I have been a fit and physically active person, but since I have been givin this medication I have been struggling to get the energy to do anything. It took away my motivations in life and I have become numb emotionally. It does help with my symptoms abit but there has to be better medication out there then this."
