"I am a male in my 30s. I developed a very aggressive form of rosacea in January of 2020. I was prescribed Rhofade, and initially, it gave me bad rebounds, and after reading the reviews here, I stopped taking it. I saw a new doctor who put me on a regimen of doxycycline, ivermectin, and Elidel. After my skin had calmed down, I began Rhofade again, and it has become something that I couldn't live without. I apply it daily about two or three hours before I go out so it can soak into my skin (it can be greasy after you first apply), and it controls my redness fantastically. I no longer experience any notable rebound effect. As some other reviewers have mentioned, it seems that it takes your skin some time to get used to it before you can see results. I do believe as well that it begins to reduce overall redness over time. Full disclosure as well, I also had about four laser procedures this year, so that may have played a part in my improvement."

"When I went to my dermatologist to have a mole removed, I asked him to evaluate my cheeks and nose. He informed me that I had mild rosacea and prescribed Rhofade. Unfortunately, this decision led to a significant mistake and resulted in trauma. Despite typically researching anything I put into my body extensively, I did not do so in this instance. Initially, I applied Rhofade in the morning, and it did fade the redness on my cheeks and nose somewhat. However, the next day, when I used it again, I felt a severe tingling and burning sensation. Within an hour, my cheeks and nose turned bright red, and my skin felt hot. I was so embarrassed that I had to call off work for the day. Now, two days after the second application of Rhofade, my face turns lobster-red with any stress, walking, or minimal exertion. This outcome has left me utterly devastated."

"I got a savings card for Rhofade for $50 dollars, and it cost over $600 dollars! After reading the reviews, I will not be buying this product. I have had rosacea for years. I use Metrogel, I have used Mirvosa. Thanks, everyone, for saving me a lot of heartache!"

"I was very nervous using this product after reading reviews on this site; however, it seems to work. I’m 10 days in now. I do see an initial increase in redness when applying, but that quickly goes away. The best effect is at about 3 hours after application. Then it seems to slowly wear off over the next 6 hours."

"Used this trash 6 days now. My face is red as a damn beet. I just had mild rosacea with occasional flare-ups. Now my face is jacked up. Don't use this trash product. Don't be their guinea pig. I wish my dermatologist never recommended me Rhofade."

"I have suffered from mild acne since 14 years old. At age 19, I was diagnosed with rosacea on top of the acne. I have tried everything out there. So far, I am 30 years old now, Accutane and Rhofade have had the best results for me. After my third course of Accutane for 5 months, which makes my face look like porcelain, I started to break out again. My dermatologist gave me 2 little samples of Rhofade, and with the first application, my face was clear again from redness and what looks like eczema. I have used it for 2 days so far, and it is wonderful. I do feel some sensation on my cheeks, but it is worth it."

"Awful experience!! I've been on Accutane for about 4.5 months and was diagnosed with mild rosacea a long time ago. I tried a sample of Rhofade ONCE, and after 3 hours, I felt it was the best thing on earth. My redness was completely gone, but the next day, when the effect was over, my rosacea got really worse than ever before. It's irritated, bright, and spread redness with pain. Please, if you are considering Rhofade, try in a really small spot on your face first. I'm still suffering from that side effect and don't really know what to do to relieve my redness."

"I'm surprised by the bad reviews; I guess people only post when something goes horribly wrong or is a miracle. Mirvaso worked so well in the past to get rid of redness that my face was actually sallow and I needed blush. But the insanely horrible rebound redness after exactly eight hours made it untenable. Derm gave me Rhofade with no warnings, but I had no problems. I have moderate rosacea with acne and sensitive skin; I avoid my triggers, but I still have pretty bad redness and breakouts. This is really thick, heavy, and feels greasy, but it has never broken me out - my rosacea does that. Takes a long time, and I have to really rub to get it to absorb completely, but once it does, I can put other products over it with no problem. Only issue is I wish it lasted longer (like forever would be good) and it reduced redness like Mirvaso with no rebound; but it's not a magic potion, it's just a face cream. There's no cure for rosacea."

"Do not use this product. I used it for a month religiously, then all of a sudden my skin broke out. It was even worse than before. I’m worried it won’t get better. It seems like this happened to a lot of people. How long did it take to heal?"

"This drug worked wonders for me. I have redness, but most impactful is the burning facial pain that comes on its own or in combination with a flare of redness. Rhofade has made a huge difference in the pain and burning sensations for me. I still get red with certain triggers, but much less and with far fewer pain/burning instances."

"I've struggled with redness and bumps from rosacea for many years. As a remedy, I used over-the-counter creams that offered mild benefits (like minimal). My doctor suggested Rhofade, and because I was desperate, I was open to it. In fact, I was so desperate that I paid near full price, minus a coupon. Long story short, this cream worked big time. Within an hour of putting on the cream (a tiny amount on cheeks), I noticed the redness faded. The bumps also smoothed. My brother and husband also noticed. They did not know I had applied it. They simply said they noticed my face looked younger and less angry. I realize some here are saying it doesn't work. I don't want to take away from those experiences. But I also think there's some upset here because of the price tag. It is ridiculously expensive. But I'm telling you that for me, this has been a life-transforming cream. It's worth every penny."

"This is the best thing I've found for my mainly flushing rosacea. My skin stays calm and clear all day using it. I literally cannot flush, which is exactly my goal. I do not experience rebound redness or the bumps many on this thread complain of. This drug does have a couple downfalls, however, the pins and needles tingling was a little unnerving at first, but nothing painful, just a strange sensation. But the cost is insane. I don't use it daily because of the cost, just when I'll be around a bunch of non-family/friends. This drug just isn't affordable for most people."

"I was prescribed Rhofade about 8 months ago, after fighting rosacea for the last 15 years. I was excited until I read the reviews. I was so concerned, I didn’t try it for several weeks. I’m so glad I eventually did. This has dramatically improved my redness. I will say, I started by using a very small amount every 2-3 days. Then I went to once a week and now I’m only using it once every couple of weeks or when I’m giving a speech or will be in front of a group of people, just to prevent the flushing that would often occur. My redness is 95% gone. I also began washing my face with bottled water, at the same time. I just happened to read a blog from someone saying the bleach in her town's water was hard on her skin, so I thought I would try bottled water, just to see. Between the two, I finally have my “normal” skin back."

"Granted, each person is different. I developed rosacea over time. I stopped going to a dermatologist for a while because nothing worked. Just over a year ago, I went to a dermatologist, not expecting much results. He gave me a few trial tubes of Rhofade. Within a week to 10 days, I saw massive results. I’d say 90-95% of the redness had cleared up. It is very pricey without a prescription. Honestly, give it a try!"

"My Derm prescribed this for me for moderate rosacea redness. I had great results with my compound cream (ivermectin, metronidazole cream, and azelaic acid) in clearing the acne that comes with rosacea, and it improved the overall texture of my skin, but it didn’t do anything for the redness. So I started using Rhofade for the redness, and it helped so much. My face would get red from applying it but would go away within 30 min-1 hr. My triggers would still produce flushing but overall, my skin was much less red. I’ve used this cream for about 8 months now, and about a week ago I ran out. My face has become intolerably red with so much heat. The rebound redness is real!! Way worse than what my triggers produce!! I had to put ice packs on my cheeks. Every single day I wake up to a super red face (cheeks almost purple), and now I have more broken capillaries in places I didn’t have before (forehead). It is awful! Even if you have great results, use this product with caution!!"

"The dermatologist gave me several samples of Rhofade. Used every morning for a little over a month. My cheeks are getting extremely red and warm to the touch. It actually looks worse now than before starting the Rhofade. I don’t think this prescription cream is for me. Used to use Bye Bye Red Moisturizer with a green tint, and that worked better than Rhofade, but unfortunately, it's no longer manufactured. I did do laser treatments in the past, which are expensive, but two treatments got rid of the red, and it lasted for months. I will budget for 2-3 laser treatments a year, which gave me amazing results. I did not like Rhofade."

"A lifesaver. I have rosacea that on a normal moment isn't noticeable to the casual stranger - just an overall pinkish color to my face. However, if I have soda, chocolate, or alcohol, and get hot, it gets immediately triggered - flushing bright red (mostly cheeks) and painfully hot (like knives in my face). I've been a constant user of Rhofade for 5 years and have nearly complete relief. The normal pinkish tint is gone. Triggers take several instances to kick in a flushing, but then I don't get the painfully bright and hot feel. Just a brighter pink and warmness. I had tried metronidazole gel before and had no relief, so this cream is a lifesaver for me. I use Eucerin redness relief face wash, then Rhofade, then Phytomer Emergence serum, then Eucerin redness relief night cream. I get lots of compliments on my 62-year-old skin. Now that Eucerin has discontinued those products, I'm having issues with mild redness from the washes I'm trying as replacements. So, I do believe the combination was the key."

"I'm shocked by all the negative reviews of Rhofade. I have been using it for several years, and it keeps my rosacea in check without any side effects. I wake up with a great deal of redness each morning, but it fades within 60-90 minutes of applying Rhofade. The effects tend to wear off by about 6 PM, and I become prone to flushing if I become too hot or agitated in the evening. I wish it lasted longer, but it's substantially better than without it. I tried Mirvaso for several months when Rhofade was in short supply, but it caused extreme rebound flushing by early afternoon - worse than when I used nothing. I'm extremely grateful for Rhofade and would recommend others not be dissuaded by negative reviews. Obviously, it DOES work quite well for some people and is worth giving it a chance."

"Very disappointed. Used Finacea and Rhofade faithfully for over a year with no change. I just started a mixture of 6 essential oils, and it made 90% improvement in 1 week. That only cost me $30. The 2 RXs totaled about $700 per month."
