"This is my second time taking this. I used it in February after having been on Doxycycline for 10 days. After a check, I still had infection. A culture suggested Macrodantin. I don’t have any side affects. I don’t have to eat. I feel better after 3 pills. I get real dizzy when I have a UTI. Had to be hospitalized before. Given 3 days of IV antibiotics. The germs now are real. But, it’s all the practice of medicine."

"27 year old female. Day 1 of this medication I had horrible stomach problems. Flu like symptoms, crazy cramping. Ibuprofen was not helping. Later that night I had unbearable SEVERE stabbing pains in my "area" they were so bad I went in the bathroom debated on going to the ER. Looked online at reviews for this antibiotic. I wasn't sure if it was this drug or my UTI or maybe my endometriosis. After looking online and seeing a lot of other people with similar side effects I immediately stopped taking this drug. Most of the symptoms stopped so I do know it was this drug. This is day 2 of me being off the drug and I feel so dizzy like I am about to pass out and I can barely keep my eyes open even after I got over 8 hrs of sleep. It will not surprise me if there is a recall on this medication. "

"Just like Cipro, Nitro made it impossible to walk on my right foot. Cipro made my arch feel like I had creamed the edge of a brick (and left me limping in the hospital before my surgery and too messed up to drive to the doctor after discharge.) Nitro, without a drip, took longer first making my right wrist tendons feel like a sprain, and then made my right heel suddenly hurt, literally, like I stepped on a spike in the center of the heel. I needed a cane to get back to my bed. I stopped the drug an my heel recovered immediately. My right wrist still hurts today, three weeks later with little recovery. The hurt begins outside of my little finger knuckle , goes below my wrist bone and fades out towards the forearm. I use my left hand more than ever before in my 72 yr old life."
