For Skin and Structure Infection "MD prescribed Mupirocin cream for what he thought was impetigo but swab was negative. Turned out to be roseaca. Cream did not help and actually caused nausea, diarrhea and dizziness. After I stopped using cream, my symptoms disappeared. I'm hyper sensitive to antibiotics and this one is now on the list."

Bactroban (mupirocin) for Skin and Structure Infection "As in any tropical country , shoes are a not a comfortable item to wear. The down side of that is your feet are exposed for knocks and scrapes. I have been using an Iodine type product in the past , My doctor in Australia prescribed Bactroban as cream for my condition...It has twice the recovery healing times as iodine , Would recommend it for your first aid pack."

"My 2 year old daughter recently had a g-tube put in, which became infected. After 4 days of antibiotics and neosporin as prescribed by the Dr., the infection seemed to become worse. She was then prescribed Mupirocin and a different antibiotic and literally the very next day, the infected site seemed to be about 75% better! Impressed and happy, especially for my baby girl."

For Nasal Carriage of Staphylococcus aureus "I guess it worked. Muropicin nasal twice daily for 10 days for MrSA for prep for surgery. Is there any other side effects? Or did MrSA spread using this. May cause increased anxiety and agitation. Increased fatigue and insomnia. Diarrhea. Itchy eyes. Difficult concentration."

For Secondary Cutaneous Bacterial Infections "I've used this on my 2year olds rash and saw noticeable results within 1 day. He would pick his face in his sleep and I couldn't clear it with anything until the doctor prescribed this. I keep it in my diaper bag all the time now. It also works amazingly for diaper rash and any small cut, scrape, or infection. No side affects on my son, daughter, or myself"

For Impetigo "I seem to get this Impetigo every year and it really sucks! So what I found helped me is to be spraying alcohol on it when ever it itches - Sure it hurts like anything but at least it wasn't as bad a when I put mupirocin on it . With in 5 minutes I was at the Gross STAGE OF A WEEPING HONEY CRUSTED MESS . I mean this erupted on my right side of mouth- So basically I washed THAT stuff OFF AND SPRAYED ALCOHOL ON IT AND ITS BETER . Hopefully your experience will be better - I am also on Doxycycline which has helped in the past. WARNING - if you feel a little tingling on your face act quick spray alcohol - get antibiotics and pray it won't last as long as mine did before - too many months"

For Skin and Structure Infection "It seems the mupirocin creme is helping with the skin involved with my cellulitis. I cannot not use ointments and the creme wasn't covered by insurance. Id like to know why insurance is not covering the cost. I used a discount card and got the price lowered ."

For Nasal Carriage of Staphylococcus aureus "The side effects began the first day I took mupirocin. I had a terrible stomach ache, chest pains, and flu-like symptoms for the entire duration of taking the antibiotic. If possible, ask your doctor to give you a different medication."

For Secondary Cutaneous Bacterial Infections "Rx for small area of cellulitis on leg (with Amoxicillan Clav)- Mupirocin caused a worsening, spreading rash around original infection site & spread to cover~ half my lower leg, & after 5 days, as it got worse, I stopped using it. Was then given Desonide (with Doxycycline) & in 7 days very much improved. Have never had cellulitis or rash before."

For Impetigo "That only made it worse - Kept it wet which made it ooooze . Dreadful ! The only thing that worked for me - is spraying alcohol directly on it ! every time I felt a little itchy I still will spray alcohol - it burns like fire ! But it dried it out and made it go away and Doxycycline along with the alcohol spray ! I would and had gotten it off and on often . And it was bad right below my nose or on my chin ! I would just sit at computer searching for different ways to make it go away ."

For Skin and Structure Infection "It worked but...I hope I never have to use this medicine again. I was prescribed mupirocin by my doctor for a bad rash on my face. Was told to use apply twice a day for 10 days. Right away my rash started improving without any side effects. All seemed good but on about day 9 or 10 I broke out in hives on my neck and chest and experienced intense itching. Itching similar to poison ivy. It was miserable and kept me up at night. I had to resort to steroid cream that I was desperately trying to avoid. The rash on my face did completely heal and I of course stopped using the mupirocin. I'm on day 4 of dealing with the itch in my chest and it has gotten a little better so I am hopeful it will subside soon. This cream will work but be aware of the side effects."
