PreserVision AREDS 2 (multivitamin with minerals) for Vitamin/Mineral Supplementation and Deficiency "Same experience as 'BabwinPa.' I took 2x a day AREDS 2 as suggested by my ophthalmologist. One week later, I started nosebleeds and had major intestinal cramps. I found out here, after the fact, that I was not the only one. I trashed them."

I had a blood test, I had high triglycerides, and my liver enzymes were elevated. I stopped taking this Estroven for one month and retested my liver enzymes and they were already six points lower. Please be aware of this when you’re taking this medication."

PreserVision AREDS 2 (multivitamin with minerals) for Vitamin/Mineral Supplementation and Deficiency "I was told to take PreserVision AREDS 2 after an eye exam where the doctor thought he saw early possible macular degeneration in one eye. I took them every day and was noticing that my sight seemed to be deteriorating, and I had more floaters. My eyes seemed tired more after playing piano or reading. Then I ran out and spent a few days without them. My vision improved greatly! Less floaters and I was more able to focus on different tasks. I just played piano without my glasses! Go figure. I have to talk at my appointment in June, but I don't think my body likes them."

Centrum Silver (multivitamin with minerals) for Vitamin/Mineral Supplementation and Deficiency "I need to WARN all people out there that this multivitamin can develop depression. I have never diagnosed depression before, and 2 days after taking this, I developed a terrible 'sad/down' mood which I never felt before. I called PFIZER to explain this to them, and they told me Centrum has no side effects at all... really? I did my research and found out about 4K cases were reported on side effects, being one of them major depression. I took it ONLY for 10 days, and it was the worst 10 days of my life. I had been through some bad stages in my life, yet never been depressed. The day after I took Centrum, I had these horrible feelings of discouragement. I stopped the medication today and hope to go back to normal very soon."

PreserVision AREDS 2 (multivitamin with minerals) for Vitamin/Mineral Supplementation and Deficiency "Trying to use this product, bad nausea, unable to take 2 per day as recommended. Tried Vitalux - body can't handle them, stomach problems continually with both medications. Don't see any difference to eyesight. Have Drusen, which I was told could be a sign of age-related macular degeneration, but some articles read say you can have them with no degeneration. Thinking of stopping this medication, at least going to talk with the doctor when I see him in June."

Estroven (multivitamin with minerals) for Dietary Supplementation "I only took it for two weeks. I thought I'd found the miracle cure to hot flashes, and it was worth the stomach aches and diarrhea. But then I noticed an unusual weight gain in the center of my stomach. I have never carried weight here. I've only fluctuated 5 pounds in the last 25 years and always had a flat stomach or within a week of running of getting it back to flat. Once I realized this wasn't temporary, I realized it was the pills. I went on Amazon to see if anyone else had a similar reaction, and one of them wrote EXACTLY the same thing in the same way I'd say it - it was like a baby had formed. Despite discontinuing immediately and only taking 15 pills, my stomach is NOT back to normal. I'm here because I continue to investigate just how it happens. Despite reading somewhere that immediate discontinuation will stop whatever side effects, I don't see that being the case yet. It is NO FUN at all carrying weight in the center of my stomach. I run, and even my running feels worse."

Estroven (multivitamin with minerals) for Dietary Supplementation "This has been the only thing I found to help my out of control hot flashes, night sweats, etc. It really took the edge off and allows me to cope with menopause. There were times when I just wanted to die, and this saved my life. But give it time. It probably took about 2-4 weeks of daily use before I noticed a lessening of my symptoms. Hang in there. It works."

I could not lose weight and wanted to eat everything that I could get my hands on. I started taking Estroven, and my hot flashes have been cut in half, and I've lost 6 pounds in 2 weeks. Centrum Silver (multivitamin with minerals) for Vitamin/Mineral Supplementation and Deficiency "Within 3 months of starting Centrum Silver, my skin around my neck in front and towards my shoulders became very red and irritated. I tried a prescription gel on them but that didn't help. Tried not taking the vitamin and within 2 months the irritation went away along with most of the red coloring. I am a 64 year old male in good health and have never had any of these issues before. I may try starting to take these vitamins again to see if the irritation returns."

I have noticed you have up the percentages on some ingredients to 100% or more on some things. I am now having an upset stomach, and I think it may be related to the vitamin. I take it with food. I also take extra C, D, B12, Magnesium. I am at a loss as to which it might be. I wish you had left it alone. I may have to change."

I (and most of the human population need to supplement for age-related dry eyes. I want to nourish my eyes because they give me the world! exp date 2019-09 box read: 'minigels' and 'soft gels'. opened box and bottle to find: quite large and quite hard to the touch, deep red-colored pills---NOT 'minigel', not 'soft gel'! ok, took one on faith and with hope. 5 hours later, found myself sick as the proverbial dog overnight! wasted $19.97. I am retired from 30+ years in Nursing/HealthCare and NO, I do NOT have the flu nor food poisoning lol."

Estroven (multivitamin with minerals) for Dietary Supplementation "Well, I'm only going through menopause due to a total hysterectomy I had to get back in 2010 and have been having terrible hot flashes. Yes, it works, but I started taking it in March of 2015. I was 152 lbs, and as of today, I weigh 180. It causes weight gain! I run and work out every day. Prior to all this, so everybody says it looks good, but watch out, that's a side effect (weight gain)!"

PreserVision AREDS 2 (multivitamin with minerals) for Vitamin/Mineral Supplementation and Deficiency "This morning when I woke up, I thought “Why am I waking up daily feeling tired and unrested and why am I experiencing nightly, negative and complex dreams?” Tried to determine what’s new in my life — no new meds, no dietary change, no new vitamins — wait — I started taking this Bausch + Lomb pill due to cataract growth in both eyes. Recommended by a friend. Decided to research side effects, which led me to this website / postings. I swear God is doing the leading! After reading a few, I realized that I had experienced several of the same symptoms. Nausea? Check! Stomach cramps? Check! Diarrhea? Check! Blurry vision ? Check! The first symptom was definitely nausea and there was no logical explanation for it. Prior to finding this website, I didn’t take the morning dose today and decided to stop them entirely for a couple weeks. After reading every single post, I’m not swallowing another. They’re going back to Costco!"

Ever since that I have never felt it again! I think something in the pills gel coating causes that feeling. Hope that this helps!"

PreserVision AREDS 2 (multivitamin with minerals) for Vitamin/Mineral Supplementation and Deficiency "I took this drug for about 7 years and during that time I felt almost constantly unwell with stomach pain, gastritis, fatigue, hand bruising, nausea, and more. I had many tests but drs could not figure what was causing my problems. Finally, one dr suggested that I stop taking Preservision AREDS2 for 2 weeks and within 3 days, I felt so much better...even my hands stopped bruising. I think it's the massive amount of Zinc (80 mg) that one gets each day with the 2 capsules that caused my problem. Now I'm taking Lutein and trying to get more Zinc in my diet. There should be more information available about the pros and cons of this vitamin!"

After breakfast this morning, I took my first one and almost immediately felt sick with nausea, fatigue, near vomiting and a slight temperature. PreserVision AREDS 2 (multivitamin with minerals) for Vitamin/Mineral Supplementation and Deficiency "I took these vitamins for about a week and experienced ongoing dizziness. Since I bought two bottles, I tried to take them again and was unsuccessful, more dizziness. I switched to Walmart brand and there has been no dizziness, however sometimes I get headaches, fatigue, and have gained some weight after taking them for about a year. Then I decided that because the AREDS2 study mentioned that the body only absorbs 25 mg of zinc from these daily pills, I purchased another brand that sells its formula exactly as the PreserVision one except for the zinc, only 25 mg per day. Feeling much better. Also need to watch my sugar intake, it seems to be much worse since I’ve been taking these vitamins."

PreserVision AREDS 2 (multivitamin with minerals) for Vitamin/Mineral Supplementation and Deficiency "My mother has taken Areds for years. They recently changed to a brighter red gel pill. Since then, she has been in and out of hospitals for gas, abdominal pain and inability to eat due to heartburn and a “full feeling”. She was labeled as “ Failure to thrive “. We stopped the AREdS and she was better within a week."

Ocuvite (multivitamin with minerals) for Vitamin/Mineral Supplementation and Deficiency "My mother had macular degeneration so I started taking these daily several years and have never had any side effects like described from these two reviews. My optometrist has done tests because I have fair skin and blue eyes which normally mean more likely to have the macular degeneration and the latest test showed improvement."

PreserVision AREDS 2 (multivitamin with minerals) for Vitamin/Mineral Supplementation and Deficiency "The AREDs 2 I have been taking for over a month now. I do not have any eye problems except for a slight cataract on one eye. I’m basically taking it as a precautionary measure. I have found that in general my vision has improved some and my eyes are not red in the morning. The cap is easy to swallow and I take it with a full glass of water .I have to time it perfectly as to the timing of any dairy ,antacids,and calcium consumption. I Feel that it is doing good!"

PreserVision AREDS 2 (multivitamin with minerals) for Vitamin/Mineral Supplementation and Deficiency "Have been taking AREDS2 for over three years. One pill twice a day WITH A MEAL. My left eye is wet AMD and dr told me and what I read was that AREDS2 will not help wet AMD. My right eye is dry and has remained dry with these pills. Never had any bad side effects but I follow the directions too. Very pleased."

PreserVision AREDS 2 (multivitamin with minerals) for Vitamin/Mineral Supplementation and Deficiency "Dr said I needed cataract surgery. So, I decided to have the surgery on both eyes. During my first visit, for the preop eye exam, the optometrist recommended AREDS 2. I've been on the ARED for that 18 months, and have just come into some unstable blood pressure readings. [I take no BP meds]. I mistakenly was only taking 1 tab a day. Started on 2, recently. [Up until I started the 2 tab dosage, I had no BP abnormalities.] Seeing these comments from others, I have linked the stomach pain, diarrhea, constipation, blurred vision, headaches, upset stomach, I am experiencing, to this drug. My situation may be unique, in that I take an over 50 multivitamin, 5000u D3, 99mg Potassium, glucosamine/chondroitin. Vitamin overload? My daughter, a RN, has warned me about excessive potassium. Can cause heart issues. I am discontinuing the AREDS. HTH,"

PreserVision AREDS 2 (multivitamin with minerals) for Vitamin/Mineral Supplementation and Deficiency "My mom was prescribed this medication for her Macular Degeneration. She was 84 at the time. Poor thing, the first night she took one pill, she was doubled over in so much abdominal pain she couldn't sleep at all. I couldn't imagine why something for your eye would cause some abdominal pain. However, it was the only thing she had taken differently when the pain started. So we knew it was that. A few weeks later, I decided to try it myself. I had such intense cramping in my abdomen, I couldn't even stand up straight. So based on the reaction my mother and I got, this medication dose is too high for people to take. They need to figure out the dose that will still work to help with the eye diseases, but doesn't cause you to double over in agony from abdominal pain!"
