For Pain "I have chronic lower back and leg pain. It's been over 20 years now. After several surgeries, I have decided against letting another surgeon touch me. MS Contin is a godsend! I sleep all night and don't wake up feeling horrible and barely able to move. The days are better too. I don't have those 8-10 level pain days anymore. I still have pain, but it's much more controlled."

For Pain "This medicine has been a godsend miracle for me! I suffer from spinal stenosis, 4 herniated discs, and nerve damage in both legs. I injured myself in 2007, and my chronic pain has steadily increased. I have been treated with different pain medicines over the last few years, including Percocet, Hydrocodone, and Morphine. The problem I had on the others was, while they helped, they would give me a numb feeling. I enjoy reading and... well... thinking! So that wasn't enjoyable for me. The MS Contin works odd to me. I can't really explain why, but I get all the pain relief with none of the high feeling that makes you about as active as a slug. This medicine can cause constipation."

For Chronic Pain "Had been on time-release OxyContin, 20 mg, 2x daily for 2.5 years for severe neuropathy and arthritis in both feet. But insurance changed and had to switch to MS Contin's generic, Morphine ER, 30 mg, twice a day. Was dubious this would be as effective as OxyContin, but has worked like a charm! Been on it for a year now, same dosage. Before time-release pain meds, I was in so much pain. Now, I'm nearly pain-free and it's given me my life back. I can't do too much strenuous walking, but can do things like run errands or take my daughter to the mall. I'm in the process of talking to my doctor about something for breakthrough pain, which hits when I overdo it, or sometimes around the 10-hour mark, and have 2 hours to wait."

For Chronic Pain "I was taking upwards of 10-10/325 Percocets a day and still having knee pain that would prevent me from getting up in the morning. I suffer from chronic patella dislocation among several other knee issues. Taking 60 mg MS Contin 3 times a day is a godsend. I'm down to 2-3 Percocets for the breakthrough pain, but the MS Contin has helped me get through the day and be able to play with my son. I thank my doctor and pharmacist every month."

For Pain "I am a self-employed landscaper who relies on my body to make an income. After taking many types of medicines for the chronic pain in my lower back, MS Contin 60 mg has been by far the most effective. I have been able to work now on this medicine with very little side effects. What I like the most is only taking one pill every 12 hours. I can concentrate more on my life/work and less on the amount of pills I need in a day."

For Chronic Pain "Very good medication (as they go) for chronic, intractable back pain. Works well with NSAIDs to keep pain at a tolerable level, without frequent dose changing. Needs to have a breakthrough med with it. Fast-acting morphine a good choice."

For Chronic Pain "MS Contin 200 mg x2 am/2 pm, allows me to function more than without it. I'm actually out of bed more than before I started. I don't get the highs and lows of taking short-acting pain meds around the clock. I get a steady release of pain control. Of course, I have breakthrough Dilaudid 8 mg tabs as needed. I have chronic pain, multiple lumbar spine fusions, cervical spine compression (all levels). Currently advised to get total cervical fusion, but didn't get medical approval for surgery. This medicine is a life preserver!"

For Chronic Pain "I take it for chronic back and foot pain. I had been taking OxyContin ER, but insurance isn't covering that anymore. I am not a fan of short-acting meds, trying to stay on top of pain with them. MS Contin seems to be working only slightly less effectively than the OxyContin ER. More dry mouth, less sedating though. Both seem about equal on other side effects. I'm happy with it!"

For Chronic Pain "I have osteoarthritis from head to toe. At a visit, my rheumatologist stated I had reached a point where I needed more help than she could provide and wanted me to go to a pain clinic. I had never heard of them. I began going there, they took several vials of blood. They wrote a script for 10 mg of oxycodone for up to 4 a day. When I returned in 30 days, after reviewing my labs, they also wanted me to take MS Contin, 15 mg morning and night. I was told I would not feel the effect for about 2 weeks. I was about to give up, but one morning I got up and realized, wow, my pain was down. Since I have pain medicine in my system 24 hours a day, plus I can take my oxycodone as needed, my pain is much more controlled. I know I will never be pain-free, but it's okay."

For Chronic Pain "I was prescribed 60 mg MS Contin twice a day, switching from the 50 mcg/hr fentanyl patch because of side effects problems and the fact it only works for the first two days. I was diagnosed with fairly severe osteoarthritis and degenerative disk disease last year at the age of 26. After wearing the patch for a few months, my natural pain tolerance nearly vanished. Now taking this MS Contin feels like taking aspirin or a small ER/CR hydrocodone dose."

For Chronic Pain "I was on a lot of pain medications but found myself on three 60 mg morphines and four 15 mg oxycodone until my doctor of 10 years moved when I was forced tapered down to 90 mgs a day of morphine. I was booted out of my pain place and tracked down my former doc, and he force tapered me down to 45 mgs a day of morphine, no breakthrough medicines. In the Midwest, we are being forced down to 45 mgs a day or 45 MME."

For Chronic Pain "I fractured C2 and C3 along with T4 and T5 in 1976. I had chronic pain, 7/10, for close to 20 years, 24/7. Finally, my doctor started me on a 'pain contract' taking MS Contin 60 mg a day, which went up to 100 mg twice a day because of my tolerance. I was at that level for about 10 years with 60 mg of Oxycodone X 2 a day. At this point in time, I have reduced the MS Contin to 45 mg once a day and 15 mg Oxycodone X 2 a day for BT pain, which works quite well for me. My level of pain has gone down from 7/10 and 8/10 to 4 and 5/10, and I have a decent quality of life again. I will most likely continue on this daily routine for a long time to keep my quality of life at these numbers."

For Chronic Pain "I had tried all the short-term meds, like hydrocodone, oxycodone, etc. Over half my back and neck, the pads in between the vertebrae are crushed or not there at all. My doctor put me on 60mg MS CONTIN 4 times in a 24-hour period, with hydrocodone as a breakthrough, short-term med. I need not say I rarely touch the hydrocodone. Sometimes I only take 2 or 3 MS CONTIN a day. MS CONTIN 60mg is the best long-term for me. Thank God for 60mg morphine, pain-free!"

For Pain "Took my pain from a 9 to a 2! Lasts all day, and rarely have to take my breakthrough pain medication. I have ADHD, chronic pain, panic attack disorder. MS Contin, 180 twice a day, Oxycodone IR, 30 mg every four hours, 6 mg when required of Xanax IR, Adderall, 30 mg IR twice a day."

For Pain "My back was broken 5 months ago, and I have been on just about everything you could imagine. I am now on MS Contin, and the pain is literally gone. I can't believe it. I have been on so many other pain relief medicines - you name it, I have tried it with no relief. I finally have the pain relief I so desperately needed."

For Pain "I was nearly killed in a bicycle versus motor vehicle accident. All things considered, I am extremely lucky to be alive and still able to walk. I landed on my head and neck after striking the front corner panel of the vehicle at nearly 40 mph. As a result of this, I have 'mildly bulging discs' in C4-C7 (I think C# may be different?) with neural stenosis and syringomyelia, which is a disorder in which a cyst forms within the spinal cord. I was taking 6-8 Percocet a day, then I moved to Lortab, and I had a problem with constantly needing more than I was given, and I would end up in severe pain for several hours out of the day. Then my doctor suggested MS Contin, and my opiate consumption went down from what it was, and my pain control was improved."

For Chronic Pain "Suffering from ME/CFS for over 25 years; morphine is the ONLY medication that decreased pain to a tolerable level; take 75mg 3 times a day with 10mg Statex (also morphine) for 'breakout' pain; impossible to 'forget' a dose; as the pain lets you know within an hour; 1 major side effect: constipation; controlled by 250mg magnesium 4x day."

For Chronic Pain "Works well. I take it every 8 to 12 hours and haven’t had as much pain. If I forget to take it, it’s like starting all over again, easing the pain. I wish I had this a long time ago instead of going from meds to meds, trying to see what works. It’s scary taking it and reading up on it, but from 1 to 10, I will give it an 8. So far, it’s only been 2 months since I’ve been on this medication."

For Pain "Doctor tried MS Contin (morphine ER), it lasts six to eight hours, not twelve hours. I scream daily as my breakthrough pain meds were taken from me. Does it complement breakthrough pain meds? Yes, but by itself, it is not a good alternative at all!"

For Pain "I am a chronic pain patient and have tried Vicodin 5/500, Norco 7.5/325, Norco 10/325, Percocet, Percodan, Darvocet, and finally I have found relief with 120 mg of MS CONTIN a day and Percodan for breakthrough pain (up to 4 tablets a day as needed). I am now able to work a full-time job, get up before noon, and resume a normal life. I am so thankful my doctor decided to try the MS Contin. The only issue is constipation, but it is controlled with Miralax."

For Pain "I am retired, but still read and do many other activities. I was taking MS Contin 30 mg 3x and Oxycodone IR 10 mg 4x per day. I stopped reading and crocheting. I stopped watching my favorite programs. I never knew when I was going to fall asleep. I became hostile, angry, depressed, paranoid, and had substantial memory loss. I stopped talking to people and was tired all the time. I didn't connect it to my pain medication because I have numerous chronic illnesses. Last year, my doctor suggested a change to OxyContin, but I was afraid. A month ago, I started taking Oxycodone IR 10 mg four times a day and Xtampza 18 mg three times per day. I wish I had done it sooner. I have eaten a good meal with the Xtampza, but I am awake, and my real personality is back. My energy is up."

For Chronic Pain "I began taking MS Contin 30 mg twice daily about 11 years ago due to a chronic pain condition caused, in large part, by lack of treatment due to no insurance. About 2 years into being on this medication, it was increased to 60 mg twice daily and, 2 years ago, 100 mg twice daily. This medication has always kept my level of pain at a point where I could function in a manner where my quality of life increased, although I am unable to work because my left arm is basically useless. Its main drawback for me is that, like with all opioids, tolerance does occur and dosing increases are sometimes necessary. I also take, for breakthrough pain, Tylenol #4, 1 or 2 tabs every 4-6 hours when required. I would personally recommend this medication to anyone with chronic pain issues."

For Chronic Pain "Just started this medicine for my spine arthritis and knee arthritis. It takes away the pain pretty well. I am only on 15 mg. Only problem I have is it makes me feel light-headed and jittery at times. But, as far as getting rid of the pain, it is doing the job so far."

For Pain "I have been on this medicine, changing from 30 mg MS Contin twice a day and 60 mg at night, to 60 mg MS Contin three times a day, going on two weeks now. I am also still taking my 15 mg Oxycodone immediate release for breakthrough pain, taking that five times a day as well. All I can say is 'Yay' for my doctor. I have my life back. I am working two jobs and also I am able to ride my bicycle now. If not for my pain management doctor treating my pain with these medicines, I wouldn't be able to do any of this. The 60 mg MS Contin works hand in hand with the oxycodone. I went from total 100 percent days of severe pain and extreme knee cramps and locking up, to almost no pain days, totally pain-free with this medicine. What a relief."
