Mometasone nasal "This was the worst experience of side effects with this nasal spray! It exacerbated my anxiety, and gave me heart palpitations, not to mention pressure behind my eyes. OMG, it was so bad. I didn’t know what was going on. I didn’t know this till I Googled! So many have complained of the same things! Heart palpitations and eye pain were the worst! I will stick to my saline nasal spray! This stuff is really nasty!"

Mometasone nasal "The Nasonex caused crazy anxiety, super dizzy and weird visual things like afterimages from lights that would last 5 minutes. Waking up in the middle of the night totally dizzy and spinning. It might work well, I'm not sure because I had to stop using it. The visual stuff freaked me out too much."

Mometasone nasal "I began using this after suffering from nasal congestion, headaches, and sinus pains. After I began taking it, I suffered from terrible pain behind my eyes, nausea, and anxiety. I went to so many doctors, but nobody was able to pinpoint what it was. I was having around 20 migraine/headache days per month. Painkillers were not helping, and I was constantly put on higher and higher doses, which all eventually stopped helping. My nasal congestion also didn't really clear up, but for some reason, I still persisted. I didn't think it was the spray, as I used other steroid sprays in the past, so didn't dream it was the Nasonex. At one point, it dawned on me that it might just be the Nasonex. I stopped using it and have not had another headache since. I feel better in myself and not so anxious anymore. I suffered terribly for 4 months."

Mometasone nasal "Nasonex was recommended by my ENT to assist with symptoms of eustachian tube dysfunction (ETD), which I've endured for a couple of months now. I used Nasonex for 4 weeks and found it did nothing apart from make me feel nauseous and made my nasal passages extremely dry with slight blood in mucus. I also had a sore throat. I took myself off it and use saline nasal sprays instead, I find they do more for me and keep my nasal passages moist."

"I have chronic sinusitis (symptoms were eye pain, headache, stuffed nose or runny nose, pressure around the eyes and cheeks) and was prescribed this drug. It helped my symptoms for the first 3 days, for the first time in years, I had no sinus symptoms, I couldn't believe it. And then on day 4, I took my dose before bed, and it gave me crazy bad anxiety! Racing heart! Sweats, couldn't stay still, my vision went fuzzy, I almost called the hospital. Literally thought I was going to die. I was up until 7 AM, I couldn't fall asleep. When I woke up, I was still having bad anxiety. Anxiety lasted about 2 days. Good thing I read these reviews, now I know I'm not the only one."

Mometasone nasal "I have never felt so ill in my life. I can't keep off the toilet, feeling sick most of the time, breathing not too good. I have had this Nasonex before and always had to run to the toilet, but never thought it was this. But this time is the worst. Maybe, as I'm getting older, I am 70 now. I will never, ever use this again."

Mometasone nasal "I was prescribed this nasal spray as a form of treatment for symptoms of sinus. Before I started using Nasonex, I was having at least three sinus infections a year, which required antibiotics to clear up the pain, buildup of mucus, etc. I take one spray in each nostril every night. And thankfully, I haven't had an antibiotic for a sinus infection in a few years."

"Use the mometasone nasal spray as directed, and within 30 minutes started with headache, ringing in ears, shaking, muscle and bone aches. Took antihistamine and had a sweet tea, this calmed me down. Will take this back to the chemist, never use again."

"I’ve been taking this mometasone nasal spray along with azelastine, and 3 weeks into using them, I started to realize my heart rate was extremely high constantly. I had a bit of chest pain, and my usual health anxiety was elevated. My doctor at the ENT wants me to continue to use it for another 3 weeks, but after reading all these reviews and realizing I’m not crazy, it is making me decide to stop using."

Mometasone nasal "Gave me horrible migraines, insomnia, anxiety; and all for nothing, my sinuses are exactly the same. Avoid. I don't know why doctors prescribe this. This should be taken off the market. I suffered miserably for months. Sudafed is as bad as well. Avoid Sudafed at all costs."

"Well, I used the first dose of mometasone nasal of two pumps in each nostril for sinus problems - and will never use it again! Six days later, I still feel dizzy all the time, blurry vision, tired. I just hope today is the last day of it. After an hour of the dose, my left side of the face was swelling, I felt shaky, had flashing in my eyes. I was in a panic. The next day, I couldn’t keep still, my heart was racing. It carried on all week. I went to the hospital, they said severe reaction, never use it again. My face had swollen more and around my throat. They said I would be okay to come home and that the swelling would go away, but day six now, I am so hoping it will be gone soon."

"I will never use Nasonex again, worst drug ever. I have been really ill, racing heart, no taste, the most terrible diarrhea, and pains in my stomach. I have been so tired, could sleep for a month. I have had these before. But never put it down to this. Now I know, please think carefully before you use this drug."

Mometasone nasal "My son experienced an adverse reaction the morning after the first dose (1 spray per nostril). He complained of a headache I thought was just because of his colds, he coughed more frequently and late in the afternoon, he had a low-grade fever. Then he complained his legs ached. I related all these to different things like another cold or too much playing. Then I read the drug info, that's when I had a hunch, so after the second spray, I observed his reaction in the first 2 hours. Then the coughing happened again. I will stop the spray now and find a way to talk to the doctor tomorrow. I gave him Benadryl syrup and nebulized him with salbutamol. His usual treatment during attacks."

Mometasone nasal "I've been using Nasonex for a good 3 weeks now, and it really doesn't seem to work at all. If anything, it seems to make my nose even more runny, and now I can even taste it. Use with caution, it could make your problem worse."

Mometasone nasal "Got prescribed Nasonex for sinusitis. I was supposed to be on it for a month, but I could only handle the side effect symptoms for a week. I wanted to alleviate my sinus symptoms because of the sinus headaches I was getting, but Nasonex just gave me even more intense headaches that made my cheeks and forehead go numb. My nasal cavities are a little clearer, but I can't even function with these headaches. So not worth the trade-off."

"I've been using this mometasone nasal spray for a while, and it worked really well for my allergy symptoms. Since I started the spray, I've been getting unusual migraines constantly, which I rarely get. It was only today that I finally connected the dots and found that the spray is the reason I've been getting these migraines. It works super well for my allergies, but I don't think I can continue because of this side effect!"

"Was prescribed this to treat suspected chronic sinusitis. Well, 2-3 days after starting the spray, my symptoms turned from what looked like allergy (post-nasal drip, clear nasal discharge, sneezing) to a full-on infection, complete with facial pain, very thick yellow/green mucus, severe congestion, headaches, no sleep, mouth breathing at night, virtually no sleep. I went from a functioning person to someone who couldn’t even get the kids off to school in the mornings. Got put on a round of antibiotics, which did nothing, currently waiting on X-ray results to find out what on earth is going on. Be warned, the information sheet early states that this medication can exacerbate an existing viral or bacterial infection, and I’m pretty sure that is what happened here."

"Thank the Lord I found this thread and saw that I’m not the only one who had a bad reaction. I binned this after one use because I have had a pounding headache all day, as well as dizziness, literally walking into things, and have also just had diarrhea. My nose breathing feels sore, like after a heavy head cold, and my throat feels dry and tight. I’ve even felt very low and anxious after feeling great this morning before using it. I will stick to salt water sprays rather than risk this again."

Mometasone nasal "I have a severe s-shaped septum and chronic sinus issues. I found that this drug worked, I started to get my sense of smell back, pressure started to subside, but it caused horrible side effects. I felt tight, like I couldn't breathe properly, very anxious all the time, aching muscles, weakness. I also developed strange, unexpected pains in my chest."

Mometasone nasal "I use Nasonex for sinus/nasal swelling that causes headaches or fluid buildup in my ears. It had always been more effective than antihistamines or anti-inflammatory meds. I have issues with dry mouth, and I think Nasonex aggravates it, but I had to quit Nasonex completely once I got dental implants. I got four dental implants, and Nasonex causes the gum tissue around them to become so sensitive that I get queasy when my cheek rubs against my gums. It takes a long time to get better, and my allergist and dentist are perplexed. There is no redness or sores, in fact, the gums look 100% normal, but the sensitivity is extremely uncomfortable and can last for weeks. It is awful that I have to choose which issue I have to live with. One doctor did say they saw a very, very faint white lace pattern on the gums where it hurt, but everyone else said they saw no sign of something being physically wrong."

"I started with Nasonex mometasone on 7th November, which had been prescribed by an ENT doctor. I had been prescribed this before by my doctor but didn’t use it as I read the side effects were horrendous. I had to use 2 sprays daily. I do wish I had listened to my gut, about a week after using the spray, I started with joint pain, but I just put it down to age and cold weather, not connecting it to Nasonex. Then my eyes started to water and felt heavy. Yesterday, I started to feel anxious, which was not me at all. I then realized it was the Nasonex. I rang my doctors and told them I would be stopping the spray, giving them the reasons. Fortunately, I have an appointment for a CT scan this week and will inform the clinic of my decision. I will never use this again, and I agree with the lady who said it should be taken off the market. I am hoping that these horrible symptoms disappear."

"I started off with blurred vision. I thought it was my contact lenses, so I made an appointment at my optician's for another check-up, which I not long had. My nose felt like it was being wedged open, and like a hangover feeling in my head. The last straw was not an hour after I used it. I went upstairs, I felt light-headed over one eye. I sat on the bed and flopped back. I was so dizzy this frightened me, so I told my GP, who said don't take it again. I am just waiting for it to leave my system. It's left me nervous and feeling a bit down. I have only used it for a week. Never again."

"Went through COVID, loss of sense of smell and taste, as well as an additional acute sinusitis infection. The smell and taste came back much later but were not stable, reduced to a very faint smell the next day or to nothing, a rollercoaster. The infection further reduced the smell. I was prescribed mometasone furoate nasal spray, and for the first day or two, it relieved the pressure, but there were also other side effects. I faced the below symptoms: anxiety, depression, heart palpitations, affected sleep, was not able to sleep at all, blurry vision, oral thrush, tight throat like you can't breathe. I've been asked by my doctor to use it every day (2 sprays in each nostril), but for today, I'm going to stop and see what happens. I feel less on edge not using it. I advise everyone to be careful in using this medication."

"I have used mometasone for almost 10 years for nasal polyps, chronic sinus infections, and seasonal allergies. The only treatment that has worked consistently. Possible long-term use side effects that I have experienced are cataracts, double vision, and suppressed white blood cell and platelet counts. Small price to pay for being able to breathe!"

"Was prescribed after having ear problems and was told to take this as my nurse practitioner saw fluid in a tube behind my eardrum, and boy... I've never had these side effects before... and it's a nasal spray!! Have been taking it for over 2 weeks and my 'full head' feeling has improved, so it seems, and not as unsteady/dizzy as before but the last 2-3 days my anxiety has been horrible!! I used to take meds for it and have been fine without for a while, but all of a sudden, I get these horrible anxious feelings, on edge, even had the heart palpitations but thought it was muscle spasms, but I wonder... The anxiety with this med was worse than I ever had it prior to anxiety meds!! I've also had headaches but was told of this side effect, but the anxiety and not being able to 'feel like you can do anything as you can't take more stress' isn't worth all these extra things! I also had the eye pressure/spasms! Thank you for this site & people posting! It's not just me and I don't feel alone!!"
