For Inflammatory Conditions "Suffered with back pain for years from a car accident. Recently, pain in my lower back and hips became so severe I couldn't do normal things (mopping, bending, etc.) without crippling pain. Woke up every day already in pain. Finally asked my doctor about it and she suggested this. Wasn't very happy as I have used prednisone in the past and hated steroids. Apparently, this works differently. Felt relief after my first dose, and on the 2nd day, woke up in shock because the pain wasn't there. I'm 44 and felt 64 while raising 2 10-year-olds, working, etc. By the end of my shift at work before this, I was in so much pain I didn't want to move. By day 6, the last day of my pack with just one pill, I was worried the pain would return, but my doctor set it up where I started meloxicam the day after I finished my pack, so I took that today. So far so good! Very pleased. Only headache and thirst as side effects."

For Inflammatory Conditions "I am a 34-year-old female with generally good health. Out of nowhere, I started having severe sciatic pain. It became very difficult to just walk around my house due to the pain. I would only get relief from the pain if I would sit or lay down. It eventually got so bad I wasn’t able to lay on my bed or sit without pain anymore. I ended up in the emergency department, where they told me I had 3 bulging discs (1 possibly herniated) from a CT scan. They gave me a steroid and pain medication through an IV and prescribed me this pack to take at home. It worked wonderfully for me! I was finally pain-free after about 2 months of pain. The numbness hasn’t gone away. About a week after I finished the pack, the leg pain returned, but it is minimal. And although I can’t walk perfectly, it is much better. Thankfully, I did not have any side effects from the medication. Now I am able to do the PT exercises, and I continue to make progress."

For Inflammatory Conditions "I had a small cut under my left eye around my birthday (Dec 10th), which then progressed into a full-blown swollen eye, it was so bad that I was up all night crying. And not mostly because people stared at me or didn't want to get 'infected' by being too close. My initial diagnosis was cellulitis, and that was an infection, so I was not prescribed this medication yet. It kept getting worse and soon spread to the other eye. I went to the ophthalmologist, and he gave me a steroidal eye cream after re-diagnosing me with contact dermatitis. It was hell for 3 full weeks. I went back to the doctor, this is now going on 2 months. She gave me this medication, and in 1 day, I could notice a difference. BUT the pills taste AWFUL, like chewing aspirin."

For Osteoarthritis "Was given this dose pack for back pain after a fall by the orthopedic Dr at Urgent Care and was told that 'I wouldn’t need any other pain meds'... had been taking ibuprofen and Tylenol... This medicine was worthless! After 3 days, I have an appt with my PCP..."

For Gout, Acute "At the time I took the first dose, I could barely walk. The first evening I slept without pain. Within 36 hours, I had recovered 95% range of movement with no pain and walked 3 miles. I did not notice any side effects."

"I was prescribed this medication for a severe cold. My nose was running very constantly and I had a productive cough with my eyes watering. As a heart failure patient with insulin-dependent diabetes, I don't like to take steroids. However, I was so miserable that I read the side effects thoroughly, which scared the bejeebies out of me. I'm glad to report that I had none of those side effects. It did take the full 6 days. On the night of the 5th dose, I got tremendous relief of symptoms. I still have a mild nonproductive cough. I consider this a miracle drug and will not hesitate to take it in the future."

For Gout, Acute "I just started with gout a year ago and took no meds aside from OTC. Nearly shut my life down. I had a bad one last month that is still ongoing. Diet changes, everything but this cycle from was from toe to thumb to ankle. I went to urgent care when I thought my ankle would burst. I was on prednisone. It worked well, but when it wears off... I went to ER and got methylprednisolone. I just finished two-day cycles and was 95% better, but I woke up with the cycle restarting in my big toe. Not as bad, but it's definitely there. I'll continue the dosage and hope it clears."

For Gout, Acute "5 years ago, I started belching 24/7, belly felt so full, gas pains in my back, my knee then swelled up, bottom of my back killing me. Then both feet got little pockets under the skin and underneath my big toes (both feet) and little toes to my wrists aching into my arms. Then ankles started hurting. It was a feeling I never had before. The tops of my feet burning so bad, which I put ice on. I could not walk! I feel so bad for people with gout because I know what it feels like, and healthy as I have been until I got gout. I was 39, jogging 10 miles a day, pushing my grandson, 2 weeks old, in a jogger, which he has never left! My doctor tested me, and gout I had. Prednisone works wonders, it was an hour and 15 minutes, and the swelling was gone in my feet, everywhere, the pockets of crystals gone. It's been almost 5 years today and my 2nd outbreak, and I'm headed to get Prednisone. This time is worse than my very first time, but eating and drinking right is why I have only had 2 outbreaks! This one hit fast, too fast."

For Allergic Rhinitis "TBH I don’t really know why my ENT prescribed me this stuff. He just said, “I think I know what your problem is and this should help.” Guess I should’ve probed him for some more information. Side effects have been nuts, though. I can actually breathe, but I worked out by going to cycling, which I usually do weekly... halfway through the workout I wanted to DIE. I was sore as hell, and when I got home to try and sleep, I couldn’t because I was in so much pain. I do think it has added to my already there insomnia, too. It does make me a bit irritable, but the crazier side effect has been my mega increased libido. Craziness."

"After 3 weeks of constant pain down my right leg, physical therapy twice a week, and taking 300 mg of gabapentin and 2 mg of Tizanidine; my niece told me to try the dose pack. I took 2 tablets (4 mg) after breakfast, and within 2 hours NO PAIN!!! I did have a constant headache all day yesterday, but Tylenol helped. I was able to sit without shooting pains. I could do my PT exercises without pain. Pain returned, but not nearly as bad as it had been. Only bad side effects were insomnia all night, thirst, headache, and antsy legs. Hoping tonight goes better. But I would rather go without the pain, and miss some sleep."

For Gout, Acute "This medicine is helpful when gout attacks occur. I am still looking for something to keep gout at bay. Taking allopurinol is not keeping it away for good. This medicine gives quick relief, but it still returns to feet, toes, and top of foot. I have not noticed any side effects. My doctor prescribed it to keep the meds on hand, and at the first sign of flare-up, start taking the meds."

For Immunosuppression "In Nov. 2013, I started to have double vision, and my eyes started to close by themselves. I went to a lot of doctors and had tests, doctors could not find what I had. I went to a neurologist, and he prescribed me this medicine, and an hour or so after taking it, I started to feel fine, and my eyes didn't close."

"I had severe neck pain diagnosed as degenerative disc disease. My doctor's PA prescribed a 'steroid pack' (I don't recall the brand name) and some oxycodone that I asked for. The steroid pack worked practically instantly; and even though I got the oxycodone script filled at the same time, I did not have to take even one! The steroid pack was a decreasing dosage that lasted about a week and worked great."
