"60 yrs old and have severe arthritis in both hands.Difficulty holding objects, joint pain, swelling and PAIN.This drug did absolutely nothing to relieve any of this. After 4weeks I have experienced a lot of weight gain, fatigue, dry mouth, insomnia. Prior to taking Mobic I was ok.Epsom salts does more than this drug with NO side effects"

"22 year old female diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. Rheumatologist switched me from regular higher dose naproxen to meloxicam. All the pain relief I had been having with the naproxen disappeared when I switched over. Got off work the other day to find that I had some rectal bleeding as well. I suffer from depression as well and am medicated for it, but the second I started taking this drug my symptoms got much worse. I believe the meloxicam is causing a big bunch of problems for me, and I only just started taking it."

Mobic (meloxicam) "This is a wonder drug. Having broken both of my ankles in my early 20’s, I am usually in a lot of pain. Especially now that I’m 36 and work in the service industry and am on my feet 13 hours at a time. Before mobic I would come home at night crying and unable to walk the arthritis was so bad. Nothing helped... not ibuprofen not lorcets not anything. My doctor prescribed me Mobic and all I can say is wow. Not only am I completely pain- free at the end of my shifts, my usually awful period cramps are now nonexistent. I was skeptical at first but if you have issues like info, I absolutely cannot recommend this stuff enough:"

"So far so good. No bleeding, pains are a lower, I can move so much better. Doctor paired this with prednisone and seems to be working. Don't take without food. I take first thing in morning with my other meds especially prednisone which won't let me sleep. I have been feeling better. Still nap in afternoon. So glad it's helping. I'll keep posting as needed. No side effects except a bit of stomach upset when I first started, after first week, that disappeared."

"I am a 65 year old male and was given meloxicam for pain in my hands. The med did not reduce my pain for awhile. I had taken for more than 4 months.and noticed that my skin would bruise easily. any cuts on my body would take a long time to heal. I am not diabetic. When my rectum started bleeding,I was told to use an over counter laxative. which helped I just thought I was getting older and this was to be expected. I then read about side-effects and decided to quit taking meloxicam. within a couple of weeks my cuts and bruises healed up. The pain in my hands is coming back, but the side effects were worse for me. I read other peoples comments on line and they seem to love this med.Everyone is different. If it works for you , Great"

"Used 7.5mg now for most of 2018, Meh... It helps some but at 51 years old working outside this winter in OK not overly effective. Elbow joint pain intense on the outside... is that tennis elbow?! It has helped some on my shoulder and neck areas, so: Overall a 6-7 on pain relief"

Mobic (meloxicam) "I have been prescribed 4 different arthritis medicines... Mobic being one of them. Took as directed and took for a minimum of 3 weeks. It didn't help me at all. Steroids seems to be the only thing that help. Had fluid removed from both knees within a week of each other, and then knee surgery (subchondroplasty) in February. I have found no surgery and no medicine has helped. Within a couple days of being off the steroids, both my knees will swell up and I have to use a walker or crutches to walk more than 2 feet."

Mobic (meloxicam) "I have been on mobic about 18 months. I didn’t think it was doing much till I ran out. Then I realised, mobic has reduced my pain and morning stiffness substantially. Very good and doesn’t bother my stomach. I take it after meals in the evening with my plaquenil. Also on plaquenil and prednisolone in the mornings. Trying to get away without using methotrexate"

"Been taking for going on 2 months. Started out on 7.5mg and primary care Doctor increased to 15mg. Does not do anything for me. Still have swelling in hands, feet and wrist. Still in pain, Aleve works better than Mobic for me. Can't get in to see a rheumatologist till May. There has to be something out there better than Mobic."

"Rheumatoid arthritis has taking me so low I don't think anything could pick me up outside of rheumatoid arthritis medicine, meloxicam has also done a number on my body. After two years of trial and error trying to find the right rheumatoid medicine. I was on meloxicam I went from 155 pounds to 198 lbs. Not only was I fat I was mean and ugly. PMS puffy mean and snappy. It's been about a year since I stopped taking meloxicam happily I am now 152 lbs I have peace back in my head by the grace of God I now feel like my old self again."

"I just read all through the comments and they have been very helpful. I’ve been taking meloxicam for about 16 months. Also Gabapentin, omeprozale and 5mg narcos. When I first went to my new doctor I weighed 186 pounds. Mind you I’ve been a slim person all my life. 6’3” and always weighed around 180-200 pounds and I’m 49 right now. Over the course of several months I noticed my stomach was getting bigger and my clothes was much tighter. I went back to my doctor on my 3 month schedule and weighed in as usual and every 3 months I had gained like 9-12 pounds. As others have stated on here about them not changing their diet and it’s the same case with me. My diet hasn’t changed hardly at all and I’m still gaining weight."
