"I was afraid to take it at first, due to lots of negative comments then I decided to start with half dose for a few days then switched to 15 mg. I am having it with food in order to avoid stomach issue and refused to take Omeprazole along with because I don't like using lots of drugs. So far it helped me with my trochanteric bursitis pain. Now I am on my 3rd week like any medicine it has it's own side effects but if you take care of your food then it's not that bad. Yes I feel a little drowsy as soon as I take it but after a while I'm fine..."

"Been on it for 3 days for pain and inflammation due to osteoarthritis. Side effects are bad and I cannot wait for it to be out of my system. Severe headache, dizziness, back pain, bloating, anxiety and insomnia."

"Was prescribed Meloxicam for knee pain following two surgeries to repair meniscus tears. It truly was a wonder drug - knee pain practically gone - mobility increased. Took it for approximately 4 months - 1 x 10 mg. tablet with breakfast. AND THEN ... three weeks ago I woke up - couldn't stand up without fainting and had a tarry black stool. Rushed to hospital. Blood transfusions ... endoscopy revealed a bleeding duodenal ulcer. I had no symptoms - no pain at all. Gastroenterologist confirmed how dangerous this drug is - side effect of internal bleeding is very real. I should have done more research before taking. This is a dangerous drug - that unfortunately worked great to relieve knee pain - but almost killed me!"

"Refilled my prescription two weeks ago after not taking the medication for a few months. It definitely helps with arthritis and back pain but this time I've gained 6lbs instantly. Didn't change anything in my diet and increased my exercise. Stomach boating is terrible. Be cautious when taking this medicine. Will be using this sparingly and only if needed."

"In 1976 I had a motorcycle accident & tore the cartilage in my knee. Back then, they didn't know any better & my cartilage was surgically removed. I have rubbed bone on bone for 38 years & suffer from osteoarthritis. I have taken MANY pills for pain relief & nothing has really seemed to give me relief until now. I took my first 15mg dose on Tuesday evening. The very next morning I was able to get out of bed and walk with nearly no pain. In addition, the swelling in my leg was significantly reduced. I highly recommend talking to your Dr. about prescribing this to you for osteoarthritis."

"My doctor prescribed Meloxicam 7.5 mg tablet to me in March 2021 when a Baker's cyst in my knee burst. I've had osteoarthritis for at least 10 years, and my knee pain has been getting worse. I am 5'9" and weigh between 152-160 lbs, not overweight. I am a competitive runner in my age group, and when I took it for the healing of the Baker's cyst, my knee pain just disappeared. After the Baker's cyst healed, I continued to take Meloxicam occasionally as needed for knee pain. It works very well and with no side effects, as others have mentioned in their reviews, none! It allowed me to continue running competitively. I am now 66 (2023) and have stopped running to prolong my ability to hike and bike without undue knee pain, but I still take Meloxicam when my knees get too painful, and it still works without any side effects. It is a very small pill, easy to swallow, easy to use, and you don't have to be concerned about food or caffeine (I like my caffeinated tea!) when you take Meloxicam. Great stuff taken in moderation."

Mobic (meloxicam) "I have experienced increasing neck pain over the last 3 years with the last year being marked by going through a bottle of 160 count Advil every month and a half. Neck pain would lead to muscle tightness which led to headaches and it was rare that I could go through a day without popping a 6-12 over the counter pain relievers/anti-inflammatory pills. I have been on Mobic for a month now and thus far no noticeable side effects - and the lid has stayed on the bottle of Advil since day 1 of the prescription."

"I may be young at heart, but at 48 I am being told I have the hip of a "90 year old." I have been suffering from left hip OA pain for the past 10 years. Up until 1 year ago, injections have eased the pain. Unfortunately they are no longer effective and I am told I must have a hip replacement. I have been using ibuprofen, then Aleve, then prescription Celebrex, with minimal relief. Just 5 days ago I consulted with a surgeon who stopped other NSAIDS and started me on meloxicam. I was leery but gave it a try. The following day I was amazed at the relief I received. I can now walk stairs with minor difficulty, compared to maximum difficulty before. I would have definitely recommend to anyone suffering from OA pain."

"I agree it's a miracle drug. In my case I've had 2 spine surgeries due to stenosis. After 6 years post op for spinal fusion I had an excruciating pain mid buttock. Pain Dr talked with my surgeon and decided mobic was the answer and it was for a year. My biggest complaint was weight gain. 20 lbs in one year of using so I stopped and pain is back and worse then before. I'll try one every other day to see if I can lose weight but I can't function without it."

"I have tried over a dozen different NSAIDs over the years. The most effective was indomethacin but the side effects make it intolerable. Nothing I have tried works as well as meloxicam with no apparent side effects."

Mobic (meloxicam) "I've been on Mobic a week. I'm not noticing a lot of help with the pain. I am very tired all the time, even though I only take 7.5 mg once a day. Also, I'm starting to notice problems with my short term memory, not being able to think of words, etc. This is the only new med I'm taking. "

Mobic (meloxicam) "I found that mobic 15mg is the only medication that takes away my pain and it does it within an hour! Caution: I didn’t know it was an NSAID and also took another NSAID - Aleve (naproxen) with it. My entire body was bruised and I couldn’t figure out why at first. I’m lucky I made it through. I only take it as needed when the pain is unbearable."

Mobic (meloxicam) "Mobic was prescribed to me by my podiatrist after finding that I have Posterior Tibial Tendonitis, Osteoarthritis in my big toe joint, and a heel spur all on my left foot. I find that 7.5 mg Mobic has really helped with the Osteoarthritis and other aches and pains that I have developed in the past few years. I find it best to take before bed, as I have a 4 month old daughter to take care of. Throughout the day I am taking Tramadol, wrapping, and icing my foot for pain relief. I find that the combination works really well. In the middle of the night I am ready and able to take care of my baby girl."

"I am 63 yr old softball playing male who developed severe knee pain. My orthopedic doctor told me arthritis and wrote me a prescription of 7.5 mg Meloxicam once a day. I tried to get through my week with 2 or 3 pills due to possible bad side effects. I found that it works much better if you take daily. This drug is much better than over the counter meds. I wish the side effects were not so severe but I do enjoy walking and my softball again."

Mobic (meloxicam) "I was hit by a car over 10 years ago and have severe back pain because of it. I kept being prescribed opioids for the pain, but I can’t live like that so my doctor prescribed Mobic since I was taking to many ibuprofen a day and it obviously started upsetting in my kidneys. First, he gave me 7.5mg per day, but that wasn’t nearly enough, so he upped me to 2 a day. It makes me feel good, better than anything else I’ve ever taken for my back pain. However, if it only lasts an hour or two. If I wanted to be without unbearable pain all day I’d have to take more of them. But 2 works for now and it is wonderful!"

Mobic (meloxicam) "Mobic seemed to work great to reduce my arthritis pain. However, it gave me a headache and my other MD said Prozac can't be taken with Mobic because both increase the risk of gastric bleeding etc Also, it gave me shortness of breath. I thought it reduced my pain but my doc says arthritis pain comes and goes, so maybe not. Be careful if you also take an antidepressant - many don't react well with Mobic."

Mobic (meloxicam) "Was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my knee today. Pain was so bad last night, I only slept on and off. I was in tears and the spasms were constant. 600mg of ibuprofen didn't touch it. My doctor prescribed Mobic and Osteo Bi-flex. Took my first dose at 2pm. By 8pm that evening all pain and spasms were gone and I will be able to sleep pain free tonight. I am so happy I could cry - the relief is like gold in my pocket! I can walk without limping or shuffling for the first time in 2 weeks."

"I was on this drug for years. Gained about 40 lbs but it did help the pain in my hands, However recently I have been bruising so bad it looks like I've been abused. The bruising definitely got worse over time. I had a scratch on my arm recently that ended up in a 6"x1" bruise. I have other worse bruises. I've stopped taking meloxicam now"

Mobic (meloxicam) "Mobic has been great for my arthritis. I've had Mobic prescribed by several different doctors over the past 10 years and 1) haven't had a problem with it, and 2) it's one of the only medications that helps with my arthritis, which I have in just about every joint but my elbows. Ibuprofen works too but I started retaining fluid and swelling up after taking it off and on for several years. Hope nothing similar happens w Mobic as it's a godsend."

"I have had knee pain due to two surgeries and also very bad lower back pain. I went to the doctor to see what could be done for the knee pain and have been on Meloxicam for a week. I am taking one pill at 15mg and within two days I have no back pain or knee pain and am running again. Previously I was taking only 7.5mg and it did not seem to work. Since the dosage was increased to 15 mg, I no longer have pain. This drug has done wonders for me in the last few weeks and I can now sleep well without lower back pain and no pain in my knee. So happy that Meloxicam is out there and working!"

"On day 2 right now (15mg-1daily) and 3 hours after taking it, I'm feeling very anxious, asthma like symptoms (I do have asthma), and nausea. NOT continuing and will be calling the dr. I'll be using aleve and PT to manage my arthritis that just flared and got diagnosed. I can't take a ZPak either as it is too strong on my stomach. 41 yrs old and healthy. Also gained 5 pounds in 2 days! Not normal to gain like that as my weight has been consistent lately... lost 60 lbs last year. very scary reading these posts and info. I feel like we are just being poisoned with all these drugs!"

"Was on Celebrex 200 2x a day for years. Pain was too much when dose reduced. Was changed to Meloxicam 15 1x a day and works just as good. For reviewer with plantar fascitis, had it for months. What works is a quality pair of compression foot sleeves. Foot pain was gone after wearing them for 3-4 days. Wear them all day, everyday. (FS6 brand)."

"I have arthritis in my right knee. I am currently taking allopurinol and have been for 17 years due to gout in my left big toe. On the day in question, I took my allopurinol pill in the morning as I have since 2002. In the evening of the same day, at dinner time, I took one tablet of Meloxicam 7.5 mg with dinner. To help with the inflammation in my right knee. Within two hours, my left big toe was causing me terrible pain and looked like a red bulb on a Christmas tree. I am writing this report 24 hours later and my left big toe still hurts like someone stomped on it. I took another pill of allopurinol last night and one this morning, but the pain persists. My advice to you: do NOT take this medicine if you have goût. It will not cure your pain, but will cause you tremendous agony. I only took one dose. Never again!"
