For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "40 mg once a day stopped my bleeding before my open myomectomy to remove my fibroids. I took it for 3 weeks before my procedure and was able to keep on working and performing (I’m a singer) before my operation. This medication stopped my bleeding better than the Mirena IUD and other BC pills while I had my 10cm fibroid inside of me. My appetite didn’t really change and I did not gain weight. I highly recommend this pill vs other options."

Megace (megestrol) for Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I've always had heavy bleeding and clotting the size of baseballs. I had my first daughter in 2020 at the age of 27 and previously thought I could not conceive since I'd never gotten pregnant before (not really a fan of contraceptives in long-term relationships). Newly married and had no luck getting pregnant, I began treatment for a tissue/mass found in my ultrasounds, my GYN prescribed me Megace and advised me to take 2/day to hopefully stop the bleeding. I was hesitant to take it after reading reviews and finally took my dose as it was getting closer to my next period. It made me feel horrible and nauseous, couldn't do anything but sleep, and had brain fog. I never took it again. I wanted to explore getting a DandC and decided I wouldn't take the medication and planned to have a f/u visit with my GYN to discuss alternatives. Well... 2 1/2 weeks later and 3 days late on my period, I took a pregnancy test and it was positive. My theory: I believe Megace somehow helped me conceive during ovulation."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I started taking in 2019. I started out taking ten tablets a day. Which was horrible for me. I can barely take a Tylenol. But I had been bleeding every two weeks lasting two weeks. I thought I was gonna bleed to death. I had become anemic. My doctor prescribed it. It took a while to work. I have thickening of uterine lining causing bleeding. I gained 20 lbs :( quick. But it stopped bleeding. But now it's raising my blood sugar. I can't have that. So back to drawing board.:("

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I was given megestrol 40 mg twice a day, on what should have been the 5th day of my period. Extremely heavy period, went to the emergency room on day two. I've been taking it for 3 days now. Still having pink/brown spotting. I don't know if this ever ends or what?"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "After having HRT at age 58, I started a menstrual period that lasted four months. I then had a D&C procedure. I started bleeding again after three weeks for another two months. I was referred to an Oncologist who put me on Megestral 40mg (2-x40 twice daily). My bleeding stopped after three doses. I have been on this medication for three months now. I have had some shakiness and pain on my side but no other side effects. I think the pain is from the healing of my uterus. I feel thankful that my bleeding stopped and that there is no surgery at this time. I see the Oncologist in one month to evaluate the next step."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I'm curious if anyone has been tested for von Willebrand disease in light of experiencing abnormal bleeding and clots. It wasn't until years later, when my child was diagnosed with hemophilia, that I realized my prolonged bleeding wasn't normal. As it turned out, I have the gene for the disease in my family, and heavy bleeding is a sign of it. My hematologist and gynecologist are working together to find a solution, and DDP or other medications have helped to alleviate my symptoms. Testing for von Willebrand's disease has made a big difference in my diagnosis and treatment."
