Claritin-D (loratadine / pseudoephedrine) for Allergic Rhinitis "So I took this product for the first time and all I can say is they need to find away to create medicine that side effects aren't worse then what your using it to treat . I have major allergies but I'd rather suffer with a the stuffy runny nose sinus headache itchy watery eyes and cough then to ever take this medication again. It's just not worth all the side effects."

Claritin-D (loratadine / pseudoephedrine) for Nasal Congestion "Claritin D does not releive congestion like it used to. Had cold so tried claritan did not feel any type of relief from nasal congrstion. Usually after you would take it you would feel the medicine clearing up the congestion now you don't feel any relief. Which means they are using an inferior type of pseuodephedrine( not sure of exact spelling) this is the ingredient that's suppose to dry up congrestion I used to feel a slight pulling in my sinuses as it was really drying up the mucus from a cold Now. Nothing!! This products does not work like it used to they are using inferior low grade medicine!!!"

Claritin-D 24 Hour (loratadine / pseudoephedrine) for Nasal Congestion "Big mistake taking my first Claritin D 24 at 7PM for sinus pressure from using a nasal decongestant the day before and getting a rebound effect of clogged breathing passages. Didn't sleep a wink all night!! My nasal passages are wide open though, so it works. However, insomnia is a real pain. It's 6AM and I feel like it should be 1AM bedtime. I'll be struggling through the day today. Restless In Philly."

Claritin-D (loratadine / pseudoephedrine) for Nasal Congestion "Well, it definitely worked as far as my runny nose and nasal congestion went. It stopped all my allergy symptoms but It kept me up close to 48 hours. I didn't bother googling this until day two. I took the first pill around 6pm, was up all night and into the afternoon of the next day. My symptoms started to reappear just as I began to get a little sleepy at work so I took another one, somehow I still didn't quite connect my sleeplessness with the Claritin D. Well I was up the entire second night and while I was literally pacing I decided to google this and found that insomnia is a side effect of the pseudoephedrine. Didn't take the pill again and on the third day, around 2pm, I was ready to pass out. Literally, I had to catch a ride from work because I couldn't stay up."

Claritin-D (loratadine / pseudoephedrine) for Allergic Rhinitis "Have terrible post nasal drip. Claritan is the only thing that works. No generics as good. Do find that the med works half the time it says it does;12 hr works for 6, 24 ? About 8. I take 12 hr twice a day in spring and fall. Deal with the hrs it's not working. Doesn't interfere with my sleep."

Claritin-D 24 Hour (loratadine / pseudoephedrine) for Allergic Rhinitis "Works great most of the time. The problem is the price is going up and up. The other problem is the restriction on the amount that can be purchased at one time. I take one everyday but I can only buy 15 at a time and only 30 in a month. It's hard to believe that the sale of the medicine has to be controlled. On the last day of the month I have to wait until the next day to buy the med - so stupid. Especially when traveling and I can't purchase some in advance. It should be prescription again so I can receive 30 at one time."

Claritin-D (loratadine / pseudoephedrine) for Nasal Congestion "Two years ago in the spring I had bad allergies with a stuffy nose so I tried Claratin D for a few weeks. I had lots of energy , heart palpitations , insomnia and anxiety. Then I started breaking out in a rash so I stopped taking the Claratin. It seems like the Claratin made me develop more allergies because I break out in hives almost daily since I took it. Wished I had never taken it."

Claritin-D (loratadine / pseudoephedrine) for Nasal Congestion "I used the 12-hour version. It works, but not for 12 hours. Lasted only about 3 hours, then symptoms returned. So, having to wait until the 12 hours is up to take more really sucks. Needs to be an every 4 hours drug."

Claritin-D 12 Hour (loratadine / pseudoephedrine) for Nasal Congestion "After suffering with nasal congestion and trying a variety of allergy medicines, I tried using Claritin-D. Although it didn't clear up the nasal congestion, at first I did seem to feel better. THEN, the side effects started: extreme dry mouth, stomach pain, headaches, feeling nervous, faster heart rate, constipation, tingly feeling under my skin, insomnia, urinating less than usual; After quitting the medicine I also had high blood pressure, fear & anxiety (I was afraid to be alone so my grown children came to stay with me several days). I wouldn't take it again!!!"

Claritin-D 12 Hour (loratadine / pseudoephedrine) for Nasal Congestion "Best decongestant I have ever taken. As effective as any sinus rinse but a lot less annoying to take a pill! One slight side effect: minor headaches. Do not take Claritin D-24 on a daily basis - it is too strong and caused dizziness."

Claritin-D (loratadine / pseudoephedrine) for Nasal Congestion "I get migraines before thunderstorms (also get them frequently anyway). I switched to Claritin D 24 hour because Zyrtec D 12 hour, while good for allergies, wasn’t relieving the pressure in my head during a thunderstorm or barometric change in the weather. I took the Claritin around 6pm and it’s thunderstorming at 11:38 pm and for sure the Claritin prevented me from getting a headache. Also relieved sinus pressure. I can tell this med can interfere with sleep but I have to take sleep medicine anyway so insomnia isn’t a concern for me. I will try to this medicine a few hours before thunderstorms are supposed to start. It’s great, I just wish it was cheaper."

Claritin-D (loratadine / pseudoephedrine) for Nasal Congestion "My doctor recommended Claritin-D since I have been having problems with my ears relating to allergies. I took one pill at night thinking it would make me drowsy when it did the exact opposite. I was wide awake the entire night, my heart was racing and I was beyond jittery. I even felt paranoid at one point. I took one of my hydroxyzine pills in hopes it would help, it didn’t. I already have anxiety and I felt like I was on the verge of having a panic attack on this medicine. The next day I feel dizzy still and my mouth is dry. I would not recommend this medicine at night especially if you already have anxiety."

Claritin-D (loratadine / pseudoephedrine) for Allergic Rhinitis "My experiences have been hit or miss. Sometimes I will take Claritin D and immediately feel better. Other times like this one now that has led me to this thread... I have had congestion and watery eyes for 24 hours. Now after taking Claritin D my nose won’t stop running and my eyes are even worse. This has happened before so I will be switching allergy medications soon."

Claritin-D (loratadine / pseudoephedrine) for Allergic Rhinitis "Took it for a severe seasonal allergy attack about 9:30 this morning. It knocked out the allergies but knocked me out also. It’s 3:55 and I just woke up but my head is foggy, body is wobbly, and I can hear the blood pulsing through my head. Probably about to go back to sleep, staying awake is taking too much effort. Too strong for me. Husband takes it regularly with no side effects."

Claritin-D 12 Hour (loratadine / pseudoephedrine) for Allergic Rhinitis "I've taken Claritin D-12H, for years. The drainage down my throat and stuffy nose disappears. Tried the 24-H formula and had inconsistent results in those 24 hrs. Doesn't cause me to be hyper or awake. Claritin D-12H is truly the best! I'm 61 years old and have tried other alternatives when Claritin D-12H is not available and not got close to the relief of Claritin D-12H. Makes life enjoyable again."

Claritin-D (loratadine / pseudoephedrine) for Nasal Congestion "Use to work like a charm for me. Now it doesn’t really begin to work until 3 days later. Anyways I just recently have a allergy flare up. And it didn’t begin to work until day 4. Basically I was doing Claritin D 24 every night with without any relief so I began taking a plain Claritin in the morning. Instant relief taking both butr I’m no sure it’s recommended. Anyways now my ear has been clogged for 3 days. Even after trying Claritin D , Flonase, saline spray, no relief. A doctor now has me on Sudafed for my ear clogging. Let’s see if this works"

For Nasal Congestion "I found Alavert to be extremely affective with two side effects and depending on how bad you feel they might not bother you. I noticed I had a ton of energy and couldn't go to sleep so I found myself cleaning. My house is better because of it. I also found myself getting up to pee almost every hour once I feel asleep. All in all it relieved my headache, dizziness and nasal congestion."

Claritin-D (loratadine / pseudoephedrine) for Nasal Congestion "I take the 24 hour CVS brand (Claritin D) ONLY when I'm really bad congested. And I also get post nasal drip when my allergies act up. It works 100 percent clears up my nose and stops the post nasal drip. Also helps with my headache to I get from my allergies acting up. I definitely experience the jitters and dry mouth.. I have an anxiety disorder so that's the part I don't because the jitters makes me fill more anxious. It does not effect my sleep like I read it does others. I take it every blue moon only when I'm really bad congested. I can handle the side effects."

For Nasal Congestion "OMG I went to the doctor ( $75 copay) and then was prescribed this OTC legal “drug”. I tried to go to work and it felt like I was on something illegal. The pseudoephedrine ingredient caused me to hallucinate, couldn’t focus at all and I had the worst anxiety ever. I tried to rest and I had horrible racing thoughts and really strange negative thoughts too. It was awful. I don't think it helped my runny nose and “allergies”. It just made me feel mentally unwell. The side effect was far worse than it helping. I wouldn’t take this again if you paid me!"

For Allergic Rhinitis "My 13-yr old has seasonal allergies (Spring) which, of course, vary each year. This year is worse - more congestion, coughing and itchy throat. Normally Claritin does the trick but tried Claritin-D 24 hr. Helped with the additional symptoms but on the second day my child had trouble sleeping, complained that heart beat was faster, was anxious. After reading other reviews of loratadine/pseudoephedrine realized these are indeed side effects and will have go back to regular Claritin (without the pseudoephedrine)."
