For High Blood Pressure "I was prescribed this drug recently by my doctor for treating my high blood pressure. In reducing BP, it was wonderful, and I went from a BP of 143/105 to 95/71 using one of the lowest doses of this drug (5 mg). However, I felt dizzy and faint, feeling like I was going to pass out, and I was afraid to take a second dose. I was sweating so much, even in my sleep. That night, I woke up sweating, and with a dry mouth, a strange cough was beginning to appear in my lungs. I knew all this dehydration could not be good for my recently diagnosed CKD, and so I stopped using it immediately. Within a few days, I felt back to my normal self. Still, I don't know the extent of internal damage caused by using it just once. I have decided to reduce my BP through"

For High Blood Pressure "Blood pressure was constantly 170-190 over 90-125. My doctor prescribed lisinopril, and immediately my blood pressure has returned to normal of 120-130 over 70-80. Only side effect is sometimes a light dizziness if I stand up too fast."

For High Blood Pressure "6 months at 2.5 mg a day. A little dizzy at first, now take before bedtime. Pressure was 160-110, now around 130-80. Random dry cough lasts about 10 minutes and goes away quicker if I don't cough real hard. Also, very detailed vivid dreams, but not bad or nightmares. 52 years old, exercise 3 times a week and 20 lbs overweight for 6 ft. Don't like pills, but feel much better. No more pounding heart at rest, but need a 1/2 hour nap after 8 hr work. Nap could be age-related though! I'll stick with this for a while."

For High Blood Pressure "My doctor had me on a 20 mg dose once a day. It made me really dizzy. Some mornings when I would sit up in bed, I would fall over from almost passing out. I later found out that lisinopril is a synthetic medication related to a natural snake venom."

For High Blood Pressure "I’ve been taking this drug for about a week (half a pill once a day). I experienced a dizzy feeling, then last night after a nap, I went to the restroom, and to my dismay, when I checked my face in the mirror, the left bottom part of my lip was very swollen. It scared me so much that when I checked my blood pressure, it was 186/114. I calmed down, took a hot shower, and checked my pressure, and it was back to normal. Today, my lip is almost back to normal. I’ll never take this again. Like other reviews I’ve read, I will continue to eat right and exercise. I’m not overweight at all, and I will overcome the condition. Maybe the drug helped to bring the pressure under control, but now I’ll keep it there."

For High Blood Pressure "I was prescribed Lisinopril following a BP reading of 140/90 during a bout with pneumonia. All my life, I have been healthy, am in 2 separate careers where much outdoor activity is the norm rather than the exception. Within minutes of taking the prescribed dosage, I broke out in a severe sweat, developed dizziness, light-headedness, dryness in the mouth, and then a severe case of hives developed."

For High Blood Pressure "Have been taking lisinopril with hydrochlorothiazide for about a year. Have been experiencing dry cough and dizziness. Also, it has not controlled blood pressure. Recently, have been coughing harder and longer. At my last visit, my doctor changed my medicine, stating that it can cause angioedema. My siblings have had the same experience. Bad drug. Do research before taking any medication."

For High Blood Pressure "Doctor said I don't have high blood pressure, but he states that he would like to see my blood pressure lower than what it is. I started off with 10 mg, and I had a dry cough every once in a while, but what I have noticed is that my body always felt hot. But now I can put my hand on my neck, and I don't feel hot anymore. Oh, by the way, my doctor stated that the blood pressure did drop and to continue to use it. Now that I'm remembering, at first I was dizzy and felt weird, but after 3 months, I feel no more dizziness. I'll continue to use it."

"Out of a 10-day hospital stay for Covid and was terribly weak. Saw the doctor a week later and, because I also have congestive heart failure and type II diabetes (a horse kicked out half my pancreas and all my spleen when I was 21 -- about a million years ago), he wanted to put me on lisinopril not so much for BP, which was not a problem at all, but to support heart and kidney function. One pill two days ago. Within hours, my BP tanked and I was shivering in bed for about 6 or 7 hours, with the electric blanket on high. Spent the night with my head spinning. I did not connect any of that with the lisinopril (how much can that tiny little pill do?) until about five in the morning, by which time I was waking up my husband with moaning from feeling like someone had socked me in the middle. For several hours that morning, my blood pressure was in the 80's over the 40's. It's back up to its normal of 100-125/75-85. No more messing with it! Needless to say, no more of that nonsense."

For Diabetic Kidney Disease "My GP doctor changed my blood pressure medicine from 5 mg Amlodipine Besylate/50 mg Metoprolol to 5 mg Lisinopril/50 mg Metoprolol to protect my kidneys. Over a forty-day period, my Lisinopril dosage was increased in stages from 5 mg to 40 mg in an attempt to get the same BP results I had with Amlodipine. Prior to taking Lisinopril, my blood pressure was around 135/75. As the amount of Lisinopril was increased, my blood pressure kept increasing. After 40 days, it was around 175/85 (maximum 200/100). I take my blood pressure 3-4 times per day. I experienced increased confusion, tiredness, dizziness, weakness, and constipation as the dosage of Lisinopril was increased. I went back on Amlodipine and made an appointment with my cardiologist."

For High Blood Pressure "I was rushed to the ER back in February because I was puking off and on through the whole day, and when I was hooked up to the monitor, my BP wouldn't go down; it was about 120/112 at the highest. They put me on lisinopril 10, and I've been on it since. There was only 1 time that I felt dizzy/lightheaded; so I stopped it for 2 days because what I think happened was my BP went too low. So my score is 8 out of 10 that it helps with high BP."

For High Blood Pressure "Started on Solco 10 mg, then worked up to 40 mg. The main side effect I had with this medication is dizziness, especially without any hypotensive readings. Worked well to bring my 165/100 readings down to a range between 125/75 and 135/85. Did not experience dry coughing or anything of that nature, though occasionally my heart rate will spike to 130+ BPM and remain there for a handful of minutes at minimum, forcing me to sit down for a second to bring myself back to normal. Got switched to Lupin at one point. It gave me headaches, bad blood pressure readings (by a few points), and flaky skin. Went back to Solco, and I'm generally better. I recommend choosing whichever manufacturer makes you feel better, obviously, experiences are different for everyone."
