Levaquin (levofloxacin) for Sinusitis "I would rate this a 20 star if it was an option. I have take Levaquin for Pneumonia, kidney infections, sinus infections. It always works twice as fast and twice as well as the other antibiotics that are usually prescribed. One of many non working antibiotics led my Dad to an ICU visit, in 24 hours he was a different person after being so sick. Levaquin can quickly turn things around."

Levaquin (levofloxacin) for Pneumonia "This medicine is amazing, and I would like to thank all the inventors and people involved in developing and commercializing this medication. I was afflicted with pneumonia, and after I started taking it, I began seeing a benefit within 24-48 hours. Seven days of treatment did the job, and I have myself back."

Levaquin (levofloxacin) for Sinusitis "I have had chronic sinusitis for 30 years. Sometimes 4 per year, and we had to do cultures to make sure we got the right bug after having numerous antibiotics fail. I think allergies and maybe viral infections start it off, and then it turns into an infection. This medication has worked for me over the last 10 years, although we have used other drugs to good effect. I have had few side effects except for dizziness and some brain fog for a few hours after taking the drug. It works very quickly on my infections, but I do worry about side effects. I have been an avid weight lifter and never slowed down while on this med and had no issues with tendons or aches. This time I will take it a little easier and just keep my joints and muscles moving!"

Levaquin (levofloxacin) for Urinary Tract Infection "I get urinary tract infections quite frequently, about 4 to 6 per year, and I am always prescribed Levaquin. By the third dose, I begin to feel better, but I start getting the bad side effects: stomach upset, vomiting, and diarrhea. It also makes me very fatigued."

Levaquin (levofloxacin) for Urinary Tract Infection "Took Cipro and Bactrim during chemo and radiation. Did not work, may have been because of the chemo and radiation, just not sure. I am now on my 3rd of 5-day Levaquin dose and passed my AZO UTI over-the-counter test this morning, yeah. Two months of a UTI is a bit much, although I now know what works for the future."

Levaquin (levofloxacin) for Urinary Tract Infection "I react to every antibiotic out there. Levaquin is the only one I can take with no side effects. This is an excellent drug and gets rid of my urinary tract infections fast, with no yeast infection after it."

Levaquin (levofloxacin) for Urinary Tract Infection "Less than a year ago I was a healthy athletic person had a full-time physical job. After 4 days on this medication I began to suffer side effects and quit taking it. Now my life is ruined. I can't walk I'm going blind and deaf and I live in constant pain as if somebody took a sledgehammer and pounded my whole lower body and my condition is worsening everyday . The side effects of fluoroquinolone poisoning are horrible way of slowly dying. By the way it didn't do anything for my supposed UTI. Couple days of drinking cranberry juice did the trick."

For Bacterial Infection "I’m now past month 6 of recovery from Levofloxacin. I took 9 pills of that awful antibiotic for a suspicion of a bacterial infection. In the first two months, I got all the side effects on the menu: neuropathy (hands, legs and face feel like they are burning), tingling in my feet, constant headache and tingling in head, depression (crying and suicidal thoughts for most of the day), joint pain (specially my knees), bladder control issues, penile dysfunction (can’t ejaculate at all). I saw 10's of doctors during that period; neurologists, urologists, Infectious disease doctors, Rheumatologists .. etc. All offer nothing but sympathy and NSAIDs (which I never took). DO NOT TAKE THIS DRUG levofloxacin .. IT WILL BE THE WORST DECISION IN YOUR LIFE"

Levaquin (levofloxacin) for Pneumonia "Took Cipro for a Pseudomonas infection and then five months later took Levaquin. Joint and tendon pain just kept getting worse, and I'm still suffering from these side effects two months after discontinuing."

Levaquin (levofloxacin) for Kidney Infections "I was hospitalized for 3 days and given the IV antibiotic Rocephin for a kidney infection. After being discharged, I was given a 4-day course of Levaquin, 750 mg dosage. Side effects started within hours, first nerve pain (peripheral neuropathy) in the soles of my feet, then within a day extended up to my knees and from my fingertips to my shoulders. After the 3rd pill, muscle weakness appeared alongside the nerve pain. I was lucky that within 10 days of taking my last pill, all side effects were gone. I was told by my regular GP to never take the fluoroquinolone class of antibiotics again. This is a serious drug, and the nerve pain I experienced could have been permanent. I'd only recommend taking fluoroquinolones as a last resort. Read the FDA black box warnings, and if your doctor doesn't take them seriously, I'd find a new GP."

Levaquin (levofloxacin) for Sinusitis "I have had a serious sinus infection for 5 years now. It's been getting better, but it flares up every few months. Ten days ago, during the last flare-up, the doctor prescribed ten days of Levaquin. On the first day, I experienced strange dreams/nightmares, but I stuck with it. My sinuses haven't been this clear since before the initial infection, even though other antibiotics were tried and failed. The real test will be weeks or months after I'm done with this dose. For now, Levaquin is the best thing I've taken for these sinus problems. Within 48 hours, my sinuses felt clear again, and now I'm starting to feel normal - for the first time in 5 years."

Levaquin (levofloxacin) for Bronchitis "I was prescribed 500mg for 5 days, for bronchitis, I also suffer from COPD. I couldn't sleep a bit, breathing got a lot worse, headache, palpitations, tendons hurt so bad I couldn't hardly move. I have been off of them for 6 days now, I'm worse than I was. I will never take these again, they are horrible."

Levaquin (levofloxacin) for Bronchitis "I have a very bad bout of bronchitis. I'm on day 5, and I don't feel markedly improved. The coughing is not quite as often, however, when I do cough, the phlegm feels thicker, and the coughing spasms are more violent. It could be because the Mucinex is now wearing off. I just had higher expectations. Now I'm nervous because I don't feel like my condition is improving. And the sound and feel of the mucus is a lot worse, but no side effects."

Levaquin (levofloxacin) for Urinary Tract Infection "I am a 27-year-old woman and was prescribed Levaquin 500 mg for 7 days (by my OB-GYN for a suspected UTI post-surgery-I had a D and C). I hardly ever have UTIs. My Levaquin, with insurance, was $55. I do not take pharmaceutical drugs regularly, but I figured since this was post-surgery, I should do as the doctor says. I read the drug pamphlet before taking the pill. On day 3 of taking Levaquin, I started muscle twitching in my right middle toe. I researched reviews of this drug on the internet and stopped immediately."

Levaquin (levofloxacin) for Urinary Tract Infection "A few hours after the first dose, my arm muscles started burning like I just lifted a bunch of weights, and my neck was hurting on one side, but I think it was because I was so tense and worried about taking it. These symptoms lasted for about two or three more doses, then went away. Took my last pill today, and the only other side effects I had were headache and lightheadedness, and my heart would beat faster every now and then."

Levaquin (levofloxacin) for Pneumonia "I was prescribed Levaquin for pneumonia. After two days, I felt so much better. I had some lower back pain, which I expected, as I know medications well. I am a practicing RN for 23 years. My appetite was poor but has improved. I had some mouth pain with probable thrush related to the antibiotic. 750 mg x 5 days was worth it!!"

Levaquin (levofloxacin) for Sinusitis "I was prescribed Levaquin after suffering for 2 weeks with a severe cold and sinusitis. The Levaquin took care of the cold, but I got such severe tendonitis in my right ankle the day after stopping a 10-day course of it that I couldn't even touch my foot to the floor. It has improved by staying off my feet and icing - ice is really your friend here - but almost two months later, I am still icing and wearing a brace, and now the pain has migrated up my leg. But the real problem is that I have breast cancer for the second time, and the doctors do not want to operate until my body is infection-free and inflammation-free. My son's way to ice is the best: ice the spot with a cube until it has completely melted."

Levaquin (levofloxacin) for Bacterial Infection "I took 1 pill of 500 mg Levaquin for an epididymitis. About 2 hours later, I was experiencing a lot of side effects, such as anxiety, fast heart rate, heart palpitations, muscle spasms, dizziness, and insomnia. The next few days, I experienced major tendon pain and muscle spasms/pain that I have never had before. Instead of Levaquin, I was prescribed Bactrim. Hopefully, this antibiotic does the trick without destroying my body in the process. It’s honestly a shot in the dark with all of the antibiotics on the market, which is truly a disappointment and shame. You never know whether the side effects from the antibiotic might be worse than the actual disease/infection it’s intended to treat. Just shows how messed up America’s healthcare system really is. I hope you all never have to take an antibiotic again! I know there will be way better treatments within the next 10 years."

Levaquin (levofloxacin) for Streptococcal Infection "Not allergic to anything. On Day 15 round of antibiotics in February, so needed something stronger to wipe out this diphtheria and strep throat. Could barely swallow yesterday. Took a pill yesterday, went to bed, woke up with a headache that was manageable, along with some dizziness that is getting better. A little bit of pain in joints and some very soft stool this morning, but I was thankful for that. I already can swallow today without much pain and feel about 20% better, so it must be working at a fast rate. I am thankful. Only taking it for 7 days, 500 mg."

Levaquin (levofloxacin) for Bacterial Infection "If you live, for decades after taking levaquin, you will experience multiple tendon ruptures, in your arms, shoulders, legs and achillies tendons. All your muscles will forever be weak and your reflexes slow. Do not take, under any circumstances, unless you want to destroy your health."

For Streptococcal Infection "I usually get strep throat about twice in the winter, first time being on this antibiotic, and within hours I noticed the pain dwindling away. Please drink plenty of water as advised. Didn't drink enough water on the second day and had a major headache, dizziness, and nausea. I started pounding water, and it eventually passed. When it kicks in, it did make me nervous, but it subsided after about 10 minutes!"

Levaquin (levofloxacin) for Sinusitis "Levaquin is not for me, even though it did help clear up my sinus infection. The tendonitis and joint pain were just too much for me. What they fail to tell you is that with lots of people who take this drug, the side effects do NOT go away with discontinuation of the drug. I now feel like I have arthritis in my hips, knees, elbows, and hands that simply will not go away, and I blame the Levaquin for these lingering symptoms. I would not recommend the drug to anyone unless their sinus infection simply will not respond to other treatments."

Levaquin (levofloxacin) for Urinary Tract Infection "This last Monday, I was detected by my doctor that I have an acute cystitis. My doctor prescribed me Lavoprolaxicin Levaquin for 6 days. My nightmare started on day 3 when I couldn't even get up from my bed. I was sore all over my body. I couldn't even walk. Only I took 4 pills, and I feel that my life changed to the worst for this medication. I went to the ER, and they gave me fluids to at least clean a little bit of my system. I got a CT scan of my kidneys, bladder, liver, and all results were normal. If doctors know those side effects, why are they still prescribing this medicine? It's poison! I'm still panicked! I have faith that everything will be normal again. Today is my day 1 without the medication. I'm walking better."
