"I took the first tablet last night. I was restless, did not sleep (maybe slept for less than one hour). It is just not helping at all. Dayvigo is another failure, just like Belsomra and Rozarem. They do not help with insomnia."

"In 25 years of taking sedatives, I have been on everything, including Xyrem. This medication paralyzed me, and I was having auditory hallucinations. Once I was able to move, I took Halcion and clonazepam and went to sleep finally. This ineffective medication should have never been approved by the FDA. Paralysis and hallucinations are not acceptable to me, not to mention it doesn't put you to sleep. NIGHTMARE drug. Good riddance, right in the trash."

"Dayvigo has given me my life back. Seriously - don't let the negative reviews deter you from trying this medication. I have had insomnia for most of my life, and Dayvigo is the first treatment that has worked consistently to help me fall asleep (and stay asleep throughout the night). If I do wake up, I fall back asleep very quickly. The best part is that I wake up feeling fully rested and sharp the following day. A few things I have observed: 1. Try different strengths. 5 mg did nothing for me, but 10 mg was perfect. 2. Give it some time. The longer I've been on it, the better it has worked. 3. You're going to have some vivid dreams and possibly nightmares. I personally enjoy dreaming! 4. I've personally had zero side effects, and it does not interact with my many medications. This is awesome, as most sleep medications have a laundry list of side effects/interactions. 5. Don't expect to wake up if someone needs you. Once I'm out, I'm out. I hope this helps!"

"I’ve taken this Dayvigo two nights in a row, and I’ve been awake probably 6-7 times per night. The only time it feels like it’s being most effective is when I need to be waking up. I hate that I paid $35 for it when I could get Ambien for $3. I’m not taking this again. It’s terrible. I have nothing good to say about it."

"I have tried literally everything on the market for insomnia. Was using Quetiapine, but I get next-day grogginess a lot. My Dr. had some samples of Dayvigo and said it would be a more 'natural' sleep and not knock me out. I am very tolerant of almost anything with a sedative effect. It took a while to kick in, but it was the most horrible 'sleep' I've ever had. I had horrible, vivid nightmares, and when I woke up, I felt so drugged. I woke up so much during the night, but was so groggy I couldn't actually get up. It made me restless, and I don't ever snore, but my husband had to leave because I was snoring so loud, and he said I was sitting up and talking to him, but I was obviously asleep. I will NEVER take this again. Throwing them in the trash."

"First night trying this useless medicine. Took it two hours ago, and I am more awake than when I took it, only now with a miserable headache. Why don't Drs, or in my case, a nurse practitioner, tell you the prices of medications prior to giving you a sample?!! I would NOT recommend this medication for any reason! I wish I could have given it a zero rating!"

"I'm currently on 300 mg of Seroquel, 150 mg of trazodone, 30 mg of mirtazapine, 10 mg of diazepam (Valium), and prazosin for nightmares. I still don't sleep. PTSD caused my insomnia 21 years ago, and I've tried everything under the sun. I was on 4 x 7.5 mg of zopiclone (Zopidem). I'm Canadian, hence the different names. For 8 years, and this was the concoction they came up with. Since 2013, I've been on this and still get horrid nightmares with 10 mg of prazosin and doxazosin. I tried 5 mg last night and, not realizing the half-life of Dayvigo is 13-16 hours, ended up sleeping literally from 2 AM to 2 PM. I would love to get off some of my meds and switch to something, but I'm not sure if there is anything that will truly make me sleep. I'm trying 10 mg tonight with half my dose of Seroquel, trazodone, and mirtazapine. Hopefully, it works, and I'm not dead the rest of the day tomorrow. I'm worried about nightmares as mine are debilitating, as is, reading all your reviews. But crossing my fingers! Will update."

"This has to be the worst drug. I've taken Ambien for over 20 years, but my doctor wanted me to switch. He gave me Dayvigo - I tried it for a couple of days, and it had many side effects. My doctor insisted that I needed to take it for 3 weeks. I’ve taken it for 5 nights, and I’ve had the worst nightmares, or rather terrors! I have woken myself up every night screaming and in fear. The most lucid, violent dreams ever ~ I’ve been murdered every night. And in the day, I have become less functional and feeling depressed. This drug needs to be re-evaluated for safety by the FDA. It is harmful and should be taken off the market. After reading other reviews, this looks to be a common complaint. I’d give this drug a zero if I could."

"Lifelong insomnia sufferer. Z & benzos became entirely unreliable due to tolerance years ago but rotated them anyway for hope. Very positive experience with Dayvigo (10 mg) - for me as it improves sleep issues in all respects. My tricks: empty stomach only. It just won't work for me otherwise. I take it when I go to bed, not when I stay up hoping it will 'knock me out.' It won't. I have a small window of time for it to gently work for sleep onset, so I get in bed, take it - and I don't ruminate ('Is this working?'). This is critical. I wake up 1-2x/bathroom; fall back asleep (to my own surprise, never happened prior). Insurance denied, so I paid out of pocket, but just too expensive and returned to my old sleepless self (Belsomra didn't work for me at all). I discovered the Dayvigo coupon works regardless of insurance denial. So, I'm back on it with the same success. Rarely - vivid dreams, which I happen to enjoy. No morning hangover for me. Worth a shot. I'm lucky I guess (finally)."

"I have had insomnia my whole life, and I haven’t found a long-term effective treatment yet. I took Dayvigo 5 mg for one night, right at bedtime. (10:30 PM) I stayed wide awake all night, feeling deeply tired with no possibility of sleep despite following proper sleep hygiene and CBT-I techniques. Eventually, around 3 AM, I was feeling extremely depressed and having suicidal thoughts. These thoughts continued into the next day. For the entire day, I felt numb, and I now understand what real depression feels like. Otherwise, I do not have clinical depression or a history of suicidality by any means. Interesting to note— I have ADHD, and I find that stimulants are more likely to help me fall asleep rather than hurt. So perhaps a drug that inhibits wakefulness is not for me in the first place. I’m glad this works for some people, but do be cautious. If you do take it, be aware there may be unpleasant side effects and have someone you can talk to."

"Had my first experience of sleep paralysis with this medication last night. It was the most horrible experience. In one night, I had 3-4 episodes of sleep paralysis. There was a time, too, when I felt like I couldn’t breathe, but at the same time, I couldn’t move. Never again. Although it did help me fall asleep. 10 mg, what it does is it makes your eyelids so heavy that you’re not able to keep them open, thereby forcing you to fall asleep."

"Over the last several years, I have gone through most of the FDA-approved insomnia medications and a plethora of off-label meds as well. Dayvigo has been the most effective at building healthy sleep architecture with no real side effects. Also, after six months, I haven't experienced any tolerance issues or rebounding insomnia."

"I’ve been on 10 mg for 11 days, and I haven’t been sleeping any better. I haven’t had any side effects other than a headache. The headache could totally be unrelated, so take that for what it’s worth. I hope the drug works much better for other people than it did for me."

"Got this from a new doctor, one I had to ask to put on a mask when I entered her office. That should have been warning enough to not trust her. I took the 5 mg pill around 11:30 p.m. By midnight, still not feeling sleepy, feeling fuzzy and slightly dizzy. Went to bed and settled in. That is when the nightmares began. These dreams were intense and more vivid than I thought possible. Like immersive 3D real-world technicolor high-end sound. Woke up at 4 a.m. feeling like my entire body was vibrating. Got back to bed at 4:30 a.m. attempting to sleep. Instantly, the insane dreams started up again. Felt like a state somewhere between being awake and asleep. Woke up at 8 a.m. sweaty and shaking a bit. Got up and spent the next hour trying to feel okay. Now, two hours later, I finally feel sleepy. Probably just tired from being in the middle of some kind of cinematic hell all night. I do not recommend this. I would not wish it on someone I deeply despise. I would rather just not sleep."

"A terrifying experience. Only tried it one time, but it was enough for me. Weird nightmares started after about 2 hours of taking it. Then, I started experiencing several sleep paralysis episodes with high heart rate and shortness of breath sensations. It was just like a horror movie being played in my head. I am a 35-year-old male. Under amitriptyline and zopiclone as treatment for insomnia. Sleep issues started about a year ago during the pandemic."

"I have taken Dayvigo once so far. I fell asleep right away. I woke up once to use the bathroom. But I fell right back to sleep. However, I did wake up at 2 a.m. for no reason and took some time to get back to sleep. Woke up at 6:30 a.m., had to go back to sleep until 8:30 a.m. as I was not fully awake. I was waking up at 1 a.m., 3 a.m., and 4 a.m. So, I guess I would consider this a victory. However, I can't be sleeping until 8:30 every morning."

"I have the best experience with this drug. I experienced no side effects at all with the 5 mg dose, and I am able to fall asleep in less than an hour. Most importantly (and that was my main problem), when I am taking Dayvigo, I am able to fall back asleep if I wake up during the night. Best night of sleep in a decade. I recommend everyone struggling with insomnia to try it."

"Finally, something that works for me :’) !!!! I have tried about 8 different prescriptions in the last 3 years for parasomnia sleep disorder. Most have either not kept me asleep, or I end up feeling hungover, slow, and dumb the following day. I was a little nervous at first trying Dayvigo since it’s new to the market, but it is an absolute godsend. I feel rested, I sleep, I stay asleep, and I can function the next day. I do not feel disoriented on this medication. It is also the most articulate I’ve felt in a very long time, mostly due to the grogginess/cloudiness other sleep medications have caused me. I do not get nightmares from Dayvigo either. It will require a pre-authorization at your pharmacy because it is a very expensive drug. Mine ended up getting covered due to my long history of other sleep medications that did not work. I am shocked at how little side effects I experience on Dayvigo. Please try it !!!"

"I’ve been on 5 mg of Dayvigo for a week now, and I get restless legs, vivid racing thoughts, and a headache. I finally fall asleep 1-2 hrs after taking it. Sometimes the restless legs stay with me throughout the night. It’s not like Ambien, which relaxed me and put me to sleep within 20 mins, and I woke really, really refreshed. I’m bummed as I was hopeful, as I have chronic insomnia."

"I have finally found a sleeping med that does what it promotes. To me, battling disturbed sleeping patterns and plain old insomnia. This is literally a miracle sleep pill. No crucial hangover, did experience vivid dreams my first night, but does also help my PTSD-related insomnia and keeps my sleeping hours straight. Best to take on an empty stomach, I suggest. I would give this 15 stars if possible. Thank God for Dayvigo."

"My new insurance company, in its infinite wisdom, decided not to approve a med I had been on for years for insomnia - Belsomra. They did approve Dayvigo, which from what I can tell is relatively new. I fall asleep quickly but wake up after a short time (30 mins to an hour) and can't go back to sleep. I've been on it for 2 months and told my doc enough. Just another example of an insurance company 'fixing' something that wasn't broken. I think I can get a Belsomra coupon...so will go that route if the ins. co. refuses to cover."

"I want to know how long they researched this drug, and how long the trial lasted, how many people died. I'm definitely going to find a way to spread a warning about this. Don't you know that this drug can cause paralysis? Aren't you worried about the risk that it might cause you to stop breathing in your sleep? Yeah, I'm definitely going to make some loud noise about this."

"I have suffered from insomnia and circadian rhythm issues due to a medical reason for 25 years. I have tried and have a “toolbox” of sleep meds. Zolpidem is my stable because of costs, but after a few weeks it doesn't work and you have to take a drug holiday. That is when I would use Belsomra (really never that helpful on 20mg 3/10), Flexeril, Seroquel 25mg, and other meds I would rotate. So I got my first prescription of Dayvigo recently and had low expectations being another (DORA) like Belsomra. 10mg of Dayvigo has been surprisingly very helpful. Dry switch from Zolpidem without rebound insomnia, which is amazing considering Zolpidem's effect on the GABA system."

"This was the best, most natural sleep I have ever had on any medication, and I have tried my fair share of them. The dreams you get on this are very vivid, and it actually causes sleepiness, not sedation. I feel much more restored and refreshed. This might be the life-saving miracle pill for me because I get sleep deprivation psychosis, and this stuff puts you to real sleep. Much better than Ambien and much better than trazodone. Although it might be too effective, as the next day it feels like narcolepsy for a few hours, but I do take it with Quetiapine Fumarate."

"Dayvigo works for me. At first, I was skeptical because I had not had success with most other insomnia medications, but I found relief on Dayvigo very quickly. I hope it continues to work. I will be refilling."
