For Hepatitis C "Day 4 on Harvoni, no side effects. Already have more energy. I also take Harvoni at night, about an hour after dinner. Can't wait for blood work. Thank goodness for a new lease on life! DEATH TO HEP C!!!"

For Hepatitis C "I did 3 prior treatments to Harvoni. The three previous treatments were about 1 and 1/2 yrs each. They were horrible and I felt terrible most of the time. I took Harvoni for 12 weeks, and I was cured. Hardly any side effects, if any at all. This is our miracle drug."

For Hepatitis C "I started Harvoni 10 days ago. Feeling good in the morning and then I fizzle out. By nighttime, 8 p.m., I'm completely exhausted. 63 years old, but that's not that old. I was told by the nurses who called to check on me, DRINK lots of water. No antacids - if necessary, 4 hrs before the pill or 4 hrs after the pill. Not touching them. No upset stomach, mild headache, but the tiredness is a killer. They told me to 'hang in there,' and believe me, I will!! This has been a blessing. Didn't even know I had Hep C, and the doc told me, you usually don't until something else goes wrong with you. Stick with it, all you people ~ as difficult as it may seem. Can't wait for the blood test!!! Even if it's undetectable, I was told you have to finish the treatment!!"

For Hepatitis C "This was my third round of TX, first two relapsed, so 24 weeks of Harvoni with 17 days left of meds, and truly have no complaints. This TX is NOTHING like the previous two with side effects. I take medicine at bedtime with Melatonin 5mg to help sleep. In the beginning, I would notice a little upset stomach, but crackers helped. I would have headaches here and there, but can't truly say it was from the medicine. At the end of the day, I honestly believe you must have a positive attitude starting and not fixating on the neg that one may read. I pray daily that my EOT and post-TX test still are undetectable, so I can bury this beast forever! Good luck to you all and focus on the end, not the day-to-day!"

For Hepatitis C "Contracted Hep C in late teens. No symptoms until in my 50s (year 2000). Went on Interferon & Ribavirin for all of 2001. Brutal drug regimen with daily shots to go with it. Lost 40 pounds while eating 3 times my usual calorie intake. Basically like having the flu accompanied with diarrhea and bizarre emotional effects. Anxiously awaited a drug that could cure Genotype 4 and would be paid by my insurance. My excellent liver specialist and his care team pushed hard and got me approved. Started taking Harvoni 1st week at 5 pm in case I had a bad reaction, didn't want to be sick during the work day. Experienced increased insomnia, but no other side effects, so switched to mid-morning break time with food and the problem gone. I am extremely grateful!!"

For Hepatitis C "I completed the 12-week treatment with Harvoni, and my viral load is undetectable. Years ago, I was on Interferon for 18 months and always thought of just stopping it due to the side effects being so devastating. So, with my experience with the old drugs that were being used for Hep C, there's no comparison to the side effects of Harvoni. To me, Harvoni is a type of wonder drug due to the lack of devastating side effects, and for me, unlike the others that were used in the old days, Harvoni works."

For Hepatitis C "My 6th week of Harvoni. Have not missed 1 day of work. I work part-time, so that is just great. No side effects, just a slight headache, a little tired at the beginning. Drink plenty of water or your head will hurt. Now, lots of energy I don't know what to do with the energy. The disease had me so tired for so many years. I have been awakened again. I will think about getting into a salsa class or something. I did notice I am not able to get to sleep at night with so much energy. Body tired, but my brain is wide awake. I stay up later than I usually do without being exhausted the next day. I was always so tired back then. Will be 50 this summer, feeling like a spring chicken. Just took my 4th week blood test and waiting to hear good news. Great med."

For Hepatitis C "I am on day 12 of taking Harvoni. I have had hep C 1b for over 30 years. I never knew my real self. At days 1-3, I felt tired, fatigued, irritable, had headaches, and brain fog. Felt the same as I always had. Started noticing changes on day 4: increased energy, could see the whites of my eyes instead of a murky brown-yellow, skin looking better. Relapsed on day 7, started to feel tired, had to sleep after eating lunch, no energy. Days 8-13, feel amazing, no joint pains, feel 10 years younger, brain active, eyes alert, glassy, yellowing almost gone. Palms of my hands were always bright red right up to my fingertips, seeing patches of white through the redness, redness starting to fade a little each day. Thank you, God, and the minds behind Harvoni."

For Hepatitis C "I had Hep C for over 30 years. I never really felt bad. I noticed my hair was falling out, getting thinner, and my skin looked horrible. I began an 8-week regimen of Harvoni the day after Thanksgiving. I was so hesitant in fear of side effects. I got up early and took that first giant pill. I waited, waited, and waited for some sort of 'sick' feeling? It never came, never! Each day I took my daily pill. Day by day, I began to have more energy and increased positive thoughts. As the last couple of weeks rolled around, my skin and hair had both taken on a new, healthy, youthful look. My skin looks amazing, it's moist, and my hair is thicker than it's been in over 35 years. My nails grow so strong and long, I am a new person!"

For Hepatitis C "Remarkable! Have had Hep C for over 30 years. Asymptomatic. Started an 8-week course of Harvoni about 7 weeks ago. Viral load went from 2 million down to UNDETECTABLE! After just 28 days. Wow! Side effects are annoying but manageable. Have had headaches, fatigue, bloating, insomnia, and body aches. But I just rest when I need to. Don't give up hope!"

For Hepatitis C "The Hep C was a total surprise to me. Discovered when my Doc ran some routine bloodwork. I had been tired for a couple years and lost some weight, but I chalked it up to getting older, I'm 67. I have absolutely no clue how I contracted the disease. The gastroenterologist told me I had likely had it for 25-30 years! I have some liver scarring but no cirrhosis. I've only been taking Harvoni for a week and I swear I feel better already. My energy level is improving along with my general feeling of well-being. So far, NO side effects whatsoever, except for the good ones. I am so grateful to the powers that be for this miracle drug. And thankful for my doctor finding it before I had any serious problems."

For Hepatitis C "Everyone. I've read these blogs for years ever since I found out I had Hep C, and this is the first time responding to one. I'm 30 years old and experimented with different drugs and steroids and somehow got the virus between the ages of 18-22. What exactly was it? Idk. Yes, huge mistake! I went seeking for help around 25 years old, and they denied me! Lucky me because interferon was the treatment at that time, and I've read it's hell. Again, I recently tried at 30 years old, and I was approved with Harvoni! A miracle. I read about Harvoni for about two years and never went for help because of how expensive the treatment is, and I figured I'd be denied. I went seeking for help because I was experiencing all sorts of issues like shortness of breath, extreme fatigue, liver stabbings, abdominal pain, bloating, headaches, abnormal urination, etc. I have Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance with my job. I'm a 1a genotype with a 500,000 viral load. I'm on my 6th day so far. Only the first night I had night sweats/nightmares. Yes, it's crazy. From that point forward, NO side effects! I drink lots of water and exercise daily. I take the pill on an empty stomach at 6 am before work. I believe on an empty stomach is best for the body to absorb. My energy level has gone up significantly as I was noticing I was so fatigued before the treatment. Every issue I had is now gone. I truly believe that I'll be cured. I'll be happy to answer any questions."

For Hepatitis C "45 yr old male. I contracted hep C between 2004 & 2006 using drugs. (Cleaned up Dec 2006.) After 9 yrs of having the virus, I went on Harvoni for 8 weeks, started Dec 10, 2015, and finished Feb 3, 2016. First blood tests showed less than 12 viral count (compared to 6 million). Did 12-week post-treatment bloodwork in April, and the virus was UNDETECTED. :) THANK YOU GILEAD FOR HARVONI."

For Hepatitis C "I was told by my doctor I have had hepatitis C for 25 years. The only symptoms I have are fatigue and some jaundice, thank goodness. I currently have hepatitis C genotype 1. I have been taking Harvoni for 3 weeks now. The only side effects I have had are headaches and fatigue. I have noticed I get up in the morning now feeling great, I used to have a hard time getting out of bed. Now I spring out of bed, I can exercise and do daily chores. I thank God for Harvoni. I go for my first lab tests on July 27th. I can't wait to find out the results. 10 years ago, I tried the interferon and ribavirin with the weekly painful injections. I was stopped after 3 months due to suicidal thoughts and the fact that it wasn't working. I was devastated."

For Hepatitis C "After week 2, my energy soared. My night sweats stopped, and I now sleep through the night. I feel like I have a second lease on life. I am on the 3-month regimen. Viral load was 14 million at the start of meds. Now, 1 month later, down to 77. Yes, seventy-seven. Looking forward to 2nd month blood test. Was denied 3x's by my insurance company for the use of meds. My fantastic doctor and nurse promised me they would not forget about me, and they finally got me covered. Grateful to them and Gilead for my new life."

For Hepatitis C "It's 10 months post-Harvoni. Trust me when I say I felt better when I had Hep C, like 100% better taking my supplements, minerals, vitamins, herbs, spices. Never once in 15 years did my viral load reach over 40,000. I felt fine, to be honest. Yes, I said 40,000, nothing really for Gen type 1a. Now, 10 months post-Harvoni, it's over-the-top anxiety, really bad eyesight, itching 24/7, depression, vertigo, dizziness, head fog is constant, as is insomnia. I feel like I'm going nuts. There are plenty of sites on the net with folk in the same situation as me, if not worse. People are getting sick taking this toxic stuff."

For Hepatitis C "Day 15 slight headache and insomnia. Other than that, no side effects. Helps if I drink plenty of water. I have severe panic attacks and was nervous about taking Harvoni, but taking the first pill was the hard part. Been a breeze, very excited to complete all meds. Update: just completed day 28, labs came back virus-free. Yay! Dr. said take for one more month and done. Sleeping much better, very excited. If you can't get meds covered, call the manufacturer for the medicine assistance program."

For Hepatitis C "Today was the first day I started Harvoni. I was pretty anxious before taking it this morning. I took one tablet this morning at 6 AM, and the only thing I noticed was a little fatigue, and the fatigue was definitely manageable and didn't impact my day at all. I went to the gym and worked on my car, fixing brake pads and wheel bearings. So I figure if I can handle this kind of work on day one, this medication sounds like the miracle pill everyone has said it is. Feeling optimistic and grateful for science and research."

For Hepatitis C "3 weeks, 3 days in. Had blood work done, waiting on first check. Hep for almost 30 years, first attempt at treatment. Breast cancer survivor, 8 years, with neuropathy and chronic pain issues. Already have insomnia for many, many years, so I live on Ambien and medical marijuana to sleep. I'll be 54 next week. So far, I have experienced very mild headaches but quite a few gastro issues inside my gut. Morning tummy ache, and it seems the longer I'm on, the more issues, but it could just be pre-existing conditions. As far as the Harvoni, I cannot differentiate if it's me or the drug making it worse... WAY WORTH the sides if it clears the virus, and I really did not believe there would be no side effects from such intense drugs."

For Hepatitis C "I'm starting my 3rd week of Harvoni. I don't know when I got hep C, I am 50 years old. Ok, the first week everything went smooth till about the 6th day, then I started getting headaches and dizziness. Then my anger and my temper have been going off the charts, but I will trade that any day to get this virus out of me. For 8 years, it's been a nightmare, it's gotten so bad I could not walk to the mailbox without being tired, so as I said, I will be so glad to get rid of hep C."

For Hepatitis C "OK, regular blood work last year in August. Elevated liver numbers. Go to gastro - run more blood tests, positive for Hep C. Suggested Harvoni. We read about it, talked about it, decided to do it. 12-week treatment, started Feb. 1, 2016. Blood work every 4 weeks. Gone after first month. Gone after 2 months. Gone after 3 months and no more pills. No side effects either. Did quit drinking while taking the medication. So happy......next blood work. Still good. Blood work 2 weeks ago (early Aug. 2016)....it's back. So disappointed. Heartbreaking. And on top of it all, about 7k in co-pays. A big waste of time and money. Read another forum where everyone had a relapse. Doesn't appear to be as good as thought if you ask me."

For Hepatitis C "So, about this time last year, November. I started Harvoni and took it every day for approximately 90 days straight, if it was going to work, I couldn't lag and didn't plan to either. I've had hep C since I was about 14 years old, and my life depended on this drug working. So, to make a long story short, a year later, I'm hep C free, go to the gym daily, and feel like a champ. I even ride my dirt bike at a local track with no issues at all. Thanks for giving my wife, two young children, and especially me, a longer, happier life."

For Hepatitis C "I have had Hep C for 35 plus years. Just finished my first bottle of 28 pills of Harvoni. Just got my first blood work back, viral load dropped from almost 9 million down to just 300. No real side effects and have been riding my bike as before, over 200 miles per week, maybe just a bit slower. Will follow up next month."
