For Melanoma "Healthy 50+ year-old male after major removal of malignant melanoma (on back) and lymph nodes. Severe reaction following 3rd injection. Destroyed my pituitary gland. Incredible headaches for weeks. Now on meds for the rest of life. Now, 4 years later, I have metastatic melanoma."

For Melanoma, Metastatic "Pituitary gland failure cascaded into acute secondary adrenal failure, nearly killing me two months after initial infusion. I am now taking thyroid and adrenal support medications. I recently learned that I live perilously close to sudden onset diabetes mellitus. I continually experience dry, itchy skin; a dry, non-productive cough; leg swelling; sleep disturbance; angioedema; dry mouth; dry eyes; severe urticaria; and blurred vision. A year into treatment for advanced metastatic melanoma involving large tumors on my liver, adrenals, back, leg, intercostal muscles, etc., my cancer was determined to be in remission based upon interpretation of PET-CT and MRI imaging. Treatment continues with nivolumab alone. In the earliest stages of my infusions involving ipilimumab, I experienced excruciating, blinding pain associated with my kidneys. Reducing the infusion rate to 25% of the recommended rate allowed continued treatment. Four infusion cycles with ipilimumab."

Ipilimumab for Melanoma, Metastatic "Two treatments in combination with OPDIVO, after the first treatment contracted sepsis, close to death but survived, after the second treatment (months apart), contracted colitis, a lot closer to death, told I had 2 days to live - spent 2 weeks in ICU. Six months later, regaining muscle, feeling stronger, cancer still in situ, but hopefully not life-threatening anymore, waiting on the latest PET/CT scans. Possibly keeping me alive, but it takes a toll on your body."
