For Constipation "These work best for me. I have tried other laxatives and have suffered with cramps. The suppository helps - I put in one and within 5 minutes, I get results! I worry about using it too often and if there would be side effects...but no side effects! I am lucky that it works for me and it is predictable:)"

For Constipation "I experience constipation as a result of surgery some years ago. After several tests my colo-rectal specialist recommended pelvic floor physical therapy and bowel retraining. The bowel retraining called for the use of glycerin suppositories daily after 2 days of no bowel movement and then, if no bowel movement after 2 days of suppository use I was to administer an enema to produce results. More often than not, the glycerin suppositories are effective in producing a bowel movement thereby making it unnecessary to use an enema. The suppositories usually produce results within 15 - 20 minutes (I often insert the suppository before taking my morning shower and it produces results by the time I finish). They are convenient to use, especially when travelling and produce fast results. My physician feels that glycerin suppositories are less habit forming than most oral laxatives or enemas."
