Glycerin "I thank God for using this product! It is amazing! I have constipation due to opioid use due to back pain. I've tried everything that there is: Amitiza, Linzess, Movantik-you name it, I have tried it. All of the above cause me to have horrible intestinal gas. I tried a different suppository that was the kind you insert in and it stays in there-it's like wax or whatever; it BURNED terribly! This is more like an enema, but it's a very, very tiny amount of liquid that you squeeze in. Within five seconds, I was in the bathroom doing business, and business was great! No pain, no gas, I am so thrilled and thankful to have found this, and I pray it will continue to work this way for me! Fleet Liquid Glycerin 5.4 grams. Hyperosmotic."

Glycerin "Stress from travel, compounded with a family emergency, stopped my bowel for more than 7 days. Tried all the favored laxatives from experience, nothing helped in the least. Within 6 minutes after my suppository, I began having results. Immediately inserted my second suppository, and within 10 minutes, greater results and relief. The internet helped me understand how to use them properly and why these are effective."

Glycerin "I've used saline enemas for occasional constipation for several years, but decided to try the liquid glycerin suppositories. I found they were not as effective and more uncomfortable to use. The saline enemas work in 5 minutes and clear me out for at least 2 days while I can concentrate on getting more water and fruit in my system to soften things in my colon. But the glycerin suppositories took a half hour to work and only worked partially. I still felt the need to evacuate and finally, 2 hours later, I passed a little more, but still not as much as with the saline enemas. Bottom line, the glycerin worked slowly and only partially solved the problem."

"I use them often. I find they work quickly, within 10 minutes, sometimes within 2 minutes. I generally try to use only 1. Not sure if you get tolerance from using them. Work better if your stools are softer and not really hard or dried out (same thing), or else they will not work as you would like. If my stools are dried out, then I use Motivol, it breaks it all down and doesn't cause tolerance. But it can sometimes take a day or so to work if I am really blocked. But it works to get it all out. I get constipation easily, even after drinking lots of water and taking in trial doses of fiber to find a sweet spot. But I guess some people just get constipation easier than others. It has messed my sleep up for the last 12 years, and I may only get 3-5 hours of sleep per night because of it. My doctor doesn't listen well, he says always take in more water and fiber... may as well talk to myself."

Glycerin "I experience constipation as a result of surgery some years ago. After several tests, my colorectal specialist recommended pelvic floor physical therapy and bowel retraining. The bowel retraining called for the use of glycerin suppositories daily after 2 days of no bowel movement, and then, if no bowel movement after 2 days of suppository use, I was to administer an enema to produce results. More often than not, the glycerin suppositories are effective in producing a bowel movement, thereby making it unnecessary to use an enema. The suppositories usually produce results within 15-20 minutes (I often insert the suppository before taking my morning shower, and it produces results by the time I finish). They are convenient to use, especially when traveling, and produce fast results. My physician feels that glycerin suppositories are less habit forming than most oral laxatives or enemas."

"Glycerin works within a few minutes for constipation. Removes about half of whole stool. Then creates soft stool with water. For quite a few hours, I experience gas and then watery liquid until it wears off. Very uncomfortable but better than the feeling of stuck stools in the rectum."

Glycerin "My baby is 4 months old and did not have a bowel movement for about a week. She had a few pebbles come out, and she was screaming in so much pain. I used this medicine for her. The pharmacist told me to run it under water and use half of it, I still used a little less. It worked really well. She was pooping in 1 hour, and it just really helped soften it up so she can get it out. Great product, my sister told me about it. Very happy I found this and it helped my baby girl."

Glycerin "These work best for me. I have tried other laxatives and have suffered with cramps. The suppository helps - I put in one and within 5 minutes, I get results! I worry about using it too often and if there would be side effects...but no side effects! I am lucky that it works for me and it is predictable :)"

"Highly recommend glycerin. I have IBS, so I have been struggling with this constipation issue on and off for some time. Had tried many tablets, which very often bring on severe cramps. One of these glycerin suppositories, and not 5 minutes later, I had been to the toilet and was feeling lots better."

"I am disabled with a rare disease. I don't have much hip flexibility and sit all day on the side of my bed or in my wheelchair. It can take a few days for me to have a bowel movement. When I use liquid glycerin enemas, I usually find relief within minutes. I'm very short and use a potty squatty, which puts me in the perfect position for elimination."

Glycerin "Chronic constipation due to meds. Left the glycerin tab in for 30 minutes lying on my left side. I felt no strong urge to defecate until I stood up. Did need to push to evacuate a small sample. Better than nothing. Produced a second small sample 30 minutes later. Still felt like there was more to come. No noticeable side effects. Would use it again."

Glycerin "Glycerin suppositories work for unblocking constipation in about 25 minutes by partially melting, with the melted glycerin combining with water drawn into the colon to soften stool. A problem is that unblocking does not clear the colon, so I tried ignoring the first urge for a bowel movement and retained the suppository for a longer duration, about 70 minutes. This worked to mostly clear the colon but produced a laxative effect that was like diarrhea. My recommendation is to go with the first urge."

Glycerin "I have been impacted for two weeks due to illness, inactivity, and IBS. Liquid laxatives, stool softeners, prune juice, nothing worked. I finally decided to try a Fleet Liquid Glycerin enema. It was easy to insert and unblocked me within minutes. I do, however, seem to be slightly bloated and have gas-like stomach discomfort in my upper abdomen. I am hoping this goes away soon. Meanwhile, I am satisfied with the effectiveness of this product."

"I have used glycerin suppositories for years. It is the only way that a bowel movement is possible for me. I have always used the Colace brand. However, they have recently changed from foil packaging to paper packaging, and in doing so have changed their ingredients in some way. The new Colace suppositories, packaged in the paper packaging, don't work for me. I am searching for a new brand. When they were wrapped in foil, they melted quickly. Wrapped in paper, they are much harder and don't melt quickly. Does anyone know of a better brand that I could try that is available in Canada?"

"I have had chronic constipation for 5 years now. Currently, I'm on one CosmoCol and 2 mg of prucalopride daily, and even that's not cutting it. Was told by my doctor to take these glycerin suppositories if I'm really struggling. Today was my first experience. Within 10 minutes, I had the urge to go."

"I have severe stomach issues, and due to a lot of stress, I have constipation very frequently. The only relief that I can get is from my Fleet glycerin suppository. Sometimes it takes up to an hour and a half to work. Generally, with me, after about 30 minutes, I’ll get some relief, but other times it takes up to an hour and a half. So don’t give up, however, if you’re severely impacted and I’ve gone more than 3 to 5 days without a bowel movement, contact your doctor."

"The instructions given by the manufacturer are highly inadequate. It does not give an indicative duration to wait after inserting the dosage. I ended up prematurely trying to clear the stools with much difficulty after waiting for 20 minutes. Drugs.com is, in fact, giving better quality information."

"I used to have incomplete bowel movements. Glycerin suppositories are gentle and safe. My doctor says they are safer than anything oral, perhaps with the exception of prunes or prune juice."

Glycerin "10/10 would recommend. I don’t have persistent constipation, but I had gone multiple days without a bowel movement. I am someone with high anxiety who is afraid to take medications, so doing this took a lot of courage as I was afraid I would be in pain during the BM. This little bulb did its job super effectively. I sat and held it with all my might for around 25 minutes trying to let it work. And let me tell you, it came out smooth and easy, no problems. I hardly realized it happened, and it was with little strain. Can’t thank this product enough."
