For Postherpetic Neuralgia "Since I had my bilateral groin hernia, I have been using Horizant for nerve pain. Was the only medicine that works for me. I have to stop using it for 2 months because it was so expensive. My co-payment was $300.00. My doctor found this pharmacy in CT that sells it to me for a $20 per month prescription. My insurance pays, and they give it to me for only $20 a month. I take the 300 mg because the 600 mg is too strong for me."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "My sleep study showed I was being awakened over 100 times a night with both muscle twitches and full body jerks. I started with a full tablet of Horizant for an awful night of wakeful jerking around. Horribly hung over the next morning and then basically all day--on the sofa--in a stupor. I had heard through the grapevine that there was a period of hardship before your body got used to it. But I am a publisher and needed my wits about me, so I halved the dose. Was able to sleep much better. So I halved the dose again. Continued cutting the dose until I'm now taking 100 mg a night. Sleeping better than I have in years. I take it between dinner and bed. It is very powerful. I shuffle to bed in a stupor. May start taking it at bedtime--skip passing out."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "I have suffered from severe small fiber neuropathy (SFN) pain and restless leg syndrome for 10 years or more. I take pain medication for the SFN, which helps with the pain but does not help the RLS. I could not tolerate other medications for RLS. None of them helped with my symptoms, and the side effects were intolerable. Regular Gabapentin also did not help with my neuropathy pain or my RLS. I did try Horizant for the first time about a week ago for my severe restless leg syndrome. I used the sample my doctor gave me. I take 600 mg at night with my meal. I noticed results the first day. I would definitely recommend this medication for RLS. Amazing for me and no negative side effects, and I sleep much better!"

For Restless Legs Syndrome "Horizant has been so effective for my RLS. I have received full relief which I never got on my prior medication. I used to wait for the 24-hour period to lapse so I could get my next dose of the prior RLS med. I would need to walk around and pace until the med worked and did not get full coverage into the morning hours. I take Horizant in 2 doses at night (300 mg at 6:30 pm and 600 mg at 8:30 pm) and this dosage has fully relieved my jittery, bouncy, fidgety legs. I can sleep without the prior symptoms and sleep through the night. It is a blessing."

For Postherpetic Neuralgia "Been taking for about one year. Worked like a miracle from the first day I started it, but now I’m having RLS at night. I’ve been on 600 mg. I’m so distraught because it’s starting all over again. Has this happened to anyone else?"

For Restless Legs Syndrome "I have suffered from RLS since 2007. I started taking pramipexole, then switched over to the Neupro patch, which left me with second-degree burns. My insurance left me hanging for 3-1/2 weeks to get approval for Horizant, I was miserable by the time I finally received the medication. I started at 300 mg and then increased up to 600 mg the following week. I'm starting to feel better and hoping this will work."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "This medicine is definitely a 10. It worked for me from the first day I took it. It's nice to sleep at night again instead of pacing the floor."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "Horizant has given me a good night's sleep, which I haven't experienced in years due to RLS! I know it is gabapentin, basically, but it works differently with only 1 pill taken at dinnertime."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "Horizant worked wonderfully for RLS! But after a couple of months, my mouth and nose got really sore, so I had to stop taking it. It really worked for my RLS."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "I have had RLS for 5 years. My GP, after trial and error from other doctors (Neurontin, Lyrica, anti-depressant... all with zero efficacy), started me on Ropinirole, titrating dosages until I ended up on 4 mg ER and 0.25 mg for breakthrough. I was feeling very sedated, and symptoms occurring earlier and earlier (augmentation). So, I went to a sleep specialist (6 months wait). Moderate to severe RLS diagnosis. Took me off 4 mg ER and on 0.5 mg Ropinirole, Oxycodone 5 mg once daily (1 pm). Helped a lot. Some breakthroughs and with 0.5 mg, could self-manage... but still breakthroughs. Now, I'm on 2 mg Ropinirole ER, Oxycodone 3 times daily. The doctor just added Horizant 300 mg once daily pm. Took it last night and woke with my leg kicking! Took Ropinirole to stop it. Was very groggy from Horizant. Was wondering if the effect is cumulative because it certainly made things worse last night. Going to keep trying for a week or so, because it would be nice to be on once-a-day dosing... without the fear of breakthrough episodes."
