For Postherpetic Neuralgia "This medication saved my life. After a cervical fusion, my nerves never healed back to normal and I am stuck with permanent nerve damage. The constant burning and cervical headaches killed my career and I lost 3 years of my life. I was more dead than alive due to constant burning pain at the base of my skull down my neck and into my shoulder and upper back. I received Horizant as a sample and thought nothing of it. I had been trying different meds for 3 years and they never worked. I woke up on day 4 of taking Horizant and thought what was that odd feeling in my neck? It took a few minutes to realize I was feeling muscle aches and NOT BURNING. My burning stopped for the first time in 3 years. I started a whole new life. This medication gave me a second chance to live. Unfortunately, my insurance won’t pay for it and I have challenges getting it filled. Today, I paid $226 for 14 pills. I have been without and the pain is back. I could only afford a partial refill."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "I have had RLS for 5 yrs. My GP, after trial and error from other drs (Neurontin, Lyrica, anti-depressant...all with zero efficacy) started me on Ropinerole, titrating dosages until I ended up on 4mg ER and 0.25 mg for breakthrough. I was feeling very sedated, and symptoms occurring earlier and earlier (augmentation). So went to sleep specialist (6 months wait). Moderate to severe RLS dx. Took me off 4mg ER and on 0.5 mg Ropinerole, Oxycodone 5mg once daily( 1pm). Helped a lot. Some breakthroughs and with 0.5 mg, could self-manage...but still breakthroughs. Now, I'm on 2mg Ropinerole ER, oxycodone 3x daily. Dr just added Horizant 300mg once daily pm. Took it last night and woke with my leg kicking! Took Ropinerole to stop it. Was very groggy from Horizant. Was wondering if the effect is cumulative because it certainly made things worse last night. Going to keep trying for a week or so, because it would be nice to be on once a day dosing.. without the fear of breakthrough episodes."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "I have suffered from RLS since 2007. I started taking pramipexole then switched over to Neupro patch which left me with second-degree burns. My insurance left me hanging for 3-1/2 weeks to get approval for Horizant, I was miserable by the time I finally received the medication. I started at 300mg and then increased up to 600mg the following week. Am starting to feel better and hoping this will work."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "I have suffered from severe small fiber neuropathy (SFM) pain and restless leg syndrome for 10 years or more. I take pain medication for the SFN, which helps with the pain. But does not help the RLS. I could not tolerate other medications for RLS. None of them helped with my symptoms & the side effects were intolerable. Regular Gabapentin also did not help with my neuropathy pain or my RLS. I did try Horizant for the first time about a week ago for my severe restless leg syndrome. I used the sample my doctor gave me. I take 600 mg at night with my meal. I noticed results the first day. I would definitely recommend this medication for RLS. Amazing for me and no negative side effects and I sleep much better!"

For Restless Legs Syndrome "Horizant has been so effective for my RLS. I have received full relief which I never got on my prior medication. I used to wait for the 24-hour period to lapse so I could get my next dose of the prior RLS med. I would need to walk around and pace until the med worked and did not get full coverage into the morning hours. I take Horizant in 2 doses at night (300 mg at 6:30 pm and 600 mg at 8:30 pm) and this dosage has fully relieved my jittery, bouncy, fidgety legs. I can sleep without the prior symptoms and sleep through the night. It is a blessing."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "This medicine is definitely a 10. It worked for me from the first day I took it. It's nice to sleep at night again instead of pacing the floor."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "Horizant has given me a good nights sleep which I haven't experienced in years due to RLS! I know it is gabapentin; basically, but it works differently with only 1 pill taken at dinnertime."

For Postherpetic Neuralgia "Since I had my bilateral groin hernia, I have been using Horizon for nerve pain. Was the only medicine works for me. I have to stop using for 2 months because was so expensive . My co-payment was $300.00 . My dr found this pharmacy in CT that sell me for $20 per month prescription . My insurance pays and they give me for only $20 a month. I take the 300 mg because the 600mg is too strong for me."
