Reviews for Prozac

"It works but it can be ineffective in some situations. I've used it for over a year switched from a max of 40 MG to 20 MG twice. It is not effective for me personally to take just one a day, so my doctor prescribed me to take two 20 MG pills of Prozac a day and has proven more effective. There are some things Prozac has not fixed with my obsessive compulsive disorder(OCD) even with taking 2 pills a day."

"Forgot to add to my other review. The generic equivalent of Prozac did absolutely nothing for me, either for my ocd or my depression. I needed the brand name for it to work. So if you’re not having an effect, ask your doctor to write “brand name only “. You better have great insurance though, because it’s thousands of dollars."

"It was ok, but I didn't really like the feeling. I took 20mg for a week and then I quit. I felt like I couldn't think as deep, which I guess could be good for those with OCD, but I just felt off and would rather feel normal instead of on a medication. It felt like someone filled my head with oatmeal and I had to think around the oatmeal. I slept less and the sleep itself felt artificial. I did have a few interesting moments on it, but overall I wouldn't recommend it and I don't see how people can take this drug for long periods of time. My face even looked different. It was just a strange experience overall. I'm glad to be off it."

"It was very disappointing when Zoloft and Abilify didn't work for me, but Prozac began working within 4 to 5 days of taking. This medicine is working well for my OCD."

"I'm starting Prozac today and I'm currently on Zoloft but I've been weaning off of it. I tried about everything except Prozac so we'll see how it goes. Zoloft did help my OCD by didn't cure it."

"Absolutely loved it. Towards the end, I was put on lithium as well and started having adverse effects. But when I was on prozac alone, my OCD was immensely curbed."

"To those waiting for Prozac or other to kick in - if you’re miserable ask your doctor to give you .5 Klonopin in the morning as an interim, it’s immediately effective and short term use is ok."
