For Birth Control "Personally, I love this birth control method and I even have recommended Implanon to several of my friends. Insertion didn't hurt much, although, I do have a very high pain tolerance. The days following insertion were the worst, pain-wise, but it wasn't unbearable. I did experience nausea and dizziness in the first couple weeks as my body adjusted to the hormones. I've actually lost weight, and I haven't had a period or even a single pimple since insertion. The only serious side effects were emotional lability (probably the most concerning), rapid mood swings and some slight depression but honestly? Worth it. It's a hassle-free birth control method and I absolutely love the peace of mind it gives me."

For Birth Control "Implanon does it's job, but I do have really crazy mood swings and I have gained 10 pounds since I've had it in (even though I workout regularly). I have periods every other month (light flow but the worst cramps). Don't know if I can deal with it anymore. Not really used to the changes."

For Birth Control "I've got the Implanon in Feb 2013. The first day I had nausea but the doctor told me that would be expected. I was on Depo before this. My first period was 3 days. My next period was 2 weeks long. My side effects are cramps, headaches, depression and sore breasts. I like the fact I haven't got pregnant but the bleeding part drives me crazy. If the periods didn't come often and the side effects weren't so big I would love this but periods are the negative."

For Birth Control "Honestly it's not worth it. Was on it years ago for almost the whole 3 years, went from 65kg to 96kg. I just another back in 2 weeks ago after successfully losing 23kgs. In the time of having it back in, I'm almost 4 kgs up ALREADY!! I crave food all day everyday, I literally cannot stop eating. It's all I want to do. I'm constantly tired, have headaches, and feel depressed because of all these symptoms. I'm so upset about my weight gain and so scared it's just going to get worse. I'm having it taken out tomorrow"

For Birth Control "I had mine put in July 2009. I love it because my sex drive is way up. I don't have to worry about taking a pill and I don't have to use condoms with my husband. I haven't had any side effects. It actually helped me lose my baby weight. I would recommend this to anyone. Its a really great product A ."

For Birth Control "As I'm sitting here writing this. I have the implanon in and trying to figure out whats wrong with me as I'm crying reading theses reviews. This birth control as far not getting pregnant it works. But I used to be happy energetic, loved going and doing all the time. And now its like I don't even know who I am anymore. I'm lost, weak, and just feel like dying laying down and never waking up again. All it has done for me is make me have heavy bleeding mood swings, depression . I don't recommend this to anyone."

For Birth Control "I have had Implanon since June 10th 2012. I haven't had my period once, not sure if that's a good thing. I haven't spotted, but I'm not complaining. I have not got any acne. I have however gained almost 100 pounds. And I haven't really been able to lose weight while on the implant. And just recently my sex drive has almost nearly disappeared."

For Birth Control "I've been using Implanon for almost 5 years now, and I didn't experience any bad side effects. When I had my first one implanted in my left arm I did spot lightly for a little while just a few months, then I didn't have a period at all, or spotting, I love it. When my 3 years was up I had it removed and replaced in that same arm and still no bad side effects. No weight gain or skin changes or pains and I honesly forget that it's even there."

For Birth Control "For some people, it works. Not for me though... I've had a period ever since I got it before Christmas. It makes me extremely moody and emotional. It's now maybe working better? But not sure. I regret it, and I'm too scared to get it taken out. Even though it didn't hurt that bad to put in."

For Birth Control "I've had this inserted for about 7 months. I love it. I have 1 period when it was put in and nothing after but what I hate are the mood swings and I feel kicking in my stomach after multiple test I am not pregnant but the kicking still is present for the time being, it's freaky!"

For Birth Control "Before getting this I religiously read the reviews and I was terrified. Weight gain, no sec drive, depression were common thing I was reading in every thread. However I have had an amazing experience and I just want to remind everyone that everyone had different reactions, and keep in mind that it's normal for people to post negative reviews but people rarely post positive reviews. I went on this from the Nuva ring. I haven't gotten my period since I've had it in which is great! No weight gain (but I do work out and eat decently), and I haven't had feelings of depression. My sex drive isn't as high as it was without any birth control, but it's definitely higher than it was on the nuvaring."

For Birth Control "I wasnt ready to have a baby, when I just got married in 2008 though to 2012. So Implanon was the latest contraceptive then. I had the rod insert in my arm with minimum pain. But years later the removal was abit more painful. The side effects of implanon. I started off ok for a few months, than I started having irregular menstruation and breast tenderness. I started spotting drops of blood every 2 weeks. I was lower libido, and more aggressive. My temperament grew increasingly erratic. I also felt like my hair were falling out. After a year, I think I completely transformed into a raging monster. I was increasingly unstable in the head. I had another violent outburst and my whole personality shifted and it ended my marriage too. I had the implanon removed. I didnt recovered immediately, but after about 4 to 6 months for the hormones to wean. It has been 6 years since then and that whole period of my life was definitely out of character."

For Birth Control "I have had the Implanon for about 12 weeks and am going to have it removed next week. Although a good form of contraception for preventing babies, I have found it made me moody, anxious and at times down-right depressed. Also sometimes aggressive, and my libido dwindled to nothing (rather defeats the object). My poor young boys think an alien has inhabited their Mummy's body, and they are the final reason I am having it taken out. I have been irritable beyond belief with them and never was before this went in. My husband wants his wife back, my kids want their mum back and I want my life back. It works for some people. It has not worked for me."

For Birth Control "I LOVE THIS. I have had my Implanon since March 2012 and it is great. There will be times that I go for about 2 or 3 months with no period and then get one for 2 weeks. But it doesn't bother me. I don't get cramps anymore and I wrestle with my kids and my boyfriend and I never notice the implant at all. No negatives to this! I hope that everyone learns the joy of this!"

For Birth Control "I've had it in for 8 months now and only get my light spotting when stressed. I love the convince of no pill and one hormone. I have gain 5 pounds (I'm less active) and have a lower sex drive but its not that bad. I just find myself to tired to do anything."

For Birth Control "I've had Implanon for 2 and a half years now. I can't wait to get it out and I will never get it again. The main reason is I have gained A LOT of weight with this, and also I feel is the cause of my acne/mood swings. My periods have now stopped completely, besides the odd month of spotting. Spotting that may last about 2 weeks, then stop for one week, then come back for another week. It definitely does it great job as acting as a contraceptive. Handy for people who don't want to take the pill everyday."

For Birth Control "Pretty good birth control option for me! Have had it for 5 years now. I usually get my period once every 3-6 months. Only con is when I get my period, I'm having PMS symptoms 3 weeks before I get my period (painful cramps, tender breast, throbbing migraines, etc)."

For Birth Control "I was 140lbs at the time of insertion. I've had this BC for a little over a year now. I am now 115lbs can't gain weight, no appetite due to the depression, and very low on energy due to the lack of nutrition. Migraines just started they last for about 3 days. No sex drive, minor acne , NO PERIOD , moody , back pain, sore throat, flu like symptoms that go away within a day. Some episodes of vaginal itching."

For Birth Control "When I first started using contraception, I was put on the pill and it really messed with my emotions, plus I'd end up forgetting to take it every day, so I tried Implanon. During the first year of insertion, it did cause my periods to become heavier, longer and less predictable. However, after a few months, they lessened to the point where I no longer had a period anymore (huge bonus). Anyway, I'd highly recommend implanon as a form of contraception and will continue to use it myself. Hope this helps!"

For Birth Control "The Implanon worked great for me. Kept my periods regular for about 6 months then they started slowing down. After the first year my periods completely stopped! I didn't gain any weight. I get cramps once in awhile but that's about it and I never once got pregnant on it! I would so recommend this to someone! I love it."

For Birth Control "I'm 17 years old and my mom works at an OB/GYN office and had me get Implanon. The only negative part was it bruised for about a week and my stomach was a little upset the next day. I have gained no weight or have had my mood effected or any other bad side effects. My sex drive is just as high as it has been. I love it because I have not gained weight, I have light spotting to no periods and it's stuck in my arm so I don't have to remember my birth control daily."

For Birth Control "I'm on my third year with it and I love it! It comes out this November and I've had no issues with it at all. A lot of people have weight gain and bad period experiences, but me I've actually lost weight and my periods were normal. Not having to worry about missing a pill is pretty awesome!! Everyone reacts different to it, so try it and if it's a bad reaction get it removed!"

For Birth Control "I have had the rod for 12 years in total. 4 lots of 3 years. Finally getting the rod out now to give my body a rest and get ready for babies in the future. Previous to the rod, I had extremely bad period pain and heavy bleeding, to the point I would have to call in sick and lay in bed all day. With the rod, my periods sort of stopped or only came every 4 months. When it did come it was extremely light, more like spotting. Never had any issues but always knew when it was time to get it changed because I would start to get bad periods and lots of bleeding. Once I got a new bar in, that would all stop. Would recommends but obviously it does not suit all people"
