"Great birth control but made me extremely fatigued. Couldn’t get out of bed for nothing, might’ve made my depression worse but idk because it could’ve just been the not being able to do anything and feeling like a vegetable. Didn’t see many reviews saying this so I'm not sure how it would effect every person."

"This was my first time experience with any birth control, I'm 22 and have no children and take no other medication. Unfortunately, this birth control side affect on me was numbness on the left side of my body (left arm and leg were both numb). Also, my sex drive decreased tremendously."

"First off I have only been on this pill for one month; I will update when I have been on it for longer and how I'm feeling. Why I got on this pill? I was having crazy irregular cycles, I would go two months without a period and then be bleeding HEAVILY for nearly a month straight. I didn't really have any pain or anything but I didn't want to become anemic and many women in my family struggle with PCOS and endometriosis so I wanted to get this taken care of, not to mention even though my S.O. and I have been together over 3 years we're really not in a place to have a child so it was probably best that I got on a birth control again. (In the past I had the Depo shot and Aviane pill but had stopped due to the side effects I was experiencing."

"I started this medicine in August, so I haven't really been on it for long.. But, I did notice it regulated my periods. I had VERY irregular periods, which is why I am on birth control. I mean my periods were very light and lasted 2 weeks! And I feel like it made my cramping worse."

"I was on Lutera for over a year and was switched to this due to sudden spotting weeks 2-3. Big mistake, even though it ended the spotting. Side effects that followed were not worth the switch. This pill gave me headaches almost every day so bad I dreaded getting out the bed. Normally it was triphasic pills my ob said did it. Must have been something in the inactive ingredients or the progestin in this pill. No wonder it was so dang cheap. And my periods went from 5 days of medium to very light flow, to 7 full blown mostly medium and painful days with those headaches I mentioned. This was the pill my ob felt confident would be the right one. Um no. After 2 packs I told them enough of this. Just switch me back to Lutera and they did. I don't recommend this pill at all. But it also never hurts to try. What doesn't agree with me could be good for the next female."

"I love this birth control compared to the three I've been on. I took it for a year and had the best skin of my life, my periods completely went away not even cramping, and my breasts were a cup size bigger than normal. I'm looking to start taking it again four months post partum. I quit taking it for only one week and became pregnant ( planned pregnancy and happened a lot faster than I thought.) The pill they put me on after pregnancy has done the opposite of what this pill did for me and I'm having two periods a month and extremely moody. I miss this birth control and can't wait to start it again. I'd give it 10 stars but I had a lot of yeast infections while taking this birth control and none anymore. It's worth the yeast infections honestly to me. I'd rather go get monistat than go through so many tampons and underwear with heavy bleeding."

My hips have hurt very badly in the past couple of days. Really thinking about stopping this medication"

"Overall this pill did what it was supposed to do for me. I never had a pregnancy scare, my acne virtually went away, my periods were lighter, shorter, and less painful. I did not experience any weight gain at all that can be contributed to taking the pill. The cons are that I could count on having a mild to moderate headache almost everyday that I was taking the placebo pills, my sex drive randomly decreased dramatically, and I do think that it increased my anxiety. Personally, the pros always outweighed the cons for me."

"I was on Low-Ogestrel-28 for about 9 months before my family basically had an intervention with me and told me I had to switch to something else. It wasn't until about month #6 that I really started experiencing the bad symptoms like depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts and anger/mood swings. I also saw increased appetite, bloating, water retention, 10 lb weight gain. I was crying, lashing out and overly emotional I finally called my obgyn and I got switched to the mini pill and I feel 100% myself again. I feel like I'm on nothing. I came to the conclusion that estrogen and my body just don't do well, no matter watch brand of combination pill. This pill has big time side effects on me and messed with me psychologically. I noticed a drastic change 1 month off of them already like I'm mellowed out and relaxed. This pill landed me in therapy because I couldn't control my anger. As a side note, it 100% did its job which was to prevent pregnancy"

"I was on this pill from age 21 to age 31. After concerns of hypertension, my doctor inserted an IUD (Liletta). I gave it a go, loved the idea of not having a period or having to take a pill every day. After 5 months of insane mood swings, nipples so sore if I even looked at my breasts, there was a surge in pain, yeast infections, and a 10 pound weight gain with no decrease in blood pressure, I'm very happy to be back on the pill. On the Low-Ogestrel-28 pill my periods very regular and predictable. They last about 5 days, only 3 of those with significant flow. I have had no problems losing weight on it, no acne, no mood swings, or headaches. Starting back has been a shock to my body, as I've been on my period for about 12 days now but that kind of thing is to be expected when you switch birth control methods. Just started placebo week for the first time since the IUD removal and I honestly feel like a different person. I love this pill, never going back to an IUD."

"Low Ogestrel 28 was the first birth control I used. In the first few months of taking it, my mood swings were off the charts. Crying one minute, happy the next. I did not gain weight nor did I experience any acne. My cup size went from an A to a C and it did it’s job keeping me from getting pregnant. I have been on Low Ogestrel for a year now but have recently switched to Sprintec. I switched because my periods became irregular on Low Ogestrel. Some months I would have heavy bleeding during the active pills, then EXTREMELY heavy bleeding during all of the placebos. I went to my doctor and she prescribed me with a higher hormone dosage pill to correct that. I had extremely heavy periods before going on birth control so the low hormone dosage in Low Ogestrel wasn’t enough. If you have heavy periods and thinking about going on Low Ogestrel, don’t, and get a higher hormone dosage pill so you can have normal bleeding"

"I was introduced to this pill (Low Ogestrel 28) when I asked my doctor for a way to better control my horrible cramps and irregular periods. I would sometimes have cramps so painful I'd have to stay home from school. The very first month on it, I noticed a significant change in my PMS symptoms, and after almost two years I can't even remember what it was like before. I rarely have cramps anymore; when I do, they're very minor (I don't even need pain meds.) My periods are 3-4 days long, with only one day of heavy flow - this does mean I can't safely use tampons, though. This pill has been a lifesaver for me; I strongly recommend it to anyone with menstrual problems like mine."

"After dealing with breakthrough bleeding from other pills my doctor switch me to this. I gave it 3 months and I'm having the worst acne of my life even as a teenager my face was not this bad I look like a drug addict and I'm embarrassed and I'm getting off of this immediately."

"I loved the Low-Ogestrel, since I didn't feel any symptoms, and I didn't gain weight and no lost hair. The bad ONLY side effect is excess hair growth (hirsutism). My doctor switch me for another brand of pill."

"Just want to say this first and foremost. Every girl’s body is different and is going to react differently to this pill. Not everyone is going to have the same experience. Some it will work great for, others it may not. I’ve read some good reviews and some bad reviews. I’ve been on Low-Ogestrel for about a week now, and i’ve noticed no difference in mood or diet. My period lasted about 5 days on this pill and seems to be working well for me. I am not sure if my opinion will change over the next few months given that i’ve only been taking this for a week. But as of right now this pill is working well for me. I was on a different form of birth control a while back that gave me horrible migraines and nausea and so far LO has done none of that for me. I feel perfectly fine after taking this pill. As of right now I give this pill a good review as it has been working for me."

"I was originally prescribed Low-Ogestrel-28 once I got off the depo injection, which literally turned me into a different person. I only had two depo provera injections and I was miserable. Side effects ranged from weight gain, anxiety/depression, hair loss, no sex drive, and constant bleeding. The best way I could describe it is as having a literal dark cloud over my head. Anyways, I was prescribed the Low-Ogestrel pill and I’ve never been happier. I have absolutely no side affects, it’s amazing. My acne is significantly better. I mainly use the pill has a prevention of pregnancy and for my acne. So far, it’s been doing a superb job. I definitely recommend this pill, without a doubt."

"Before being on birth control, I had light bleeding, but terrible, painful cramps, and I started experiencing migraine headaches from my periods. The first bc that my doctor put me on I immediately started having worst abdominal cramping that I ever felt. So, after six months, she switched me to low-ogestrel 28, the first month was fine, but now I'm experiencing abdominal cramping again, and a little light headedness during the intense cramping, I take the pill in the morning, and the cramping happens, usually at night. I also think that its messing up my GI tract, because I'm experiencing upset stomach & diarrhea issues that I have never experienced before, I definitely will be switching to something else."

"I have been taking Low-Ogestrel for about 8 or more years. I has helped my periods significantly. I used to have long periods and horrible cramps but now they are light and very rarely do I get bad and or painful periods. I did not have weight gain from this, I had some acne the first month or so, but that’s normal with any birth control"

"I was on the pill for over 3 years; I stopped for a few months and started again, and this is what I've noticed. I still give it a decent rating because it prevented pregnancy and regulated my cycle. However, my periods never stopped being moderate-heavy and my cramps are actually worse on LO; I couldn't function without Midol when I was off. I also have highish blood pressure and headaches/migraines, which this pill only exacerbated. Off LO, I had sometimes-normal-usually-prehypertension readings and now on Low-ogestrel are again stage 1/2 hypertension readings and my headaches are much more common all cycle, as opposed to mainly a couple here and there. I'm only 19 and would really like to get back to enjoying my youth instead of feeling like garbage all the time, so I think I'll switch to condoms instead."

"I really like this medication, however it does make me a bit grouchy and mean during the first week of each pill package. My appetite is normal. My periods are very light. No cramps. Was worried about the weight gain, but I have lost weight so I am guessing it can be due to work or some ingredient that does not cause a lot of bloat and water retention. In result, I am looking forward to stay with this brand."

"Was on it for about a year and 2 months. Experienced no weight gain or mood swings. My acne was not severe by any means but it did flare the first month I started taking low-ogestrel, which went away the next month. Still get occasional pimples closer to my period. Had to switch because after about 11-12 months I started spotting during the active pills, which turned into full blown periods that would last for 2 weeks. Tried to ride it out because my doctor suggested it might be a hiccup, but it continued for two more months. Was bummed because I loved this birth control."

"Well just started these pills this month, on my third week and I could already feel some minor side effects. I started cramping within the 2nd week, I'm a little bit more moody, and my sex drive definitely decreased mainly because I've been cramping a lot. I will give it a couple of months before I decide to switch. Hopefully it goes away."

"I was on Low-Ogestrel for about a year and a half after getting married. I experiences about 30lbs of weight gain, moodiness, anxiousness and overall felt depressed. I stopped birth control in May of 2021 after my husband and I decided we wanted to start trying to a baby. I have always had regular periods. It took 2 months for my period to come back and now I believe I have pill induced PCOS. I get a period every other month and we have been trying for about 5 months now and no luck. We have started seeing a fertility doctor and are getting bloodwork done to see what next steps we can take. I definitely do not recommend any form of hormonal birth control if you plan to start a family down the road. Looking back, we both seriously regret the pill and wish we went with natural family planning instead."

"My pharmacy used this brand and cryselle interchangeably, but both were generally the same thing for me. I gained a lot of weight on depo before this, and though I haven't gained more on this pill, I haven't been able to lose much weight on it either. My face isn't necessarily breaking out, but cheeks have been red with little bumps almost like rosacea since starting this brand. It isn't constant but does flare up sometimes. The only really bad side effect I've noticed is I've gotten really bad anxiety and mood swings. It is still way better than how I felt on depo and the birth control is really cheap ($15 per pack) so I will stick with it until I have money to try other brands"

"I began taking LO when I was 18 as my periods were always painful, heavy, a full week long and irregular for the 5 years before beginning this medication, with cycles anywhere from 18 days to 35 days. The bad cramps, heavyish flow and lengthy period never really went away when I began the pill, which is the only reason I give this less than a 10/10. I fortunately never had a problem with my skin, and LO definitely didn't create any problem. The main reason I was prescribed this pill over any other is because it's totally covered by insurance. It has been very effective at doing what it's supposed to for me, ie preventing pregnancy and it's a really nice bonus to not have to panic about not being protected from a period that I don't know when to expect. I am going to stop taking this pill only because after 3.5 years, I am sooooo tired of taking a pill every day. I'll just take my chances lol."
