"On my first pack of Trinessa. I had slight nausea the first night of taking the pill and a headache the next day but otherwise, no side effects. I haven't gained any weight or broke out at all. No crazy mood swings either! I was terrified to try this pill because of the awful reviews but I have been totally normal."

"I have been on Trinessa now for nine months. Within the first couple of months I started experiencing mood changes and random panic attacks. I immediately called my gyno and she said it had nothing to do with the pill. About two months ago I started experiencing horrible side effects and they have continued to get progressively worse. I have HORRIBLE anxiety, depression, mood swings, nausea, mental confusion (this is the worst, I cannot focus, concentrate, and my memory is very poor) and I am very irritable. I even started seeing a therapist for the anxiety attacks. These side effects are a complete 180 to the person I used to be before taking it. I usually am a happy, fun, loving, and extremely cheerful person."

"I'm almost finished my first pack of Trinessa and the side effects that I've experienced are LOTS of bloating and also vaginal discharge. I've gotten use to the bloating, but the vaginal discharge is annoying and frustrating because I kept thinking it was a yeast infection or something like that and everything I've taken to try to get rid of it has not worked and it was driving me crazy, but after reading some of the reviews for Trinessa, I realized it must be one of the side effects of the pill because it started when I started taking it. The first week I started the pack, I had a lack of appetite, but I've been eating regularly since then. I haven't experienced any weight gain. Overall Trinessa seems to be a decent birth control"

"I have been taking this birth control pill for almost a year. At first, I was an extreme bitch and super emotional for about the first month or two and my breasts increased and I probably gained about 5 pounds. I also spotted throughout the first month of taking it. But after three months, everything went back to normal, and my acne decreased I had occasional zits here and there but now my skin is completely clear. Also, it has made my period 3 days shorter. My period used to be a week long and now it lasts four days and it's pretty light and I do not get any cramps. If you can make it through the first few months it's totally worth it!"

"Been on Trinessa for 8 years for mild acne and birth control. At first it helped with my acne significantly, but it also made me gain 15 lbs (even though I was working out like usual); I feel like the medication decreased my exercise tolerance and motivation. Now that I'm in PA school my acne has returned. Part of the weight gain was in my breasts, but also every where else. It also worsened my PMS symptoms, making me more emotional and irritable. Not fun to feel like you're always in a bitchy mood. Overall, it did its job, helped with my acne (at first), and was cheap, but the weight gain and worsening PMS symptoms were not fun. I recently switched to Implanon because I hate taking daily pills and want something more long-term."

"I have been on Trinessa for 2 months now and it is my first go at a birth control pill. Overall, I'm fairly happy. The first month was a mess, but now, by the second month, things are MUCH more regular. You really have to give this pill a chance to adapt and jive with your system. My acne is improving, after taking a terrible hit during the first month. I still experience occasional cystic bumps, but they are much better than before I began Trinessa. Trust me, the first month is almost hopeless. But, by the second month things are really looking up! Don't be afraid to try it because of some of the negative reviews, you've got to find out what works with your body!"

"I started Trinessa a month and a half ago after being on Ortho Tri cyclen Lo for a year. So far it's been great with helping my painful periods, clearing up acne, and preventing pregnancy. The only complaint I have is the slight nausea every now and then along with feeling fatigued, I assume this should go away the more I use it so right now it's a waiting game. Other than that I like it."

"I've been on this for a month and a half. At first it made me nauseous everyday but just in the mornings. I take the pill at dinner time. The nausea has gone away the second month. It seemed like my boobs did get fuller. But my mood swings were bad! First month I felt like I hated everyone especially my fiancé. Felt more depressed then usual and wanted to cry a lot. I knew I was being moody and stuck with pill another month to see if my mood leveled out. So far in my second month I am still extra sensitive and cry easily."

"This is the first birth control and the only birth control I will ever try, I love it! I became sexually active about 9 months ago and decided to have the birth control at hand. I read all these reviews and became so scared but I'm glad I tried it for myself! Me and my boyfriend don't use condoms but I've taken my birth control on time every day at the SAME TIME. I have never had weight gain nausea or vomiting even in the beginning. I have had a pregnancy scare since I've been on it and I get my period every fourth week of my cycle. I will continue this medicine until I decide to have children. Also I've had bad acne for years and to be honest it hadn't all went away but it has not gotten worse at all."

"I've been taking Trinessa-Lo pills for about 5 months now. So far in the past 5 months I had experienced the random nausea in the beginning, irregular spotting (which still happened to me last month), and I felt a bit more emotional. HOWEVER, this past week, I got my first ever panic attack and anxiety which I've never felt before and it's horrible. I do have a heavy stress filled workload as I'm a grad student, but have never felt like this. I've also noticed a decreased tolerance to wearing my contact lens, it's like there's sand in my eyes right when I put them in! I guess the only pros of the pills are that they kept my skin pimple free, periods light & short.going to get off the pills soon and see if it helps. Will try to update"

"I've been on trinessa for a year now I've never experienced any weight gain or nausea also it's done a good job preventing pregnancy for me. What I like most about it is out of the 10 different birth controls I've tried trinessa has kept my skin the clearest. I've had no bad experience with trinessa I do have slight mood swings here and there but Nothing too extreme."

"I am 28 and have taken Trinessa for 2 months. The first month I noticed I was pretty emotional as is crying a lot feeling very depressed especially the week before the placebo pills, also really painful periods that I thought bc pills usually help I'm on the 2nd pack and it's the week before my period, I cried for 2 days and actually felt like I didn't want to be around anymore. I never thought a pill could make you feel that way but I found other reviews that said the same. I just could not figure out why I was feeling like a crazy person until I realized its once again the week before my period. Please just be careful if you have any depression to start with. Pros, clear skin and no weight gain."

"I've been on Trinessa for almost 6 months now and I haven't seen many issues with it. When I first started I was a bit moody, but now that side effect seems to have gone away. Also I've had somewhat irregular periods while on the pill. I've had no headaches, weight gain, my skin has cleared up a lot since starting it. I'd definitely recommend it."

"So doctor recommended Trinessa because my periods have been inconsistent. So I have taken the first 10 pills for the pack and the first 5 days felt great never had any of the side effects. Then I slowly started to notice I would get hot and headaches out of nowhere. Then things got worse I would start crying and getting extremely emotional for no reason. I would feel like I was in a dream with fever, no energy, headache, and cry for hours for no reason. My hormones are all out of control now from just taking the first 10 pills. I wouldn't recommend this pill but then again I'm sure it affects people differently just like any other birth control pill. Just my first experience with the pill (Trinessa) has been terrible."

"I had to give this medication a 10 because, ultimately, it is extremely effective in the prevention of pregnancy. I started taking this pill when I was 17 and I'm now 21. As a teenager, it was great. No acne and predictable periods. But I gained a LOT of weight (I was usually 109-115 and now I'm 135-140), mostly in my thighs and lower abdomen that would not go away. I also completely lost my libido. It was devastating. I have terrible mood swings and am usually completely incapacitated every first day of my period. I also started to have quite a bit of spotting for the last year and a half. I'm always nauseous, dizzy, tired, achy, and depressed. It also increased my migraines and made them much worse. I do not recommend this."

"I haven't taken any birth control at all for almost two years since having my baby and I was prescribed Trinessa 3 months ago by my midwife. Periods are short and it has cleared up my skin so much which is awesome, however the bloating is terrible. I have always been a thin person and have never had any weight issues but my stomach is so fat and bloated it looks like I'm 2-3 months pregnant. Decreased libido is the other negative side effect that I am experiencing as well."

"okay well ever since I have started this bcp I have noticed a decrease in my sex drive and i have lost my appetite. I am losing weight which it's really good for me because I could dowith losing a few lbs. But tbh I don't see the point in a bcp if you don't even have a sex drive anymore. I am gonna continue with this pill but maybe change after this month is over.."

"I first started this birth control two years ago when I became sexually active. Children are not in my near future. Trinessa has been nothing but good for me! No bad side effects at all. I am a healthy 19 year old female and would recommend this drug to any woman who is looking to protect themselves."

"I am 20 and started taking TriNessa about a month ago. It's my first time using birth control and I wanted to get on it to help regulate my periods and to help with cramps. I'll admit after hearing about some awful reviews about this specific birth control, I was a little worried. Especially about the mood swings and what not because my boyfriend and I were already having problems with me freaking out about the tiniest things. After about a week of being on it my mood swings got a little bit worse and I would cry about anything, but it went away quickly and I mean they WENT AWAY. I am completely chill now. I haven't had weight gain or any other side effect. I love it."

"I have taken this pill for 11 years. I got on it after the birth of my first son on 2005. I have had no problems and I like that my cycles are light and last for only 4 days. I got off the pill in 2008 for a planned pregnancy. I got pregnant right away had my second son in 2009 and went right back on this pill and have had no problems at all. I am hoping to have another successful planned pregnancy so I am currently off the pill but I plan on going back on them. I am completely satisfied."

"I've started using Tri-nessa in order to skip my period -which is supposed to happen while I'm on my Caribbean vacation. I usually have a period that lasts 7 days. Just last month, while on Tri-Nessa, I had a period that lasted TWO ENTIRE WEEKS!! And I didn't miss one pill! I'm terribly worried that the same thing is going to happen this month. By the way, I never had this problem with Ortho-Tricyclen."

"I've been on Trinessa for almost 3 years because my period is out of whack, it's the only thing that works. My period comes every 4th week of the month. The first week I started taking it I felt like crap. I had almost every side effect but my doctor told me to keep taking it. It helped with my migraines and cleared up my skin. The only side effects I have now are bad cramps and back aches but other than that.. LOVE IT! DEFINITELY RECOMMEND."

"Hey everyone. So I have been taking birth control for the last 8 years for my period. I was having a period every two weeks so I was put on the pill when I was 13. I am 21 years old now. I got put on Tri-nessa about two years ago. I don't remember the name of my birth control before then. But it worked so well for me, cleared my acne, easy periods, no problems....until last week. I got admitted into the hospital on Friday for a blood clot in my left lung. I have no family history of clots and I don't smoke so they ruled it that it was the birth control. I wanted people to know to be careful. Because I'm so young to have something like this happen. So please take with caution. It's a very slim chance but it happened to me."

"Before having my daughter I was on Desogen for 5 yrs, with an amazing experience. It took me two yrs to get pregnant after stopping. Requested the same after baby with little difference. Had to switch 3 months ago for insurance reasons and have been miserable since. I am way more moody (weepy/short fuse), I've gained 5-7 lbs. Terrible bloating the week before my period as well as nausea/vomiting and bad cramps a few days before. Worst symptom: complete destruction of my sex drive. Like... I could really care less. I also started a week early this time for some reason. I am switching back next month and paying the $32 dollars a month until my doctor decides he believes me when I say that one child is enough for me. "
