"Don’t miss a pill when on Tri-Lo-Marzia. I swear if I miss a pill or take it too late, I’ll be spotting freaky-looking black clots and discharge until week 4 when I get my period where the gates go from just a crack to wide-hecking-open. But if I do everything right, it is a GODSEND. Severe cramps gone, no more mood swings, and a WAY MORE regular cycle. So yeah, set an alarm on your phone or something to take it, and it’ll be fine."

"I started taking Tri-Lo-Marzia a month ago. I skipped the placebo pills and went straight into my next pack starting with the top row. I began bleeding at the end of the first week, which has turned into a period and now is very light spotting (only with penetration, smh). My question is, does this mean the bleeding will stop soon? It’s been 8 days, and my period is usually only 6. Should I keep taking them? Will I keep bleeding? Any advice is appreciated!"

"I wasn’t having my period for about a year after my last birth control, which I didn't like (it's called Microestrogen Fe 1/20, I think), so I started Tri-Lo-Marzia to get my cycle back after being off for about 8 months. It worked. I’ve gotten my period, cleared my skin (haven't had a single breakout since I started), and I didn’t notice much, if any, weight gain (my boobs didn't grow much either, but maybe half a cup size, and I've been on it for about 2 months). This birth control doesn’t do much for me to relieve cramps or heavy bleeding on my period (actually much worse than my old one when my period was either absent or one day), but I’m fine with it!! Also, Tri-Lo-Marzia doesn't make me as mean as my last one, but slightly more emotional when I’m PMSing, but I think that's just usual for me. Anyway, this BC is the best if you don’t want too much change."

"I switched birth controls to this one. My birth control before let me skip the placebo pills, but if I skip it on the Tri-Lo pill, I start bleeding black blood clots out of nowhere. I also get cramps too, like I’m on my period. Even if you forget to take the pill 2 hours after you're supposed to, you’ll bleed the next day."

"I took this birth control for 3 weeks exactly, and I threw away the entire package, as well as the other 2 that I had. I was trying to clear my acne and regulate my period like everyone else on here, but for almost a full week now, I’ve been bleeding continuously, and it doesn’t seem to be stopping. I wasn’t supposed to get my period for another 2 weeks before this started. I regret ever taking this stuff."

"The first birth control I ever tried was Loestrin FE. It made me extremely nauseous and gave me terrible headaches. I’m now on Tri-Lo-Marzia due to my period coming every 2 weeks. So far, so good. I’m on my second week, and my period has not started. I take it every AM with food, and I feel perfectly fine. The only difference I’ve noticed is that my anxiety has increased."

"This is the third pill I’ve tried for heavy bleeding and severe pain. Other pills made me incredibly irritable, very angry, bloated, dizzy, and exhausted. This one has only made me bloated and exhausted. I can’t live my life this way. I’ll have to deal with the 5 days of major blood loss and pain that makes me almost black out, I suppose."

"Absolutely terrible. After trying this pill for only 5 days, it is now in the trash. I have had pretty bad periods my whole life, usually lasting for 10 days or more. The timing in between can go from 3-7 weeks. I also have frequent cysts and severe mood disruptions. I was put on this recently with hope that it would stabilize all this. Well, I will deal with what I know and try healthy alternatives. This completely defeated me for a week. My mood dropped to the lowest I've felt in a long time. I couldn't stop crying. My head was pounding, and I vomited for days. I almost immediately stopped taking this pill because it was SCARY. I've now been off for three days, and my head is still pounding, I'm incredibly nauseous, and I've started bleeding heavily. I hope other people can find relief, but I also want you to know that it can be shockingly bad. I've had issues with anxiety and depression before, and I wish my doctor would have been more concerned with the reaction this pill could cause."

"Went on this pill for frequent menstrual bleeding and acne and absolutely did not like it. For the first 30 days straight, had nonstop bleeding with black clots. Cramps got worse, as well as lower back pain. I was also painfully nauseous all the time and completely lost my appetite. I couldn’t eat more than a small meal at a time without completely being full and nauseous. I was told the acne would get worse before it got better, but it only got worse and then mildly improved. I can say that it did help get my cycle to only bleeding once a month instead of twice a month, but it’s not worth it with all of the side effects. Mentally, my mental health and anxiety got worse at first, but it leveled off and was fine after about a month. Overall, would not recommend it as the nausea is so bad and just constantly persistent."

"I’ve always had heavy periods that contributed to iron deficiency anemia and lack of energy. Finally decided to let my doctor know that I wanted to be put on a birth control pill (at 30, no less, wish I had done this in my teens), and this Tri-Lo-Marzia is what she put me on. I’ve been on it for over 6 months, and my periods are lighter and shorter. Overall, my quality of life has improved. I still get cramps for maybe two days, but those have never been terrible anyway. My level of (mild) acne has probably stayed about the same. I do think I gained a small amount of weight, especially in my breasts. I don’t think this has been super noticeable to anyone though, just to me. I think maybe my moods have improved a bit, especially since I’m not bleeding as much anymore, and those were always awful times. Otherwise, my moods are about the same. I plan on staying on this pill for a long time."

"I was prescribed this to regulate my low hormones. It made me really nauseous at first, but luckily that went away after the first few weeks. With that being said, it made my hair loss 10 times worse, and my acne is the same or slightly worse as well. I have been on it for almost 2 months, so I am still trying to wait it out, but so far it hasn't been a good experience, and I really wish my hair would stop falling out because I noticed bald spots. My boobs grew a bit, but totally not worth the other side effects. I will update my review if it gets any better, though!"

"I was recommended this pill by my doctor for abnormal bleeding, and it worked and helped regulate my periods. I had the normal side effects: cramps, headache, etc. The first couple of weeks, after that, it went away. I have no side effects, and I think it helped my acne a little too. I'm happy with this pill."

"I started this birth control in my late teens to get rid of severe cramps, acne, and regulate my cycle. It was great. I went off of it later because I lost health insurance, and my symptoms returned. Just recently started back, and again it is life-changing. Pros: no cramps, lighter periods, shorter periods, regular, fewer migraines. Cons: mild nausea with my first couple of months back on it, but that went away. I also took nausea candies to help. Definitely try it and give it 3 or 4 months for your body to adjust before you decide yes or no."

"I have been on Tri-Lo-Marzia for 3 months for painful periods. The first month was terrible. Constant spotting, terrible mood swings, breast tenderness, anxiety, and bad acne. The second month, all side effects decreased except the acne. My acne worsened with this pill. It is pretty bad currently, but since this pill has shortened and lightened my previously painful periods, I have decided to cope with the acne. It has greatly improved the pain with my periods."

"I have been taking this drug for over 3 years now. The periods are shorter, and there is no bleeding. There are no side effects except for one problem: gained weight, 12 kilograms. That's the problem, I can't get rid of it. I'm wondering how long you can take it. It is scary to stop taking it because the bleeding does not start again."

"My daughter started this pill (her 1st time on BC for excessive bleeding and length of period), and 3 pills into the pack, she broke out in hives, couldn’t breathe, and was hysterical. WHAT?? We called the pharmacy, and they said to give her Benadryl, and it worked. This is a scary pill."

"I started taking this pill to control bleeding but also to help with acne, and it did control my period but makes my skin break out in cysts. I can't wait to switch to something that controls acne better."

"I started this pill after a few years of not being on the pill for a heavy period. My doctor prescribed Tri-Lo-Marzia to help control the heavy periods. However, I would have rather still dealt with the heavy periods than the chronic pain I faced for the five months I was on the pill. Every time I called my doctor asking why I was feeling period-like pain almost every day, she said my body was just “getting used to” the pill. I was also suddenly getting UTIs, bad breast pain, and random severe mood swings. Well, I ended up going to a urologist and was diagnosed with pelvic floor dysfunction. NEVER in my life have I had an issue like this. Now, after being off that pill for 4 months, my body finally feels back to normal. The cramping has gone down SO much. Although the bleeding is kind of heavy again each month, I don't care. I NEVER want to feel that pain again!"

"First birth control pill that has ever made me bleed (spot) for months straight... I’m not sure if I’m not giving it enough time to work, but the bleeding and acne is not what I signed up for!!!"
