For Birth Control "I know every person researching birth control has heard this 100 times, but whether or not a pill works for you depends on your body!!!!! I have been on two pills before, and they gave me intolerable mood swings that sent me into depression (and uncontrollable crying spells!). Tri-Femynor was my third go at birth control, and luckily, it has worked for me so far. The first night I took it at around 10 pm, and I woke up at 5 am to throw up. However, I didn't throw up again (I made sure to eat meals right before taking it), and the nausea wore off after about a week. Other than that, I have not experienced any other side effects, and my experience has been great!!! If you are looking for a good triphasic option, try this one, but always remember that everyone's body is different, and what works for me may not work for you. The trial-and-error process is certainly frustrating, but you will find the best option for you!!!"

For Birth Control "I started this for acne help. I used to take ortho tri cyclen (the brand name for this) in high school and I feel it helped with my acne at the time, but I was also taking antibiotics and using topical treatments. I started it up again a few months ago and was on it for 3 months and hated it. I was bloated/retained fluids, food cravings galore, it did help cramping but that was the only plus. I went off for 4 months and then started it again a week ago, wanting to see how my body would react this time and it’s been just as bad. Fluid retention, huge food cravings, my moods are all over the place. I never felt that it helped my acne and even if it did, the other side effects are not worth waiting for things to even out, if they ever would. I don’t recommend this or Ortho Tri Cyclen since that’s the brand name for this birth control."

For Birth Control "The first night on Tri Femynor, I woke up to throw up. I got so dizzy that I couldn't even stand. My heart rate was extremely high. I thought I was going to have a heart attack. I do not recommend this."

For Birth Control "If you have issues with anxiety and/or depression, this birth control IS NOT for you. I have had generalized anxiety in the past (nothing too severe) but only after ONE DAY on this pill, I almost ended up in the ER with nonstop panic attacks. These were along with major mood swings, and uncontrollable racing thoughts. I took this pill for a total of 4 days and probably ate a total of two meals and slept maybe 8 hours over the course of this time. Never in my life was my mental health as bad as it was on this medication. After one day of not taking this pill I felt almost 100% back to normal. I’ve never had a reaction this bad to anything, stay away!"

For Birth Control "Honestly, everyone’s body and reactionsthat I read are different but I had NO side effects (10/10). In fact, after coming off of depo and going to tri feymnor I lost weight :) it does it’s job and doesn’t make me moody or irritable."

For Birth Control "I switched to this pill from one that I loved, so I had high hopes. I have had bad experiences with birth control messing up my skin horribly, so that was my main concern. For the first month, I had breakouts and woke up every day painfully bloated. That subsided, and my skin looked beautiful. However, I have always had a fast metabolism, and I gained 15 pounds in the 3 months that I took this pill. I went to the gym 4 days a week, lifted heavy, and eventually got to the point where I was close to starving myself, but I never was able to drop the weight. I also noticed that my mental health was not very good, and I had my period for 2 weeks straight at one point. These three points (the weight gain, mental health, and constant period) are the main summary of why I chose to go back to my old pill."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on this for years now. I still have a heavy-ish period for 5 days. I did not gain weight and have clear skin. I do still cramp and have bloating. I was very, VERY dizzy the first few months of taking this until I got used to it. I would recommend this if you want a “mild” birth control."

For Birth Control "I’ve tried this twice, with a month break in between. This has caused hormonal acne on my face on my chin the entire time of taking it. and within the past 2 months of starting it again I have gained 10 pounds, which I've never gained weight like this in my life so it’s been quite a shock not fitting into any of my jeans. It’s not water retention as it’s literally in my thighs and waistline. I'm not sure if to continue and see if it gets better but I also don’t want to risk getting any bigger."

For Birth Control "I have had horrible periods my entire life. Birth control pills are the only thing that help them slightly. I’ve been on Apri for 5 years. I’ve noticed my periods are getting heavy again so my PCP switched me to Tri Femynor. WORST MEDICATION I'VE EVER TAKEN. It’s been TWO DAYS and my anxiety is so incredibly bad that yesterday and today I’m immediately in bed after taking it feeling like I’m going to have a panic attack. My heart won’t stop racing and I’ve been having chest pains. I’m going to go back on Apri tomorrow because I can’t handle this anxiety stuff. Would not recommend if you have anxiety or depression."

For Birth Control "This was honestly the worst birth control pill after Sprintec (which I gained 25 lbs in 4 months on). I got off Sprintec in January and decided I wouldn’t use BC until I lost the weight which I did. I went back to my NP and told her my history with taking Sprintec and that I was ready for a new BC pill. she prescribed me Tri Femynor and within a week of taking it I experienced some of the worst symptoms: Constant nausea (to the point I thought I was pregnant) Vomiting Constipation Tender breasts Bloating Insane cravings Mood swings and depression Changes to my libido I thought I was pregnant and took a pregnancy test every week just to be sure. After three weeks on Tri Femynor I started the sugar pills and got my period. At this point I am not going to take these pills again. The level of hormones and the fact that they are triphasic doesn’t bode well with my body. I prefer monophasic pills with low level of hormones."

For Birth Control "DO NOT RECOMMEND!! This is my second year taking birth control. My first prescription I took was a name brand and I loved it. No side effects and it helped with my skin and a few other things. Since I moved to the city in May of last year the pharmacy I switched to didn’t take the original prescription I was on, and put me on this one and it is awful! I’m nauseous everyday and sometimes it’s so bad where I can’t get out of bed. I get really bad headaches which is rare for me, I’ve been gaining weight which is also rare for me and my skin is breaking out. Also, my mood changes 24/7. I went back to my OB to get another year supply and I told her I didn’t wanna be on this, she told me she would change my prescription. She sent me one to my pharmacy that was name brand and I was on it for a month, I liked it and no side effects and then I got put back into this one. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to take this. I would give it 0 stars if I could!"

For Birth Control "I've been taking tri femynor for about 2 years and I haven't noticed any huge changes. My period is always the last 4 days of my pill pack and is fairly light, with cramps that go away with advil. My skin didn't really change too much even though I was hoping it would help with my acne. I definitely think my boobs got bigger when I first started taking it but now I don't notice a difference. I haven't noticed anything with depression or anxiety which is good. Overall, a pretty positive experience. I could probably switch to a different one but it's not worth it to me because this one is fine enough."

For Birth Control "I’ve been using Tri Femynor for about 7 months now. I was on Tri-Sprintec beforehand & wanted to stay on that because my skin was clear and I had no problems using Tri-Sprintec. Tri Femynor doesn’t really do anything for my skin but I have gotten weird cravings late at night, and lately I’ve been getting headaches a lot, my period is like 4-5 days now. I also take my pill at 6:40am every day, I try to keep the same routine. 7 months no babies so I will say it works and is worth a try."

For Birth Control "I have been on Tri Femynor for at least 2 years. My mom had great experiences with a birth control that contains levelled hormones so I tried it too. I was on the similar generic version before I moved and they switched brands. Overall, I've really liked it. I have gained a lot of weight but I think that could also be attributed to a college lifestyle. My acne is absolutely clear EXCEPT for my chin. I have 24/7 breakouts on my chin and jaw no matter where I am in my cycle. Chin breakouts are caused by hormone imbalances so I’m thinking this is causing it. But my periods are perfectly regular and normal flow. Only occasional cramping (which I don't mind cuz at least I’m not pregnant). I can’t tell if the chin acne outweighs any of the positives so I’m scared to switch."

For Birth Control "I’ve been taking this for almost 6 years. It’s always worked well for me. Some peoples bodies work differently, so I’m sure the people who have had bad experiences are being honest, but that’s not my case. The other issues I’ve had is dry skin and I still get bad cramps and mood swings. Period is always regular and lasts 4-5 days. I do have nausea occasionally. And I had an ovarian cyst rupture on this pill and did ovulate once as far as I’m aware, even though the pill should prevent that. It’s done well preventing pregnancy, though."

For Birth Control "I’m giving it a 6/10 because you definitely will NOT get pregnant taking this medication. Even a couple months after taking this for 1yr my husband & I couldn’t get pregnant. BUT for me it was a back & forward thing. In the first six months I was fine. Not vomiting, headaches, etc. It wasn’t until going on 1yr my husband & I started to notice my moods had changed completely. I stopped finding interest in pretty much everything in my life. I became a couch potato & definitely never wanted to have sex, my libido had also dropped drastically. It even was hard getting out to do activities with our girls & no matter how much I tried to lose weight I’ve been just stuck. Not gaining anything & not losing anything. My periods were really great & right on schedule so I can’t complain about that. It also helped with my HS except the beginning of every pack. Everyone’s body is different so I can’t say take it or not. Just wanted to share my experience."

For Birth Control "This is the worst prescription I’ve ever taken. Originally I was prescribed Tri-Sprintec which I loved. I used it for a whole year and had no issues or side effects, clear skin which was nice. I moved states and my new pharmacy would not take my insurance so they tried to help me by giving me another medication which they offered at a discount although I still had to come out of pocket. I’ve only been on Tri-Femynor for two months and am experiencing the worst side effects. My skin is constantly broken out and irritated. I got the work sunburn on my face this summer. I’m constantly nauseous, suffering from bad headaches, feel anxious, depressed, and am extremely tired all the time. I would never suggest anyone take this medication."
