"I have been told I have polycystic ovarian syndrome, my period was never normal. If go to a year without bleeding then all of a sudden I started bleed for 5 months straight. Being overweight my doctor told me I would have to take two Depo-Provera shots so I did. I continued to bleed heavy and hard and very painful so I decided to find another doctor and he prescribed my Mononessa. I stopped bleeding in one week and when it was time to take the last 7 pills I was nervous to take because I didn't want to bleed but my period came and it was so light no cramps just a little moody. So glad I finally found something that truly works for me."

"I am having nothing but problems on this birth control. I am a month and a half into using it and I have been spotting often. I spot more with sex. I just took the 9 th pill of the new pack and I am already spotting. I am moody and crying very easily. This birth control is not working for me. All this spotting is messing with my sex drive and I just never know what to expect."

"I'm 38 years old and I've never taken birth control before, but I started having 3 weeks of bleeding in a month with all the crazy hormone freak outs that come with a period for the same amount of time and I finally gave in to my gyn/ob's suggestion to try birth control. I feel totally normal again except my sex drive has gone through the roof. Which I honestly have no problem with at all. Consider it a positive. And I'm not craving as many sweets. Again, a positive. On the whole I'm very pleased."

"First month went well. Second month I started bleeding spotting really the second week of active pills. I have now been bleeding for the last month and I'm tired. I've had all the symptoms of a period bloated, headache, tired, back pain, restless at night. I didn't have any of these problems when I was not on birth control. I really hate how this pill has made me feel as well as the all month bleeding."

"Before this I had been using the Depo Shot and then Yaz for a year and had constant bleeding and spotting on both. Once I started taking Mononessa my bleeding stopped in two days. It's been two weeks since starting the pack and all is still good. I have noticed a tiny increase in pimples and my breasts have become slightly bigger and tender, but not painful. I have high hopes for this pill."

"Before Mononessa I tried 4 different birth controls (can't remember the names) but all of them gave me bleeding constantly, it was horrible. Finally I tried Mononessa. It's helped so much, my periods are much lighter, no more acne, and I didn't experience any weight gain like the other reviews I have read. Also it is a lot cheaper. This pill is the one I've been needing."

"I have had the worst periods ever since I started at 13. Extremely heavy, full of huge clots, very long, and very painful. I am now 21 and finally found something that helps so far. Just finishing up my first month of it and my period was only a week long (mine usually last 3 months ). I'm still having a lot of pain which used to signal me that a clot was coming down but I haven't had any clots. Only side effect I'm having is the moodiness. So happy with this medication so far!"

"This was my first time trying birth control, and this one made me feel horrible. Nausea everyday and made worse whenever I drive. Cold sweats, and it's around 10 degrees out so I start shivering which leads to more sweating. Oh, the mood swings! I feel miserable."

"1.5 months in I started spotting. I am taking this BC continuously according to my doctors instructions and skipping the placebo pills to not have a period. I'VE BEEN SPOTTING FOR A MONTH NOW. I've tried many birth control pills and have never had this happen. There had been times where I had accidentally missed a day or 2 and started spotting on my old birth control but after a couple days catching up on my pills my body would regulate itself back out and the spotting would stop. THIS SPOTTING ISN'T STOPPING AND I HAVENT' MISSED ANY PILLS. As said before, I've taken many different kinds of BC pills and had NEVER had this problem."

"I started taking Mononessa around 3 months ago for irregular periods and for birth control. For the first 2 weeks I had stomach aches and changes in appetite. One day I would want to eat everything in site and the next day the thought of food made me ill. I gained maybe 1-2 pounds but after a few more weeks it went back down to normal. My periods are so regular, I know EXACTLY when they'll start and stop. I've had sex without condoms and haven't gotten pregnant. It's very easy to remember, just set an alarm and keep track."

"I am a 27 overweight female who has NEVER had a normal period. My period sometimes last several weeks... I was prescribed this medication today, a Friday, I took the Friday pill and within hours my bleeding completely stopped. There is nausea associated so I recommend taking every night so you can sleep through it."

"I have been taking these pills for abnormal cycles. I've had an ultrasound and a biopsy and doctors couldn't find anything. Have to take 3 pills a day just to slow up bleeding. Has anyone else had this problem if so did they finally get some relief."

"I'm 19 and I've been on mononessa for about two years now. I originally started it to help with extremely heavy periods, but it has helped with so much more. I don't get ANY acne anymore, periods are so much lighter, cramps are almost completely gone, and cravings and mood swings are not near as bad. I highly recommend!"

"Im only 15 and the doctor prescribed me this to regulate my period bc i would only get it once every 6 months and it was making me gain a lot of weight. I gained 20 pounds in less than a year. The pills have worked on getting my period monthly and at a decent flow. The only thing is im worried this is causing me to be depressed. I'm normally really happy and fun to be around but for about 2 months now my mood changes from mad to sad. Its rare when im happy. I dont know if it's just bc im still young and im having the typical teenage mood swings or if im actually getting depressed and it can be a serious problem. Im very concerned about that."

"I’ve used this pill for 7 days & I’ve been on my deathbed ever since. This is my first time taking any form of birth control. This pill made me so nauseous & dizzy that I couldn’t get out of bed. I have a very regular system if you catch my drift & This pill LOCKED ME UP. I’ve been having painful bloating & gas pockets & nothing I’ve tried yet had been able to relieve it. I’ve been scared to eat because my stomach is already so full & nothing’s moving. It’s also caused some substantial cramping. It makes me SO exhausted. I've been taking 4+ naps a day. This pill has been ravaging my system & I don’t really see an upside to it. I’ve been trying to give my body a chance to adjust but I will probably discontinue use."

"I got prescribed this birth control for abnormal periods and I've continued taking it for 4 years, I'm switching because of all the side effects, when I started taking it I felt very emotional, anxiety ridden, depressed, terrible moodiness, and felt insecure. It was at the same time I started taking it, I'm constantly nauseous and can barely eat, but will still gain weight. My face is always dry or oily or red, my scalp is always itchy, also have troubles with sex, like libido and lost my natural lubricant, I also started getting acne and get extremely depressed when I'm on my period and the week before. I've had to go on anxiety meds because of this. But I will say I never got pregnant, only plus side."

"I have been on and off of Mononessa for about a good year now. I have always had a problem with heavy bleeding, cramps and blood clots every time I've had my monthly cycle. I told my doctor and she suggested I take Mononessa. For the first week or so it made me feel terrible, headaches, nausea, Lightheaded, the works. I wanted to stop taking it but due to my heavy bleeding I knew this was better then having to change pads every five times a day. It stopped my period for about a good 6 months(which I still don't understand, is that normal) and then my period would just come back on its own and stay only for about a week. I went off the Mononessa but now back on due to being on my period for almost two months now. Make it stop! :("

"My doctor prescribed this for me to help with extremely heavy periods due to uterine fibroids. Two and half months in and I started bleeding every day, cramping and passing sizeable clots. Despite my fibroids, I never had bleeding in between my periods prior to taking this medication. This was great for two months but sadly did not work for me. Doc just told me to stop taking it while we figure out other options."

"I'm sure these would work well for preventing pregnancy but I'm a virgin and have no desire to have sex, I'm on it for my extremely heavy periods. This pill has done absolutely nothing for me. I waited it out until now. I'm on the 3rd month and I've already bled through 2 pairs of underwear and shorts on day 1 of my period...it's exactly the same as my flow was before and my cramps are just as bad too. This pill is literally useless if it's not going to help my periods. On the upside, I don't experience any side effects at all, it just doesn't do anything at all for me, good or bad."

"I was diagnosed with uterine fibroids and an ovarian cyst a few months ago. I went to a PCP and she prescribed a low-dose progestin pill to see if that would stop the bleeding. A month or so went by and it had very little effect on my bleeding, and one day I was bleeding so much I had to go to the ER. The ER doc prescribed Mononessa--4 pills a day for 4 days, then 3 for 3 days, then 2, etc. and that stopped the bleeding ASAP. I am still taking Mononessa, the regular dose, not triple the amount, and have surgery scheduled, but I think I will still take these. My periods are regular again, like they were before the fibroids, and I have not seen much weight gain, only 3 or so lbs but I was anemic and underweight before."

"It’s safe to say after reading all the reviews everyone has a different affect with this birth control. The reason I took mononessa is because I had long term bleeding that lasted almost a month. My doctor prescribed this pill 2 pills a day for 5 days then 1 pill until the pack is gone. My bleeding stopped on the second day I have one pill left and I’m spotting now with cramps. Overall I’m just glad I’m not bleeding heavy with clots anymore. But now I’m going to stop the pill yo see what my periods do. So I’ll keep y’all updated. I had nothing but mood changes with this medicine. I do recommend it’s just not for everybody you would have to pick what works for you. Good Luck!"

"Had been bleeding and clotting heavily for almost 2 months and thought enough was enough. Asked my doctor to prescribe a birth control so I could stop bleeding and the prescribed Mononessa. The first day, I took one. I was still bleeding, but the clotting had slowed down tremendously. The second day, still bleeding, but not as heavy and no clotting. On the third day, I took 2 (as suggested by the doctors office if the bleeding did not stop) and the bleeding slowed down even more. The fourth day I took two in the early morning (around 6am) and by 11am, the bleeding had stopped. I am ECSTATIC to say the least. This product worked extremely well for me and I could not be more pleased!"
