For Birth Control "This birth control Mono-Linyah is absolutely awful! It wasn’t even what my doctor had prescribed me! I went to Costco pharmacy as it’s supposedly a cheaper alternative, and the pharmacist gave me this and said it was the same as Sprintec, which is what my doctor prescribed me. She said Mono-Linyah is the generic brand for Sprintec. She couldn’t be further from wrong! This has made me break out terribly, and I haven’t even been taking it for a month. I’ve been getting huge, painful pimples all over my face. Oh yeah, and it was more expensive than Sprintec!! Definitely not worth the money. It ruined my skin."

For Endometriosis "Reading these reviews has really shed so much light on my situation. Since I started taking this pill, I've experienced extreme mood swings/depression. I often experience nausea and have gained 20 pounds in a year. I don't know if that is directly because of the pill or more related to the depression/exhaustion that I experience. On the bright side, my periods and cramps are much more manageable, I break out less, and I'm not pregnant. It does what it's supposed to do, but I don't think that it's right for me. I'm going to talk to my gyno to try to find a better fit."

For Ovarian Cysts "I've been on Mono-Linyah for a month and have experienced the worst pain where my cesarean scar is. I became prone to cysts by having the IUD back in '07, and now taking this brought them back. Having cysts from this birth control is rare. Hooray me! Not."

For Birth Control "I have had a really good experience with Mono-Linyah. Before taking this pill, I was on a different one, and my periods were terrible. I had horrible cramps, heat flashes, mood swings, heavy bleeding for many days, and migraines that made me throw up. I finally switched to this pill, and I skip the placebo week, and I have not had a single problem. It’s been about a year now, and I haven’t noticed a single side effect. It has improved my life tremendously."

For Birth Control "I took this for 5 months. I had severe cramps, nausea, heavy bleeding (with many blood clots). The symptoms got a little better in 3 months, so I kept taking it. Also, I noticed body hair decreased, so that was a plus. However, within the last week, I’ve experienced severe anxiety with racing thoughts to where I have discontinued this pill. My head is foggy, and I feel tense, with a general unwell feeling. Hoping this will ease now that my period is here. I let the nurse know, and she took me off of it. I know this will affect everyone differently, but if I can stop someone from experiencing this, then I’ll be happy. I do not recommend. I gave it a 2 because I did not get pregnant and the decrease in body hair growth."

For Birth Control "I was on this pill before, which was last year, and when I took it, it was perfectly fine. It helped with my cramps that were pretty bad, and I was very heavy, and my face was so clear. I stopped taking it and then got back on it again, and let me tell you, I’ve never been like this before. My face broke out SO bad. I’ve been SO moody and crying all the time for no reason. One moment I would be fine, next I would be mad for no reason. I thought there was something wrong with me, but it’s really ruining me, and if you feel like this also, you are not alone, and it’s not worth taking it anymore. Definitely talk to your doctor about getting on something else because your mental health is important. And I feel so bad for the people around me because I’m just so moody, and it’s not fair to them."

For Birth Control "I switched my birth control after 5 years from being on the Depo shot to taking these pills. I have been on the pills for 4 months now, and let me tell you, it is the most horrible experience ever. I am bleeding heavily every period, and I know the last week is supposed to be my period week, but I have periods every other week it seems like. Another symptom I have had is very bad depression. I came to the conclusion that it is because of the birth control pills that are making me depressed. I have never in my life been depressed before, if you know me, you know I am not like that at all. I cry a lot, my cramps are bad. I am very emotional and moody! I don’t recommend it, and like everyone says, everybody’s body is different, and I could just be having these side effects because I’m switching after all those years, but me personally, I don’t recommend this pill. I am going to try a different BC pill and see if I like them better!"

For Acne "Horrible. My cystic acne got worse even after 4 months. I had suicidal thoughts, appearance didn't help, and not to mention the most draining fatigue and loss of will to live. I can't get back these last few months of my life, and I'm switching to Trisprintec to literally save my life."

For Birth Control "I was prescribed Mono-Linyah over a year ago. My periods were generally light, minimally painful, and on average lasted a full week. After starting this pill, my periods are debilitating. The cramping is so severe that I will vomit for the first 2 days, and I bleed through super tampons every 3 hours like clockwork. Not one over-the-counter pain medicine, herbal supplement, or home remedy has ever helped relieve the pain or bleeding. The doctor and I ran multiple tests to rule out any reproductive issues, so I know it’s not any underlying condition that is making this worse. I would give this 0/10 if I could."

For Birth Control "I switched from Estraylla to this, and it’s supposed to be a generic. After my first packet was done, I was just getting brown discharge for 5 days. I was freaking out but let it be because people say that can happen for your body to get used to the medicine. I stopped taking the bc in all just in case I was pregnant, but the following month I got my period around the time I usually do. Other than that, I never felt any negative side effects."

For Birth Control "I started Mono-Linyah back in January 2020, and I had no problems until around September or October of 2020. I ended up developing gallstones from this birth control, and in a matter of a month, I was in the emergency room getting my gallbladder removed. Haven’t really taken it since."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on this birth control for almost 2 years, I believe. I suffer from bad acne, and it hasn’t necessarily helped, but it hasn’t made it worse either. I still get my regular breakouts a week before my period, like I always have. I used to have terrible cramps to the point where I couldn’t move, and it didn’t do much the first 6 months, but now they aren’t as bad as they used to be. But I also have been taking those Flo Gummies since January 2021, which seem to help with that."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I have been on this pill for about four months. My periods are regular now. Also, my sex drive has increased. But the first month on this pill, my whole face broke out with acne. (I’m still treating the breakouts.) I also became very depressed in the first two months. Sometimes when I eat, I get nausea, so I have to stop. Also, my skin has become itchy and my hair is shedding a lot. And my periods are still moderately heavy. In my case, I have more negatives than positives, so I will be switching."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I got on Mono-Linyah to regulate my periods when I was about 16. I took it for 5 years, and those years were the most miserable years of my life so far. I gained a significant amount of weight-nothing could help it, even if I exercised every day and ate right. I cramped 2.5 weeks out of the month. It caused bad mood swings, headaches, and extreme anxiety. It seems like I'm just naming every side effect in the book, but that's how bad this stuff is. I do not recommend this birth control to anyone. The only reason I gave above a 1 is because it regulated my period, but I had extreme consequences for that."

For Birth Control "I've been on four different birth controls since 2015, and I've been taking this pill for two days now, and I have excessive gas. I do it so often, but other than that, so far so good, better than the last two I had, I had to stop taking them the same day."

For Birth Control "I read the reviews before starting this pill, which made me nervous because of all the negative reviews. But my body seems to do really well on it. I’ve been on it for seven months now. The only side effects I’ve had are my breasts have gotten a little bigger and I get a little overheated (which doesn’t bother me because I’m skinny and always cold lol). Positive side effects is it has made my period so much better. I have endo, and have passed out, throw up, and had horrendous cramps in the past. Now I only get slightly painful cramps on the first day. Everyone’s body is different, and I seem to be one of the few who’s had an overall good experience on this pill."

For Birth Control "This is easily the worst birth control I’ve ever been on. I’ve gained 30 pounds, nonstop issues regarding my female health, and it has given me acne. It is so awful, do not recommend this birth control whatsoever. My doctor switched me to this one as I was having issues while on the previous one, and it exacerbated the problem. I’ve been on it for over a year, and nothing has gotten better. I’ve been tested for everything underneath the sun, and the only thing it comes back to is how this birth control has my hormones all messed up."

For Birth Control "I would not recommend this pill if you do not want to gain weight. I was on Junel Fe for several years then got off once I stopped having regular sex. I took Mono-Linyah for a full month and have already gained 10 pounds, even with daily exercise. If keeping weight off is important to you, do not take this pill."

For Birth Control "I feel bad that this medication has such bad reviews, but if we're being honest, switching from Sprintec to this was life-changing! Gave me zero side effects, unlike Sprintec. I did spot a little during the very first month, as well as some nausea if I didn't take it with food, but my body was adjusting to a different pill. Going on two years on this pill, and I don't think I can go back!"

"I had a great experience with it. It regulated my periods well, which was my biggest issue, and I didn’t experience any noticeable side effects. I can’t speak to its effectiveness as birth control, though, because I wasn’t sexually active while on it."

For Birth Control "I've been on it for about 9 months now, and I like it. I skip the placebo but still seem to get a period, but it's a lot lighter and almost pain-free. I've noticed that I've been able to lose/maintain my weight since being on it, and it's worked fine on my acne as well. Don't let all the negative reviews worry you. Everyone's different."

For Birth Control "I was taking Femynor before taking Mono-Linyah and was fine, however, I no longer had insurance, so I decided I’d do the online birth control and get it sent to my address. Well, the worst thing I did, this birth control is the worst I’ve ever used! I gained 15 pounds since taking it, I have the worst mood swings ever! Please be careful when taking this birth control!"

For Birth Control "I got switched to this brand from Sprintec/Tri-Sprintec, and after reading reviews, I was so scared to even start taking it. But Mono-Linyah has been soooo much better than Sprintec, Tri-Sprintec, and Estarylla. I used to get nauseous immediately after taking those, had mild headaches, no appetite, and NO sex drive at all. Now, after only one month on Mono-Linyah, I feel a whole lot better. I have zero side effects after taking it, no nausea/headaches, and my sex drive is finally back. My period is the same as it was when I was on Sprintec, about 3-4 days long. The only downfall I’ve noticed is that my face has a few more small pimples the week of my period, but nothing too bad, as they’re very tiny (and could be caused by anything, not just the BC). Overall, I’m happy and will continue taking this."

For Birth Control "Honestly, in the first two months I did have side effects like nausea, weight gain, and got bad acne, but I knew that my body would get used to it. After that, my body went back to normal and my skin cleared up, I wasn’t nauseous anymore and I started losing weight easily. As for mental health, it never made me get depression or anxiety, but then again, I never had that in the past, so maybe that’s why I never developed it. My periods came every month and I never got cramps or heavy blood, before I was on the pill, my cramps were bad and painful, so I’m glad they’re not anymore. Again, all bodies are different, but I really like this birth control for me."

"I had to come off of Tri-Previfem (which I have been on for almost 10 years for PCOS, and it worked so well for me until recently), and my gyno switched me to this birth control. The first week I didn't notice a difference, but when my body really started to react with the hormones, I got bloating that hasn't gone away and I began breaking out. On Tri-Previfem, I had glowing skin all the time and now I feel like I'm in high school again. I cannot stand the constant bloating. I feel like I've gained ten pounds and my boobs are at least a size, if not two, bigger. I'm at the end of month two and I can't do it anymore. Not the pill for me."
