"I started mono-linyah back in January 2020 and I had no problems until around September or October of 2020. I ended up developing gallstones from this birth control and in a matter of a month I was in the emergency room getting my gallbladder removed. Haven’t really taken it since."

"I’ve been off and on this pill, mostly on, for about 6 years. I only ever got off because I was tired of taking a pill every day so I’d try a different birth-control but it was never as good as mono-linyah for me. I've never had an issue with it for the most part. Really helped with my acne which is a huge plus! I almost never have acne on this but as soon as I get off I breakout bad. The only thing that I can really say that’s bad about it is if I forgot to take a pill and I would have to take 2, my boyfriend noticed a pattern where I’d be a little more moody the next day but I never noticed it. I also gained 20 pounds in 2020 but I don’t know if that has anything to do with the pill because we also we’re in a pandemic and it’s never made me gain weight before so it was probably just the fact that I wasn’t leaving the house haha. This pill also makes me move up a cup size in my bra, which I think is a plus LOL!"

"I read the reviews before starting this pill, which made me nervous because of all the negative reviews. But my body seems to do really well on it. I’ve been on it for seven months now. The only side effects I’ve had are my breasts have gotten a little bigger and I get a little overheated (which doesn’t bother me because I’m skinny and always cold lol). Positive side effects is it has made my period so much better. I have endo, and have passed out, throw up, and had horrendous cramps in the past. Now I only get slightly painful cramps on the first day. Everyone’s body is different, and I seem to be one of the few who’s had an overall good experience on this pill."

"This is easily the worst birth control I’ve ever been on, I’ve gained 30 pounds, non stop issues regarding my female health, has given me acne. It is so awful, do not recommend this birth control what so ever. My doctor switched me to this one as I was having issues while on the previous one and it exacerbated the problem. I’ve been on it for over a year and nothing has gotten better. I’ve been tested for everything underneath the sun and the only thing it comes back to is how this birth control has my hormones all messed up."

"I would not recommend this pill if you do not want to gain weight. I was on Junel Fe for several years then got off once I stopped having regular sex. I took Mono-Linyah for a full month and have already gained 10 pounds, even with daily exercise. If keeping weight off is important to you do not take this pill"

"I feel bad that this medication has such bad reviews, but if we're being honest, switching from Sprintec to this was life changing! Gave me zero side effects, unlike Sprintec. I did spot a little during the very first month as well as some nausea if I didn't take it with food, but my body was adjusting to a different pill. Going on two years on this pill & I don't think I can go back!"

"I’ve been on it for about 9 months now and I like it. I skip the placebo but still seem to get a period but it’s a lot lighter and almost pain free. I’ve noticed that I’ve been able to lose/maintain my weight since being on it and it’s worked fine on my acne as well. Don’t let all the negative reviews worry you. Everyone’s different"

"I was taking Femynor before taking Mono-linyah and was fine, however I no longer had insurance so I decided I’d do the online birth control and get it sent to my address. Well the worst thing I did, this birth control is the worst I’ve ever used! I gained 15 pounds since taking it, I have the worst mood swings ever! Please be careful when taking this birth control!"

"I got switched to this brand from Sprintec/Tri-Sprintec and after reading reviews, I was so scared to even start taking it. But Mono-Linyah has been soooo much better than Sprintec, Tri-Sprintec and Estarylla. I used to get nauseous immediately after taking those, had mild headaches, no appetite and NO sex drive at all. Now, after only one month on Mono-Linyah, I feel a whole lot better. I have zero side effects after taking it, no nausea/headaches and my sex drive is finally back. My period is the same as it was when I was on Sprintec, about 3-4 days long. The only downfall I’ve noticed is that my face has a few more small pimples the week of my period but nothing too bad, as they’re very tiny (and could be caused by anything not just the BC). Overall, I’m happy and will continue taking this."

"Honestly, in the first two months I did have side effects like nausea, weight gain, and got bad acne, but I knew that my body would get use to it. After that my body went back to normal and my skin cleared up, I wasn’t nauseous anymore and I started loosing weight easily. As for mental health, it never made me get depression or anxiety, but then again, I never had that in the past so maybe that’s why I never developed it. My periods came every month and never got cramps or heavy blood, before I was on the pill my cramps were bad and painful so I’m glad they’re not anymore. Again, all bodies are different but I really like this birth control for me."

"I’m sure this BC works for some people, but it did not for me. I had the worst nausea of my life, I had to stop taking it. I also had bad headaches, and was so tired from not being able to eat or sleep. I will definitely be switching to a progesterone only BC, this has too much estrogen for me."

"I’m on my fourth month of Mono Linyah and I have zero side effects now that I’m past the adjustment phase. I was on a pill a couple years ago for a brief time but I felt it was messing with my mood and mental health so I went off it. When I got my new prescription a few months ago, I told my doctor this and she had me try a non-phasic pill instead (Mono Linyah). So far I have zero complaints!"

"I think often times we assume that side effects will not happen, but I began taking this a week prior to my wedding. I am 38, do not smoke and do not have any significant medical history. My health is good and I eat healthy. After a week of taking this, we traveled to Vegas (3 hour plane ride), plus took a drive over to California and back. Throughout all the traveling we made frequent stops, etc...We were on vacation for a week. When I returned home I began experiencing shortness of breath. I ended up in the hospital ICU for three days with many peripheral blood clots in all my lung lobes, but one, and will be on blood thinners indefinitely until I finish my work up with Hematology. I realize everyone is different but just exercise caution and weight your options!!"

"I took Mono-Linyah for almost a year and a half with no negative side effects. However I wasn't taking it to prevent pregnancy, I was taking it because I experience incredibly painful period cramps for unknown reasons. It helped clear up my acne, stopped my cramps almost completely, and I think it might have helped alleviate some of my general anxiety but that's just my own theory. I stopped taking Mono-Linyah for a few months and when I started taking birth control again they randomly put me on Sprintec which did horrible things to my body. So if you're in a similar situation to me, maybe try Mono-Linyah or ask your gyno about something similar."

"I was on this for 2 months. I wanted to give it a chance. Immediately upon taking it I was extremely fatigued. I spent most days in bed and was unable to care for my kids. I did bare minimum. Usually I’m bursting with energy and would describe myself at a super mom. I gained over 10 pounds, I constantly looked 4 months pregnant and was extremely bloated. My clothes were tight on me. I was irritable and felt depressed. No libido. My placebo week, instantly I felt great. The dr said I was imagining it. As soon as I started again I felt awful. One week after throwing them away, I lost 5 pounds and my energy has returned. I feel great. It WASN'T all in my head."

"This is the third pill I’ve been on and it is definitely NOT my favorite. I will say it has made my face extremely clear, in the 6 months I’ve been on it I’ve had maybe 5 or so pimples. I don’t have acne but normally around my period I’d break out in a few spots, and I have not experienced that. Now, this pill has made me gradually gain weight I’ve gained like 7 pounds but it’s not even about the number on the scale it’s that I feel bloated all the time. I feel like it makes me retain water so much, no matter what I eat. My eating habits have not changed and I’m a pretty active person. Also, the biggest reason I’m getting off of this is because it has made me SO irritable and anxious about a week to week and a half before I started my period, & that isn’t normal for me."

"I’ve been on and off birth control for 10 years. I’ve several pills including Sprintec and the Nuvaring. Sprintec made me gain weight and the mood swings were awful. Nuva ring gave me my period for 3 weeks in a row. I’ve been on mono linyah for almost 3 years. It’s been my favorite thus far even when I decide to cycle on and off if it, my body never rejects it nor do I have weird side effects. I’m grateful this birth control hasn’t caused any adverse reactions. BUT it did take me a few to find a good one that worked with my body and not against it."

"This was the second brand of birth control I've tried after the first one made me feel horrible emotionally. However, this one isn't that much better. It started out fine during the first pack, but then it started making me so nauseous that I woke up to throw up in the middle of the night. This also happened a different night on the second pack. It hasn't happened since, but now I occasionally feel like throwing up or have other pain in my stomach area. The other issue is how much it makes me sweat. Before trying the pill I would have the occasional anxiety sweats, but nothing unmanageable. Now, sweat literally DRIPS down my arms, especially during the placebo week. I can't get my body to a comfortable temperature on my period and it makes an already hard week that much difficult. I don't think this pill works for my body at all, so I will definitely switch. It is very effective though, I will say."

"Mono-Linyah does its job as far as birth control. However, periods are awful and extremely long and heavy bleeding. Even if you miss a dose, the bleeding is heavy. Would not recommend!"
