"For me this Tarina Fe 1/20 is the ABSOLUTE WORST PILL EVER I just got off of it after 2 whole years starting when I was 16 years old. Before taking this pill I was happy and skinny with minor depression and anxiety that I've had my entire life and as soon as I went on this pill and everyday for the last 2 years I've had the worst depression EVER. I cry everyday and I have anxiety attacks, everything makes me cry and I had such bad anxiety I was diagnosed with tachycardia because my AVERAGE HEART-RATE WAS 150. I still have acne and cramps just not as bad. I got hives from heat exposure, bloating, spotting, no sleep, chest pains, muscle spams, dehydration, vaginal dryness . literally every negative side effect but ENHANCED ."

"Personally I didn't have any issues with this birth control pill, actually the only brand that I would prefer now, after testing out some other brands. I was on the pill for 3-5 months and didn't get pregnant. My periods came regularly during the sugar cycle. After taking 2-3 sugar pills, my light periods, compared to my heavy periods when I wasn't on the pill, would last 3-4 days until I would be back on my active pill. The only negative outcome would have been the small emotional outbreaks that I had, of me crying over the stupidest things. As well as, for me, during intercourse, my vagina seemed to be very abnormally dry, that was no fun."

"I was switched to this brand after being on Microgestin FE 1/20 for years because when I moved to they were no longer caring the brand. I was on it for about 2 months and then started to get extremely itchy and heavy bruising on my legs. I stopped taking everything I had been taking to try and determine the cause of the itching. After it stopped I went back on the Tarina and after the 2nd pill my entire body broke out in hives. Apparently I am allergic to an inactive ingredient that they have in this brand and not in Microgestin."

"There are certain things I really enjoy about this pill, it makes my periods very light and tolerable. Off of birth control, my periods are accompanied by horrible cramps and I would bleed heavily for 5 days. On the pill, I rarely experience a cramp and my bleeding is light for about 2 Days. I have noticed I have a been a bit more emotional and fatigued around the time of my period but it's not to a level I can't handle. There is one very bad side effect for me. I'm not completely sure if it's the pill, so I plan to get it checked out by a doctor. Ever since I started to take this brand of birth control I've had vaginal dryness. I believe this is causing my vagina to tear and bleed during sex."

"I have been taking Tarina Fe 1/20 for 3 months now. I have gained 25 lbs and constantly struggle with depression, bad belly pain, mood changes, feeling very tired or weak, nausea, swollen breasts, breast tenderness, etc... because of all these things my doctor has prescribed me Aubra EQ which I start next month.. I will see how that pans out."

"Before I started Tarina Fe my weight would fluctuate between 94-96 pounds. When I started my first month I started eating a lot more and I got very emotional. Now on the 3rd week of the 2nd month I finally hit 100 pounds, my boobs are sore and I’ve also been extremely sleepy on both packs."

"I had had the implant and bled for 5 MONTHS STRAIGHT with no sign of end. I became anemic because of it. Went to Dr, she switched me to the pill. Tarina Fe 1/20 is SO GOOD. I haven't broken out, my periods are 3 days no cramps, I feel less anxious and depressed. Stopped my 5 month period in a week."

"I've been taking tarina for 3 weeks. I was not put off by the breast tenderness and the larger cup size and the seemingly constant spotting because my doctor told me that is normal for about 2 months when just beginning a pill. However, I cannot handle the bleak and depressive feelings and moods I have developed. I wasn't perfectly happy before the pill but I've never in my life experienced such depression for so long and I do not have a family history of depression or mood disorders. I do not like to even think of sex anymore, I cry at sad songs, and my school work quality has tanked. I'm glad to know I'm not alone and hopeful I'll feel better soon."

"I went through a pack (3 months) of Tarina and it went really well! At first, I had pretty bad headaches but after that, it was a breeze! And my periods were so light (just enough to tell me the pills work) and I got almost no cramps. Nothing serious like the other reviews mentioned happened. I took the personal decision afterwards to not use birth control (had nothing to do with the medication) but I'm thinking of going back on it and would like to take Tarina again."

"I've been taking Tarina FE for a few years now. I recently received health insurance for the first time and went to a Gynecologist who prescribed Taytulla to me. I immediately began breaking out, my hormones were all out of whack, my sex drive was non-existent. I was aware that is was most likely the change in hormones and it would go away. I gave it a shot for 2 months and I became so depressed that I was was in such a dark place, which is very unlike me. Now I am happily back on Tarina FE where I will stay. This one just works for me. My acne is cleared back up, my hormones are back to normal, my sex drive is back and I don't want to hurt myself."

"I was skeptical of this birth control after reading reviews, but decided to give it a shot anyway. I started taking it toward the tail end of my period, and everything seemed okay, a little nausea but nothing too bad. But then two days after my period ended, I started bleeding again. HEAVY. Almost scary amounts of blood, especially considering my normal period was a bit heavier than usual as well. I was also insanely bloated compared to usual. The thing that’s making me quit is the mood changes. I burst into tears for no reason, which is SO unlike me, and I find myself being rude and on a short fuse out of nowhere. This is the first time I’ve taken birth control since I was a teenager, and it’s definitely been a terrible experience. I wouldn’t recommend."

"i just started my 3rd week on this pill (its my first time going on bc) and i cant say i love the pill, but i also dont hate it. the first 3 days i had really bad acid reflux, indigestion and stomach pains, it went away so i think my body was just trying to cope with the newly added hormones. my boobs have grown slightly, but not much. im definitely more emotional now, but not overly emotional like most people are saying they experienced. the only real negative side effect ive experienced is acne. the day after i started the pill i woke up with small red bumps ALL over my face. my entire forehead, chin and jaw area is so red and bumpy. im gonna give this pill another month or two before i decide if i need to change brands."

"I've been on tarina for three months now and its great as a birth control factor. However, I am very emotional now, not as extreme as others, but I do get upset at little things now and I take offense at harmless jokes that I would have never gotten upset about before the pill. I also notice that my cramps are strong (5/10) considering I barely had cramps before these pills, and I get bloated often. Overall it does prevent pregnancy, but crying, cramps, and bloating are the price you have to pay."

"I have been a crazy emotional mess, especially the last 8 or so months. I’ve been on Tarina Fe for almost 2 years, just got switched to a higher hormone pill in hopes it can help the mood swings. I’ve been sticking it out on this pill because I don’t have insurance so I couldn’t afford to keep going back to the doctor to find a better fit until now. Never had an issue with the breakthrough bleeding until the last 5 months. Very strange considering I’ve been on it so long. I’m hoping that a different pill can get my hormones regulated and get my moods back on track!"

"DO NOT USE THIS ! Day three of using this birth control, my skin broke out into terrible red white heads. All over my face, the next morning I woke up to rashes all over my neck, if you want to save your face and sanity do not ever use this birthcontrol."

"I've been using Tarina Fe for just over 4 months now, and I'm pretty happy with the results! I started taking it because I was having irregular periods and I was also having some intense period cramps . My cycles have been super regular since starting Tarina, and I have been getting basically zero cramps. I've also noticed my periods are significantly shorter, they only last 2-3 days. I've only had a few side effects since starting this, and they really only lasted the first 2 months. I had some noticeable bleeding the second week of my first pack, but and I haven't experienced any spotting since then. I also had some nausea during the first two packs, but I started taking my pill with a snack, which really helped, and by the third pack I wasn't feeling nauseous anymore. I haven't experienced any weight gain, acne, or mood changes while taking Tarina. Overall, in terms of regulating my cycle, improving cramps, and as a birth control, it's been working great!"

"I like it better than the pills I had before. I'm not as angry or sad. I have been experiencing constipation, breast swelling, and weight gain. I know the weight gain is purely the pill because Ive been exercising and dieting. Oh! And the pills gave me freckles. They're cute."

"I am on my second pack in Week 3 and I would describe my experience with Tarina as not bad. When I was on the first pack I definitely experienced those mood swings that everyone was talking about. I got mad easily and became very emotional. But I noticed once I started my second pack my mood swings calmed down a bit. I guess it was just my body adjusting to it. I haven't experienced any sudden weight gain. I am currently working out and eating right so maybe that's a plus. One negative thing I will say though is that it has made my acne WORST even though it says it's supposed to clear it. I have been experiencing maskne (mask acne from wearing covid masks) but it wasn't as bad as it's been since I started taking Tarina. Overall, it's okay. I will continue using it."

"TAKE SOMETHING ELSE! It's not worth your life! I've been on this birth control since December of 2019 (today is 10/16/2020). I experienced the weight gain, but kept taking it due to the effectiveness of the birth control itself. About a month ago, I began experiencing bad headaches that would come on in the evenings. After 3 hours and multiple tests in the ER, I was told I was being admitted due to having a double pulmonary embolism (2 blood clots) in my right lung. The next morning, the doctor came in and told me that I need to immediately stop taking Tarina, due to that being the cause of the clots. Now, I have to spend the next 6 months at minimum on Eliquist and Xeralto and simply hope they are effective. I can't pick up my 3 year old and am basically restricted to a light-duty lifestyle until I have a medical green light. PLEASE, please, reconsider taking this birth control. There are so many other options that do not have PE's as a side effect - rare or not."

"Made me extremely emotional. Typically a happy person all the time, but these pills caused me to experience extreme depression and anxiety for the first time in my life. Made me a different person. In addition, my sex drive went way down. Definitely do not recommend. I am 4 months off of it and am still recovering from the anxiety and depression I experienced while on these pills."

"I'm not sure if it's just me at this time but this has never happened before. I've been on this pill for about two weeks and I have extreme cramp like pains during/ right after orgasms. It makes sex unenjoyable. And I'm hoping this will go away and I'll be able to continue this pill because other than that I have no other complaints."

"Tarina has prevented pregnancies so far so good I used to be on Microgestin for the last 4 years then Plan parenthood recently switched me to the Tarina. I did notice my acne cleared and a few other changes on my body like gain a few pounds & a few headaches I also take in the night to decrease nausea side effects."

"I’ve actually loved this pill. I’ve tried others and been so emotional. I’ve had no weight gain, no loss of sexual drive or even dryness, periods evened out with no issues. I’d like to try taking it straight for 3 months at a time to avoid periods, but will have to talk to my doc."

"With these pills I didn't have any kind of BAD effects the only thing while being on these pills is I was very emotional. Crying over every little small thing that my boyfriend did. In addition, the painful pains in the abdominal were like having menstrual cramps. Oh but the sugar pill week! The WORST PERIOD EXPERIENCE. I go to university and I had to leave class because I had explosive diarrhea and when I say painful I mean excruciating cramps and blood clots falling out of my vagina every time I went to the bathroom (sorry for getting too personal). Would I try them again? If they were my only option but I wouldn't take the placebo's... Never again!"
