For Birth Control "I've been on it for two months and 5 days and it's worked great for making my period SUPER light and lessened the pain of cramps.. But I lost my appetite and hardly eat anything, I'm overly moody, I get nauseated really easily, breast tenderness that went away after awhile. It's awesome for my periods but I think this dosage is just too strong for a first timer on birth control."

For Birth Control "I've been using Microgestin 1.5/30 for a few months and it's worked really well for me. I've had terribly heavy, painful periods for 20 years - heavy enough that despite using Ultra tampons with maxi pads, I'd have to run to a bathroom every 2-3 hours. On one occasion, I ended up in the ER because I was going through super plus tampons every 20 minutes for over 3 hours. I was a little nervous to try the Microgestin but my side effects have been minimal. A little bit of spotting, a little moodiness, a little acne, but I've lost a few pounds and the bleeding is finally under control for the first time in over 20 years. I'm thrilled."

For Birth Control "I started taking this continuously due to horrible heavy periods that would leave me doubled over in pain and changing my tampon every 45 minutes. I spotted and bled every single day for the first SIX MONTHS on this pill. I finally just stopped taking it for a week when I started cramping and bleeding more heavily. I just let my body have a full period and then began taking it like normal and the bleeding issues stopped completely. It has helped with my acne and I have never had any noticeable anxiety or depression due to the pill. My biggest complaint is that over the course of 8 months, I have gained over 30 pounds and my diet and activity levels have actually improved since I began taking it. And it isn't just your typical bloating, I've noticed fat in places where I've never had it before in my life. I've found it incredibly hard to lose the extra weight, the only way to lose even a tiny bit is to basically starve myself for a week and then it immediately comes back."

For Menstrual Disorders "I like that I don't get a period but I'm having trouble losing weight. My blood pressure is up and I have 0 sex drive along with painful sex and vaginal discomfort. I've taken it straight for 2 years and I'm giving my body a break."

For Birth Control "I have been using LoEstrin FE 1.5/30 since Sept 2012. I've been on various other BC pills since 1999 and this is hands down the best I've experienced. I have zero side effects. My cycle is perfectly 28 days (to the hour), my period is short (2 days) and light (I use light absorbency tampons or a pantyliner). I cannot recall the last time I experienced cramps, and I only ever have acne in places I touch my face. I love this pill."

For Birth Control "I have been on this dosage for about 6 months. 2 positives, 1. I didn't get pregnant. 2. Very light periods lasting 2-3 days. Negatives. I get bad cramps (I didn't get any while on the Depo Provera shot or before birth control). I get mild acne the last 2 weeks out the month. Mood swings that I never experienced before. Tender breasts. And worst of all, my sex drive died! When I do force myself to be with my boyfriend, I'm too dry to enjoy it. My boyfriend and I are not happy. I will be starting Microgestin Fe 1/20 next week. "

For Menstrual Disorders "I have used this birth control for about 3 years on and off now for severe periods. I have no complaints. When actively taking my birth control I have no signs of my period. No cramps, bloating, acne, nausea, cravings, bleeding, nothing. Glad I started on this, it's made my life better!"

For Birth Control "NOT WORTH THE LITERAL MIGRAINE YOU GET!!! AND I DON'T PAY ANYTHING FOR IT!!!!! Worst BC I have EVER experienced! Terrible mood swings, horrendous weight gain (because if i don't eat every hour I get sick, shake and headaches - even after switching to taking the pill at night AND eating healthy alternatives - fruit, veggies, hell even crackers) How is it I actually LOSE weight (5-10 lbs ) when I start my period? Oh, because I'm not taking this God forsaken pill. You're better off being pregnant with how sick this awful BC will make you and how much weight you will put on. At least then you will have an excuse to look like a heifer. I have been on this for 3 months as I wanted to give my body time to adjust to it and it's been consistent. AWFUL"

For Birth Control "I just finished my first pack of this birth control.. and let me tell you. This has been the worst month of my life. The first week was fine. Until it was time for me to get my period. I expected some light cramping and bleeding it being the first month. But I was way wrong. My bleeding is still going on and my cramps lasted for days. Just uncomfortable enough so I couldn’t sleep. To add on top of that my breasts have been sore every single day. My mood swings and anxiety levels have been unrealistically bad. I’m a happy and outgoing person so this was extremely hard. Bloating and weight gain have made an appearance... I workout multiple times a week and it really has done a number on my self image and mental health. I have decided not to start another pack. I’m going to let my body reset and heal for a month or two before considering other birth control options..."

For Birth Control "I was on this pill for only a month, when I started to notice that I was having problems wearing my contact lenses, which I never experienced before. By the end of the day my eyes were red. I was taking Orth Tri Cyclen a couple years before and never had any problems. But with this pill by the end of the month I had experienced a real bad headache, sharp stomach pains, and vision problems. My vision on my left eye started getting blurry and I felt pressure on my eye as well. This side effect even continued while wearing my glasses. So I was freaking out because this is my vision we're talking about. So I stopped taking this pill and within two days my vision was back to normal and I can wear my contact lenses again, without any discomfort."

For Birth Control "Hello everyone, I started this birth control back in January of 2016. I needed to take birth control because I just started a new relationship. Anyway, when I first took Microgestin 1/20 and after a few months of taking it (about 6 months) I went to my doctor and she gave me 1.5/30. The reason why I went to my doctor is because my periods were not regular with the 1/20. I would get my period sometimes and it was my emotions were out of control. My doctor recommended 1.5/30. My first few months of 1.5/30 were good. I was more emotional, easily frustrated, moody, etc. Thats to be expected though. Now I am a year in with the birth control and I can say that everything is going good so far. Periods are regular, and no baby!"

For Menstrual Disorders "I was prescribed this to help alleviate my PMDD (severe depression associated with my hormones fluctuating around my menstrual cycle) and extreme menstrual cramps. I am at the end of week three of my first pack and the whole experience has been horrific. CLOSELY MONITOR YOURSELF when taking this if you have a history of depression and anxiety. I've been crying several times a day and have slept a full night in two weeks. I've felt more suicidal than I have in years and came close to checking myself into the hospital because my lows have been so severe. After talking to my SO today, it was confirmed that my mood has been greatly altered since beginning this medication. I have cramps everyday and am bleeding sooner and longer than normal."

For Birth Control "I hate this pill. Been taking it for 1 year and went to the doctor to switch yesterday In the past year I've gained almost 30 pounds which I CANNOT seem to drop regardless of how hard I try to eat well and work out. I've always been health conscience so I'm baffled at this weight gain. When addressing it with my Male doctor yesterday he basically laughed in my face saying it's absolutely not the pill... I'm also experiencing daily anxiety where I shake and sweat for no reason. I haven't had a good night sleep in months. My mood is usually negative and I want to cry all the time. I was switched to another pill. But I'm considering Miena because the doctor said it's directly inserted in your uterus so the rest of your body is not receiving."

For Birth Control "I got off the 1.5/30 because I was getting VERY irregular periods. I'd skip a month, but on that month that I skipped I would have period symptoms so I thought I was pregnant. I would experience little cramps and acne for about 2 weeks. Then the next month I would get an actual period for about 3 days. However it was very light. I thought this is very weird and thought my body was out of wack so I went back to the less hormonal birth control. I talked to my doctor and she told me that 1.5/30 is for people who are usually athletes and want no periods, or very little periods and that is why I had basically no periods. I eventually went back to the 1.5/30 because I do very enjoy not buying pads and tampons every month at a ridiculous cost."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I was on Microgestin for about half a year when my insurance made me choose between paying or switching to Blisovi. I chose Blisovi and only after being on another birth control did I truly recognize how amazing Microgestin is. It stopped my horrible cramps and excessively heavy and long periods in their tracks and gave me my life back. I've never experienced any negative side effects on it. The only bad thing I can say is it almost works a little too good, as in my periods pretty much disappeared. It's weird to go from a week long blood bath to like an hour-long spot of blood as your period, but hey beggars can't be choosers! I don't care, I'll pay to stay on Microgestin than that horrible Blisovi!"

For Birth Control "After being on Depo and two different pills, my gynecologist decided to have me try this one to see if my side affects would be less severe. I mainly got on this because my bf and I wanted to stop using condoms ;) I started this only two months ago (September 2015) and it started out pretty good; no side effects. By October, me and my bf noticed that my boobs were swollen (he enjoyed that) and I am now having painful cramps every other week. Now that it's November, I notice that my sex drive has decreased a little, I have terrible mood swings, and I'm lethargic most of the time :( But overall, the pill is very effective; my bf has not "pulled out" since I started and still no pregnancy! Totally worth it if you can handle the changes."

For Birth Control "My OB/GYN Prescribed Microgestin Fe 1.5/30 to me after finding out I had a large fibroid (12cm). I took this everyday for two months to stop my periods before my surgery because I was suffering from uterine fibroids. Heavy bleeding, large clots, painful cramps and urgency to pee every 20 mins! The first month I skipped my period, it was great however the following month I had abnormal heavy bleeding and I bleed every day for the whole month! Not sure if it was caused by this pill or my fibroid getting worse but it is now 3 weeks post surgery and I’ve completely stopped taking this pill. I won’t be taking it again. Thank goodness my insurance paid for it because I feel like it didn’t work for me."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on this pill for 6 years now and it’s been the best one I’ve been on. I was a Guinea pig for the first year with different pills but this was the one that worked the best for me. I’ve only had 1 or 2 breakthrough bleeds (mostly from user error) and periods have been lighter over time with a significant decrease in cramping, bloating, etc. it’s gotten my periods predictable down to the day. As far as birth control, I used it for 1+ years as my only form of birth control with no scares."

For Polycystic Ovary Syndrome "I was put on this higher dose hormone birth control pill in May 2014 when my pcos diagnosis was confirmed. January 15 2015 I was hospitalized for Acute Bilateral Emboli. It is now my belief, which should be confirmed in June, that the birth control caused the blood clots in my lungs. I have been on regular birth control 1/20 for over 10 years before this to treat menstrul pain and prevent new cysts from forming before I was diagnosed with pcos they just diagnosed me with ovarian cysts. Although I don't know if it was the higher dose that caused the clots I am no longer on combination birth control because of it. I will never be able to tale combination pills again."

For Birth Control "I have been taking this for over 3 months. I have very light periods that only last a few days (which I love). I started taking this because I got back onto the Nuva ring after 3 years of using no method besides condoms. Although taken the ring in the past and loved it, it didn't work for my body this time and I ended up having an increased amount of breakthrough bleeding. So I asked my doctor for a low hormone bcp. I was skeptical at first because of my past experiences with the pill but I love it. My breasts and stomach feel sore and tender for most of the month, and sometimes I feel more tired than usual, but I love this pill and hope it works for you too!"

For Menstrual Disorders "I am 35 and have had extremely random menstrual cycles for as long as I have had a period. I never know when the cycle will start, end or if it will be spotty or 5 gallons of blood. I am on the 3rd month of this Microgestin 1.5/30 and I will not be taking it anymore. The Microgestin has seemed to make my menstrual cycles right on schedule and with very little blood flow, however since week one, I have had the most painful ovarian cysts. I have never had these before and it started on week one but the last several have ruptured closer to ovulation. The first time I had to call the ambulance because I thought my appendices had burst. After 2 months, I started forming a belly that looks very similar to a baby bump, but it is not."

For Birth Control "I switched to this birth control after 3 weeks of spotting on my previous one that was after I had been on it for a few months. I was on this birth control for about 5 days and ended up switching back to my old one! I had never felt more horrible than I did on this pill! I got no sleep due to my throbbing headache that was so bad I couldn't even move my eyes up or down without feeling like someone was hitting the back of my head with a hammer. The nausea was terrible as well! I felt dizzy and like I was going to faint on this pill. I ended up stopping as quickly as possible when driving became unsafe for me due to the side effects I experienced from this pill."

For Birth Control "Got on Microgestin 1.5/30 after getting married (had sex with husband before we were married, but wanted to start birth control to eliminate condoms or pulling out for him). PERIOD: I had a short but consistent & heavy period beforehand, and now it's VERY light or non existent in the off week. Didn't get pregnant so overall effective. MOOD/LIBIDO: the hard part is being able to determine if my mood, weight gain, what feels like depression (never have experienced depression before), and decreased libido (LEAST cool) have been primarily due to the pill, of my life change/transition. Looked here today due to my first acne spike (2 huge pimples a day on face &chin) since starting to see if this has caused acne for others."

For Birth Control "This pill works absolute wonders for me. Before I got on this pill I had very heavy and painful periods. When I started the microgestin 1.5/30 the heavy bleeding and painful cramps went away. My periods are now light and the cramps are little to none. Not to mention I had a very bad acne problem, that went away too. Besides the headaches that I get once in a while this pill seems to be treating me good. No pregnancies or anything. It is actually worth it. It works! It also helps for more than just birth control."

For Birth Control "I was put on this birth control when Gildess was recalled. Gildess was PERFECT for me so I hoped that the change wouldn't be as different, but I was wrong. Granted, this pill did a good job in preventing pregnancy and there was no breakthrough bleeding. I experienced mood swings about a week into taking this pill and honestly did not recognize myself. I never understood depression caused by the pill because I never experienced it but this pill literally made my life hell. I was so moody, crying at the smallest things, and my sex drive was GONE. I also had no desire to eat because of the constant nausea and abdominal pain. Avoid this pill, the side effects are NOT worth it. Currently waiting to be switched to brand Loestrin fe."
