For Birth Control "I love this BC pill. I had a baby in 2014 due to the lack of being able to follow birth control directions, i.e., taking the pill every single day. Anyway, opps. After the birth of my daughter, I was on Depo. I hated it. My sex drive was gone, I was nauseated and dizzy all the time. I went to my OB/GYN, who then prescribed NuvaRing, again, hated it. It fell out, I couldn't use it during intercourse, it hurt so bad, nope. I went back to the OB/GYN and discussed my options. I asked about the pill, and we agreed. I have been on this medication for about 8 months, and it's working, lol. I get nauseated for a day or so when I first start my new pack. No weight gain, no babies-that is my goal. I get a three-month supply for 12 dollars."

For Birth Control "I have been on this BC for 3 months now, and it's the worst thing ever. I have constant spotting all month long. My periods last for about 2-3 weeks, and the cramping and headaches are painful. I don't recommend this BC to anyone. I'm always moody and never seem to have any energy to do anything. The nausea is the worst part of all, it lasts all day long. I have no appetite either. I'm not starting a new pack because I'm going to find a new BC. This one sucks and isn't agreeing with my body."

For Birth Control "I have been on this pill for 3 months now, and let me tell you, I have been extra moody, nauseous, and not feeling like I used to be. I used to have so much energy, and now I feel so tired and have migraines/dizziness. I'll get cramps in the lower abdominal area 2 weeks prior to my period, and also I'll wake up the next morning soaked in sweat. I don't like these side effects. Today I decided to throw the packet away. I'll definitely be using another birth control method. I want to feel like me again."

For Birth Control "I have been on Junel Fe since 2017. I must say I was nauseous randomly by 2018, also, by 2018, I was always mad, angry, and crying two weeks before my period. This got worse through 2019. My breasts are constantly growing, and my weight will not go down at all, little to no cramps, maybe once in a while, and sometimes my period skips. It once skipped for four months from May 2019 to August 2019, but usually pretty consistent. But the mood swings are out of hand. I thought something was wrong with me until I read these reviews, and others have them too. It is so bad I do boo-hoo cry two weeks before my period for no reason and really feel depressed once my period comes on, then the other symptoms go away. If I stop the BC for a month, I notice I don't have these problems. Oh, and tender breasts-really tender-not always, but most of the time before the period starts. These mood swings from Junel Fe are very consistent, just like the monthly period, but it works-no scares, no slip-ups."

For Birth Control "DO NOT TAKE THIS. I started taking this almost 2 months ago, and I feel disgusting. I get nauseous when eating, I feel sick to my stomach. I've gained about 3 lbs already. I've gotten so moody. I've had depression for the longest, and this pill made it so much worse. I cry over everything, literally everything. I feel bloated and crampy a lot. I have no sex drive at all. The only good thing about this is that I haven't gotten pregnant. I don't recommend taking this at all. Try to get off of it as soon as possible."

For Birth Control "The only thing worse than the 2-week long period (followed by a yeast infection) is my mood. I'm crying multiple times a day-- even at work. My anxiety is through the roof, causing stress and depression, which in my case leads to gastrointestinal issues (nausea and diarrhea). I've only been on this pill for a little while, and I cannot wait to get off."

For Birth Control "First time I took this pill, I felt nauseated all day long. I went back to my doctor, and she advised me to take it at night instead. I’ve been taking the pill before bedtime for the past 2 weeks, and I feel a lot better. I quickly fall asleep after taking it. Sometimes I still feel nauseated in the morning, but just very minimal and tolerable compared to when I was taking it in the morning."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on Junel Fe for about two months, and it has shortened my period and made my cramps easier to deal with, but I’ve experienced EXTREME nausea. There are certain days when all I can think about is how nauseous I am. I also have experienced mood swings, anxiety, inability to focus, fatigue, and almost constant bleeding all throughout the month. 6/10 sort of recommend."

For Birth Control "I have been on and off of Junel Fe 1/20 for this past year and previously took Loestrin, and before that Depo-Provera (worst three years ever!). I started taking Junel Fe back in January, and by the first week, I was already regretting it. I was eating everything in sight, having the worst mood swings, and 0 sex drive! I finished the first pack and gained 10 pounds in one month, and then took a break from it. Recently, I have had a pregnancy scare, which I resorted to getting another pack just to give it another try. Needless to say, my mood swings were awful, and my sex drive was nonexistent, to the point that sex hurt. Also, in trying another pack, one hour after taking a pill, I would feel nauseated and lethargic. Do yourself a favor and do not take these. They are a nightmare!"

For Birth Control "3 days and done. I don’t typically write reviews, but this medication ruined 3 days of my life, and I wouldn’t wish this feeling on my worst enemy. My body did NOT like Junel one bit. Took it at night with food, woke up each day throwing up and feeling incredibly nauseous. Emotions were an absolute nightmare. Crying for no reason, etc. I know there is a 3-month “adjustment period,” but there’s no way I’m spending 3 months of my life puking every day and feeling like an emotional monster. Anything hormonal is not for me!"

"I started taking this birth control, which my doctor just decided to put me on since we are in the middle of the pandemic (don’t know why she couldn’t have a telehealth appt with me and ask me what I wanted), and I have only taken three weeks' worth of it, and I must say I ABSOLUTELY HATE IT. I randomly was driving one day and got so nauseous out of nowhere I had to pull over and just start throwing up. Secondly, I have been in the WORST moods. I am usually a very upbeat and happy person, kind of known to be nice, and I have mood swings and anger issues so bad it’s scary. I would highly NOT recommend this. I decided to not finish these pills and am demanding to switch because my husband and mother cannot take my anger and neither can I. I also wake up drenched in sweat, which never happened until I started taking this BC."

For Birth Control "I started taking this birth control shortly after my first pregnancy. I have never felt so terrible in my life. After reading several other reviews, it all makes sense. Severe anxiety, panic attacks, randomly up in the middle of nights, extremely emotional, pregnancy symptoms which increased my anxiety, severe migraines, nosebleeds at night, as well as fatigue and nausea. I would not recommend this medication, and doctors shouldn’t either."

For Birth Control "This is the worst BC ever! I am always, always regular. Went on this after my second daughter was born. After taking it a week, I started spotting, which turned into full bleeding with clots, and wasn't due for my period for another 2 weeks. Felt dizzy, headaches, and nauseous. Went off mid-pack. Been on Alesse and Yaz in the past and never had a problem. I know BC is different for everyone, but I do not recommend Junel Fe."

For Birth Control "1 of the biggest mistakes I've ever made! I was on a different birth control and got switched to Junel because of insurance reasons. Right after starting it, I felt nauseous almost every day, and my anxiety and depression have been the worst it's ever been. I couldn't even be out in public without my anxiety starting up. Not to mention I was crabby and pissed off at everything and everyone for no reason whatsoever. I never thought it could've been the Junel doing this, but then I came on here and read all the reviews and noticed most of them described everything I was dealing with. I quickly contacted my OB and am getting switched to my old birth control!"

"I got on Junel Fe 1/20 to try to get periods on track to become pregnant. The first day was fine. Second day I turned into a crazy, emotional, dramatic monster who hated everyone. I'm very bubbly and lovely even on a bad day. I didn't feel myself at all on this. I have horrible acne now, which I've never struggled with. Maybe a breakout here and there every few months. My breasts are so tender without even touching them. My back has been killing me since I started it. The nausea subsided after the first week, thank goodness, but the second week I began eating everything in sight. I've gained weight, and I'm so bloated it's ridiculous. I'm always tired and have no drive. And the everyday, nonstop headaches are awful. My anxiety is through the roof, which I had just gotten under control before taking this. I also have no sex drive at all. I am only supposed to take it for three months, but I can't even make it three weeks. This was a horrible experience with no benefit."

For Birth Control "This pill is not worth it, EVER! I have PCOS and was given the pill to help it. I naturally am an anxious person, but the 6 months or so I have been on this spiked the anxiety! I was more emotional a day or two before my period than I ever was before I was on the pill! Then, there is the nausea right after taking it, which has led me to physically get sick from how it messes up my stomach. No appetite. Then, there are the horrible cramps and clot-filled blood, which was made WORSE by taking this pill. Nope! Never again! I was on Microgestin for years with minimal side effects. This pill has been 6 months of awfulness that literally only makes you feel worse the longer you take it. I cannot wait to finish the next 2 weeks of this pack. I'd rather get ovarian cysts than take these. Heading to my OB-GYN to switch back, ASAP! Ladies, if you find yourself anxious, stomach sick, PMSing, fatigued, crampy, and heavy bleeding while on this pill, you are not alone. Beware."

For Birth Control "I got on this birth control after being on the depo shot for about 3 years, and I've been taking this pill for almost a year now and skipping the week of my period and continuing the next pack, and it has stopped my periods completely! I did not have a period on depo either. This pill has been pretty great, and I would recommend it to anyone! The first 3 days of taking it, I had some nausea, but it was manageable. I’ve not had any weight gain, and my breakouts have cleared up tremendously. The only time I get pimples is when I should be on my period. This birth control has made life easier with no periods, no weight gain, and no mood swings with this one! Recommend this one 100%"

For Birth Control "Junel Fe 1/20 is the worst medication I have ever taken. I can’t believe this is on the market! I’ve read through hundreds of reviews, and so many of us women have had the same awful results. I had never had anxiety before this medication. But while on it for 1.5 packs, I was having at least two panic attacks a day. My brain felt at all times like I had consumed gallons of caffeine, even though I had fully taken both coffee and chocolate out of my diet. I couldn’t function, and I could barely take care of my two kids. I was having persistent migraines, dizziness that never went away, and I lost ten pounds in eight days because the nausea made it impossible to eat. I was always sick to my stomach and borderline dehydrated because I couldn’t keep anything down. I tried everything: taking the pill before bed, taking it with food, etc. I only got worse. I went to the ER five times in two months. I’m FINALLY off this medication, and my symptoms are slowly going away. NEVER TAKE THIS MEDICATION!"

For Birth Control "I've been on this BC for 6 weeks after having a tubal pregnancy and a fallopian tube removed. For 3 weeks, I've been having severe panic attacks. I get agitated, can't focus, and have racing thoughts. I didn't consider that the BC could be to blame until last night when I realized that's the only thing that's changed. I did research on this drug, and I'm relieved to discover that other women feel the same way. Don't get me wrong, I'd rather NONE of us feel this way EVER, but it's nice to know I'm not alone. Holy balls. I stopped taking this immediately. Besides the AWFUL anxiety, I've also experienced nearly non-stop bleeding, headaches, nausea, and fatigue. It could take a while for my body to 'accept' these things and level out, but I'm not willing to feel this way any longer. This BC is HORRIBLE, at least for me. I'm going to just switch to condoms. I don't want to chance trying another drug that can mess with my hormones, my emotions, my physical well-being, and my life."

For Birth Control "I wouldn’t recommend this. I’ve been on it for 4 months, almost 5, and I have never had more anxiety about becoming pregnant. I’ve had almost every side effect in the book. I had headaches, nausea, breast tenderness, cramps, acne, vaginal dryness and itchiness, and breakthrough bleeding. Most of these side effects were not super bad and actually did clear up in the 3 months like they are supposed to, except the acne and breakthrough bleeding. I still break out and get really bad pimples. I also have had breakthrough bleeding every month, and the bleeding had gotten better, but now I am having bad cramps with it. It’s miserable. It’s like I have my period for 2 weeks. The period on the placebo week is actually very light and very light cramps, which is a plus! I’ve not had a super good experience with this pill and am going to switch soon."

For Birth Control "I am a nurse and went into starting this by reminding myself that any new med can cause side effects—nothing prepared me for this. I took Junel for 3 months and stopped taking it yesterday. During my first month, I noticed: extreme nausea, acne, irritability, mood swings, a sense of doom that is hard for me to explain, which grew worse day after day. I live with anxiety, which has always stemmed from life events (a move, new job, test, etc.), but the feeling of dread that I have had for the past 3 months is crippling and is over nothing. I had several episodes of complete dissociation, which has triggered my anxiety to the point that I’m reconnecting with my therapist. Uncontrollable crying/sobbing, paranoia, I feel like everyone is mad at me constantly. I started this because of a new relationship. Fortunately, my boyfriend is patient and understanding, but I have lost myself completely after starting this birth control. I truly feel hopeless and like a shell of myself. Wouldn’t wish this on anyone."

For Birth Control "I've been on Junel for 9 months now. For the first month, I had the normal side effects of moodiness, weight gain, nausea, etc. I have not had those issues since. Overall, I've been happy with Junel. I've gotten a couple of yeast infections, but they cleared up with medication. I also struggled with breakthrough bleeding for the first several months, but that's common with any pill. What I'm concerned about currently is my acne. The pill has been helping my acne so far, but over the past couple of weeks, I've been having issues (acne along the jawline, although not as bad as when I'm off the pill). I intend to monitor it for a month, but if it doesn't clear up, I plan to switch."

For Birth Control "UPDATE: It is now March, and I had to switch off the Junel because I was getting severe chest/heart pains and had to get an EKG. I wanted to write about the symptoms I had for those months. Well, my pharmacy unexpectedly switched me to Microgestin the second month because Junel was 'backordered.' I was always extremely tired, nauseous, and had a continuous splitting headache. Also, I'm usually a person who is ALWAYS trying to have sex, and since I was on Junel/Microgestin, I am NEVER thinking of sex. No sex drive at all. Really sucks. Also, because of my PCOS, I still have severe bloating and pain. So the birth control hasn't helped with that either, but I understand it takes time. So now, because of the chest pains and other symptoms, I am currently taking LoLoestrin. I am genuinely an anxious person, so my gyno said this might help with my anxiety as well as my other issues. Hopefully, this pill will be different. The chest pains have lowered but still kind of remain. I will update again. Hope this helps, ladies."
