For Birth Control "I was on Junel 24 for about two years and loved it, had no acne, and if I did, it went away quickly. Was switched to Hailey because of insurance purposes, but now I break out every month. It’s kind of like I was never on birth control. It’s that out of control. I like this birth control period-wise, but acne-wise, it’s a no from me. I’m going to ask my doctor to switch me back to Junel 24."

For Birth Control "Bad experience. I would not recommend. I was previously on Blisovi for years, and I loved it. Had no issues whatsoever, but then they couldn’t get Blisovi anymore and switched me to multiple different brands. Then finally, I’ve been on Hailey for a little while. It is awful. I started questioning my feelings for my fiancé, who I'm marrying in September. I went from wanting intercourse all the time to now being appalled by it. Sometimes I don’t even want him to touch me. I’ve talked to someone who had the same experience, and I can guarantee it’s the birth control. Also, I never get my period when I’m supposed to, or I never get it at all on this birth control, which causes me to be worried. I never had any of these issues on Blisovi. If you don’t have to get this brand, I wouldn’t."

For Birth Control "This medication is awful, and it makes me want to be off of it entirely. I gave it the good old four-month try, and I’m at my wits' end. My breasts are so sore, some days it hurts to get dressed. I don’t get my period at all, so I’ve been taking multiple pregnancy tests out of panic. I have the worst mood swings, I get into an argument every night with my boyfriend over nothing. I’m so tired and have no drive to work or do anything with my day. I’ve gained a substantial amount of weight even though I work out and eat healthy. I just despise this medication with a passion. The pharmacies need to drop it and start carrying Blisovi again! That birth control I was on for three years and had no adverse effects."

For Birth Control "I admit I haven’t been using this birth control long, but the beginning side effects are already severely negative. As a genderqueer person who’s struggled with mental health before, I was initially quite nervous, and within a few hours of the first pill, I felt horrible. With each pill I take, I feel stuck in a worsening cycle of heightened depression and anxiety (which takes a physical toll as well, like stomachaches). I do not feel in control of my emotions, and I’ve felt numb to my emotions at times as well. I have never felt this bad in my life, I know everyone has a different reaction, but I personally do not recommend this birth control."

For Birth Control "Was on it for 3 months before deciding to switch. It actually worsened my cramps (not even during my period, but sporadically throughout the month), increased my acne (back and face), and my appetite. Didn’t notice anything with mood changes. Will be switching to Nikki and seeing if that works."

For Birth Control "I was on Nexplanon for years and was waiting on insurance to approve my new one, so I started this. The first month started well. I gained a bit of weight but was feeling better than the troubles I was having with the implant at the end (I had been informed my implant lasted longer than it actually did by a past doctor, and it was expiring and causing symptoms from expiration). Around the third week, I started getting horrible stomach problems, migraines, mood swings, and anxiety. I gained 30 lbs in 3 months, even after I got off of it, I continued to gain, and to this day I still have a sensitive stomach, am now on medication for anxiety because it messed my mental health up so bad. I’m finally leveling out 6 months later and beginning to lose the stubborn weight I gained on it. This was the worst experience of my life, and I’m happy to be back on my Nexplanon, but it’s taken a long time for me to even get to my “normal” on Nexplanon, and I’m not there yet. I didn’t get pregnant on it."

For Birth Control "Started using Hailey about 5 months ago, mainly for how bad my cramps were. Being said, it hasn’t helped my cramps at all, but it cleared up my skin, and I’m not pregnant, so there’s that. It did lower my sex drive to almost nothing, however, so maybe that’s why I’m not pregnant. Don’t love it, don’t hate it."

For Birth Control "TLDR: After my body was adjusted to it, I love it. When my body was getting adjusted to it for 3 months/packs, it was brutal. I've been on this birth control for about 9 months now, and reading the reviews, I was worried. The first 3 months were brutal, extreme headaches and nausea to where it was causing me to not do certain things. I had a lot of bleeding between periods the first month or two. Extreme mood swings for those couple of months. But after I started my 4th pack, it's like all the symptoms magically went away. I would sometimes get the nausea, but that stopped happening too. Now I am happy with the pill, it works great and no more crazy side effects. I did give it a fair shot, giving it many months, and I'm glad I stuck with it. But if you were to react as I did and don't think you can stick through it, I'd avoid it. A positive for some could be it makes my period very short and very light with minimal cramping, which is nice but was concerning in the beginning."

For Birth Control "I started this birth control pill because of the severity of my period flow and cramps. I had tried many different pills and contraceptive types, but this one was by far the worst. I had horrible cramps, and my period was super irregular. On top of this, I began getting severe nodular acne on my cheeks that has left deep, severe scarring. I was on this contraceptive for 6 months before switching it to another. It's been about 5 months, and I am still recovering from the side effects of this pill."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on this pill for a little over a year now, and it was the best decision for myself! The reason why I wanted it was due to very uncomfortable cramps and heavy bleeding that would affect my day-to-day life when my period would come. It has severely helped my cramps (minimal to none), bleeding extremely lightly for a few days during the last week of the pill packets. I was most concerned about my mental health as I was in a good place and was afraid that it would alter my moods, but I haven’t experienced anything mentally that was out of place or not normal for myself! I haven’t experienced any weight gain/loss, headaches, swollen breasts, etc. I struggle with acne, but after using this pill for the first month, I did have some flare-ups of pimples, but now my face is pretty clear after consistently using the pill for months. Overall, I am so thankful that this pill has worked for me and that I haven’t had any severe or out-of-place side effects."

For Birth Control "I used this for 3 months in an effort to shrink a cyst that I had on my ovary. During that time, I really didn't have any issues or side effects to mention. After evaluating again at the 3-month mark, the cyst had shrunk and I quit taking the pill. I'm 42, and my husband has had a vasectomy, so birth control isn't really needed. But now, after being off for about 3 months, I am having serious hair fallout. I'm just curious if anyone else has experienced this? I've gone to a dermatologist, and she feels it is due to stress, of course, it could be stress from a bit ago that we are just now seeing the result of. I'm wondering if the cyst, in combination with the BCP, is the stress that led to the fallout?"

For Birth Control "I recently switched to this birth control due to my lower dosage BC no longer working. My periods are just as bad, if not worse. My cramps are horrible, and my flow is heavy. I still have my period for 7 days. In addition, the first four months on this pill gave me horrible acne, and my skin is usually clear. I’d say the only thing this has helped with is to decrease my migraines. I’ve been on this pill now for almost 6 months and have developed a DVT in my calf and knee, and can now no longer take any combination BCs. If I could, I’d go back and stop myself from starting this. For reference, I’m 5'7, 190 lbs, and 23 years old. I gained about 10 lbs on this BC."

For Birth Control "I was on Blisovi 24 for 2 1/2 years, stopped it to have my son, then got back on it. I noticed really bad migraines as I was on it, and even worse when I took the sugar pills. I ended up not taking the sugar pills and going straight into a new pack to avoid a migraine."

For Birth Control "Within the first month of this birth control, I broke out, had acne all around my mouth and chin, meaning it's hormonal and from the meds. My breasts have hurt so bad and probably swollen a whole bra size, but seriously, constant pain, it's uncomfortable. I mean, it does its job, though, and I don't think it's affected me emotionally too much."

For Birth Control "I was switched to Hailey after using Aerovela (which I LOVED). Hailey was awful for me. I’ve taken so many pregnancy tests because I feel that bad and keep having bad migraines since I switched. I also bleed during most of the pack."

For Birth Control "I started this a month and a half ago. I had some irregular spotting a week into my second month. My face seems bloated, which is really weird. I have been getting this super painful cystic acne on my chin and around my mouth as well. It’s getting better as of today, so I’m going to give this birth control one more month to see if it just needed some time to steady out. No weight gain so far, but I am really active (run 3 times a week, yoga on other days). My boobs are ginormous, which sucks as someone with gender confusion, lol. They were sore at first, but they don’t hurt anymore. I definitely had some mood swings since starting, but I also have a history of mental health issues and oscillating moods, so I’m not sure if it’s related. I’ll update again in a month after I decide to quit or continue."

For Birth Control "I’ve had my period for 3 weeks out of the month, breaking out like crazy all around my mouth and chin, cramping, bloated, and I've gained like 5 lbs. It’s been only a month on this birth control, and I'm over it, switching ASAP, and today I’m just stopping taking it altogether."

For Birth Control "I looked at these reviews before I started Hailey and was really nervous because of them. I was thinking of not going forward with it, but I decided to give it a try. I haven’t even been on a whole month, and my face and back have totally broken out way worse than I’ve ever had, I have pretty clear skin. I have also had horrible breakthrough bleeding, I had been bleeding for over a week, and it was almost worse than a period. I had to stop taking it because it seemed there was no end in sight for the bleeding, and I was losing a lot of blood."

For Birth Control "After taking this for five months… • no period (I’ve never missed a period, let alone 5) • breasts are sore every single day • absolutely no libido • skin is constantly itching, like I’ve got bugs • extreme depression - crying all the time, feeling empty. I’ve an appointment to change b.c. at the end of the month because this experience has been traumatic."

For Birth Control "I have recently been prescribed this medication due to a thin uterus lining and periods every 10-14 days. Still fairly new to this, but as I take it, I am nervous. I haven't done birth control in 15 years and have no babies. Low appetite, headache, and highly easily tempered. I will update within the 2nd to 3rd pack, as my OB/GYN said it’s being used to reset the lady parts."

For Birth Control "This was my first birth control, and I was nervous because of all the questionable reviews, but I've had a great experience with it so far. I skip the placebo pills so I don't get my period, which has been fantastic, and my boobs have gotten bigger. That's basically all that has changed. Also, I haven't gotten pregnant so that's great."

For Birth Control "This is making me extremely moody. I am also having random nausea and lightheadedness that I would not usually have. I am having bumps on my forehead (like, the hormonal acne underneath your skin). I am breaking out all over my face, and it's ruining my self-confidence and making me feel like crap. Not to mention that it has increased my anxiety and made me have trouble with digestion. I haven’t been taking it for long. So, I will need to keep doing this for at least a month. But one more underneath-the-skin bump and I’m done. It’s not worth it. I did not want to use this, I was forced into getting on birth control."

For Birth Control "I’m pretty sure this brand is giving me depression because I was fine before I started taking it. Not only that, but my emotions are all over the place, and I've been lashing out a lot more often. OH! The first pack I took, I skipped my sugar pills, and now I’m on my 4th pack-still no period. Maybe I just need to change the brand? Maybe that will make a difference. Everyone’s different, though, so everyone will react differently."
