Ortho Evra (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "Well, basically when I first used it, it was great, only had tender breasts, felt a little sick, but it went away. Then all of a sudden I had these terrible mood swings. Felt really emotional. And I've been that exhausted, I've had to take naps during the day. So yeah, not that good for me."

Ortho Evra (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "I first decided to try the patch after trying the pills for several months. I liked the idea of only having to worry about changing it once a week as oppose to having to worry about the pill every day. At first everything was perfect, I had some spotting here and there but nothing major. My mood was normal and I had no weight gain. The downside of it for me were the headaches. I got terrible headaches from it."

Ortho Evra (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "I started the patch on Friday. I felt fine Friday night. I woke up Saturday morning and felt okay. As the day progressed, my nausea got worse. Woke up Sunday feeling okay, but around 11 PM, the nausea came back. I had a headache and my saliva was really thick. I went to bed that night feeling horrible, not getting much sleep. Monday, I woke up feeling extremely lethargic. I ended up having to leave work early because I thought I was going to pass out. I went home and slept most of the day. Tuesday morning, I spent by the toilet and called my doctor, who told me to take it off if it continued. I just took it off 30 minutes ago and I already feel better."

Xulane (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "Been on it for 10 months. Had mood swings and on and off bleeding the first month, but after that it worked great ( i did do the quick start method) i usually keep it on my shoulders and i hardly remember its there once i've applied it. only once had it peel, and my pharmacist simply gave me a new box (he explained that he told the manufacturer it had malfunctioned and they will send a replacement) i switch patches on friday, and my period always starts monday. it ends by friday when i apply the next patch. period is now light and pretty much cramp free, i barely notice. as far as birth control, my boyfriend and i very rarely use condoms anymore and i have had no issues with pregnancy."

Xulane (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "I've used Xulane for 9 years I couldn't do the pills I'd get sick even with the low dose ones. I started to use it for my acne because my acne was super bad, the ones that hurt and you couldn't cover up with makeup.( Xulane helped a lot it cleared my skin so much :) to the point I never had acne anymore. Then of course it has help me not to get prego too. I'm off of it now and trying to get prego. I did conceive a few months after I got off the patch, but I had a miscarriage. I also remember my doctor saying if you were a certain weight that it wouldn’t work I don’t think that’s true because I was over that limit weight and I never got pregnant"

Ortho Evra (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "Loved the patch! Been using it for about 5 months. The first 2 months my breasts were super sore, but I went up 2 cup sizes! Soreness started to taper off after 2 months. Weight, acne, and sex drive did not seem to be impacted. If anything, they got better. Only complaint is that the patch would sometimes cause my skin to itch a lot."

Ortho Evra (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "Been on the patch for almost four months now, and I love it! It is much more convenient than taking birth control pills every day, most of the time, I forget I even have it on. The first month, I experienced really emotional mood swings and a really heavy, long period. Those side effects have really tapered off since then, I'm still slightly more emotional during my period, and it still can be a little heavy the first day or two. Nothing too bad at all, and I think the longer I'm on the patch, the better it'll get. It is also completely free with my current insurance plan. And the best part, it is effective! All in all, I'd totally recommend it."

Ortho Evra (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "I started Ortho Evra about 3 months ago. Let me just say, it has changed my life for the better. One, my period is more light and short. My sex drive has gone up. I have put on a little weight. But, to me, it's good weight. My breasts have increased from a C cup to a DD! I'm not complaining there! The only complaint that I have had is one patch did come off. I noticed right away and put on a new patch. Nothing to worry about. This was my first birth control method, so I can't compare it to other forms, but I honestly love it and will continue to use it."

Xulane (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "I took the Xulane patch because I wanted another option for birth control. This was the worst. I put the patch on on a Sunday and by Sunday night I was having extreme headache and on Monday morning I was violently vomiting uncontrollably. I took the patch off and felt fine for the rest of the day despite a horrible headache for the rest of the day and the next day. I switched back to a new pill (Lo Loestrin) and I love it. No side effects so far and very happy with it."

Ortho Evra (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "Been on it for 2 months now, increased 2 cup sizes and lost weight! Went from 140 to 128-130 lbs, only thing is, I'm SO emotional. It's driving my boyfriend and me crazy, I cry about everything. No babies, bigger breasts, weight loss. Sounds good to me! Only problem is emotions, but I'm sure they'll subside."

Ortho Evra (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "I was on the depo recently. Switched to the pill and after month 3 just wanted to throw up every morning. Remember having these side effects when younger. So. Had a break and jumped to Evra! Can say this is the last and final switch! Three weeks in so far so good. Just boobs have shot up a size. Nipples sensitive to touch. Hurts to lay on front. But can't complain looks like I've had a boob job and I know it's temporary. No morning sickness. Not hot flushes (pill gave me). No anxiety of some kind that always managed to rear its head. More motivated. No spots. It's a slow release so I believe as it's not going through blood stream it is necessarily better for you. Definitely recommend if you're out of contraceptive ideas due to above side/e"

Ortho Evra (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "I've been using the patch for over two years because I have no other choice. only upside is ive never gotten pregnant on it. Right away I noticed side effects of gaining weight and nausea. Over time the symptoms became worse. Everyday Monday after changing the patch I become very ill. I wake up hot and disorientated. Then my body forces me to violently vomit for 4-5 hours. While this happens I experience chest pain. Difficulty breathing. Extreme exhaustion. so dizzy I can't walk. My heart feels like it almost skips beats then tries to catch up to itself. It's like having food poisoning."

Ortho Evra (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "I love the patch. I'm 17, and I use it to regulate my periods. They used to be very irregular and long, and now they come like clockwork. They're kind of heavy, but they only last 4-5 days, which is so nice. The first week of the patch, I felt pretty nauseated, and I had loss of appetite, but after that, I was fine. No nausea, no headaches, and my breasts got bigger. The only problem is that I'm extremely emotional. I overreact and cry a lot, especially before/during my period. Overall, though, the patch is great, and way easier than the pill. I recommend it."

Ortho Evra (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "I was on the Depo shot for 2 years, at first, it was fine, but in the last 6 months, I became very depressed, my anxiety levels were through the roof. I gained a few extra pounds, and I had mood swings like crazy! I decided to try the patch since it has different hormones, and even though I just finished my first week, I can already see a difference. I'm not moody at all, I'm a lot happier and more myself. And I've even lost a few pounds. Other than the breast tenderness, everything else is completely fine. I'll still have hormones from the shot in me for a while longer, and I never had my period with the shot. I'll just have to wait and see!"

Ortho Evra (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "I ended up trying the patch after having too many bad experiences with the pill form. I have fibroids and am extremely irregular (skipping months at a time), so I really needed to be on something. The first few months were a bit rough, but it evened out pretty smoothly after that. I've now been on the patch for over two years, and I absolutely love it. I've never had it fall off, and I no longer have any side effects. In fact, 99% of the time, I forget it's even there. Not pregnant yet either, so it works there too. Great option if you can't handle the pill."

Ortho Evra (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "I was completely new to birth control and did not want to be on a pill due to all the stories I've heard. The patch is amazing! Only have to worry about it once a week, haven't had any side effects, not even bleeding or spotting, get to have my regular period, and is basically so convenient. It is on the more expensive side, especially if insurance won't cover it, but for me, it was worth it. I don't have to wait for my period to start when I do plan on getting pregnant and is easy to wear. I prefer to wear mine on my shoulder blade because it doesn't rub against my clothes and people don't notice it, which is nice. This is a great birth control, and whoever invented it is a genius. Highly recommend, especially if you're new to birth control."

Ortho Evra (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "I am on day 6 of wearing the patch for the first time. On the 3rd day, nausea began and it has come in waves everyday since. I also feel extremely tired. I have had moments where I want to rip it off but I have read that the symptoms will lessen if I stick it out. I am 31 years old and have not been on any birth control in at least 13 years and have no children. So at this point, I am going to stick it out a bit longer."

Zafemy (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "I've been on BC for 8 years, been on Xulane transdermal patch for 6 years. July 2022 I went to pick up my BC and was given Zafemy asked why? Even though my script was for Xulane, was told Xulane is on backorder. 3 months later in October I asked my doctor to specify XULANE. She did. Went to go pick up my BC and it was Zafemy again! Xulane still on backorder per pharmacy. January rolls around and I go to pick up my 3 month script. Zafemy. Again. I have had a horrible experience with this patch, my menstrual cycle is different, I get horrible cramps, and the patches don't stick! I do not feel secure or safe using this patch! I'm in the process of finding a pharmacy who can get Xulane because that's what worked for the past 6 years."

Xulane (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "I absolutely love the patch. I could never go back to taking a pill. The patch is the simplest way to have birth control for me (it varies by person). If you are someone who goes to school, is forgetful, or just barely has time in the day to remember to eat, this helps you avoid the spotting, the cramps, the possible pregnancy of being on the pill and forgetting to take it. The one and only complaint I have is when playing sports, being in a sauna, or being in warm water for a while, the patch glue becomes weak and you have to be careful."

Xulane (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "Before I started the Xulane patch I was on the pill (Tri-Sprintec Birth Control ) was horrible ! I kept having vagina problems that became very uncomfortable. And also vaginal dryness as well before I got on the pill I didn’t have those problems . I was always feeling depressed and sad and also feeling like I was going to lose my mind !!! I hated this birth control so I switched to the patch . When I first started on the patch I was very happy . I love that I can change the patch weekly and I also can skip periods ! My periods don’t be as heavy as they used to be though . But the cons are I do cramp at the bottom of my stomach from time to time . I also have bad headaches. My breast just started becoming very sore and I sometimes feel very tired. Sometimes I feel as thought I’m pregnant when I’m not ."

Ortho Evra (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "Best birth control I have ever been on. I was on Seasonique before the patch, and I had my period for a month straight. I have been on almost every birth control. This is by far the best birth control I have ever been on. It also helped with my acne. I only break out maybe two pimples before my period now. It also cleared up my acne I had before going on this birth control."

Xulane (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "I would not recommend this birth control to my worse enemy. I have had terrible headaches, arm and stomach pain, and nausea. I stopped the patch as soon as I started throwing up while driving in my car. I am thinking about going to the ER, it has been almost 2 hours and I still can not stop vomiting. This is the worse pain ever. I regret ever using this patch. It is worse than the pills."

Xulane (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "I’m 22 and been on this birth control for a few months and I have had no major problems with it. No weight gain, my face is super clear, VERY light periods that last about 5 days! I’m writing this because there are so many negative reviews about this birth control when it just depends on your body since we’re all different! Only negative would be I do get a bit more moody but nothing major!"
