For Birth Control "I gave the NuvaRing a good go for 3 months. Love not having to take a pill, and I can't feel it in me, nor can my boyfriend. But, it's given me pimples, made my boobs sore, and destroyed my sex drive. I'll be going back to Yaz."

For Birth Control "I was on NuvaRing for 8 months. Starting in January, it was great, I was mostly acne-free and wasn't having too many mood swings. At about June, my acne became cystic, extremely painful, and I could barely move my face without pain. I gained 20 lbs and could not lose it with dieting and working out. I took it out two days ago because I'm positive that things will change."

For Birth Control "I just wanted to add in my positive experience with NuvaRing also! I figured that the majority of women who were having a positive outcome weren't commenting. After being on this for 3 cycles, I have to say that I do enjoy the convenience. I did notice in the beginning a little bit of acne, but that was expected for the first month, according to my Dr. I didn't experience any weight gain, it was quite the opposite. I have noticed that I am losing weight, but in a healthy amount. I did experience some of the nausea the first week, but it quickly went away with time. My aunt was on the NuvaRing for over 4 years, and she had great reviews as well."

For Birth Control "I am twenty years old and have been on birth control since I was 15. I have been on Tri-Cyclen, Yaz, Alesse, Depo-Provera, and Mirena! In five years, I was desperate to find something that worked for me. I had symptoms from weight gain, mood swings, acne, debilitating cramps, and even serious depression. Trying NuvaRing was my last hope. I LOVE IT! It has not given me any mood swings, it has BOOSTED my sex drive! My periods are ridiculously light, 2 days long, and I have no cramps or PMS. Amazing. I know every girl's body is different, but I totally recommend NuvaRing!"

For Birth Control "I started the ring for BC purposes and used it for about a year and a half. I decided to stop using it because I no longer had the risk of getting pregnant (for personal reasons). Within three or four weeks of stopping it, I started getting texture on my skin and then cystic acne. I’ve been off it for four months, and the breakouts literally will not stop. I don’t eat dairy, and I already limit my oil and sugar intake. I drink water and exercise semi-regularly, so I’m just waiting out the breakouts. On the other hand, using the NuvaRing was excellent! My period lightened up and shortened to five days instead of seven, and it didn’t cause me cramping. I just had hormonal pimples around the time I would menstruate, but I had that before I started using it too, so that was normal for me. If anything, while I used the NuvaRing, my skin was clearer than usual. I’m considering going back on it just to stop the current breakout."

For Birth Control "I'm 20 years old, BMI is 16, healthy. Not on any medication or have any medical needs. NuvaRing is the only form of birth control I've used. My experience with NuvaRing: started using it May 2009. I've never forgotten to take it out or put it in. You can't feel it inside you. My partner didn't mind it. It's easy. I haven't experienced any of the common or serious side effects. I haven't had any weight gain, irregular bleeding or spotting, nausea, headaches, etc. I still have acne, but hasn't worsened since starting the ring. One month I decided to skip my period and was a little more emotional than usual. Sometimes the ring does start to slip out (it's never completely slipped out), which then is uncomfortable. I didn't used to have cramps, but now I get minor cramps. My period is lighter, regular (my period was very irregular before NuvaRing), and even a day or two shorter. I would recommend NuvaRing to anyone interested in birth control, no matter who you are. Plus, it doesn't hurt to at least try it."

For Birth Control "I started using this birth control about 7 months ago. Since I've been on it, I have noticed my zero sex drive and constant breakouts. I have had abdominal cramping and crazy mood swings, depression. I'm always tired but can never sleep. I realized it was all just side effects listed on the NuvaRing website. Thank goodness my husband is patient with me. Wouldn't recommend it. I've stopped using it and am feeling and looking much better."

For Birth Control "I've used NuvaRing for over two months now, and when I first started using it, I had stomach pains (like cramps) for two days, but since then, nothing. I can't feel the ring, neither can my partner, and it has never fallen out. Slightly drier than usual, but not disturbingly. Other than that, I'm completely normal; no acne, no mood change, no weight gain, nothing. I love it."

For Birth Control "Worst experience of my life. Ended my relationship with my boyfriend and caused major family issues that I don’t know how to fix. My anger was like a car without brakes. I felt violent and enraged from about three days in, and had terrible acne and insomnia. I had a proper psychotic episode that lasted almost two months. I can’t warn against it strongly enough. I would have ended up in prison if I used it longer."

For Birth Control "I absolutely recommend the NuvaRing! I've been on and off it for the past three years. Between taking it and not, I had to switch medicines because my health insurance changed. I went from the NuvaRing to the Depo-Provera shot. The shot was a nightmare, gave me horrible back acne, and made me totally nuts. I feel so bad because I made my boyfriend go through a lot with my awful mood swings. When I had enough, I went back to the NuvaRing, and I felt normal again, and my back acne went away. I love that I can pick when to have my periods or not. I love that I leave it in for three weeks and don't have to think about it. I love that if it falls out during sex, it can stay out of my body up to three hours."

For Birth Control "I'm 21. I've been on birth control since age 13, as I have PCOS and need it to regulate my periods. Inserting this once a month is easier than remembering a pill each day. I used to have long, heavy periods (1 wk), but with NuvaRing, my periods are light for 2 days and heavy the last 2. Less acne, less pain too. It was awkward to insert at first, but after, you can't feel anything unless it's slipping out (which happened once). Otherwise, it's a good product. My doctor recently recommended Mirena, but after reading reviews, I am not. I'd rather be able to remove something if it's not working."

For Birth Control "Was on it for 3 years, had many problems from being fatigued to cranky to blood clots, which was the worst. I guess it depends on everyone's body. Mine, as soon as I got off it, everything was upside down. Had gum problems for a year, thanks to the crazy hormones, discoloration on skin, bad skin, severe sensitivity to the sun. Now off, going on 18 months from not using any bp, and I feel so much better. Will never use any method unnatural again!!!"

For Birth Control "I've been taking NuvaRing for 6 days now. I was previously taking Yaz pills. CONS: I'm breaking out more than normal (the pill controlled my breakouts to like 1 a week if I was keeping up my skincare), and I've had about 5 whiteheads since starting, and I don't normally get whiteheads, so I'm not thrilled about that. Also, it drains my energy, and I can't stay up more than 5-7 hours before needing a nap. It's so bad I can barely keep my eyes open even while driving at that point, and when I do nap, it's very hard to wake up fully and not feel groggy. Hoping that stops. PROS: can't forget to take it, has made me even more lubricated down there (hasn't affected sex drive negatively at all)."

For Birth Control "I've got one word that pains me to say... acne! I thought my acne subsided for good by senior year of high school, but I'm now 21 and experiencing major cystic acne again. And the beginning of the flare-ups were about 1 month into starting the NuvaRing. This alone makes me want to get off it, but I've also experienced a definite emotional bump lately, and I've been extremely lethargic. It's a shame too, because it was really convenient for me to use."

For Birth Control "I am 35 and have been on many methods of birth control since the age of 21. For the past 7 years, I have had breakthrough bleeding off and on, so my OBGYN suggested I switch to NuvaRing. Breakthrough bleeding has almost completely resolved. But the cons of the ring have been pretty bad - horrible acne (painful bumps, cystic acne on chin/jaw), depression, moodiness, crying, trouble focusing, vaginal dryness and discharge, abdominal bloating, etc. I have been on NuvaRing about 7 months now, as I was hoping my symptoms would lessen or resolve - not happening so, I called OBGYN today and am getting a new script for a new pill. Pros are that it is convenient. I had no loss of sex drive, no hair loss, and it never fell out during sex. Just can't deal with the cons."

For Birth Control "I am 22 years old, no children. I have been using NuvaRing for approximately 2 1/2 years. I LOVE IT. I have never had an issue with weight gain or acne. It is very easy to remember, just a reminder on my phone twice a month. Once to take it out, and a week later to replace it with a new one. The changing process is not gross or uncomfortable. Very mild cramping when it is period week, but the periods only last 2-3 days. I would recommend it to anyone I know."

For Birth Control "I love this birth control. I have tried probably 4 or 5 brands, and nothing worked for me. Weight gain, too emotional, face breaking out like crazy. This one fixed it all. I've been struggling with acne for a long time, and I am in the middle of my second month, and my skin is almost perfectly clear. It has made me so happy. My last birth control, Reclipsen, made me crazy. I gained fifteen pounds in two months. There's no other birth control I'd use but this one. I'd recommend it."

For Birth Control "I love NuvaRing! I have been on it for a year and a half, and it's great. I was on Yaz before for 2 years, then I switched because I had gained a lot of weight. Yaz helped with my acne. Now I break out a lot, but that's okay. I never had problems remembering to take my pill, but I still cannot imagine myself going back. I love this birth control, but I do agree that it is very expensive. Even with insurance, I'm still paying $40 a month for it, but hey, it's better than paying for a baby! I have had some concerns with my period. I missed it one month out of nowhere after having a normal period every month. The doctor said it was normal to miss one. Overall, great birth control!"

For Birth Control "I've been on the NuvaRing since about August, and I love it! I'd been on and off the pill for about 4 years and hated it. I was on it for about a month before switching to the NuvaRing, and it was awful. I got sick every day and just didn't feel like doing anything. My doctor suggested NuvaRing, and I went for it. My periods are predictable and so much lighter (I only get it for a couple of days before I put in my new ring). I haven't had any weight gain, except for my breasts getting two sizes bigger. My acne cleared up, though I do break out when I get my period. I don't have to worry if I've forgotten to take my pill or if I'm taking it at the same time every day. I have my cell alert me when it needs to be taken out and go back in as well."

For Birth Control "I have read all these comments, and I’m very sorry it didn’t work out for all of you. I would say I love being on the NuvaRing. There are positives and negatives for sure. As a positive, it helps me with any acne, I really don’t have any, and it also keeps me more stable emotionally. I feel independent, like I do not need a guy at all. However, it has COMPLETELY killed my sex drive. I have no desire for a boyfriend, for sex, and when I do, the orgasms aren’t as good anymore. I also get pretty sick when I drink even a glass of wine these days when I used to be able to drink often. Despite all that, I do feel like I am a more stable person on the ring. I do get cramps sometimes, and I’m always making sure I drink cranberry juice so I don’t get any UTIs. Overall, I enjoy being on the NuvaRing, not being emotional over guys, living my life."

For Birth Control "I have been using NuvaRing for about 4 months now and have not been very impressed. I have had breakouts the entire time, lower back aches, horrible mood swings, it has slipped out more than once, and given me terrible anxiety. Since I recently stopped using it, all symptoms have stopped and I feel normal again. I hope this helps anyone who is experiencing the same!"

For Birth Control "I have had NuvaRing for about 2 years now because I am not responsible enough for the pill. The reviews really scared me, but altogether I say it did its job. I am very sensitive down there and hurt very easily, but I never feel it throughout the day. Although I do have to take it out during sex because I feel it and it just feels a bit weird to me, no pain though (my fiancé does not feel it). I have an extremely high metabolism and have acne. The ring has not made it worse or better, which is fine by me. I also have not had any issues with depression, but I have noticed my libido is a bit less since I have been on it. Oh, but it did help me with my severe cramps, which my fiancé loves! No real spotting either."

For Birth Control "I have been on the NR for a few months now, and I love it! I have HSV-2, and so some birth controls can make my breakouts more frequent, but NR does not have that side effect. I have noticed that I'm a little more hungry, but that is something I need to consciously control. Other than that, it has been wonderful."
