For Hirsutism "I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome with very extreme hair growth. For instance, I got a haircut 3 weeks ago to above chin length, and it already grew back to a short ponytail. I have tried about every hair removal method there is, but it's tricky because some just plain don't work on me, and each place on the body has a different growth pattern. Anyway, suffice to say I shave my face much more often than my husband has to shave his. So I didn't mind spending $150 for less than 2 oz of cream. It's not supposed to show a difference until at least 4 or 8 weeks in. But within 3 days, it was brutally clear that the hair was coming in much faster, thicker, and unable to be removed. I stopped the cream, and within a few days, I was back to normal growth."

For Hirsutism "I've been using this product for about a month and a half, and I use it twice a day, but it has slowed down the hair growth only if I'm taking my prescription meds. Other than that, I haven't seen a change yet. I will keep using it until it's gone or my next doctor's appointment on 8/25/2017, but if it doesn't work like I hoped, I will just have to do laser hair removal."

For Hirsutism "I've used it on and off, and I definitely see slowed hair growth. The only problem I have is that it slows growth, it doesn't remove. This results in hair coming out 'just a little bit,' i.e., very, very short hairs, which are not so much seen as felt. And they're very hard to remove because they're so short (and I only use Tweezerman!). It actually takes me longer to pluck the short, stunted growth hairs than the full-grown hairs. Oh, well. I'm hoping that once I do get them, they won't grow back, and I'll be on my way to a smooth chin!!"

For Hirsutism "My whole life I had really nice skin. Then, in my late 30s, I started to get these patches of thick hairs on my chin and lip that would become ingrown and cause painful acne/folliculitis. My dermatologist suggested Vaniqa. I used it for 6 weeks. My skin became the worst it's ever been. The hairs became deeper ingrown, seemingly causing so much pain, and I didn't think the growth of the other hair was slowing down at all. I developed the most horrific cystic acne that, 18 months later, is still not healed. In the areas I used it, I developed scars where the pigmentation is completely gone, and I have deep indentations about 1/2 inch in diameter all over my face. If I ever want to look normal again, I'll need so much cosmetic surgery. The absolute only thing in my regime that was different was the Vaniqa, and after I stopped using it, the cystic acne slowed and then stopped."

For Hirsutism "I have suffered with excessive hair growth on my chin for more than 10 years. I was tweezing in the morning, then by the end of the day I was having to tweeze again! I have tried all sorts of things to remove it in the past, but nothing has worked. I started using this cream 4 weeks ago, and after 2 weeks I was disappointed as I thought it was not doing anything, but now after 4 weeks I have never felt so smooth. I am not plucking just the odd one or two. I’m excited to see what it will be like after the expected 8 weeks, as I am so much happier already. This really is amazing, and I have had no side effects. I bought the cream online, as I have spoken to the doctors numerous times about it, and they have never helped. But now I know this works, I will try and get it from them in the future. I really hope that if you try it, you are as happy as me with the results :)"

For Hirsutism "For me, this medication worked everywhere but on my facial hair. It was definitely systemic for me as I noticed no hair growth in areas of my body, previously hairy, but no change in my facial hair. I have rheumatoid arthritis, and I take a medication that causes hair loss. I noticed that there was no regrowth in hair on my scalp that I lost from the medication."

For Hirsutism "I live in the UK and have battled with dark coarse chin hair for years. It had gotten progressively worse, and I would find stray hairs morning, noon, and night. I was never without my tweezers. I have a home IPL machine, I have tried NoNo and all sorts of other things. None of them worked. I found an online pharmacy that sold Vaniqa. I had to inform my doctor first, who checked for contraindications and then gave the go-ahead. I ordered the cream, and it arrived the next day. Here’s the biggie… I HAVE SEEN AN IMPROVEMENT IN A WEEK! Very few hairs to pluck, and I don’t have that stubbly feeling when I rub cream into my chin. I am so much happier. The £65 I paid is well worth it compared to other so-called hair removal products that simply do not work. My one gripe is that it cannot be purchased over the counter. I will update my progress in a month or so. Good luck, peeps."

For Hirsutism "This cream is not for me! It burned my skin, and I have been dealing with really bad skin since, although I stopped using it as soon as I broke out. My face is completely covered with small pimples and blackheads for weeks. I can't believe I paid this much money for a cream, just to have my face get this bad. I'd rather have hair on my face, quite honestly."

For Hirsutism "I’ve struggled with coarse, thick upper lip and chin hair for years (really since puberty). As an adult, it had gotten to the point it was negatively impacting my self-esteem, having to tweeze and shave every day so I didn’t look like a man. I tried laser hair removal and after $1,000 in treatments, completely unsuccessful. I went to a dermatologist and he put me on spironolactone, which also didn’t work. I requested a prescription for Vaniqa, after researching this may help (he said it probably wouldn’t help). For about 6 months, I used it once a day and saw 0 improvement. I went through 1 bottle and after reading more about it online, decided to refill my prescription one last time and try it twice a day (morning and night). That was the game changer. I immediately started seeing less and less hair growing in. It’s absolutely unbelievable that this is working. I tweeze a few hairs every couple of days. It’s expensive at $165, but worth every penny to me. One tube will last about 3 months."

For Hirsutism "This was horrible. Had horrible side effects/burned my chin area. Did NOTHING!! I could and would have rather spent the money on multiple effective laser treatments. Very disappointed in money dropped on this worthless product! Literally been using it for months and NOTHING at all! In fact, since using it, I have noticed more hair! Beware of this no wonder product - doctors never recommend it!"

For Hirsutism "In September 2021, asked OBGYN for Rx during check-up. She was very discouraging, saying she didn't believe it would help someone like me. I'm 10 years past menopause, Mediterranean, light olive with dark hair that has always had some presence on my face (sideburns, above lip, etc.). Before menopause, and the first few years after, this was annoying but manageable with wax. Recent years turned into a huge problem. Vaniqa works perfectly, no side effects. Be patient, takes 3-4 months. My skin is now smooth again from not plucking/waxing daily. Has changed my life - I dream of travel once again in the future when I won't have to worry about unfamiliar mirrors/lighting. Now use only every 24 hours and seems to maintain. Is rather spendy, but as other reviewers have said, I'm too happy to mind giving up a few other things to pay for it; honestly, a bargain at twice the price for the relief it has brought me. I wish everyone the same results I've had - don't delay - sorry I'd not known of it sooner."

For Hirsutism "My last BF told me I look good in a certain light. And he was right. Had white hair all over my face, peach fuzz, strong hair on my chin and upper lips. A stubble and I thread. Not anymore! It feels great."

For Hirsutism "OK, so after 25 plus years of daily plucking and twice-a-day shaving of neck and chin, and then random cheek and lip dark hairs (amount of hair increasing and growing in strength daily), I started Vaniqa on Tuesday morning (and applied again in the evening). Wednesday morning, I felt a difference."

For Hirsutism "I really wanted to write a great review for this, but I just cannot. I started this product 6 weeks ago, so I realized that it may still be too early. I do think that the growth rate has slowed down slightly (still shaving 3 times a day, though). It’s been so harsh on my skin that my neck looks even worse than before. I have bumps everywhere on my neck and chin that are so hard to cover up, and you can still see and feel stubble seconds after shaving. My self-esteem is practically gone, and I don’t know how much longer I can do this. I plan on starting electrolysis in a few weeks, so I will continue to use Vaniqa for now. I just wish I saw a better result, I was so hopeful."

For Hirsutism "I have recently tried Vaniqa for facial hair, and I have lost so much hair on my scalp, I would say 40 percent of my hair. I began noticing so much hair loss once I began using Vaniqa for facial hair, and I stopped using the product. Not sure if anyone else went through this."

For Hirsutism "I haven't used it yet (hope it will get rid of the demoralizing appearance of increasingly coarse and numerous white hairs scattered on upper lip and chin!) I'm writing before I try it. And BTW, I find it VERY annoying that I'm not eligible for the $70 rebate through the company because I'm on Medicare. Why?? I'm paying for it completely out of pocket! This is weird and completely unfair. There isn't even a # to call or email to send to them to complain."

For Hirsutism "I have PCOS, and like Sandy further down the reviews, I am shocked at how much some women have to pay for this treatment! I am so lucky to be Welsh for many reasons, one of which is NHS Wales. As a single working mother, I would struggle to justify paying so much for something for myself, so I am beyond grateful that NHS Wales provides this treatment at no cost. I haven't been using it for long (9 days), but already I can see a huge difference in growth rate. Before, I would have to shave every morning, but now it's down to every 3 days. I am confident that the growth rate will continue to slow and hopeful that it will halt altogether. I will check back in a few weeks with an update. For now, it's 8/10 just for the simple fact that I don't know what my end results with the treatment will be."

For Hirsutism "I have suffered from hirsutism for years. I recently started on Vaniqa 4 weeks ago and notice a huge difference around my chin and upper lip. But I have started developing acne as a side effect, or is this folliculitis? Has anyone experienced this? And have any suggestions to help with the acne (folliculitis)? Thank you!"

For Hirsutism "I've been using this for over three months now, and I'm delighted with it. I've tried almost everything else on the market during the last 30 years, none of which has worked as well as this. After two weeks, I was ready to be disappointed, but it gradually started to work. Yes, it's expensive (a tube lasts about 9 weeks), but it's worth every penny to see the hair growth almost disappear. I still have to use a no-no (hair removal system) once a week and occasionally the tweezers, but the difference is remarkable. To feel a smooth chin and upper lip is just great!"

For Hirsutism "Not sure if it's working either, following directions for how much it is. I used to do electrolysis, which didn't do much either; she said not to pluck because it would reopen the now cauterized blood supply for the hair follicle; but I don't know if I should pluck for the cream to get to the follicle? I also have to apply it to my 'happy trail' and around my nipples; my doctor said it's okay to use there. I'm applying rubbing alcohol to clean it better?? Also, I apply it to my beard minus rubbing alcohol, so I have to be very sparing with it. I also tried for a rebate, not fair, not covered by insurance... coupon ideas anyone? Are there generics, and do they work?"

"Vaniqa has been amazing at slowing my facial hair growth. My first tube was six months ago that, with discounts, cost $50, still high but worth it for me. But the second prescription is $180 as discounts are no longer available. But my main question is, has anyone else noticed the hair on their head also thinning? I can easily see my scalp on the left side of my head. And if Vaniqa is not to blame, are any discounts still working for anyone in the US, or is there a pharmacy outside of the US to fill cheaper?"

For Hirsutism "I was lucky enough to get this on prescription from an NHS dermatologist. It began working within a very short time. Hair is a lot less, finer, and not so noticeable. Every few weeks, hair seems to increase slightly, but I think that is due to hair's natural cycle as it grows. I am very pleased with this cream and will continue to purchase it myself. The tube lasts about 10 weeks."

For Hirsutism "I have not bought this due to being really expensive. I was lucky enough and asked my sister if she could get it for me in Germany. Her doctor gave her the prescription and bought it for only $9. I will be receiving it in a week and can’t wait to start using it."

For Hirsutism "Wow, this cream works. I have PCOS, and after years of plucking every day, as the hair was so bad, my doctor prescribed Vaniqa. The difference is very noticeable after under 2 months."

For Hirsutism "I got this to help with my facial hair (around chin/jawline). It does not seem to work. I am still plucking and shaving just as often as I was before. When I originally started this medication, my testosterone levels were normal, which was confusing as to how I had hair growth in the first place. I have been taking this for about 6 months, and my testosterone levels are now high. Not sure if the medication had anything to do with it or if it is, in fact, undiagnosed PCOS. I would not recommend this medication because it is a waste of money and doesn't work as promised."
