For Acne "Of course my acne got much worse before it got better, just as my doctor said it would. So a few months into taking Yaz, my skin started to clear and now it just glows. I couldn't be happier. Though I do get a small pimple here or there on occasion but NOTHING compared to what I had before. I highly recommend it and your patience will pay off."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I was a happy, straight A, popular, physically active person in high school. Being active led me to not have a period for 8 months. My mom took me to a doctor, who prescribed Yaz. That summer, I gained over 30lbs and entered a warped reality of extreme withdrawal, depression, and self-loathing. I missed 6 weeks of school, almost didn’t pass 11th grade, and suicide became a very tangible idea. The next years of life were blurry, and involved lots of doctors to find out what was wrong. They suggested antidepressants because they thought Yaz—a drug to treat PMDD—actually CREATED it in me. The truth is, while I’m generally a happy and positive person now, I’ve never felt mentally as sane as I did in 2006, and I believe Yaz is 100% responsible. With my experience, and with the many other experiences I have read (including death) I am beyond appalled that this drug is still on the market. I encourage you to do your own research, and live."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I just start Yaz almost 4 weeks ago. I am 42 years old, I have my tubes tied so I don't need this for birth control but I started having perimenapause issues and I needed something to fix my hormones asap. I actually asked for Yaz. The first three days I was extremely tired but I was also extremely chill. After day 2 things started looking better and each day after that it gets better and better. This has helped the moods quite a bit, right now the only con is that my sex drive is lower but I am going to give my body some more time to adjust to the hormones before I make any changes. I plan on taking this pill back to back to eliminate my periods. I'll check back in another month."

For Acne "I get cystic/pustule acne from my antidepressant (Wellbutrin) and after no other birth control pills helped clear it he prescribed me Yaz for acne (and pregnancy prevention). The first 2 months were AWFUL skin wise. Although it cleared the acne on my back that the last birth control gave me, it made my facial acne SOOO much worse. I went from 1-2 painful cysts a month with 4-5 pustules to around 3-4 cysts a WEEK and smaller pustules. I'm on week 2 of my 3rd pack and it's almost magic how quickly it's all clearing! My weight has stayed the same, and everything else is fine. IT GETS WORSE BEFORE IT GETS BETTER!! Hang in there!"

For Birth Control "I've got into a serious relationship this past year and I opted to get birth control. I have had the Xulane birth control patches and the generic Yaz, Gianvi. Xulane gave me every side effect possible- mood swings, nausea, and headache, and Gianvi made me have mood swings. I asked my pharmacist to give me the non generic version and I finally got YAZ. I've had zero side effects, no mood swings, no weight gain, and GLOWING SKIN! If you're hesitant to try because of previous bad reviews, give it a shot! I am the person who has every possible bad side effect of every drug and I highly recommend it!"

For Birth Control "I am at month 7 of taking Yaz and I've never been more anxious and depressed of my entire life (I'm 21). I've never got so many panic attacks and mood swings in a year. I had so many health problem this year and I've been to the hospital so many times. Those things never happened to me before. The reason why I started this pill was to avoid pregnancy. Well, it worked, but my anxiety made me feel paranoid always about being pregnant because I was bloated all the time and my periods were always changing. My anxiety made me lose too much weight and caused acid reflux which left me with persistent nausea for months and I got a lot of migraines which recently began to be aura migraines. My mom said that I was not the same person anymore. My boyfriend is sad to see me like this and I don't really see my friends anymore because of my social anxiety. I'm getting off this pill tonight. Don't ever use it, it's ruining lives."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I've been taking Yaz for two years for Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD), combined with a low dose of Prozac. It has been a great combination for me. I used to have extreme mood swings about a week before my period, even to the point of getting myself in trouble at work. Now, I hardly feel my period coming on and it's smooth sailing all month."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I was on Loestrin 24 for 3 months, and noticed a lot more moodiness and irritability, so they put me on Yaz, and immediately I felt better. I have much more energy. I feel better, no bloating, and I'm just generally happy. Much more like I was before I began birth control. I love it."

"I have started yaz plus two months ago and started my 3rd pack recently. My breasts are sooooooo sore! I have been experiencing fuller breasts that have been sore for the past month, and it seems it is present for the 3rd month as well. I am constantly bloated as well. Has anyone also experienced this? :("

For Acne "I have been taking YAZ for 8 months now and am very pleased with the results. I have not gained any weight, my acne cleared up completely, and my periods are shorter and lighter. The first three months I did experience side effects; migranes, tiredness, breakthrough bleeding just the first month; but other than that, it was fine. I attribute those first three months to my body getting used to the hormones. At first I was hesistant to try this birth control because of the horror stories I have read online, but I decided to try it anyway, and I am so happy that I did, because it has been wonderful for me. I suggest anyone debating on trying it out, to not be discouraged by the reviews, because everybodys body is different."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I started this pill because I was having crazy mood swings and just not feeling like myself at least 3 weeks out of the month. My doctor prescribed me this hoping it would also treat my acne along with PMDD. Well, the first month was pretty rough as far as my acne was concerned but it wasn't as bad as I've read in other reviews. I had a few painful cystic pimples within 2 weeks of taking Yaz. I felt really embarrassed because my old pill (loestrin) gave me clear skin and I wasn't used to acne anymore. Well now I'm about to start my 4 inactive pills and about 3 days ago my skin just cleared up like MAGIC. I read that it takes about 3 months to level out your hormones. But I finally feel like myself again! No more crazy crying fits!!"

For Acne "I have struggled with acne since I was fifteen and nothing I would take or use helped it ever, and I did not want to take acutane. My doctor suggested I take birth control to help clear my skin and this has made my skin completely clear and I'm very glad. I did break out worse for the first three months but then my skin was completely clear, I did not gain weight in fact I lost two pounds at first, and it did make my boobs bigger, and they were sore at first but nothing terrible. The only problem I have is that it does make me really emotional the week before or the week after my period but nothing extreme, just irritability, sometimes crying at random things."

For Acne "I've been taking Yaz for three months for adult acne that was unresponsive to just about every skincare/formulation/medication/creams/makeup on the market. I had tried everything but the pill (Yaz) for several years due to becoming depressed/irritable on other contraceptive pills previously. This is the only thing that has worked! I'm so happy. The first 6 weeks made my skin much much worse but now, I'm clear for the first time in years. My breasts are fuller also which is a bonus."

For Birth Control "Was prescribed YAZ to regulate my period and control acne. From day one I turned into a different person - crazy mood swings, fits of anger and rage that had me so mad at my boyfriend extreme depression that left me crying all night, no energy, and I had anxiety attacks that basically paralyzed me on the floor unable to open up hands. So basically, the worst 18 days of my life. Cold turkey stop, despite the dr telling me to finish the pack. Sorry, I value my sanity, job and relationship way too much. Only positive - cleared up my hormonal acne. Not even close to worth it."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I have been on Yaz for a month and I feel like a different person. I lost 7lbs of water weight in two weeks, friends and family have noticed how much better I look. I went on Yaz because of severe PMS, which included serious bloating and abdominal heaviness, constipation, depression, fatigue and irritability to the point where I had been hardly able to leave the house the week before my period. I have energy again now. I'm not feeling terrible half of every month. The only side effect for me has been a thicker, heavier white discharge. I would recommend this to anyone with bad PMS. I love Yaz."

For Acne "I have been on Yaz for a year and it has been a good pill for me. I originally started taking it becuase of acne, I really used to think that my skin was a hopeless case and I never even wanted to leave the house. It took about 2 months to see any real improvements in my skin but after the third month I completely stopped breaking out, and now I can't even remember the last time I had a pimple or a breakout when I used to break out every single day and I'm talking bad acne all over my face. This pill has been wonderful in curing my acne, but the only complaint I have is that it caused me to gain weight quickly 130 to 145 (in 4 months) and now my thighs and hips are covered in stretch marks. My advice is to workout regularly and eat right."

For Acne "I’ve been on yaz for about three weeks now. My skin before taking this was moderate, I had a couple pimples here and there. My initial breakout with yaz has been HORRIBLE. My face is now covered in these white cystic unpoppable pimples that HURT. It hurts to sleep on my side and it just looks terrible. I’ve read all these reviews that say give it time so I’m clinging to the hope that it will clear up soon."

For Birth Control "Yaz has been a complete lifesaver. I used to suffer with heavy bleeding and cramps that had me bedridden. I've been on Yaz since 16 and I don't regret it at all. I have absolutely no side effects and there is no complications with my health either. If you're a first timer - Yaz is the way to go."

"It’s been almost 2 years on the pill (yaz). I started taking yaz because of my period and acne. I would bleed so heavy I could never control it, horrible back pain and cramps I also had acne so bad I hated going anywhere. After about 6 months to a year being on the pill my acne cleared up and I just was getting small pimples every once in a while, I gained weight in my butt, sides and thighs. Now being on the pill for 2 years I have realized how much it has affected me emotionally every month at the end of my pack I get, very depressed and crying for reasons I can’t explain. The depression and crazy mood swings affected me and my parents and boyfriend. I’m not myself and I’m not sure what to do. I feel like if I talk to my doctor about it I’m gonna have to be taken off the pill and what if my acne comes back and my period gets bad at the point I don’t care. I’m tired of not being me and feeling depressed. Any help?"

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "Hi ladies. I thought it would be useful to share my experience of Yaz for PMDD. I found Yaz so helpful for my moods. Emotionally it really did balance me out a lot. I felt in control of my life again. No more panic attacks, heavy bleeding, bloating, and no more week long depression. It was great. For my acne however it really flared things up. I persisted through till 9 months of taking it. But decided the skin just wasn't improving so I gave up hope that it would. Since stopping my skin has cleared up beautifully. If you are similar to me, persevere for at least six months. But it may not work for you either. Keep looking for something that works for you."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I was prescribed this pill to treat PMS however, taking this medication was the worst experience of my life. It alleviated anxiety but it made me severely depressed and paranoid. I am a fairly active person and I would go running every day. As soon as I began to take the pill I lost motivation to do the things I enjoyed and it got to the point where I did not even want to leave the house. I also almost lost my job over it. I tried to quit three times in one week and luckily my employer would not let me end my career and encouraged me to stay. Taking this medication also damaged my relationships with my friends and my partner and almost costed me my relationship. Please do not take this medication. "

For Birth Control "I was nervous starting Yaz for my Endometriosis because of reviews I had read and my bad experiences with birth control when I was a teenager. During the first couple weeks, I was very emotional- cried every day. After that, my emotions were more regular. I had very little appetite, I lost over 10 pounds in a month. My skin didn't change much. I would have stayed on Yaz because I didn't have any of the pain or symptoms that usually come with my period, but I started spotting about a month in and I have been bleeding ever since. I start Yasmin this week and I am very nervous for the transition."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "Day 1 back on this after being off it for 4.5 yrs. Already feeling the change for the better, and I feel normal again. I feel like I’m getting my life back! I almost lost my life to PMDD a few times and it’s not a good place to be. Wasn’t functioning before, today was so productive, I feel like this small tweak has already turned things around with my hormones. It’s only Day 1 but wow I’m so, so pleased to be feeling better and getting things done. I really hope to keep this momentum going."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I've been on YAZ for over 3 years now. It's the only birth control I've been on and it's been amazing. I suffer from severe PMDD and I was placed on it. So far my PMDD is not fully gone but it has helped my life tremendously. My period used to be 8 days long and extremely heavy. Now it's around 5 days and very light. I used to get severe cramping and now I rarely cramp. I also had mild acne and it's virtually gone now except for the few I get right before my period. For physical issues from my period is has been really successful but for the emotional issues it has helped mildly. I still get the panic, anger and depression up to a week before my period but it has calmed down. Also no pregnancy scares at all or weight gain."

For Acne "I’ve been on Yaz for almost 2 months now. I was hoping it would clear my skin up and help me with my cystic acne, but I’m not sure. I usually get pimples 2 weeks before my period, so obviously I broke out the 2 weeks before hand. But before that I felt like my skin was getting a little better. I definitely am still getting break outs tho. I’m getting my period tomorrow and I got a few more pimples coming in, as well as this one pimple on my chin that will NOT go away. I haven’t noticed any weight gain, or depression, but my boobs definitely got bigger lol. I’m gonna do another update after month 3. I hope it will finally kick in but I guess we will see:/"
