Beyaz (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) for Acne "I was prescribed Beyaz a year ago to control my acne and regulate my periods. I was experiencing acne like never before and was having 2 periods one month then none the next. Beyaz did work. It cleared up my acne 100%. However, it made my periods very light, inconsistent, and only 3-4 days long. Call me crazy, but I miss having 7 day, consistent periods. With Beyaz my periods are so light, tampons are painful to use and pads are too much protection. But I have to wear something; I have unexpected bursts/flows during those 3-4 days. My periods also don't start until the last day of the pack. I've had to skip the last pill just so that my period would start. Maybe Beyaz is too strong for my cycle, but it did wonders for my acne."

Beyaz (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) for Birth Control "Beyaz was the third birth control pill I had tried. I was previously on Loestrin 24 (made me a raving lunatic), then on Lo Loestrin 10 (gave me no period at all, which made me uncomfortable and more susceptible to vaginal infections). I was skeptical about starting a new pill, but this one is wonderful! The only side effects I have are tender and enlarged breasts. I highly recommend it!"

Safyral (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) for Birth Control "Only been on this pill a month but it is the only one so far that stopped the irregular bleeding I was having. I have tried Lo Estrin and Kariva and so far this is the winner! I will update after my second pack."

Beyaz (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) for Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I have been on this pill for 3 months going in 4 and have had my ups and downs with it. The 1 month I experianced intense mood swings, I was crying and angry all the time and just wanted to be alone. The 2 month I was wondering why my acne wasn't going away but my moods had improved. Although I was experiencing breakthrough bleeding for 15 days I continued to take the pill. My period also brought cramps like no other. The 3 months I have been feeling sort of depressed but I think that's due to life not the pill. My breakthrough bleeding still occurred (some days light some days none) and my skin has improved. I lost weight on BeYaz. I am looking forward to what month 4 brings and hoping all of the negative symptoms are gone."

Beyaz (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) for Birth Control "I have only been on Beyaz for a week but I have noticed a SIGNIFICANT decrease in appetite. I have already lost weight on this pill. So far I have noticed increased minor headaches and nausea the first few days. So far I really like this pill, the last pill I was on made me gain weight and I was very emotional. Hope it continues to be a good a pill for me."

Beyaz (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) "I was on Yaz for 4 years, I really liked it. I didn't gain weight, but I did notice my period wouldn't start until right before I would be starting a new pack. I switched to the generic to save money and right away I noticed my period symptoms became much more severe then before. I then switched to Beyaz. I didn't notice it a first but my sex drive was diminishing, I first blamed it on stress but after 6 months I realized that something was really wrong. I went from having a very healthy sex drive to not having one at all, I was also a lot more moody then before. I really don't recommend anyone taking this medication. What's the point of being on birth control if your not going to WANT to have sex."

Beyaz (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) for Birth Control "I've been on Beyaz for almost a year, Since them I've gone through times of weight gain and loss which could just be my body's normal function. Recently I have noticed aversions to certain foods, nausea, severe migraines, and lack of sleep. I haven't noticed a change in sex drive. My skin in flawless, but recently I've had severe migraines. Beyaz (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) for Acne "I am taking the generic version, which even with a goodrx coupon is still 55$ a month. However, I was willing to pay because of how terribly my body reacts to other “low” tier medications. My first two weeks were normal, however mid pack my skin was HORRIBLE. It lasted until about the 2nd pack, when it started to clear up tremendously. I am starting my 4th month and it has done wonders for my skin. It’s not perfect but I have only gotten one breakout since the initial “purge” with other factors playing into it. My weight did not change but I workout & eat well. The only odd effect I had was at about month 3 when I got my period out of nowhere and it lasted for about a full week. It was very light but I was SO bloated. I skip the sugar pills and start a new pack always, so I asked my doctor. This is normal if you’re skipping your period with the pill, so be aware that your body will want to have one anyways. Give this a try if you are on the hunt for a good birth control"

Beyaz (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) for Birth Control "I just finished month 2 of Beyaz and am hoping things get better after month 3. I have had just about every side effect that has been listed except for the mood swings. I have gained quite a bit of weight. In the first few weeks of taking Beyaz I was very nauseous and vomited a few times. I have daily headaches. I have zero sex drive and the thought of sex makes me ill when I am usually very sexually active. Thank goodness I have an understanding partner. I am unbelievably tired no matter how much sleep I get. I normally have acne on a regular basis but it hasn't gotten worse but I am patiently waiting for it to get better. I will continue to take Beyaz as recommended by my doctor for at least another 2 months and hope things get better."

Beyaz (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) for Acne "All I am going to say is my skin is flawless! After the first 2-3 months. I used to have outbreaks and blemishes! People always compliment me on how flawless my skin is and that I should do cover girl commercials. Beyaz!"

Beyaz (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) for Birth Control "I have taken this pill for two years now. I was originally put on it, because of a polyp. The polyp decreased dramatically. I have had no side effects minus minor spotting. My mood has increased dramatically right before and during my period. I used to have really bad cramps when I would get my period; however, that is practically non-existent now."

Beyaz (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) for Birth Control "I have been on Beyaz for a little over a week and I feel like a crazy person. Like so many of the comments I've read, I also switched from Yaz to Beyaz after its Bayer Saver's Program expired. Now I have headaches almost daily and am extremely moody. It's terrible."

Beyaz (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) for Acne "I was on Yaz for years. Even if I would skip a week or two on it, my face would start breaking out and literally within three days of taking Yaz my face would be crystal clear again. I completely went off the pill for a year due to prices, but now just went back on to BeYaz since it is cheaper and supposed to be the same thing. I've been waiting it out for three months, hoping I would improve- but my ance is actually getting WAY worse! I thought Yaz and Beyaz had the same ingredients...did I become immune to the effects."

Beyaz (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) for Acne "Beyaz was the second birth control I used. In terms of acne it completely cleared my back, chest, and face acne. However, I have gained about 15 pounds and am very active and cannot lose weight. I also am irritable like no other. I have terrible mood swings. I loved that it cleared my acne but the mood swings and weight gain have to go so, I am switching to Apri but if that doesn't work I would go back."

Safyral (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) for Birth Control "I've been on Safyral for about 6 months now, when my doctor first put me on this pill I really liked. It was my first time going on birth control so I was nervous about all the weight gain rumors. But it was fine, I didn't gain any weight, I actually lost weight and my breasts got bigger. My skin cleared up, it has been a great contraceptive so far, but it made me so emotional. Maybe 2 or 3 months in I just got so depressed, randomly I would just get so sad and not even know why. I cried all the time, I had a short fuse, the littlest things would just upset me and I've never been like that so I'm switching. Everyone is different though and besides the emotions it was a great birth control."

Beyaz (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) for Birth Control "I have been on Beyaz birth control for about 5 years now, and I have never really had any serious problems with it! As a birth control, it seems to be working great no babies here! I've never really had any acne, however I used to get random pimples on my thighs which was so strange to me but when I started Beyaz they quickly disappeared. My breasts have grown a substantial amount, but I do not have bad bloating or weight gain in other areas which is awesome. The only downside I have noticed to this medication, is that my mood swings were terrible the first couple weeks. This is normal when you give your body any extra hormones so I was not too worried about it. The mood swings stopped about 4 weeks in."

Beyaz (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) for Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I love Beyaz. No weight gain at all and I've been on it for almost a year. Clear skin. No mood swings although I feel emotional right before my period but I've always been that way. The only negative thing is I used to be on the Bayer card and paid $25 dollars but now it went up to $62."

Beyaz (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) for Birth Control "I was on Yaz a few years ago until I couldn't afford it anymore. I absolutely loved it. My face was clear, my period was light and it worked magic on my ABSOLUTELY UNBEARABLE cramps. I've been on Beyaz for a month now and I am not really seeing the same things I saw with Yaz just yet. I was really nauseous for the first two weeks, my face is still breaking out (not because of the pill), cramps aren't bad but have not disappeared and my sex drive has decreased. I'm hoping this is just for the first month and things get better down the line."

Tydemy (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) for Birth Control "I started taking Yaz in 2007 and I loved it. When my insurance no longer covered the brand name Yaz, I started taking Safyral in 2013 and had no side effects. I was very happy with the medication. In October of 2018 my insurance no longer covered Safyral so I tried the generic version Tydemy for 3 months and I had horrible mood swings, my skin started breaking out, and I felt depressed and was crying all the time. It was to the point that my husband told me I was acting like completely different person. The only reason I gave this medication 2 stars is because it did its job of protecting me from getting pregnant. I would have rather had the $50 copay for Safyral but even that is no longer an option."

Safyral (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) for Birth Control "As far as birth control and periods went, this was fine. My periods were much less crampy and painful, my skin didn't change at all. However, it was like my personality completely flipped. I felt robbed of my sense of adventure, I had absolutely no interest in going and doing fun things with my family. I've never had depression, but I think this must be what it feels like. I stopped taking it and am almost back to my old self, even though I'm back to having terrible periods. I will take cramps over how I was acting any day of the week."

Beyaz (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) for Birth Control "I've been on this birth control for about 2 weeks now, and let me explain I've never been on birth control before. I experienced just about no side effects so far, no unusual weight gain, headaches, or cravings. No bad mood swings and it already helping my acne (the reason I went on it). The downfall: I've been bleeding for the whole 2 weeks I've been on it. I started it the day of my period as instructed, usually I bleed for 4-5 days but I have had my period now for 2 weeks straight. I think it's getting light and about to go away and then I wake up the next morning and back again! If this side effect continues into the next pack I may have to give up beyaz:( I am on the generic by the way."

Beyaz (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) for Birth Control "I have been on Beyaz for only 5 days. My doctor recommended it knowing that I am a smoker, but I'm only 25. I already had a tubal ligation so Beyaz is for hormones and acne. I feel very nauseous and have severe migraines, loss of appetite extremely tired, also I have a nasty taste in my mouth that just won't go away no matter how much I brush floss or mouthwash. I'm not sure if I could handle these side effects being a 2 and 3, working full time I have to have the most energy as possible. These side effects don't help."

Beyaz (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) for Acne "I'm 33 and started having acne and needed to go back on birth control. The great news is, my skin cleared up completely within 3 months on Beyaz. The bad news is, I've been taking the pill for a little over 6 months and I'm still having my period twice a month (each lasting between 6-11 days). Definitely not ideal, but they're usually pretty light. I haven't noticed any weight gain (but I do work out intensively 5-6 days a week). Lately, I've been noticing a lot more mood swings, low self-esteem/poor body image, and I have a tremendous amount of guilt about everyday things and a bit of depression. I increased my anti-depressant and that has seemed to help with the depression aspect, but not the other symptoms."

Beyaz (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) for Birth Control "I started BeYaz because it was recommended by a new PA I'm seeing. SHe said it would help with the PMS symptoms I described. I've nearly completed the first pack and I am feeling completely out of control, depressed, even suicidal, and irritable and SO angry. I DID NOT feel this way before, even at my worst PMS times. I started my period about a week before I should have this month. I don't know if I should continue using this pill or not. It just dawned on me that it could be the BeYaz, and after reading the pamphlet and now these postings, I think the BeYaz may be why I've been having these overwhelming symptoms."

Beyaz (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) for Birth Control "I went from Yaz to Beyaz. Worst decision ever. Yaz was amazing, but I was receiving it for free. They couldn't offer it for free anymore so they put me on Beyaz. My period is longer, my cramps are bad and I am emotional - which is crazy because I was never emotional when I was on Yaz or no birth control! The worst part is the acne. GIANT pimples everywhere. I am 27 and feel like I am 13! Ladies, keep in mind everyone will have their own experience, as it's how it reacts with your specific body."
